We travelled as 2 friends with our 2 children. The Hampton was as described and was clean and fresh. There is an ample sized garden/ outdoor area that maybe could do with a clear up but was fine for us to sit outside in the evening. parking was fine. The check in instructions were very clear and went smoothly, the contact we had with the host was answered quickly. It is a 10 to 15 min slow walk to the town through a lovely park. The beach was slightly further but still a nice walk. We would be happy to stay again.

My friend and our children spent Easter weekend here in this lovely apartment. It was a short walk into the town centre. We had a really good time and we found the apartment to our satisfaction and was as described. We had an allocated parking spot at the front door. We ate in the apartment and out. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Location, pretty apartment just a shame about the mattress Positive: Great location, very pretty apartment and a good size for a family of 4. The double doors to the bedrooms are lovely and the outdoor seating area is a bonus for warmer months! Negative: The mattress in the master bedroom was terrible and woke up with back ache. The sofa looks very nice but it’s not a comfortable sofa where you could sit and relax to watch TV at night. The outdoor space could do with a freshen up but given the time of year we stayed it’s understandable.

We stayed at The Hampton for a few days over half term. Location-wise it was excellent. Easy to find and walkable I to Whitby centre. Ideally located to drive north or south along the coast. The place was spotless, very cosy and had all the amenities. Very modernly decorated and really comfy beds. Highly recommend

Lovely holiday overall. We would stay there again. We stayed in The Hampton apartment. Positive: The location was great for walking into Whitby. About a 15 minute walk. The apartment was very nice with quality furnishings. We stayed as a family of 4 including 2 children. There was plenty of room. Negative: We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was in need of a deep clean. The bath towels were very thin and could do with replacing. The kitchen was good, it was lacking a chopping board. I have reported these things to Host & Stay.

Lovely apartment, had everything we needed for a family of four (one being an 8 month old baby). Great location and just a 5 minute walk to the centre of Whitby. The apartment was lovely and clean & the host was very informative. This is the second time we’ve stayed & would 100% return again.

Family getaway Positive: Property was very modern / well decorated good location, 15 min walk to town Negative: Property was tidy but wasn’t exactly clean, we was left a drop of washing up liquid and one dishwasher tablet, no cloth to wipe sides down etc, not too sure what the £60 cleaning fee covers as the place wasn’t clean, some mould on walls too.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Hampton, we slept in the back bedroom which was nice and quiet. The apartment has everything you would need. We will definitely use again.

The apartment is too small for four people. There was only two of us and the living, dining, kitchen area was tight and dark. It doesn't get a lot of natural light. The bedrooms are good and spacious, however the back one again doesn't get as much natural light as it could. Trimming the foliage in the garden would help a great deal. We had a problem with the hob which was not satisfactorily resolved. A few small changes would improve the apartment. The location is very good as is the parking. Host and stay were very attentive.

Fabulous accommodation, bright, airy, modern and everything you need including parking. We had a fabulous time and can’t wait to return. It’s an easy 10-15 minute walk into Whitby centre. The buses were easy to use to visit Ronin hoods bay etc. We enjoyed coffee and wine while soaking up the sunshine in the back garden. Thanks so much. We would highly recommend. Claire & Sue

The decor of the apartment is lovely and restful and thoughtfully done. The layout and facilities were perfect for my friend and I. The accommodation is in a great location for walking into town and for driving to tour the area, with the parking a superb bonus.

A nice pleasant stay especially for two of our party who were visiting from Australia Positive: Location was a little disappointing. We had to take the car into the Town Centre car park as 3 of our party could not have managed the walk back up to the Apartment. Too late we found that there were a number of buses which went from near the Apartment down to the central area. Negative: Written instruction on the use of the TV. Possibly a second TV in the larger bedroom

The Hampton is a very well equipped and high end property in a perfect location only a short walk to the heart of Whitby. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean on my arrival, and felt immediately welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped with many utensils that are often missing in Airbnb properties. The beds were comfortable, and all in all the place has an air of quality and thoughtful design and presentation. There is a small but beautiful garden at the rear of the property, so sheltered that a palm tree grows there - possibly the only palm tree in Whitby! I have close connections to Whitby, and would certainly choose to stay here again in future visits.

