Nice weekend away Positive: Very well equipped cottage in an excellent location right by a lovely beach with clean sand in both directions. We walked to Saltburn one day and towards Redcar the next. Marske has a few independant shops and nice little bars plus a really good pizza place, and the train station wasn't too far away on foot.

Great place, fantastic location. We loved being so close to the sea. House was clean and tidy and had everything we needed.

Beautiful place to stay, everything you need for a UK break is right on your doorstep. Positive: Beautiful spacious, cosy cottage with sea views. The beach is stunning. The properly is easy to access without a car. We got the train from Blackpool and the property is just a short walk from the train station. There’s boxes with paddle boards and buckets and spades on the beach for people to borrow which we thought was lovely. We took a walk down to Saltburn and spent the day exploring which was great and also took a trip to Redcar beach and amusements. There’s plenty of things to do and the cliff top walks are so beautiful. This trip was extremely good value for money, we will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Sehr gemütliches Cottage, sehr stilvoll im Thema Meer und Strand eingerichtet. Vom Wohnzimmer ein toller Blick auf Meer und Strand. Der Garten auf der Rückseite lädt auch zum Verweilen ein. Direkter Zugang zum Strand. Es ist toll am Strand oder an den Klippen nach Saltburn zu Laufen. Supermarkt auch fußläufig erreichbar.

Perfect specious cottage in a great location next to the sea Positive: A wonderful cottage in perfect location Our visit was in November and we arrived around 19:00 to an already warmed cottage which was a lovely touch The cottage had everything you could need and was very spacious and clean, it also had a cute little back garden if needed. A really good base for walking the coastal path. By using the excellent public transport we were able to walk from the mouth of the Tees to Runswick Bay in five easy walks. With one exception we were always able to park the car on the road below Cliff Terrace within view of the house, but I expect that this would not always be possible in the height of Summer. The cottage was clean and as described and everything worked perfectly. It was wonderful to be able to sit in bed and see the waves on the beach and we would recommend this property. Being owned by a company rather than an individual the communication was rather impersonal, and I got the impression that messages were responded to by AI rather than a real person. For example we were there there there was no recycling bin and when I contacted the company for advice I just received a copy and paste reply from the house manual. As no useful advice was forthcoming we just had to leave the recycling bagged up in the kitchen.

Lovely stay in seaside cottage Positive: Beautiful cottage in a great location, loved being so near the sea. Plenty of shops in Marske all within easy walking distance, good transport links (train and bus) and lots of coast to explore on the doorstep. Negative: Nothing

My daughter & I spent 5 nights at number 7 cliff terrace. Loved the location and views. House had everything we needed and as advertised. Would definitely return. Host very responsive & helpful. Going to miss the Sunrises from the bedroom window!

Cute and surprisingly spacious house in the perfect location for the beach at Marske. It’s also close to lots of shops and restaurants. Our family of four loved our visit and definitely would visit again.

Gorgeous house, beautiful scenery, just the parking. Positive: Location was absolutely gorgeous. Beach down the road and not far from Marske town centre. Everyone around the area were really nice and treated us like locals. My family are from Marske so it was like I never left. Negative: The only downside to this property was unfortunatley, the parking. There is no specific space for number 7 and nobody would allow us to park the car outside their property which I completely understand. Cliff house which is a residential care home allowed us to park there thanks to the lovely manager Stacey.

Disappointed Positive: The location and view, but this did not include the parking. Negative: The loose sink, loose towel rail, sunken bathroom door, exposed carpet tacks which myself and my son cut our feet on, shower that didn't drain, lack of headboard on children's bed and exposed radiator edge behind the bed, lamp in child's room that could only be turned off at the socket switch and was covered in pillows?!, downstairs TV not tuned in, very small seating area in kitchen. No space immediately inside for shoes, coats etc especially when coming in from the beach.

This cottage is everything you need, instantly from walking through the door it feels like home, the location is perfect. The host was both informative and friendly recommended lots of places to go. The cottage is perfect for exploring the beach and is only a few minutes away. There is a costal walk into Saltburn or plenty of buses to explore Middlesbrough over to Whitby. A real must stay cottage and we will be back.

