Really enjoyed the stay at the Braes. Positive: Really nice property overall. Nice big modern kitchen plus the conservatory and garden were nice to sit in. Especially as we had some sun on Saturday. Very dog friendly and close to the beach and the centre which was ideal. Would like to stay there again later on in the year. Negative: Nothing.

Lovely cottage, in a nice quiet road which was minutes from the beach and from local amenities. I'm not sure why an earlier reviewer said it smelt of dogs as we didn't find this at all. The cottage smelt fresh and clean and it was spotless inside. You would never know dogs had been there. Really nice furnishings and linen, nice large towels and all the nice little extra touches like shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom and tea/coffee in the kitchen. Our Labrador was particularly happy with the treat selection that greeted her - such a nice thought. We wouldn't hesitate to use Host & Stay again. The property was exactly as described, the photos were accurate, and the information provided was really helpful. Host & Stay were super responsive to any query, provided all the check-in, check-out and other information you could need along with local info and recommendations. Brilliant company and a great little cottage, so glad we found them. We will definitely be back :-)

We recently stayed at Marske by the Sea. The cottage was very much as described and was a pet friendly location. We were not expecting to have to clean soiled throws from the previous tenants and neither were we expecting to hoover everywhere to a thorough outcome to remove all the black hairs. The place had a strong odour of dog in the living room. We had to buy 3 air fresheners to mask the smell, this property would benefit from a deep clean. The area itself was very nice and a place we would return, but not to this property. A thorough clean and kept that way should support custom for the future.

Fabulous few days break, lovely little house and only 5 mins walk to the beach. Really nice area with village square just round the corner, pub, take out, supermarket and restaurant, everything you need without having to use the car! Lovely dog friendly touches within the property and all the amenities you could possibly need.

The house is amazingly beautiful and well equipped for a comfortable stay. The host is very dog friendly and we had a great experience with ease arrival and departure. I totally recommend the place. We didn’t manage to work out the heating system but tbh we didn’t contact the host about it. The price is more manageable without 3rd party and longer stay.

Lovely accommodation very well positioned only a few minutes walking distance from the beach and from the town centre where all the shops/cafe are. The house is very well kept and it's great that it is pet friendly. The conservatory area is particularly nice as a dining room but also as a relaxing area for reading. The staff at Host and Stay is very good at answering questions, readily available and very friendly.

Stayed in many cottages but this is head and shoulders above the rest. It provides everything and more, they even left treats out for the dogs. The quality of all the furniture and kitchen appliances is first class and plenty of space to be comfortable - the beds are very comfortable and the conservatory is a brilliant addition, we enjoyed sitting in there for breakfast and in the evening playing games (maybe swap the table to be next to radiator as it gets chilly!) If you are looking for a quality place to stay, excellent value in a perfect location then this is for you! We will be back - thank you!

So nice A charming cottage in a beautiful location.We just stayed for a few nights, but there was so much more to see and do in this picturesque location. A few minutes walk from the beach and doggie paradise!The cottage was comfortable and quiet.

The perfect place to stay! So close to all the amenities (and a fabulous dog friendly cafe and wine bar!) and beach. The place itself for very clean and cosy and exactly as described online. Had everything you needed for a stress free stay away from home. Communication was spot on and was very easy to access the cottage on arrival and clear instructions on departure. Loved the recommendations and had I not had family in the area would have used them to navigate around. Will definitely be staying again.

Prior to arrival communication was good. We arrived on Sunday for a 4 night stay, there was pet hair all over the house and a smell.of dogs. We contacted host and stay as soon as office hours opened on Monday. We didn't get a reply until Monday (after children were in bed) to offer a reclean, over 50% of the way through the stay. When I said this wasn't good service I was told to raise a complaint. Be aware the small double is pushed up against walls on three sides meaning you have to disturb the other person to get out of bed. The children couldn't stay in this bed due to nails protruding from walls at eye height. The downstairs was spacious but the conservatory took hot to use meaning meal times were challenging. Upstairs the finish is not good - ripped carpets, exposed Rawl plugs, nails protruding from walls, not the high spec that was advertised. I did submit a complaint, the policy states 10 working days. I didn't receive a reply despite chasing this. Only positive was location

Nice place. Bedroom 2 not big enough for 2 kids to sleep in Positive: Location was great, it’s clean inside and well appointed. It’s a great place to stay. Negative: One of the beds is soooo small, it’s a tiny double and our 2 children struggled to sleep in it. The yard needs a deep clean There isn’t private parking, you have to leave you car on the road and it’s quite narrow

Never had an issue with AirBnB before until now. So having been in discussion since our departure...and it's been 2 weeks still no adequate response... 1. Approx 50% of the stay no hot water incl 1 night and morning 2. Approx 50% of stay no heating incl 1 night, partner had to sleep on sofa due to this in living room 3. Cut short weekend as partner couldn't have bath 4. Issue reported straight away and response received next morning on departure 5. Photos of issues with boiler provided (fixed after departure) 6. Shower gel dispenser empty 7. Fire alarm goes off if shower was used unless extractor fan on 8. Bath plug doesn't stay down, again asked immediately and suggested solutions had already been tried and didn't work (not that it would have helped as no hot water) If communication had been more forthcoming, but feels like management company strings along until limit has been reached to leave review. Cottage actually fine as are rooms, don't expect ANY help if anything goes wrong,

Gorgeous little cottage 5 mins from the beach and the town square. Communication fantastic - very clear how to get there and get in. Very clean and just as described. Kitchen really well equipped. Back yard is completely dog secure so you can let them out knowing there’ll be no escapees! Sleeps 4 but I would say if staying longer than a weekend it would be more suitable for a couple with 2 small children rather than 4 adults.

