The Lobster Pot is a great place to stay for a visit to Saltburn. A super Shepherds Hut that is spacious with its own toilet and shower (a must for the wife). Nice and secluded but only a short walk to the beach and restaurants of Saltburn. Great weather was a bonus. Would have no hesitation in boking again on our next visit to Saltburn by the Sea.

GuestAirbnbJun 2025

Lovely place to stay . friendly and helpful host . Location was in a great spot close to the sea , nice pub and just few steps away from the pier and easy walk ( lots of steps!) if you like some exercises to town centre. Overall is a nice place to be , safe and relaxing and equipped with anything you need to relax . Would recommend it ! Thanks Andrea and Paul

This is a very cute, functional and well situated residence. Hut vibe gives extra appeal. Well equipped for two, useful addition of wood burner for cold nights. Owner came to say hi too!

GuestAirbnbFeb 2025

Me and my partner absolutely loved staying here! The perfect place to relax and de-stress from work. Definitely exceeded our expectations, we will definitely be visiting the lobster pot again.

A short break in East Yorkshire and to walk part of the Cleveland way. The lobste Positive: Located near the sea and a pub serving delicious food within easy walking distance Negative: We would have liked a small hob to cook breakfast.

GuestAirbnbMay 2025

Beautiful little Shepherds Hut in Saltburn. Within short walking distance to the town centre but right next to the Cleveland Way for those of us planning on walking. Really cute setup inside and the bed was really comfy! And loved the outdoor area too. Had everything we needed for a lovely long weekend.

The Lobster Hut was a perfect, affordable and cosy find. Ideal location, had everything we needed but still remained minimalistic which is what we were after. The host responded very quickly to any queries and the stay was exactly as described on the listing.

The Lobster Pot is a wonderful gem of a retreat. It was just like the photos, clean, cosy and warm. It was ideal for a short stay, with everything i needed including good wifi. The beach is a stones throw away as is the Ship Inn. I am a mature person and travelled alone but felt safe and secure tucked away in the grounds of a private property. I would highly recommend The Lobster Pot and its beautiful location. I appreciated the thoughful gifts of wine, snacks local information, tea, coffe etc. I didnt have time to explore the picturesque walks, other than the beach but next time hopefully I will. I intend to visit again. Very relaxing.

Lovely little find whilst attending a nearby wedding. The hut is surprisingly spacious, in a great location whilst still being tucked away and had everything we needed. Host left good local recommendations and additional goodies. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Such a cute and cosy place, easy to get to if using public transport, has everything you need and more, thanks sophie :)

GuestAirbnbSep 2026

Booked this for my boyfriends birthday and was not disappointed. The hut was bigger than expected and had such a cosy feel to it. Saltburn by the sea was lovely and we enjoyed many walks up the pier as well as going on a walk to the viaduct. We will definitely be back!

ReshmaBooking.comSep 2026

Overall beautiful sanctuary in Saltburn Positive: The Lobster Pot is a beautiful chalet, decor is very tasteful and very cosy. Small in size but good for one or two nights. We liked the location tucked away and peaceful. Very close to the beach and pier. Negative: It’s quite small inside, so not really anywhere to sit in terms of sofas. And the shower is not that powerful

Was für ein netter kleiner Wagen. Sehr heimelig. Der Strand war in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar.

Positive: Cody Negative: The bed was uncomfortable

CorinneBooking.comAug 2026

Loved every minute Positive: I loved staying here, just what I needed. Nice and quiet and so close to the sea front and town. 100% will stay here again. The shower was surprisingly great too. Negative: There's not alot I would change at all.

Cosy, warm and lovely little set up. Would definitely stay again

GuestAirbnbAug 2026

Lovely little place to stay, perfect for a quiet few days by the sea.

GuestAirbnbJul 2026

A lovely place to stay, well equipped , cosy and comfortable. The owner was friendly and helpful - we appreciated the extra firewood he brought for the firepit and that we were able to stay an extra night. A couple of cleaning points could make it even better- opening windows before our arrival would have aired the place better, the cafetiere was dirty and had been left quite a while. Top tip for developing might be to get an air fryer. We'd definitely stay again and recommend to others.

GuestAirbnbJul 2026

Really enjoyed my stay. it was close to the sea so I could hear it but not close enough to hear crowds of people. a 10 second walk from the closest pub. really beautiful little cabin which had a lot of cute things in it all themed around lobsters. Fairly private, I only saw maybe 2 people near the property the entire time. I would definitely come back.