Ideal base for me visiting friends and relatives. Great base and thoroughly enjoyed stay in cottage. Positive: Great location for walking along beach to Redcar or Saltburn. Also North Yorks Moors only short drive away. Property was clean and tidy and had everything you could need. Beautiful view of sunrise from upstairs bedroom with views over the beach and. Sand dunes. Negative: No major faults only personal preferences. I prefer an upstairs bathroom and did not like the fact I had to close wooden shutters to stop passers by looking through front window, blinds would have been better.

Positive: De rustige ligging aan het mooie strand, Ideaal voor wie rust, ruimte en natuur zoekt. Het dorpje is ook heel leuk en niet al te touristisch Negative: De buurman die ons 2 weken lang getreiterd heeft. Wij konden onze auto niet kwijt doordat hij de helft van onze plek innam en na vriendelijk vragen ook niet van plan was om ons meer ruimte te geven. Volgens een andere buur deed hij dat bij alle gasten van de vakantiewoning. Dit aangegeven bij onze host, maar die heeft hier niet op gereageerd! Dit heeft onze vakantie redelijk verpest. Ondanks alle pluspunten aan deze vakantiewoning geen aanrader dus. Verder, geen vitrage/ gordijnen in de keuken. Wij wisten niet dat andere buren het recht van overpad hebben dmv een poort in de schutting. In een van de eerste dagen gedoucht en stond vrijwel zonder kleding in de keuken, toen er ineens iemand voorbij kwam en die keek ook nog naar binnen 🤢 De grote slaapkamer heeft witte lamellen, geen gordijnen. Echt een zee van licht, kwam dus moeilijk in slaap en werd daardoor ook weer heel vroeg wakker. Er was geen kapstok om jassen aan op te hangen

Positive: Besonders hat mir die Nähe zum Meer gefallen. Ich konnte es vom Bett aus sehen und auch vom Wohnzimmer aus. Das Cottage ist sehr gemütlich und gut ausgestattet. Eine unglaubliche Ruhe, die sehr entspannend war. Supermarkt und Bus fußläufig zu erreichen. Negative: Mir fällt nichts ein

Had a great stay everything that was needed and the beach on the doorstep. Positive: The location was great open the door and the sea was 50 meters away. The facilities were good had everything that we needed. Rooms were very spacious. Negative: As an older traveller who likes a bath I would have liked handles on the bath sides to help getting out.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a great location to explore this beautiful coast line Positive: Location was fab, right on the beach. Negative: Nothing we didn’t like about the cottage. Just a shame the small town didn’t have more amenities. But for a short stay had enough.

Great location and lovely characterful house. Didn’t have a travel cot which was stated and had to go through Airbnb support to get it sorted. Host and stay replied pretty quick but had issues with communication and sent the house keeper who was dropping off the travel cot to the wrong house so we waited 2 hours before it came which meant it disturbed the whole evening waiting around and not being able to put our child to bed. They didn’t seem that bothered and didn’t give any partial refund for the inconvenience caused. Also we weren’t aware until the day before the booking that we had to pay £25 for accidental damage cover otherwise we wouldn’t get the details to stay. I feel like this needed to be made clearer when booking as it was an added cost or should be part of the cost when booking initially.

Lovely cottage in a great location ideal for the beach and walking in to the centre. Great walks along the dog friendly beaches. Just a couple of niggles, the bathroom was downstairs but it clearly states on the details it is upstairs which was a little bit annoying. Also the tiled floors were still very wet from cleaning, a wipe over with a dry mop would have been appreciated to avoid any slips. Kitchen missed kitchen roll but apart from that we had a great time and look forward to visiting Marske again in the near future

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. The only thing that let it down slightly was the back garden being a bit overgrown and in need of weeding, we would have definitely used this space more had it been a bit more taken care of. Everything else was as described. Plenty of room for my husband and I and our 2 year old. Parking is not really available directly outside the property, however it is readily available on the street leading down to the beach which is a 30 second walk away. The neighbours were also very amenable to us parking outside the cottage to load and unload our car. Overall the cottage is lovely and we would definitely book again!

Had a lovely weekend break at the cottage, it’s perfect spot for a seaside visit. Waking up and looking out at the beach was marvellous. The cottage had everything we needed and Charlie was always responsive to my emails. Would definitely come back to stay again!

