Excellent base for exploring Whitby and its surroundings Positive: Modern, very pleasant 2nd floor apartment, with large living room, well equipped kitchen, good size bathroom with bath and over-bath shower, and double and twin bedrooms in the storey above. Great for a small family with two children. Excellent location a few minutes walk from Whitby's main attractions. Reasonably priced compared to bed and breakfast accommodation elsewhere in the town. Free on-street parking just up the road. Negative: Twin bedroom was a little cramped for 2 adults, but not a major problem

Excellent, would definitely book again Positive: Great location, clean property with all amenities needed for either a short or extended break. Easily accessible and Clear communication. Lovely park across the road. Negative: WiFi. We mainly used the property as a base to sleep but WiFi/Netflix (property has smart Tv but cannot access streaming due to no internet) would have been nice to unwind with.

Very relaxing and enjoyable break. Positive: Property appeared very clean. Is just a short walk from the harbour. All required amenities. Negative: There was WiFi, however this did not work which was an issue with the smart tv supplied as without it the number of tv channels were severely restricted. I thought the double bed in the main bedroom could be a bit longer, I’m only 5’7” and had issues with my feet and the bed frame at the bottom. Having said that, my wife and I have discussed the fact that it was probably one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in while on holiday. Other issue was unloading / loading the car. Parking was up the hill a short way.

Positive: Great location, great apartment, lovely and clean and great communication on arrival Negative: There wàs sometimes a smell of drains in the bathroom but could tell it was probably a problem with the old building and not the cleanliness of the apartment.

Very cozy appartment with everything you need. Very reasonalbe price too Positive: The keys were easy to access with the use of my phone light as it was dark when we arrived. Negative: As it was at night when we arrived, you would not be able to see without the use of a torch. I would advise clients that the access is at the front of the building, as our Sat Nav took us around the back

A lovely apt and 5 mins from town. Quite a few steps to get into the place and would be difficult for people with walking difficulties. But a truly nice apt close to everything ans spotlessly clean. Would easily stay again no problem.

Nice clean property in good location close to everything in Whitby

What a lovely little place to stay in Whitby. An excellent accommodation location for visiting Whitby, we really enjoyed our stay here and thought it was perfect. Lovely view of the park water fountain from the living room window. The decor and furnishings were beautifully done and thought out. The amenities provided were very useful, cleaning supplies, tea, coffee and milk. Hand soap, washing up liquid etc. plus board games, books and local leaflets for things to do etc. we would definitely stay here again when visiting Whitby.

A great place to stay! The apartment was very comfortable and was perfect for the three nights. Have no complaints. Positive: Very clean and modern. Lovely apartment with plenty of character. Kitchen was well equipped. Negative: Nil.

Great location Positive: It was very clean and tidy. It was well appointed and the furniture was new and looked after. It was only a few minutes walk from the centre on Whitby. Just as advertised. Negative: It was not a problem for us but there were a lot of stairs to get to our flat. Just so you are aware if you have any knee/hip issues.

One of the nicest AirBnBs I’ve stayed in! It would be good to get the bathroom door lock fixed ASAP though. Apart from that, perfect!

There was a lot of communication and great information about the apartment and area before we arrived. Checking in was easy and the apartment was in a great location, it was also very clean and well presented. The only thing was slight lack of sleep due to the seagulls but you can’t argue with nature, we will definitely use again

Het was een super mooie locatie, alles goed te lopen richting het centrum. Huisje was mooi, alleen de badkamer had wat schoner gekund, voor de rest alles goed en een fijn verblijf gehad!

On a busy main road so very loud traffic in the bedrooms. Uncomfortable pillows and the building alarm continually went off from 4.30 in the morning onwards. It’s a nice apartment, good location and very clean.

Apartment was spacious enough for 3 adults Negative: Difficult to drag suitcases up 3 flights of stairs but that is the style & age of the building. Can’t be helped. Would appreciate if there was parking or even a drop off point to unload suitcases

Lovely, spacious apartment Positive: Well appointed, luxurious feel. Very clean with good facilities. Nice and spacious living area. Lots of natural light. Close to town. Negative: It came up in the search results with a filter of car parking. It does not have parking, although there is free parking nearby for some this would be an issue. It is at the top of narrow, steep stairs (“loft” is a clue!) which some might struggle with, especially with luggage/ shopping etc.

Husband and my boys had the BEST weekend, they couldn't stop talking about how lovely the accommodation was and were really impressed.

Lots to see and do in Whitby so would come back! Positive: We had a great short stay a the Captain'Loft in Whitby. Great location for everything and the property had everything we needed, was clean and beautifully set up. Negative: It would have been nice to have check in details sooner so we could plan more where to park. But we got lucky in a small car park fairly close in the end.

Spent 5 nights at this high quality and well located, top-floor apartment in May. Very well equipped - although there isn't an iron or ironing board despite it mentioning this in the listing. This would have been handy, but this is the only fault as such - everything else more than made up this. Location wise, the accommodation is perfectly positioned where you're less than 5min walk from the centre, but also even though there's no dedicated parking, you can park for free on street called Southend Gardens 1min away. Communication with the holiday rental company was plentiful and felt like you were always looked after with any queries. The apartment was great value for money, was to a high standard and had plenty of room over 2 floors - the living space was on the lower floor and the 2 bedrooms are on the upper floor. The apartment is on the top floor of the building, without a lift, so worth bearing in mind for those with accessibility issues. Would definitely stay here again in the future, and would highly recommend this to anyone considering staying here.