HarryBooking.comJul 2026

Lovely cosy time, very relaxing

GuestAirbnbJul 2026

The Lobster Pot is a great little gem in a fantastic location. The hut was beautifully decorated and well equipped for our week's stay and it was lovely to be able to enjoy outdoor seating and BBQ. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and responsive when we had queries during our stay. Being situated 1 minute from a pub, 1.5 minutes from the sea, just steps away from both The Cleveland Way and the coastal bus route stop, and a short stroll into town, made the Lobster Pot an ideal location for our stay. We hope to return soon

GuestAirbnbJul 2026

Great value for money, 2 min walk to the beach which is the most calm and unspoiled lovely British beach ever. Literally not a tourist in sight, such a nice vibe. The property was well equipped and we especially appreciated the fan during the heatwave. However, if you leave the windows open at night the shutters smash against the windows and this did disturb our sleep quite a bit. The sides of the bed were caked in dust which is minor but wasn't very pleasant so could do with a good clean. The shower/pipes in the bathroom also smelled a bit sulphur-y. The rest of the property was clean. These things didn't ruin our stay though and we still had a lovely mini break in Saltburn. The host was EXTREMELY responsive, potentially even a little too much information at times haha as there was a lot of messages/emails from Host and Stay. Overall 4/5* :)

thomasBooking.comJun 2026

Absolutely beautiful and such a great location for an escape Positive: Beautiful place and very quite stunning views. Negative: Nothing was perfect

OliverBooking.comJun 2026

Lovely but let down by letting agents Positive: Clean tidy place in a great location. I have stayed a few times and it’s always very nice once there. However the letting agent host&stay have been an issue on every visit. It’s the only thing that lets the stay down. Negative: Host & Stay….the letting agent is terrible for communication. In the past getting the details has been a chore but this time I did not receive the access information until 19:00. Check in is from 16:00…. And that was only because I was actively chasing the lockbox code. I’ve had the same issue every stay. They are very quick to send their advertising but don’t give you the info you need and want you to sign up to their own website. I have had to phone or message every visit here. Honestly it has tainted the whole stay and I’m debating whether to book again because of the continual issues. It is a real shame as it’s a lovely location and setup.

GuestAirbnbJun 2026

Had a really lovely stay at the Lobster Pot. The host was very speedy at getting back to all my questions, really good. It's quiet, yet really close to the beach and all amenities. Even though I couldn't get an early check, in which was disappointing, the host was happy for me to park there in the free space for a few hours whilst I explored the area until check in, which was useful. The welcome pack was lovely, wine and crisps, what's not to like? I'll definitely be back, Saltburn is fab and the location and accomodation cosy, really comfy bed and perfect for what I needed. Thanks.

GuestAirbnbJun 2026

We love the Lobster Pot! We came to Saltburn for the weekend and this was the perfect place to stay. It's a 2 minute walk from the beach & nearest pub, a 5 minute walk from the pier, and a 10 minute walk from the town. Super clean, super helpful host, super place to stay!

GuestAirbnbJun 2026

Excellent experience

JeanetteVrboJun 2026

Super everything, comfy, location, style, great place to explore Saltburn from

GuestAirbnbJun 2026

We spent a pleasant few nights in The Lobster Pot, which was mostly great. Clear instructions in advance, and nice easy check in with key safe. The hut was cosy and comfortable, glad of the large fan as it was very warm weather. Mostly very clean, but some bits missed. We had very poor reception on EE and the WiFi wasn't the best. Unfortunately we had been left with only the very end of 1 toilet roll, no bin bags and 1 bath towel between 2 of us. Messages thru Airbnb seemed to be with AI which was frustrating and slow. Eventually got a call from a human the following day, and housekeeping dropped off supplies while we were out, including wine and crisps. Overall, a little disappointing having travelled a long way, but it is a super place to stay. Saltburn is a gorgeous old Victorian seaside town, the pebble beach just a short walk away, the nearby Ship Inn had a super menu and plenty of tables.

GuestAirbnbJun 2026

Great little hideaway spot, but super close to the beach and walks on the doorstep. A few minutes walk for restaurant and pub options. Very quiet and peaceful spot!

SharonBooking.comMay 2026

Dark Positive: Cute hut Negative: On the evening of our stay electric tripped and nothing showed in the fuse box inside the cabin so couldn’t use anything pitch black no showers sockets etc We did manage to trace the problem the next morning when it was light back to a main fuse box on outer building but too late to use facilities before check out lucky we got it working for the next guests Reported the problem and took them 2 weeks to offer a 20% discount on next stay

malcolmBooking.comMay 2026

For an 80 year old recent widower with predictable health issues I found it perfect for a break by Positive: Spotlessly clean. Supplied with all you could possibly need and a little bit more. Full of safety fe atures. Pleasant site. Well isolated but within 50 yards of the nearest beach and pub with food Negative: Little to improve. Host and Stay could provide precise location details a little earlier than a day before arrival date but when contacted we’re very pleasant and helpful.

