Very small apartment difficult to get to opposite side of bed due to low roof. Tv too high on wall to view without difficulty from current sofa position not enough space to be comfortable for two adults and a very small dog

Lovely quiet flat despite on a busy daytime route we heard nothing. Ideal walk into Whitby 10 mins. Parking, warm, clean, v comfy bed, light and airy modern decor. Yes a few scuffs on the entrance hallway and some dogs have obviously had a small nibble on the skirting boards but that’s bound to happen with some dogs This shouldn’t detract from the positive comments oh also great shower. A wine cooler! Thank you for the stay.

Great place to stay with dogs too. Very tight parking space as mentioned. Make sure you receive booking instructions before you arrive as I had to argue with David about my Airbnb receipt.

We stayed at the birds nest for mine and my partners anniversary, it was the most beautiful little flat, super cosy and close to the heart of Whitby! Dale was super helpful and gave lots of information and recommendations, would definitely stay again 🩷x

Really great stay at birds nest with my partner and sausage dog, loved it cosy, cute little apartment with everything you need and hardly a 10 min walk into whitby centre which is just great. Will likely be back and rdcommend alot! Spotlessly clean, warm and lovely views of the water. Great shower to, love whitby!

Die Wohnung ist klein und eigentlich für 2 Personen zum Wohlfühlen geeignet. Leider war die Wohnung sehr schmutzig. Die Oberflächen waren schmierig, auf dem Boden waren Haare, das Sofa krümelig. In den Schränken waren die Ablagen unsauber. Die Lampen eingestaubt. Auf die Reklamation wurde verspätet reagiert. Eine sorgfältige Grundreinigung wäre notwendig. Die Lage ist sehr gut und Whitby hat viel zu bieten. Für die Kaution, die zwingend zu entrichten ist, müssen noch 10 Pfund Bearbeitungsgebühr bezahlt werden. Das hat uns auch gestört.

Lovely little flat, perfect for 2 people for a couple of days. Location was a bit difficult to find initially due to it sitting just after a blind corner (if coming from one direction) and not showing accurately on the car maps. Parking space is very tight!! Shower was lovely, powerful and clean. Two different head types to allow for showers without getting hair wet. No washing up items left so had to buy our own. 2 dishwasher tablets were left for us but there wasn't a dishwasher so these weren't usable. For note - the hairdryer is low power so if you have long/thick hair consider bringing your own. No full length mirror. Location was central, making it super easy to walk everywhere, and a lovely view of the fields on one side and the river Esk on the other. Would 100% stay again.

What a wonderful apartment and location. Absolutely perfect for a couple of days away to explore Whitby. Easy to access and just a short car journey to the lovely seaside Sandsend. We will be back

I found the place itself lovely, I'm not good with stairs so was really disappointed by so many. the weekend we stayed there seemed to be alot of cars speeding up and down throughout the night. at one point a car was being chased by the police. the place was clean and cosy and I would recommend if your able bodied.

Perfect little seaside retreat. Positive: The quaint feel of the attic space apartment was perfect for us. It felt cosy and was perfect for a couple. The walk into Whitby was quick and easy, with many amenities on the doorstep. The guidebook helped with some suggestions of places to visit and we enjoyed two wonderful meals: Abbey Harbour and Moon and Sixpence, as well as delicious cocktails at Cafe Montmarte. All in all, a wonderful break, where we would be happy to stay again. Negative: For some people, the sloped ceiling might be a problem but it was all part of the fun of an attic studio stay for us.

Beautiful apartment, definitely worth the money

Great location! Easy to find. Seamless check in and instructions. Cute studio apartment which was fine for 2 nights. Anything longer it may need some tweaks. Lower ceilings did make it a little difficult navigating around the bed. Kitchen was lacking in knives and coffee! Photos showed a coffee machine but there was not one in the apartment. No instant coffee or decaf tea options either. Overall, good choice for 2 nights in Whitby town, walking distance to everything you needed and parking too!

Great location, wouldn’t stay here again due to issues mentioned which is a shame as they could all be addressed. Excell Positive: Birds Nest was bright and modern exactly like the photos with in a great location. Negative: The bathroom smells like sewage from the drains and being with the open plan layout this was not great at all, the slide door didn’t close properly so rattled with the bathroom window open. The boiler would made a rattling booming sound that happened all through the night which disturbed our sleep. There was no where to hang coats, coat hooks needed in the entry area. There are 2 windows in the bedroom with no blinds on so very light in the morning. The entry area needed a good clean as the little window cill was thick with dust and the carpets were dirty which was our first impression. Birds nest was clean however the bathroom bin was full on arrival with wipes maybe from the cleaner. We also had no towels so had to contact Charlie from H&S to arrange delivery which we got later that day. Parking space was tight but we have a big car and could park (skills required) although the glass bottle bin was full which was next to our car so did keep checking that as was concerned something could fall on the car.

