Lovely apartment with everything you could need Car parking space was a bonus didn’t need to use the car as can walk into town Having the outside space was wonderful for our dog

We had a fantastic time. Positive: The property was just what we needed. It worked well for all of us, even the dog. It is a great location, quiet but easy access to the town and station. The property was clean and well equiped. We were warm and cosy and slept well in the comfy beds. The parking was fantastic and I would definatly recommend this property to others. Negative: We were not sent the gate code before we got to the property and then using the access pad to the garage was hard because the entry key pad was warn. The pad was not the same as the gate pad which didn't help. We also struggled to access the key box. The mechanism was not easy like some. It was a bit like doing an 'eskape room' :) !!!! The women I spoke to in the office were really helpful though.

had a 2 night stay at the property. ✅️check in was really easy, clear instructions. 🅿️car park was a great peace of mind as opposed to street parking, space was easy to get into and helpful being a corner spot. 🧹property was clean, to a v.good standard. places to hang coats/dog lead and boots. 🛏beds weren't especially comfortable for personal preference (quite hard) duvets a bit thin for time of year but was heating and blankets in the living room if needed. rooms are good size 🪴yard to the rear was handy, nice to have private space 🍴facilities we used were good; fridge/kettle/toaster all in great order. can't inform of oven/dishwasher etc as we didn't use them- dishwashing tablets were provided. well stocked on crockery etc. 🚿shower was lovely, powerful and hot. 🚽toilet lid can be a bit slammy if used to a soft close at home! 🖥 tv doesn't have an aerial so can only use a few apps. chromecast so can cast itv from phone. overall, happy and already looking to return

Great apartment, but a little disappointed with Host & Stay Positive: The apartment was fantastic. Very spacious, which was perfect for the dog (more spacious than the photos give it credit for). It was well-equipped and very clean. Parking space is a great addition. Negative: Sadly, Host & Stay let the property down a little (I believe they act as a middle man and therefore just deal with the booking side of things). Despite all correspondence saying that check in is at 3pm (the booking.com app and website/ the booking confirmation/ the host & stay website and the guidebook they sent/ other sites online/ several booking confirmation emails from Host & Stay, including their specific approval when we said we would be arriving at 3pm/ previous reviews from other people), we were told just a couple of days before arrival that check in is actually 4pm. We attempted to reach out to Host & Stay about this, but they absolutely wouldn’t budge.

Excellent location for our weekend away in Whitby! A five minute walk from the beaches but far enough away from the noise of the centre was ideal for us and our two dogs. Accommodation was just as the pictures showed and the welcome/information app was a fantastic addition. Couldn’t recommend more, 10/10.

Decent Spot, great parking! Positive: The parking was excellent underneath the property. The location was pretty good. Not far from the station. Having two bedrooms was a bonus. There was an outside space but the weather wasn't good enough to enjoy it. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was useful. Negative: We would have liked to have a TV in the bedroom. The place did have a smell of wet dog when we arrived so we bought air fresheners. There didn't seem to be may channels on the lounge TV but we did watch a DVD.

We had a great stay at the Eskape. Clean, well furnished in an ideal location. Would definately choo Positive: The Eskape was ideal, clean and very comfortable, great location within five minutes walking distance of the station and habour. Great place to stay for a couple or two couples. The onsite secure parking garage is a real bonus. we would definately choose the Eskape again. Negative: Could add an ashtray and allow smoking in the outside yard. Everything else is great, its clean well furnished and modern.

The property itself was as described, nice and a good location. Parking especially was very useful and secure. I would probably not look to book anything managed by host and stay though in future if possible. After first demanding an additional fee before they would release the address and check in details, after paying for the initial booking, it was also very unclear how to even go about this process. I had to contact them three times to even be able to pay this unexpected premium. Also the repeated SMS, email and Airbnb messaging throughout the stay had chastising tones of making sure you behave and not break anything as if we were 16 year olds on a first trip without our parents. As a couple in our 40s (who had also incidentally just paid them a damage premium to be able to even stay there) it felt a little condescending and above all irritating. In summary place was great but I would avoid the host company for an independent in future.