Lovely place to stay ! Lovely area and the perfect place to stay , 5 min walk from the town centre ! Lovely comfy beds , a washer/dryer and dishwasher!! Which was an essential for us , such a cosy welcoming place to stay , we stayed for a week and had an amazing time ,They even have an outdoor seating area specifically for guests at the hampton , perfect for summer nights ! We had a beautiful stay at the hampton Thankyou very very much !

Good weekend in Whitby Positive: The property was located in a great location. Negative: The seating area was uncomfortable especially with 4 adults in the apartment.

We chose The Hampton because of its proximity to the town and the included parking, both of which were great. The walk back from town is up a steep hill in case this is a problem for anyone. Although on a busy road, the property was very quiet. There were a few minor things needing attention and we did think the 4pm check-in and 10am checkout was less generous than most. However we did enjoy our stay here and exploring Whitby.

We loved the location of the flat - just a 10 minute walk from the centre. It was modern and tastefully decorated. There were a couple of things that left us disappointed however - the mattress was really uncomfortable and had a huge dip in the middle. There were a couple of areas that were a bit dirty (including the chandeliers above the beds). The TV didn't work (which we wanted for the England game). Although I will say that we couldn't fault their communication. On the whole, our stay was good but not sure it was worth what we paid for it.

Perfect apartment

Beautiful apartment. The place was spotless. Very modern. In a good location. The key box can be a bit challenging to open. Located on a steep hill. Which would be challenging for people who struggle with walking. Although it is on a busy road it’s very quiet. Situated near a park museum and art gallery. Worth a visit. Short walk or drive to the harbour. I would recommend staying at this apartment. It’s lovely. We would use it again.

Good and bad Positive: Great location. Great private parking. Modern and clean. Negative: Very noisy plumbing in the apartment. Very noisy plumbing from apartment above, especially when they all decide to shower one after the around at midnight.

Just returned for a 3 night stay at the beautiful apartment. It’s everything it says in the description. Spotless and furnished beautifully throughout. Can’t recommend this place enough and I will definitely return again. It’s the second time for us and we loved it. Thank you so much.

Disappointing stay. Lack of basics , hand towels , loo paper. And internet bad and unreliable A good old dust and general cleaning would have helped. For the money not up to scratch. Beds lovely and kitchen had all working mod cons

The Hampton is a lovely little apartment, tidy, tastefully decorated and very well equipped (including a proper fridge freezer and not a tiny under counter combo). You can tell that it’s been well thought out in line with modern decor. The kitchen and living area is open plan and well lit. The only con regarding the living area is the sofa isn’t very comfortable for getting cosy and watching TV and there’s no TV in either of the bedrooms - so we were stuck when it was to windy to go out! Was very impressed at how quickly the place heated up. The kitchen and bathroom were very clean, the fridge was spotless and had all the appliances you need. My only slight complaints are some areas of the property (mirrors, skirting boards, cobwebs) seemed to have been neglected during cleaning and for £299 for 2 nights I would’ve expected a higher standard. I would consider staying here again but I think a 1600 check in and 1000 check out time decimates the value for money. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Location a bit of a walk from town on busy road but quiet enough. Parking very handy. Decent kitchen for fettling breakfast and probably could have managed grander meals. No cups to fit coffee machine!

ok but we wouldn’t return Positive: The beds were very uncomfortable cheap mattresses, duvets were flat need replacing, the sofa was two small, scruffy in places.

Comfortable and did the job with good location. Positive: Very good location & easy parking. Heating worked well. Quite small living area & kitchen. Dining table looked over side passage (no view). No welcome pack or basics (eg oil, salt, foil, kitchen towels, cling film etc) which was a shame & unusual for self catering nowadays. TV freeview couldn’t get signal so we didn’t use the TV. Had to chase up to get arrival instructions & kept getting repetitive emails from Host & Stay.

Very modern apartment with good quality furniture and furnishings. Negative: The mattress in the front bedroom sagged in the middle. A table lamp in the lounge area would have made it cosier. There were NO cleaning products except washing up liquid and a dishcloth - so couldn’t do a wipe around. The nespresso coffee machine was leaking. There were no facilities to recycle rubbish - surely a must these days.

Nice apartment. Negative: The house was clean but missed the final details as in both bedroom have lovely low light fixtures but both were very dusty and there were cobwebs from light fixtures to corners of rooms in both bedrooms. Nice apartment but lack of towels and only one shower gel package was disappointing .would not say book but please owner think about skirting boards etc….