Didn’t enjoy the stay here. Parking was awful, if you’re not a confident driver this isn’t a place for you, it was too quiet for us as we like some ambient noise but this was too quiet. There was a lot of dust around the fireplace, the shutters for the downstairs window didn’t close properly, the windows upstairs were extremely stiff to open, the stairs were very creaky , a lot of the property could use with an update. I left an item there by accident , they told me they had guests arriving at 4pm then told me they couldn’t get anyone to the property to check etc (they had plenty of time , over 24 hours) They offered me late checkout and then when I went to book it told me I couldn’t. A lot of their messaging seems automated. Will not be coming back here!

Beautiful beach just at the bottom of the street. Facing east so caught sunrise and morning sun. Pretty and sheltered back garden. Very stylish beach decor and accessories in all the house. Cleanliness was a problem: Fusty smell downstairs from damp mop in cupboard. Stale smell on sofas and in the front bedroom maybe from old worn carpets. Front windows covered in greasy handprints spoilt the view. Hairs and dust on floors in living room and bathroom. Very hair clogged plug in bath/ shower. Better cleaning between lets by Host and Stay and some minor maintenance would make this a 5 star review

We enjoyed our stay. The village was scenic, quiet and peaceful. It was a nice change to the more touristy places we visited during the day. The place was reasonably clean and included the essentials. The communication was prompt and courteous. We stayed for 3 nights and as we are touring around for 3 weeks, we cooked most of our meals during our stay. We had everything we needed. If you are planning on staying for a few days, I’d recommend bringing extra supplies like a scrub brush for cleaning dishes (only a jcloth is supplied) extra tea towels, hand towels, laundry detergent and some toilet paper. We would stay here again!

The cottage is a wonderful little getaway. The location is excellent, beautiful scenery from the main bedroom. It is modern and very clean and has everything you should need whilst away. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the rooms light and airy. It is genuinely lovely. My only drawback would be the parking, but I was fully aware that you couldn't park outside and there was advice as to where you could park, just a stones throw away. I just underestimated this with my 80 year old Mum and when we got back one day to find parking was unavailable, it would've been a long walk. And given my Mum has dementia, I couldn't drop and leave her. That said, we circled for about 20 mins and someone left so despite initial panic, all ended well. Just something to keep in mind.

Lovely house next to beach Positive: Location was great- next to beach and short drive to other places. Negative: It needs black out curtains or a blind in the main bedroom so you can sleep for longer in the mornings! Also there were a lot of cobwebs around!

Comfortable. Positive: Lovely location, property was nice and comfortable. However I don’t think the beds are really suitable if 4 adults were staying, we struggled with a tall 14 year old. The main bedroom was comfortable, but the sheet was ripped. Negative: Parking was an issue, if you couldn’t get parked on the slope to the beach then basically you had nowhere to park.

A great place to stay, lovely location right on the beach and also close to Craigs bakehouse, Rose and Potter, Gilbeys and Talking Tides, all are must do's!!

Okay Negative: On leaving the key safe would not open to return the keys, my taxi was imminent so I rang Host and Stay and asked what I should do with the keys the lady I spoke to said she would get in touch with the cleaners and put me on hold for over 10 minutes ( I had explained my taxi was imminent) I was then cut off and when I phoned back was again put on hold and cut off again. I knocked on the neighbours at no 8 and spoke to the lady who lived there who agreed to take the key from me although she said they would be going out later on, I said I would ring Host and Stay and let them know. I left a note in letterbox of cottage to say where the key was. My taxi had now arrived so I had to go, I tried ringing Host and Stay during the next half hour or so on journey home but could not get through. When home I rang again and eventually got through after explaining what had happened the lady I spoke to said she could see that I had rung and the cleaners were at the cottage. I had already explained that I knew how to use the key safe as I have stayed at the premises 5 times previously I said I was not very happy that although I had explained my taxi was imminent I was put n hold and could not get to speak to anyone. There was no apology for the stress and inconvenience and when I said I was quite disgusted with the way I was treated I was just asked if I could remember to leave a review at which point I hung up!!!!!