Great weekend with great friends Positive: Whole apartment was really lovely and comfortable everything you could want great location Negative: The main door lock one day took us 10 mins to get in the staff member I spoke to on the phone want very helpful my husband eventually got us in a bit of a panicky moment luckily it was late afternoon and not nighttime

There was only 1 small hand towel & 1 medium towel pp which wasn't adequate

Positive: It had the best equipped kitchen of any holiday let we've ever stayed in! We were there around Christmas and appreciated the decorations and extra 'Christmassy' touches!

Amazing place. So well equipped, comfortable and great location. Good communication and information too. A bit more expensive than weve paid before in other accomodations, but worth it. Wish we couldve stayed longer. It would be a perfect place for longer stays. Everything had been thought of. We will be back.

Home from home Positive: Lovely and clean, comfortable, well equipped. Appreciate the extra bits like blankets and throws, washing and dishwasher tablets, etc. Theres books and games, torches, plenty of pots and pans, tea, coffee etc. Lovely private courtyard, and excellent secure parking. 5 min walk to the town. Negative: Nothing. This is our third stay here, its awesome.

Overall we had a lovely stay at The Eskape. It’s a really lovely, modern wee flat. Spotlessly clean and has everything you’d need for a short break. The courtyard area to the back is particularly lovely. Added bonus of having safe and secure parking. We were delighted when we arrived to have found such a lovely place.

We had a great trip. The apartment was clean, access was easy, and the on-site secured car parking space with additional on-street parking available was an added bonus. The apartment is a short walk to Whitby town centre, which makes visiting local restaurants and pubs very simple. There are plenty of takeaways as well as a co-op nearby! I would definitely stay again.

Very well appointed apartment, nicely decorated, well equipped and comfortable. There was a high quality entertainment system available but we didn’t get round to using it as we used it as a base. Quiet area, no neighbour noise, hoover, iron and ironing board available. Very much recommended by us.

Perfect location, had parking underneath block which was a great extra - older houses deep in the older part of Whitby did t seem to have this and great that its gated and secure.

We had a comfortable base, right on the doorstep of Whitby’s main attractions Positive: Comfortable and good central location and good parking Negative: Limited/unappealing outdoor space ; We found the joining instructions were slightly confusing, and didn’t think the non-returnable damage waiver was fair.

Well equipped ground floor flat with private parking. Quiet location but short walk to centre of Whitby.

The apartment is lovely - small, but perfectly formed! It is easy to find with satnav. The only (small) criticism is the parking space is tricky to get into - the space itself has plenty of room, but the construction of the carpark (the gates, many pillars and a narrow 'road') make for a tricky manoeuvre in and out, but this is a minor observation as a car parking place in Whitby is fantastic! The apartment is well equipped, clean and has the bonus of an outside seating area, which is a bonus on a sunny evening. It is an easy walk into central Whitby, but coming back does require either steep steps and a sharp slope or a longer hill, however my elderly mother managed (with a few breaks to look at the view!). We would definitely stay here again - clean, well-equipped, central and with parking. Everything you need. The Hosts are excellent too - easy to contact and responsive.

We enjoyed Whitby but the oroperty was disappointing and in my view unacceptable to stay in. Positive: Good location and the parking spot was a real bonus. Negative: Property is need off a deep clean. The living area is surface clean only. The bedroom was dusty and had mould growing up the bedroom wall and around the doors. Bedding was unkempt.

Lovely stay lovely apartment let down by host and stay Positive: Location, parking, cleanliness has everything we needed Negative: The hidden charges, even though they say they’re not hidden I wasn’t aware of them till I received the email after charges are 250.00 taken till the apartment was checked if everything was ok I would receive my money back but would be changed an admin fee of 10.00 or the choice of paying 25.00 one off fee first time using host and stay they gave us wrong pass code numbers and wrong check out times didn’t make the end of trip enjoyable having to rush about and pack as the cleaners turned up

Positive: Very clean. Well equipped comfy Negative: Check in at 3 was ok but leaving before 10am i thought was too early. Paid for a two night stay and felt like 1 and half instead.