I Liked everything about the stay place was great . Whitby is great . Only annoyance for me was after I booked and paid was sent a link outside of Airbnb to pay for insurance £25 not returnable or leave a £250 deposit which would be returned minus £10 admin within 28 days. Maybe I should have read more details but I did not expect to pay for something outside of Airbnb on an external link. I only tell you this in review so you can take heed of extra charges which were not apparent to me. Beyond that We had a great time in a great place In a great Location. A credit to the cleaners as the place was spotless.

Great location, truly lovely apartment inside and out. Positive: A true hidden gem, done to a high standard. A home away from home, has everything you need including a washer dryer. Private parking was a complete bonus. Negative: There’s nothing not to like about the property.

A disaster Positive: There wasn’t one thing I liked about the property. No heating and no hot water all weekend . Got moved to another apartment in the same building and there was no hot water or heating in there Negative: Same as above

Nice location, nice apartment, issues that have been highlighted previously have not been addressed Positive: Good location, clean, nicely decorated Negative: Parking was difficult when all 3 apartments were booked as you are entering the property from a main road with the dropped curb only covering part of the driveway. Pulling on to the driveway (cant reverse on as the road is to busy) meant reversing off onto a main road which was dangerous. Hot tap on sink was loose, left hand shower handle was very stiff and needed force to turn on and off (been highlighted before by other guests) bed at the front of the property was awful and we had to move to the other bed as the mattress felt very used and very uncomfortable and squeaked at the slightest movement (previous reviews have highlighted this last year). Key to the front door was difficult at times to unlock as the lock needed some wd40. The sofa looked lovely, but so uncomfortable. Kitchen was lovely but no workspace to prepare food. Also be aware that once you have paid for the property the refundable damage payment there is a deduction of £10 on return for admin

Disappointing Positive: I stayed here 2 years ago and I choose to come back as it has a parking space and it’s a short walk into the old town, it has a well equipped kitchen Negative: This time I was greeted by dirty ,stained sofas, dust,cobwebs,badly rusted towel rail in bathroom and toilet roll holder, clogged up and dirty extractor fan in bathroom. The largest of the beds was 2single mattresses that are supposed to zip together and one of the mattresses was completely collapsed making it impossible to sleep on. Thank fully Host and Stay sorted and alternative accommodation for us but we did spend our first day wandering Whitby whilst waiting for phone calls and emails to sort out situation

A very nice house consisting of 3 apartments, walkable distance to the city centre, all modern and clean! Comfortable bed, good pressure in the shower, overall a wonderful experience.

Comfortable Apartment but Cleanse not up to Standards Positive: Good location, tastfull style property, and comfortable. Negative: The toilet was dirty. The tea towel was dirty. No cleaning products and no toiletries and not even hand-wash in the bathroom. We had to go out and buy these products ourselves. And clean the apartment ourselves as we didn't feel comfortable high standard of cleaning was met. Also, there was a dirty mark on the rug.

Positive: location . communication . decor parking. Negative: bed/mattress (easy fix) needs attention urgently. shower base /seal needs deep cleaning or replacing . t.v kept freezing. loss of signal .I'm not sure why? instructions for Hob could be helpful.

Very clean and modern with a nice outdoor space and the bonus of a parking space. 10 minute walk into town. Hosts very responsive to help. Would recommend.

Lovely little apartment within walking distance in to Whitby town (bit of a hill, but keeps you fit!). Great communication from Host & Stay, you get your own little digital guidebook which was super handy for our holiday! Even better that there was parking on site. For the price I would expect a bit more of a comfy bed and maybe some instructions on how to work the cooker and hob. The small bin in the toilet hadn’t been emptied from previous tenants and one of our towels was frayed. Other than that, great little apartment!

We had a relaxing stay in this beautiful apartment. Everything was in pristine condition and the pros included very comfortable beds, free parking and a pretty and private sitting area outside, which caught the afternoon and evening sun. Cons were some noise from the adjoining apartments (not too annoying) and the steep walk back up the hill from town. Kept us fit though!

A cosy, well equipped apartment on an amazing road, a short and fabulous walk away from the centre of Whitby. We had a fantastic few days of walks, food and drink.

