Attractive, well appointed and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful location. We appreciated being welcomed by our friendly host even though the arrival instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The Hayloft was beautifully designed and furnished, and the kitchen area was well, and thoughtfully, equipped for self catering. We really enjoyed our stay whilst visiting family nearby and would recommend highly, especially to guests who enjoy walking and wildlife watching.

Positive: The Hayloft had everything we needed and more! The bed is very comfortable. The property is warm. The setting is right next to the edge of the moor and I loved seeing the curlews and a barn owl. It is only 5 miles from Ilkley which is a great town to visit and Wharfedale has some great walks. Negative: Nothing

Fantastic moorland getaway Positive: Excellent remote location with splendid views. Great area for walking - the footpath onto the moor is right outside the front door. Cottage itself is very warm and well kitted out and the hosts are very friendly (The Hayloft is self contained but they live in the main part of the house downstairs). Considering the remote location, the wifi is very good. Good pubs in the area - The Hermit Inn is walking distance and highly recommended, also the Flying Duck in Ilkley which has its own microbrewery on site. Negative: Just one very minor thing - the bedroom has a vaulted ceiling so need to stoop when walking around.

Positive: Stunning location. Cosy accommodation. Perfect for a short break/romantic getaway.

A cosy countryside retreat Positive: Location wise the property is a bit far from Ilkley but has great views and is perfect for a relaxing get away. There's direct access to walk along the moors which will take you to the Cow and Calf rocks and if you continue further directly to Ilkley. The property is also fairly spacious, great for 2 people and comes with a living room, small kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom. The living room has a nice couch, smart TV and small fireplace and overall the atmosphere is extremely cosy. When we arrived the host also provided us with some amenities in the bathroom, along with eggs, milk and coffee for use in the kitchen. The kitchen comes with enough to cook simple meals and the whole place was spotless when we arrived. Negative: The pathway up to the house was fairly narrow so keep in mind when driving up in a car. We didn't have a car so it was a bit far to get to Ilkley but the relaxing atmosphere was definitely worth it.

Magical in all aspects. Positive: The property was amazing with all facilities for a short stay. The place was spotless and very comfortable. The property is situated on top of a hill up a very private track and the views are amazing. If you like walking you are in heaven. A morning chore might be reuniting a lamb with its mother as I had to do when it managed to jump over a gate capped off with having some Eggs which were laid by the Hens situated at the end of the garden! I was welcomed by the host who was very helpful and was in hand if required (not necessary). The drive to the near town off Ilkley is spectacular and the local pub “The Herman Inn” is a must. I spent 6 nights at the property and really enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the Yorkshire moors. Negative: No Washing Machine. The steps upto the property may cause issues with people who are unsteady and the shower is over the Bath (nice shower but again people unsteady on their feet may struggle getting into the shower) A handle is situated at the side of the bath.

Stayed here to get ready for my wedding. Hosts were super friendly and welcoming, space was perfect for a quiet evening and then beautiful views when people arrived to get ready. So happy with our stay, thank you so much!

The hayloft Positive: The bed was very comfortable. It was clean with lovely views. The information link sent to me with places nearby was very helpful. Negative: It was icy so we couldn't take the car up the hill and had to walk most of the way. Could use little sachets of sauce packets and hot chocolate as you Don't wanna buy a big one for a short stay. Other than that it was overall good and we enjoyed it 👍🏻

Cozy and nice cottage type flat. peaceful surrendering. kitchen is fully equipped. bed was super comfortable. Had a serene two weeks in Yhe Hayloft. my hosts ( owners) were kind and very tentative about making sure I am comfortable. thank you Sally & Chris and Host& Stay team.

Comfortable and cosy rural retreat. Positive: Excellent location set on the edge of the moors. The flat was very comfortable with log burner and well equipped kitchen. The bed was also very comfortable. Negative: Nothing. However, it is worth pointing out that the bedroom has a low ceiling so may not suit very tall visitors.

Wow!!! What an amazing week in The Hayloft. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful and was in a great location for exploring the area, felt right at home as soon as we arrived and both Chris and Sally were lovely. Just be aware that there is a very narrow drive up to the property but after a few days you get used to this. The underfloor heating in the bathroom is lovely, took us until the last day to discover this 🤣. Would recommend The Hayloft to anyone who wants to visit the Yorkshire area. 😁⛰️

Comfortable in a secluded spot Positive: Loved the location, being secluded and able to walk out straight on to the moor. All facilities were fine, Bed, TV & Wifi were excellent. The host was very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend this and we would come back. Negative: Nothing really. Sloped ceiling in bedroom means you need to mind your head but a minor point.

Fabulous escape weekend Positive: Lovely remote location. Definitely well away from the madness of daily life 🙂 Negative: Bank Holiday weekends only last three days 😟. Could have stayed here for much longer 😊

I was staying for a conference in Leeds and to be honest it was just fabulous to escape the city and come home to such a lovely property in an idyllic location each night. I will definitely return for a proper break next time. The attention to detail was flawless and the flat is spotless. Comfy bed and perfect pillows. Nice touches too, with fresh eggs from the hens outside. Probably one of my best AirBnB experiences. Thank you.