It’s a converted Victorian house, with the entrance on the second floor, and once you’re in, the apartment itself is spread across two levels. Probably not ideal if stairs are an issue, but it was absolutely fine for us. The place is comfortable and well equipped. Everything is in great condition and it had all the amenities we needed. Parking was easy, there’s free parking about a 5-minute walk away and we had no trouble finding a spot. Location is good; less than a 10-minute walk into the busy part of Whitby with loads of pubs, restaurants, and things to do. Overall, a great place to stay.

Great location, nice little apartment for a weekend away, parking and unloading was a bit tricky, but a local kindly let us park in there space while we unloaded the car, then we managed to find some free on street parking. The car didn’t move again then until it was time to leave. Great little space, clean & tidy, close to the centre, would 100% stay again.

Captains loft Positive: Lovely and clean. Excellent location. Negative: Too many steps to climb, not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties . A comfier sofa would be preferable. As we were on the 3rd floor, where was the fire escape?

Positive: The lay out of the apartment. Negative: There was no WIFI, or Car parkings near had to park 20 minutes away from apartment and pay £9 a day.

Lovely, modern and clean apartment with NO PARKING and NO WI-FI Positive: It’s a lovely 2 bedroom, 3rd floor apartment over 2 floors. The bedrooms are in the “loft” and the living space on the 3rd floor. The kitchen is small but functional and fairly, well equipped with the things you need. It’s a modern and clean apartment in a great location, within walking distance of the train station and centre of Whitby. Negative: Wi-Fi was offered as a facility when I booked the property, then upon arrival was informed that wifi is not included. Also, there is no access to any cleaning devices so if you walk sand/dirt into the carpeted apartment you can clean it up which is a shame. There is no parking at the property, but you can park within a short walking distance. However, loading/unloading for your stay is difficult.

Excellent accommodation which really made our holiday! Positive: Lovely, spacious flat just opposite the park and only 5 minutes walk to the centre. Negative: There are quite a few stairs leading to the flat. Not a problem for us but I wouldn't recommend it if you have mobility problems or heavy luggage.

Positive: Clean, comfortable & well situated close to Whitby centre. Good communication with link to website with full instructions. Negative: Only 2 toilet rolls provided. Also please consider having a pot of salt alongside pepper provided. Apartment very hot as bedrooms are in the attic of the house. Velux windows but can't be open during rain as over bed.

Fabulous apartment! Positive: Such a lovely apartment in a great location! We would definitely recommend it and would happily stay again. Negative: The only issue we had was finding the place. It was a little bit confusing but that wasn't due to the instructions as much as the road naming and building numbering shown on Google maps.

Lovely stay in Whitby. We parked in the nearby car park. Bit tricky finding a space in the summer. The flat is only a 5 minute walk into town. Beautiful flat, well equipped, very clean. A more comfortable sofa would be nice.

Überall grossartigen Fisch and Chips. The Captains Wife ist mein Favorit Positive: Der schöne Park gegenüber dem Haus und die nähe zum Zentrum. In der Küche gibt es eine Uhr die, die Gezeiten anzeigt. Negative: Ich bin 2 Meter lang und das Bett war es nicht. Ich musste die Matratze auf den Boden legen.

Great apartment in a great location, very close to Bus & Train station, Co-op and off licence 3 mins walk, town centre 5 mins. Communication with host was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Brilliantly clean, every amenity you could ever need and excellent location. We loved waking up to the park view and bird song. Hosts are very good with communications ahead of time and during stay.

Exceptionally swift and efficient communication from host&stay staff. Negative: The only minor thing that could have been better was that, despite being very smart, the sofas and chairs in the living room were not comfortable. In the evening, after lots of walking it would have been nice to be able to curl up on the sofa and watch tv.

A great place to stay Positive: The apartment is beautifully presented. The décor and cleanliness is of very high standard. It is in an absolutely great position with only a short walk to the centre of Whitby. Bedding and towels are soft and clean. Tea and coffee provided and a small pint of milk was in the fridge when we arrived which was a lovely gesture. Free Wi-Fi. Able to log into personal Netflix account. Negative: There is nothing to dislike. It is a self catering apartment. It is on the third floor. There is no parking. Street parking is a short walk away. These are things we knew that did not bother us but other people may want to keep in mind.

Great apartment within a short walk of the town. Opposite a beautiful park with lovely views from the apartment. It had everything we needed for our stay, warm and cosy and kitchen is well equipped for home cooking.

It’s location is perfectly central to all Whitby attractions, which was a walking distance. Great views onto the park opposite. Well equipped kitchen for home cooking. A very cosy stay and would definitely return in the future. Definitely recommend. We also had a positive and great service from the property host team. Negative: Although out of the control of the property/host, the park opposite can be a little noisy at night during the weekend. It was quite loud at points but wasn’t too bad. Car parking would have been a bonus to this property as parking around Whitby is a little bit of a walk away. Thankfully we didn’t need the car whilst we enjoyed our stay! :)