NicolaBooking.comMay 2026

Beautiful little hut, very clean, cosy and private.

GuestAirbnbMay 2026

Shower was not fit for purpose. Electric shower thermostatic mixer was either giving extremely hot temp or freezing cold temp. Communicated this with the host during the stay, with no reply. Check in time was at 4pm, with an earlier check in not possible because of their apparent cleaning procedure. Arrived at the place and there were cake boxes left in the fridge and mugs with lipstick on them.

DARREN7777Booking.comMay 2026

Positive: Location, comfy bed, cosy Negative: Shower head was dirty and shower went hot and cold when on high setting. Could do with some comfier seating outside. Drawers under bed were full of what appeared to be dirty linen. Could do with some space to hang up clothing.

GuestAirbnbApr 2026

The hut is not on the beachfront it’s round the back of a barn. The area is nice but felt miss sold with the photos and location map. The hut itself is clean and tidy but the log burner isn’t functional. There was a note in the leaflet that urged us not to use it which is a real shame. Also no cooking facilities other than a microwave. It’s run by a company who constantly tries to upsell. Wanting more nights booked and tried to force insurance against damages on me. They send lots of messages with an overall threatening tone to fine you a lot of money if anything is found damaged but you can be protected against it if only you buy their extra packages. Not happy with this treatment myself so be wary. Tricky to find the place as well and the number they gave to call doesn’t work so no hope there either, won’t be retuning, shame as it showed a lot of promise from the pictures.

GuestAirbnbApr 2026

Such a peaceful relaxing place to stay. Beautiful Shepard's hut with a great pub over the road and Saltburn itself is fantastic & has something for everyone!

GeorgiaBooking.comApr 2026

A cute and cosy getaway however, room for improvement. Positive: A great location - we had traveled in via train and was really accessible for us. The hut is then only a short walk to the beach, pier, town, bars, restaurants and shops which was brilliant. The Ship Inn is especially close - great for a drink and to sit and watch the sea. The actual hut itself was cute and cosy; it was our first time staying in something like that so was definitely a different experience. The wine and crisps was a lovely touch too. Negative: Whilst the hut was cozy and cute, we found it not to be the most comfortable. The bed weren’t great to sleep on (rock hard); in fact we didn’t get much sleep due to this factor. We also found it not to be the cleanest place we’d ever stayed (dust, stained pillows, marks in the sink) which again let us down especially given the amount of money we had paid to stop here. We would stay here again if we thought those things would be rectified.

GuestAirbnbApr 2026

Great location tucked away, really close to the beach. We were informed we couldn’t use the fire on the day we travelled (we had only booked the night before) which was disappointing, but the cabin was warm with the heater on. Walkable into town and there are lots of lovely places to visit. Lots of great walks, including the Cleveland Way. Would love to come back to Saltburn-by-the-Sea.

GuestAirbnbMar 2026

Lovely stay!

HarperBooking.comMar 2026

Positive: The lobster pot had everything you needed, the wine and snacks on arrival were very welcoming, and the log burner kept us cosy on an evening, even the logs where provided. All in all a really nice convenient base Negative: Can't think of any bad points

Absolutely blown away by the Lobster Pot, excellent location right opposite the pub in Saltburn and a two minute walk up to the top of the cliff.. we loved every aspect of it the inside was perfectly transformed to be comfortable stylish and warm. The log burning stove was one of the best features . We will definitely return.

Beautiful location. Not one complaint. Would stay again.

LynnBooking.comNov 2025

Worth the visit and would definitely come again Positive: Just as described. Lovely comfy, cosy retreat. Bed so comfy. Had everything I needed and very handy for the pub. Didn’t eat out as there was a microwave and toaster. Negative: With the weather being so cold the bathroom wasn’t very warm.

GuestAirbnbNov 2025

lovely weekend away, this is a hidden gem literally up the road and you're on the beach. log burner with wood provided to keep it nice and toasty. but also has heating if preferred. lovely and cosy inside finish and decoration are lovely. fire pit and outdoor table chairs if you want to sit out. welcome basket with wine and snacks lovely touch. private parking felt very secure. We would definitely return here.

GuestAirbnbNov 2025

We were disappointed that the rules said not to use the log burner. It also wouldve been nice to have a bin for kitchen waste, a place to dry dishes, and a sponge to clean the dishes with after a couple of days of self catering.

