Discover a peaceful retreat at The Bothy, a beautiful house located close to the village of Bothel. This inviting property boasts two bedrooms, each with a comfortable king-size bed, making it perfect for couples or small groups.

About this property

The Bothy has been lovingly created using local timbers, recycled materials and our handcrafted furniture. The result is a uniquely beautiful space in which you can relax and be comfortable.

On the ground floor is a very well-equipped open plan kitchen, diner and sitting area where you can cook your meals before relaxing in front of the TV.

You'll find two king-size bedrooms at The Bothy (one on the first floor and one on the lower floor). Both bedrooms have access to their own bathrooms; the downstairs one has a walk in shower whilst upstairs guests have a bathtub with a handheld shower.

Outside the front of the property, you'll find an unenclosed seating area.

The Bothy is an ideal holiday home for any small family or couple who wish to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that the area provides, but who also wish to benefit from the comforts of home in a unique setting.

Surrounded by rolling hills and lush farmland, the village is an ideal base for exploring the quieter, less-travelled paths of the Lakes.

Bothel enjoys excellent proximity to both the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the scenic lakes of Bassenthwaite and Derwentwater. Whether you're seeking serene walks, wildlife watching, or adventurous hikes, this location caters to all kinds of outdoor persuits. The nearby Whinlatter Forest Park offers family-friendly cycling trails and treetop adventures, while those seeking cultural experiences can explore the historic towns of Cockermouth and Keswick - just a short drive away.

The Bothy offers convenient access to local pubs, farm shops, and traditional Cumbrian hospitality. It's the perfect retreat for couples, families, or solo travellers looking to unwind and reconnect with nature while remaining within reach of top Lake District attractions.

The nearest train station to Bothel can be found in Aspatria, a short 10-minute drive away from Lowmoor. Aspatria Train Station has direct services operating to locations across Cumbria including Barrow-in-Furness, Carlisle, Maryport, Whitehaven, Wigton and Workington.

Two bus routes operate in Bothel offering access to Carlisle, Cockermouth, Keswick and Wigton.

“Absolutely lovely place to stay. Perfect location, Bassenthwaite and loads of walk on the doorstep! Really clean and lots of amenities. The immersion heater had been turned off, but we found it and then had hot water on demand. Heating was great. My only complaint is the wifi - it was terrible. Could only connect when I went close to the door and there was no WiFi in the bedroom downstairs. Just needs a booster and then it would have been perfect and meant we could research walking trails easily. Will definitely be back!”