Host was very responsive at the time off booking and sent clear, helpful instructions on access and what was around the local area, well presented, clean and tidy great location with supermarket, bars and plenty of places to eat, the village is lovely and had everything you would need, we were stopping for work so didn't have much time to explore. Quiet residential street with no noise issues despite being so close to high street, close to the beach. Comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. If I am in the area I shall book again if it's available. Many thanks for a great stay, would highly recommend.

A returning trip for me as I have family in Marske (unable to stay as they have cats and I have a dog!) and I will always use this as a base. Very clean, even with it being a dog friendly property. Exactly as advertised. Nice and local to the town centre and more importantly, (for the dog) the beach which is stunning. Highly recommend.

Highly Recommended, Lovely Place x Positive: Decorated throughout to a high standard, lovely place, Cleanliness Very Good, Welcome Goodies Appreciated, Quality Linen & Towels , Quality Cookware & Crockery etc , Small Garden but Functional & Nicely Kept with Seating , Good Location , Friendly Neighborhood, Beach Close by & Amenities Shops, Food Places etc Would Definitely Stay Again & Recommend for Any Couple or Small Family 3/4 Pets Welcome by looks of the Lovely Pet Treats Left out , we don't have any though - but nice touch for pet owners Easy check in with key box & code sent prior to arrival. Overall One of the Nicest Places we have stayed in UK & would book again x Negative: 2 minor things we found Main Bedroom Doesn't Close...which is a phobia of mine when in bed 🙈 & Could do with A Black Out Blind too Other than that couldn't fault it & One of Nicest Places we have stayed in UK

We really loved our stay here! The cottage was perfect - lovely decor, loads of space downstairs and location to the beach was great! We’d definitely stay here again. Back and front garden was super secure for our dog too. Lots of lovely gestures for our arrival too - hamper for our dog as well as cookies for us too! Our only slight issue was the bath plug wasn’t staying in! When we messaged and emailed for someone to help fix this, we just got auto responses and the plug unfortunately never got fixed. It was hard to communicate with what felt like an auto/AI/bot response. Wouldn’t have been an issue for us to just use the shower - but it meant we unfortunately couldn’t use the bath for our baby all week. Anyways - we got creative with a kitchen sink bath time instead 😅 Thanks again for our stay, we all had a lovely week!

Spacious, clean and had everything we needed. If the outside area was given a sweep and the coffee pods replaced it would have been perfect!

Absolutely stunning cottage, felt so homely. Lovely welcome pack to make our arrival a little easier. There wasn’t anything we needed that the cottage didn’t have. Local amenities were not far away at all easily within walking distance. We would definitely return and we had a fantastic stay.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was welcoming and clean. The location is quiet and in walking distance to the shops and beach. It was a good base for days out.

Great location, so close to the beach. Excellent accommodation, very well appointed and great indoor and outdoor space.

We very much enjoyed our stay and would book again. Positive: A good location - close to the village centre and the beach. The space worked well and the conservatory area with the lovely little courtyard garden to look out onto was an added bonus. Even though there is no dedicated parking, we were able to park outside the cottage. Some people have commented that the bed in the second room is against the wall, which it is, but it worked well for our teenage son. Negative: It was slightly strange that there is only seating for 2 at the breakfast bar in the kitchen, so you do need to make use of the conservatory if more than 2 people want to sit down and eat together at a table. The temperature was absolutely fine at the end of March (and there is heating in there), but it might feel a bit hot in the summer.

We really enjoyed our week's stay at The Braes! The cottage was clean, cosy and well equipped and communication with our hosts was very good. The location is great, it's a short walk to the beach and a decent range of amenities in the village as well as bus and train services to explore other places along the coast. we'll certainly be returning and can recommend to everyone!

Beautiful cottage in an excellent position which was central but also very quiet. It was very clean with some lovely features and the kitchen was especially nice and very well equipped. It would have been lovely to have an outside table and chairs to have been able to eat outside in the sunshine Overall though a lovely place Will definitely stay again !

A lovely cottage within walking distance to the beach! The walk along the coastal path to Saltburn was lovely and back via the beach. Local pubs are closed at the beginning of the week and many don’t serve food. We had a lovely 5 days! Locals very friendly!

marske by the sea is a lovely spot. beach walks and enough in the village to be able to get anything you need. the cottage was well positioned. Parking on the road but this wasn't an issue.

We had a great stay, the house was immaculate and neighbours and other villagers were very friendly. The location was ideal for visiting its own beach and many others on the coast within a short drive away.