Poor house keeping

A very homely and clean place. We’ve stayed before and are big fans; it’s beautiful! I totally understand the need to send emails with essential info and inventory — that’s fine — but there were too many emailed reminders that weren’t needed. I’m on the Autistic spectrum and find excessive messaging stressful. We didn’t need repeated reminders of the booking. But that’s the only criticism; it was otherwise really lovely! Thank you.

Just had a lovely stay. The accommodation was extremely clean with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. The lounge is a good size with a range of different seats. The outside seating area was great for relaxing in the sun. Marske is a nice area with a variety of restaurants and is walkable to Saltburn. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage overlooking the sea in a great little town. Perfect for a little family trip to the seaside. Cottage is well equipped and clean. The feedback I would give is that lack of curtains/roller blinds in the main bedroom mean the room is very bright (especially in summer) which can make it difficult to sleep. Additionally as it’s run by company they try to upsell certain things such as extra nights and early check-in/late check out- some of the responses seem AI generated too.

A great little place to stay by the beach Positive: The location right by the beach was perfect, and it was only a short walk into the centre of Marske. The cottage had everything you would need. The beds were comfortable. There is also a great little suntrap of a rear courtyard garden. Negative: I feel it could do with a little tlc in some areas - there were a few things that could do with fixing, such as a kitchen under cupboard light which was detached and a pipe cover that was merely propped up.

Charming cottage, creatively decorated. Perfect location for beach lovers. Negative: The pans! Poor, quality, not flat, burnt inside and totally inappropriate for the stove. Would be worth investing in 1 or 2 good quality, flat bottomed pans. Would use less electricity too.

Stunning location with surroundings of coast and countryside. Ideal base for exploring that area of the coast. Beautifully peaceful. Stunning beach. Very homely seaside retreat. Loved the views of the sea from the front windows. Couldn’t believe how close to beach it is. Everything you could need in Marske, shops, takeaways etc and walkable to Saltburn along the beach (only 2 miles). Will definitely return.

Lovely cottage with sea views Positive: Spacious lounge and kitchen, very comfortable. Kitchen very well equipped. Heating was easy to use. Lovely views and garden with seating to rear though we didn't use. Beds were comfortable, though one in rear bedroom was a bit low. Plenty of storage space. A good supply of toys games and books for all ages. Negative: No parking adjacent to property made loading and unloading more difficult but able to park nearby. A handrail on stairs and chair in rear bedroom would have been helpful.

Lovely spacious cottage with views of the sea Positive: Super, quiet location with great views. Clean and comfortable - lots of space/seating in the living room. Visited in October and heating was effective- house was lovely and warm. No parking directly outside but we were able to drop bags off and park at the top of the slipway. This was my second visit and sure I’ll be back. Negative: The shower was ok but not as powerful as we’d have liked. Couldn’t find a peeler or grater when cooking. Not deal breakers and certainly wouldn’t put me off staying again.

A light and spacious house in a lovely, quiet location with good views Positive: The location was great. The house was spacious and light. Negative: Not so much a dislike just advice for the hosts - some doors and cupboard doors could use some WD40 as they were squeaky.

The location is great if you are wanting quiet and peaceful , you can walk into saltburn and get the bus back if you wanted . Negative: The only thing I would say is the back bedroom bed is really hard and not comfy

Positive: The location was fabulous, a sea view, perfect for a few days stay. Negative: I think it could have cleaner. Some of the shelves and surfaces were dusty and there was sand in the living room when we arrived. There was no parking at the property but there was always room to park further up the road.

And just be aware limited parking, the neighbours DONT like it if you park outside their house. There are spaces on the slipway so ok if you are able bodied. We loved it and want to stay again x

It was really nice, had everything we needed, parking a bit of a problem..also would be good to have had upstairs bathroom.. but ideal for a quiet & refreshing break.

The property was a good base for a short break and had great access to the beach. Only issue was not being able to get parked anywhere near the property.

Holiday cottage Positive: Love the location of this property, close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants.It is spacious and well equipped. The lounge furniture is perfect for an evening of relaxation after a day trip out. Beds and pillows are comfortable and bedding lovely and clean. Negative: The lounge was dusty and there were a few dead flies on the windowsill on arrival. The double bedroom was dusty too. Provisions provided were limited in this property compared to other self catering properties. There was only one toilet roll which was wrapped and described as "Emergency toilet roll" for 4 people for 3 nights and there was a lack of cleaning products in the bathroom and kitchen.