GuestAirbnbNov 2025

Fantastic stay in a beautiful place! Slept really well, toasty cabin with all amenities needed. Thank you ☺️

GuestAirbnbOct 2025

Perfect little spot for some R&R, will definitely be back!

GuestAirbnbOct 2025

Cute little cabin within a stones throw of the sea front. Pub, fish and chip shops and the pier just two minutes walk away. Was very quiet and peaceful in the cabin even though it’s so close to the sea front. Cabin is exactly as the pictures show. We will definitely be visiting again.

GuestAirbnbOct 2025

Could do with informing on the advert that you need to bring your own wood for the log burner. But faultless otherwise , can’t wait to go back

GuestAirbnbSep 2025

What an amazing little gem! Yards from the beach and a wonderful location. One to come back to in the future.

GuestAirbnbSep 2025

A beautiful little shepherd's hut a very short walk away from the beach, the pub, and pier. It was cosy and perfect for our short stay. There was an issue with finding the hut, with the post code and map location taking you to the pub, but after a call to the company it was quickly resolved. The call handler did advise its a common issue, so it would be good to have this updated on here. Other than that, a perfect stay.

GuestAirbnbSep 2025

We had a wonderful stay. The hut is in a great location, just a two minute walk to the beach. The hut itself was very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend!

GuestAirbnbAug 2025

Lovely little shepherd's hut tucked away and ornate, but less than 3 minutes walk from the seafront. Very clean and tidy - it is lovely and bright inside and feels very homely. highly recommended and will be returning.

GuestAirbnbAug 2025

A lovely little hidden place to explore the area, would recommend! The guy is so comfy and has everything you need. Nice little touches on arrival with food treats and toiletries to make it extra inviting. We had a great sleep. Thanks for having us,.will hopefully visit again!

StewartBooking.comAug 2025

With tiring days clearing out a family member’s home in preparation for sale, The Lobster Pot provided a quiet location Positive: It was different. Compact but big enough. Tranquil location but walking distance to lots of amenities. Welcome basket of wine and snacks was a nice touch. Negative: Nothing really. The only problem was that the link we were sent to find it took us to another part of Saltburn, whereas the postcode from the address took us straight to it.

GuestAirbnbAug 2025

Loved our 2 night stay at the Lobster Pot. It was the perfect cosy base to explore Saltburn and Redcar from. Great proximity to the beech for post swim shower, and to the pub with beach front outdoor seating. Also very relaxing to return to after a walk and enjoy the little bbq in the sheltered courtyourd area. Really appreciated the easy lock box check in and parking spot too.

Beautiful hut, well presented and everything you expect from a small quiet get-away. Very private place, shortest of walks to the sea; made coffee and walked to the seawall to drink at breakfast. Saltburn is beautiful, amazing beaches and pier.

We had amazing time. The hut is very cosy and has everything you need, including a lovely outside area, BBQ and parking. You cannot find better location, It is private and relaxing and close to the beach and Pub! We definitely come again! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

GuestAirbnbJul 2025

Great location in terms of access to beach. Road closer and louder than expected. Everything needed for a short stay but property hasn’t been cleaned, bedding and towels hasn’t been changed, etc. when we arrived (after check in time) which left a negative impression and caused a 2 hour delay to check in. Having only booked one night, this noticeably reduced our time there.

GuestAirbnbJun 2025

Really enjoyed our stay at the Lobster Pot. Had everything you needed for a couple of nights away. Bed comfortable, shower good and two minutes walk from the beach. Lots of amenities in Saltburn and the surrounding area.

GuestAirbnbJun 2025

AlanBooking.comJun 2025

A charming place to stay Positive: The lobster pot is so tranquil, a great place to reflect and recharge. The local sites are within easy walking distance. The locals are so friendly making the visit complete. Negative: .there was no hot water on tap. Washing up made difficult as a result.

A little gem in a busy seaside town. The hut is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the sea front but with in 5 minutes walk. Beautiful accommodation exactly as advertised. Nothing to criticise about the place at all.

GuestAirbnbApr 2025

We had a lovely stay at the Lobster Pot. Great location, close to the beach and a short walk to town. Warm and comfortable but we felt the electric shower was poor in performance. The cleanliness of the hut was average - could have been cleaner in our opinion. I will contact the host directly with more info.

We had a lovely stay in the Shepherd's Hut. It's in a great location close to the beach and only 15 mins walk into Saltburn shops and restaurants. The hut is tiny but clean and well fitted out and fine for a short break. We appreciated the welcome hamper and local guidebook.