Overall this is a great little apartment, in a very convenient location in walking distance to the town. However the road is very busy, and there is traffic noise in the morning. The accommodation is comfortable and very clean, but does lack any storage space in the kitchen for your own items of food etc. The appliances are excellent, and all well maintained. The rooms are all decorated very tastefully, and to a good standard. We had a nice stay here and would recommend to others for a short break in Whitby!

Heerlijk appartement en mooie ligging. Positive: De ruime slaapkamers en ruime badkamer. Negative: In de woonkamer kun je niet met 4 volwassenen makkelijk op de bank zitten. Maar voor de rest was alles prima.

It was a good stay and we would have rated it excellent had it not been for problems with shower and lavatory. Positive: Easy access, welcome pack, information folder, large beds, bed linen, WiFi , space - particularly outside space. Well signed designated parking. Quick response to problems. Negative: The shower looked good walk in and with hand held and deluge head. Unfortunately the switch button was faulty and we were unable to shower. This was partially rectified after being reported but hand set still didn’t function. Toilet seat fixings broken and seat insecure.

Moderne Ferienwohnung in Whitby Positive: - Moderne Ferienwohnung. - Neue Innenausstattung. - Pkw-Stellplatz auf dem Grundstück (max. 2 Fahrzeuge). - Terrasse hinter dem Haus. - Nahe Stadtzentrum (ca. 10 min Fußweg). Negative: - Wohnküche war innen gelegen. Tageslicht kam nur durch die Haustüre rein. - Die Ferienwohnung liegt an einer stark befahrenen Straße. - Die Toilette war nicht sauber. - Das Geschirr haben wir bei Ankunft erst mal komplett in die Spülmaschine gestellt.

The apartment is exactly as seen on the website. It is spacious, clean and well located. The bedrooms are carefully dressed and the beds comfy. At night, when you're in the bedrooms you can hear people talking and walking around in the other apartments. However it's not loud, more like being able to hear people in a neighbouring hotel room. The outside seating area is lovely and it's great to have a parking space. We had a great visit to Whitby and the surrounding area. It's a short walk to the beach and town centre - 20 mins - with some hilly bits. We would recommend Pizza West, fantastic food and wine. It maybe best to book in advance of your visit as we struggled to get a table. The kitchen in the apartment has everything thing you need. Unfortunately we did have a serious problem with the fridge. After a few days we realised our milk had gone off prematurely. We then wondered why our fruit hadn't lasted anywhere near as long as we would expect. We had a fridge thermometer in our camper van and we established that the fridge was running at an unsafe temperature which explained why our food was going off long before the dates on the packets. This included gifts we had bought (Yorkshire cheese and Kippers - if you're a kipper fan check out Fortune's kippers). We were lucky not to be ill and we had to throw the rest of our fridge food away because we knew it may not be safe to eat. We reported this to the hosting company suggesting it needed to be fixed before anyone else stayed there. They acknowledged our concern and said they would tell the owner but we weren't sure they really understood just how dangerous this could have been. We feel we must mention it so future guests can take more care if they wish and hopefully the hosts will be able to reassure guests that it is definitely sorted out. The instructions for arrival all worked well and there was a constant stream of texts and email messages from the management company. When everything was going well this was fine. When we had a problem with the fridge it was a bit trickier. It wasn't the same person consistently responding to our messages. This meant that whilst responses were quick it felt as if there was no thread to the conversation. It was as if each person replying just responded to the previous message and hadn't necessarily read the thread of messages. Communication felt rather impersonal and as if some responses were from a script. I suspect we wouldn't have noticed or been bothered by this if we hadn't had a problem. We have given value for money a low rating. This is because when we visited there were a few things wrong with the apartment which we would have not expected for the price charged. Each one is minor and not very significant but put altogether with the fridge temperature we started to question the price. They included no tea towels, nowhere to put your soap or shower gel in the shower, no instructions on how to work the shower, induction hob or coffee maker, a rattling bedroom door (it had fallen out of alignment with the frame) whenever people moved around upstairs, an out of date bottle of milk left in the fridge and some slightly dirty crockery. Host and Stay did send 'housekeeping' with tea towels, offered to clean the crockery and said they would tell the owner about the door and the need for somewhere to put soap in the shower so hopefully this will all be okay for future guests.