What a lovely place to stay for a few days! Would definitely like to come back.

Great place to stay

We really liked the location. Parking was fine at this time of year, but it might be harder in the summer. The top floor was locked behind a door, which made us laugh about what secrets might be hiding up there, maybe a ghost with a strict no-guests policy! Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable house with good amenities and great access to the beach. Positive: The location was perfect for us, just a few steps from the beach and not far from public transport. Well furnished and decorated. Good kitchen, nice bathroom. Wonderful view from the front window. Negative: Disappointed to learn shortly before travelling that a security deposit was required. It would have been better to pay when booking. It was cold and rainy the first days but we couldn't work out the heating. A file with instructions for some details would be helpful, especially for visitors from abroad.

Beautiful Air bnb, highly recommend. It is a gem. A couple of minor issues, too trivial to mention here, were highlighted to the Host, with promise of being addressed for next guests. We WILL be back. Thank you.

A (usually) lovely cottage in an beautiful setting. Positive: I have stayed here twice before and the cottage is lovely in an excellent position. Negative: For the first time the kitchen was really lacking, no cleaning products, anywhere in the cottage, no washing up liquid, no kitchen roll. The kitchen was extremely grubby, the kettle microwave and coffee maker were all dirty, the fridge shelves had to be wiped down (just with a wet cloth as there were no cleaning products) and the work tops and chopping board needed a good clean, The ornaments and tv remote in the lounge were very dusty. When I have stayed before the place has been spotless. I had to go and buy some cleaning products the next morning and give the kitchen a good clean. I emailed Host and Stay to let them know and on the evening before I came home a lady appeared with a bottle of washing up liquid!!!!! Meanwhile there was a problem with the blind in the bedroom which had obviously been broken at some time and stuck together with tape. I emailed photos to Host and Stay and explained and they have replied to me so that has been dealt with. It is a shame that this time the kitchen did let the cottage down as it is an important room. But overall the cottage is lovely.

We stayed at ‘The Cottage’ Marske by the Sea. Wonderful stay. Super location; literally a stone’s throw from the beach. Beautiful, clean cottage, with lots of lovely original artwork in a wonderfully peaceful location. Just the tonic, as my younger brother unexpectedly died back in January. We had a glorious week. Great communication with Charlie from Host & Stay. We’ll definitely be using them again. Many thanks again.

A great property in a great location with sea views and easy access to the beach. Unfortunately upon arrival the property was filthy and the shower was broken. The host did respond, by sending a cleaner and plumbers but even after re-cleaning the property was still grubby, and the shower was fixed after 2 of my 3 nights staying there.

Positive: Location was good right next to beach,parked outside the cottage Negative: Only had salt but no vinegar no sauces and only 4 tea bags for the weekend no storage for food and you need a blind up at patio windows because if its sunny and you are sat at the table you are blinded by the sun

The cottage is situated in a lovely, quiet location, you can hear the sea when you are laying in bed at night. Comfortable bed and pillows. Shops and pubs within walking distance. The only downside was lack of basic cleaning materials, we had to go out and buy a scourer and sponge for the kitchen so that we could clean food left on cutlery and eggs on a pan from a previous visitor

Great location and local amenities and overall a nice place to stay. However it was clear the management company had not been into the property recently or had done any checks before arrival. The house was tidy but not clean. There had been a build up on post that had got wet and blocked you opening the front door. The chimney had debris come down and wasn’t clean. The boiler was not working and had to be found and reset. It had clearly not been cleaned properly from the last guest with toothpaste stains still on the mirror and dirt marks still on the floor. Also having to pay a secondary fee for potential breakages when legally you have tental insurance in the UK feels like a rip off fee. Bar these management company oversights the house is very nice and has everything you need or want

Overall, beautiful property in a gorgeous location. Perfect for the beach - walkable in 2 minutes. See view from the main bedroom was gorgeous. Host and stay are a company, I have stayed with before, and I’ve never had an issue with them; the properties could probably be cleaner but they’re not terrible. A few things in the kitchen needed re washing before use, and there was a few spiders / cobwebs around. But nothing that stopped the stay from being enjoyable, the location more than made up for it, and I would stay again.