The Haylift is a delightful, peaceful little retreat. We felt at home straight away. The stunning views of the moor and the layout of the property make it a unique place to stay. We would love to return.

Glorious views, cosy. comfortable Positive: This was our second visit. Beautiful location right by the moors, very attractive accommodation, friendly owner, comfortable and clean property. Negative: It would be nice to be able to control the heating ourselves, rather than having to ask the owner. FOR US (it need not apply to other people) we now feel that the location is too remote - the narrow track up to the property can be difficult, and it would also be difficult for an ambulance. It can be excessively cold and blowy (I mean literally off your feet) climbing the steep stone steps to the door. Despite knowing the flat, we managed to bash our heads yet again on the very low bedroom ceiling!

The conversion was very tastefully and thoughtfully carried out, and the facilities also very good. Positive: The location was excellent - able to step outside and immediately walk on the moor.

A jewel by the moors in a quiet countryside spot Positive: A great spot near the moors! We had a very comfortable stay despite the very windy winter weather that prevented us from taking a walk on the moors nearby. The Hayloft is very cosy, we lit the fireplace a couple of times, and just snuggled up on the sofa. Everything is well appointed with an eye for beauty. We fully recommend it, and will be very happy to return on another visit to our friends and family who live locally. Just note that a car is a must as it is remote in the countryside, but that's what attracted us. Negative: Nothing!

I had the most oerfect stay in this fabulous little apartment and I can’t rate it highly enough. Positive: It was just perfect. Wonderfully equipped, comfortable, full of character, warm and cosy. The owners have thought of ever. It is positioned right on the edge of the Moor. Negative: Nothing, perhaps if you are very tall you might find the bedroom ceiling being low a challenge.

We had a brilliant stay - everything was spotless and so comfortable. Lots of lovely personal touches and welcome basket. Great views and lots of things to do in the area. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights over the moors, although I don't think that can be guaranteed...

Easy access and check in, made clear from the communication. Apartment was spotless, so clean with some complimentary little bits (fresh eggs, milk, coffee etc). Lots of space, nice and cosy. Plenty space for cars to park too

A lovely apartment in a barn conversion. Beautifully converted, spotless, stylish and well appointed. Right on the edge of the moor! Lovely walks and a peaceful location. Very friendly hosts! And the view is something else! If you want a moorside getaway this is the place! Highly recommended!

Positive: Excelllent accommodation in a picturesque position, with great views, upvon the moors. Negative: Only that the farm track had to be carefully negotiated in the dark.

Positive: Perfectly location, super friendly owners who were very helpful, super cosy accommodation. We would highly recommend this and would love to have stayed a lot longer....we will definitely be back 🙂

Beautiful location and lovely flat. Nice hosts and nice touch with the farm fresh eggs and honey. Just beware of hidden cost! Keep deposit for up to 2 weeks and even if no damage, they keep £10 admin fee. Shame, as otherwise lovely place to stay.

Nice accommodation but problems with Host & Stay Positive: Lovely location. Great views. Comfortable beds. Owners seemed kind (see separate comments on the Host & Stay company). Negative: Host and Stay are dishonest. They took the full payment for the booking and then introduced additional fees that were not advertised. There were extensive ongoing building works next door to property which we didn't know about in advance. It wasn't too bad, but did disturb the sense of peace.

Positive: The place is difficult to get to, but it was warm and comfortable. Negative: I would never recommend anyone using Host and Stay. They were not well informed on the property or its location and the amount of email communication was not helpful.

Beautiful part of the world to stay. Positive: I loved the location of the property very peaceful and beautiful views of the Yorkshire Dales. A lovely relaxing place to unwind. It is a good location to explore neighbouring beautiful villages and plenty of nice pubs and restaurants. Negative: I think if the property had its own outdoor space that would be nice as to maybe BBQ or just sit and look out at the wonderful views.

Would recommend it as a beautiful and tranquil place to stay…right on the edge of the moors, with …. Negative: It would have been great if we could have dried our towels on a warm towel rail. But a small detail!

Enjoyable Stay. Positive: This property was in a beautiful position litruly on top of lLkley Moor, views from outside fantastic. Property very clean and we'll presented but not very big, but definitely cosy. Negative: Very narrow track/road up to property and didn't like the fact that the hot water and heating are controlled from owners accommodation downstairs.

Beautiful, clean apartment, with everything that we needed, with the bonus of being able to walk out of your door and straight onto the beautiful moorland. The wood burner was a lovely addition too. The only downside was the slightly deceptive £25 additional accidental damage waiver fee, which I think should have been made clearer from the start, or just factored into the original cost to avoid confusion. Otherwise, an excellent little place to stay.

Wonderful property right on the dales Positive: The Hayloft was delightful and the owners helpful and friendly. The home was well appointed and scrupulously clean. Salt and pepper would be a good addition to the cupboard, it's not something you think to bring! Negative: The only downside was the endless repetitive long emails from Host and Stay that didn't even send the correct links!