Whitby is lovely shame about having to change our own beds and clean the oven and kitchen. Positive: The decor and location. The owners were lovely and very responsive. Shane their ‘cleaner ‘ had let them and the apartment down. Negative: How dirty the apartment was on arrival and beds not changed. The cleaner was supposed to come, when we went out for a few hrs and back on arrival, still hadn’t been!

Positive: It was pleasant and comfortable and the location was great. The courtyard was lovely. Negative: We did not know until after we had paid to book that an extra £250 would be held from our account unless we paid an insurance premium. This was a cost, which we felt should have been included with the cost to stay. As it was it seemed hidden up front.

Great location, but unclean, unhygienic, and unsafe Positive: Location was great Negative: Sadly experienced a very unclean apartment on arrival - dirty kitchen, stained bed sheets, a toilet that had very much NOT been cleaned, dust, cobwebs and hairs everywhere... unfortunately the list goes on. There were dozens and dozens of little flies around on arrival that meant we couldn't use the kitchen or eat in the apartment for most of our stay as they descended on to open food and drink. There was no smoke alarm - this had clearly been taken off the ceiling and was just dangling wires. We attempted to resolve our issues with Host and Stay numerous times whilst we were there and are yet to receive a response to a complaint we left with them three weeks ago. Terrible experience - I would like reassurance from Host and Stay that the smoke alarm is in order and that the apartment is actually safe and clean for future guests!

Nice stay in Whitby - great location Positive: Location was good. Negative: Lots of gnats in the property. Shower screen was too small. Nowhere to dry towels. Garage was pretty tight it took a lot to get in and out of the space.

The Eskape is 5 -10 minutes walk from harbour in a quiet and peaceful location. there is a short steep incline up to it and my elderly mum who is very fit for her age did need a stop to catch her breath and noted if you had poor mobility it would be a struggle. I had my car if we went out more than once during the day but could limit times if you didn't. The apartment itself was extremely clean, very comfy beds, lovely big shower, everything had been catered for. Lovely bonus of private courtyard at back of apartment if weather was warm enough to sit out. Highly recommended if visiting whitby. Clare

Small but we’ll equipped apartment within a few minutes’ walk of the harbour. A good place for a base for 3 days whilst visiting Whitby and the surrounding area.

Ideal! Positive: Beautiful apartment with everything you need for a home away from home. Very clean and well appointed. The decor is lovely and modern, beds are very comfortable and free on site parking is a bonus. The outside courtyard space is ideal for an evening glass of wine when the weather is warm. All in all, ideal accommodation for a holiday

This apartment is in a good location and an easy walk into the centre of Whitby, it’s in a quiet location and the modern apartment block in which it’s situated is very well kept. The on-site secure parking is great (please note we couldn’t get into the car park with our roof box on - not a problem though as we took it off and stored it in the car park bay during our stay). Check in instructions were great and easy to follow. The apartment itself wasn’t as clean as we’d expected (although the towels, bedding and bathroom were clean). The living areas would benefit from a good clean and a little more attention to detail on changeovers between guests. We arrived to find the dishwasher full of dirty plate’s, cups, glasses and cutlery. The outside patio area needs to be cleaned and tidied and the patio furniture washed so that we could have used it. One of the dining room chairs had a sticky mark left on it and we needed to cover it with paper towel so that we could use it.

A lovely weekend in Whitby Positive: Loved the location, it was within walking distance of everything. The handy digital guide gave us great recommendations for places to eat and visit. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very cosy for our evenings in front of the telly! We really enjoyed our stay. Negative: The booking site promised bathroom toiletries but there were none when we arrived, so I would recommend popping some in your bag just in case. Also there was a kitchen roll provided as our spare toilet roll which was rather strange!
