Warm, spacious property Positive: Spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a peaceful spot without being remote. The heating is underfloor and makes the cottage cosy and warm but with the flexibility to vary the temperature in different rooms. A large utility is provided if you need to do some washing. The garden is fenced and safe with views over the countryside. Negative: The beds were a little too hard for us, despite liking firm beds but I appreciate that this is a personal preference. The crockery became very hot after only a short periods in the microwave and my daughter burnt her hand. These are minor issues and does not detract from the overall positive experience provided by this property.
Fantastic accommodation close to lots of places to visit. Stayed with my parents whilst visiting Newcastle and they were so impressed with the quality and space! Would definitely stay again and would recommend to others as great accommodation and good value.
Fantastic accommodation site lads have stayed here for a few weeks now and been ideal. Warm and cosy unfortunately it is now fully booked for the foreseeable and have to find alternative accommodation but can see why. Only wish I’d booked further in advance.
Great place to stay for work
A beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. The location is peaceful but within easy access.\nWe used the cottage as a base to visit family near by over Christmas, but the location is perfect for many local attractions. Within 30 minutes we reached the Durham dales for a boxing day walk. \nThe cottage is warm and welcoming, spacious and was spotlessly clean upon arrival. The underfloor heating is lovely underfoot and keeps the cottage nice and cosy. The cottage has a modern finish and everything we needed. \nThe views are lovely, including sunrise and sunset and the stars were beautiful at night.\nThank you for a lovely stay, we would definitely stay here again.

Warm, comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. Enclosed garden so the dog could potter about. Close to useful shops, but away from the main roads so it is quiet. Would definitely stay again !
What a lovely place to stay with friends and our dogs! A gorgeous kitchen and barn with plenty of space and beautifully renovated. We went on some fantastic local walks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had the immense joy of staying at the property whilst working away for the week with my colleagues. The place is beautiful and immaculate. We felt right at home, couldn't recommend the place any more.

Great family holiday with the dogs at The Byers, fantastic barn conversion. Clean and tidy and just how it looks on the photos. The enclosed garden with the seating area is fab and the dogs could wander in and out. Peaceful location but also near lots of activities and we also had a day out to the Metro Centre in Gateshead. We didn’t want to leave. Hosts very responsive and great communication. Would book again.

A great base for us for the Beamish Museum, Durham, Newcastle and Tynemouth. Very spacious accommodation for 5 adults and a lovely setting.

We had a great break at The Byres. The accommodation was perfect. Clean and comfortable. Lots of space. The outside area was perfect for relaxing. We saw rabbits and deer. The bath was deep, showers had great pressure. The beds were comfortable. The host was friendly without being intrusive. Couldn’t recommend further.
The place was beautiful, immaculately clean and well presented, much larger than it looked in the photos and the amenities were great. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend this place to anyone considering it
Absolutely brilliant place to stay. Extremely clean, very quiet and private, lovely view when sat in the garden and great when the deer come out. We went to the beamish museum for a few days and was a perfect location. Would 100% recommend and stay here again if we were visiting again. Also the online guidebook the hosts sent was very useful for the local area.

We had an amazing stay at the Byres. It was spacious and very comfortable. Plenty of room for us and our grown-up children plus their dog. The kitchen wasca great space and the lounge was comfortable. The beds were also comfortable. The toiletries, tea and coffee were a nice touch to get us started. There was a supermarket close by. It was a great location. We felt like we were in the countryside but close to towns and cities. Especially Durham and Newcastle. Would definitely recommend this property to other families.

A lovely place to stay to explore County Durham and Durham city. Close to the city as well as South Shields and Gateshead. A peaceful rural location with shops and restaurants a short and easy drive away. The property is well appointed and modern with great cooking facilities should you wish to eat in. Beds comfortable, and showers hot with excellent pressure. A great terrace with a fine view over surrounding fields, that also enjoys afternoon sun.

Plenty of room in this spotless large barn conversion. Quiet location away from main roads with a pleasant outlook across a field and into the distance. Great outlook to sit in the comfortable seats outside watching deer, pheasants, rabbits in the field. Good central stay with so much to see in the surrounding area and a very relaxing place to retreat to. We enjoyed our break here.
The house seems newly built or renovated. Furniture is clean and kitchen appliances are modern. The house is the same as the photos provided. Very spacious and comfortable. Surrounding is quiet and peaceful. It takes about 35 minutes to the City Centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne and 45 minutes to Sandhaven Beaches. I will definitely recommend it to my friends.
Felt like home from home Positive: Very spacious, plenty of room for the six off us and two dogs. Patio and garden very nice as well. Garden secure to keep pets and children safe. Negative: Smoke alarms very sensitive, went off a few times when we were just sat doing nothing.
Stayed here while visiting family, absolutely perfect on every level and will definitely be back in the future.
We used satnav to get to the property, which was confusing because the name on the property faced the opposite way for us! Found it eventually! Well finished and furnished property. Underfloor heating which worked very well. A good place to stay if, like us, you want to visit Beamish museum, and a few towns/enjoy the countryside.

We were pleasantly surprised with how big this property was. Plenty of room. The property is stunning. We came down to see family who live close by and it was perfect! Great response whenever we messaged the host. Only thing was there was no bbq and we were planning on using it. Everything was very clean and tidy. We will definitely be coming back.
Spacious bungalow in beautiful location. The bungalow is clean , comfortable and well equipped. Underfloor heating made it cosy. Number 17 cafe in Dipton is great for food and drinks. Perfect location for visiting Beamish which is amazing. We also visited Durham Cathedral and castle. The cathedral is free entry and we highly recommend a visit. The library/museum staff are super helpful and friendly and advised us about taking a guided tour of the castle which is the only way to see it. The guide was very informative and friendly. The Cathedral bus is an excellent service. Unfortunately the boat trip was unavailable the day we visited Durham so we advise you to phone in advance if you intend to do that. Tynemouth market on a Saturday is fantastic and the town and seafront are lovely. We used the metro to get there.We would stay in the bungalow again.

Great one level living. Enjoyed the facilities. Nice and cosy. Positive: Ideal for our friends with mobility problems. The garden area looked inviting it’s a shame it wasn’t a warmer time of year. Negative: The quilt to the large bed was too small and didn’t fill the cover.

Nice, roomy and well equipped accommodation in the countryside. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable and kitchen was nice and well stocked. Host was informative and responsive, though agency felt a little impersonal and transactional - not what I'm used to from Air BnB.