Relaxing Positive: Bed was lovely - please let me know where the mattress was from and type!! Negative: The people staying the sweet shop made it impossible for us to park in the Birds Nest spot on Saturday evening its a tight parking spot anyway but if they park diagonally then its impossible

Only thing I could say the parking was a little tricky to get out of also the boiler was a little noisy,but would NOT put me off staying again.

Great place for a short stay Positive: Apartment came with parking and was a short walk from town. Negative: Nowhere to hang wet coats - weather was bad and there is plenty of room to put coat hooks by door for this purpose.

Enjoyed my short stay ( 2 nights ) any longer would have been challenging due to limited space . Positive: Cute flat , comfy sofa . Close to town + easy to find . Heating easy to control + space warmed up quickly . Tea / coffee / sugar / milk provided . Small amount of prepack toiletries provided . Check in info provided in a timely manner . Negative: Main rain shower head cracked , black mould on accessory shower head . Strong bad drain smell in flat , looking back through reviews can see this has been mentioned before quite consistently but not addressed . No washing up liquid provided . Space around bed difficult to navigate due to reduced headroom , I appreciate this cant be remedied but certain people could find this very tricky .

Great location, excellent communications throughout, both before arrival and during our stay. Very clean and decent facilities including private car parking space, which is a real bonus given the central location. Ceiling height a bit tricky around the bed (sloping in the roof space) - crouching down as getting in and around the bed was not ideal Overall recommended

Not very well equipped, no oven gloves provided, chipped cereal bowl. Positive: Clean and modern apartment, small but convenient to centre of Whitby Negative: The bedroom area being under the eaves, you had to bend over to walk around the bed continually knocking your head on the ceilings or catching your legs on the bed. Nice break Positive: Great place and location. Very clean and well set up for what we needed. Negative: TV was a little high for me to watch as it hurt my neck, had my Ipad so just went into bedroom.

Der Aufenthalt war fürchterlich. Es roch sehr schlecht und alles war dreckig, der Teppich, die Handtücher hatte wahrscheinlich schon jemand benutzt. Auf jeden Fall nicht sauber gewaschen, das Bettzeug unbrauchbar. Wir haben fünf Nächte bezahlt und sind nach einer Nacht geflohen und haben uns eine andere Unterkunft gesucht. Dafür ist der Urlaub wirklich zu kostbar . Nie wieder.

Great location Positive: The location is brilliant, ideal base for staying in whitby and for touring, modern and airy apartment with parking. Negative: Place needs a deep clean, base on the bed needs replacing, every time you turn over during the night it creaks

Check in was fine good communication. Great location, sadly the smell of drains in the apartment was shocking. Entrance didn’t give the best first impression. Dirty carpet and just needs a good hoovering. The ceilings are low in bed area so constantly banging head or back moving around from far side. It’s not the best place we’ve ever stayed but the location is good. Kitchen would benefit from a clean of utensils and cooker. Chipped plate which broke when picking it up it was like it had been placed already broken waiting for the next person. Parking is fine but would be hard to get out or in if a car was to park in the next space. Forearmed is forewarned so if you go expecting the above you will be fine.

Very enjoyable for short trip we will be back Positive: It was modern , ok for few days away , furnishings were nice . Ten minutes walk to centre on the flat no hills. Parking is a huge bonus in Whitby Negative: Space above bed was a nightmare to navigate as I’m quite tall , very little space to put clothes . No draws and wardrobe was like small child’s .

Great location but don’t expect to prepare any food in the property Positive: Great location. Street is fairly quiet but the centre of Whitby is a pleasant walk away. Lovely views to the abbey. Negative: Parking space only suits a small car. Coffee machine in photos has been removed and no coffee provided upon arrival. Hairdryer was missing. “Fully equipped kitchen” had only one kitchen knife - a bread knife - and one teaspoon; perhaps this was why I was sent advertising for a private chef? Bathroom drains have a very strong smell.

No parking space available as suggested in the description, as the space was occupied by another car our entire stay. Customer service was not helpful with this issue and we had to find alternative parking away from the accommodation. Slight stains on the bed sheets and a bad smell upon arrival. Overall not worth the price they charge, would suggest finding alternative accommodation.

We had a great time, very central location, beautiful area.

Had a lovely time in Whitby. Location is close to the harbour and having somewhere to park was a bonus. Plenty of room for a small car. Accommodation was comfortable and cosy. Lots of windows with light paper blinds so it was difficult to sleep late in the morning. But the seagulls woke us up anyway!!! Would definitely recommend.

Positive: Location was ideal . 10 minute walk from the centre of Whitby and the restaurant we had booked . Quiet location/roads . Nice view from the window . Room was generally very clean and tidy . Modern decor . Although we didn’t use any as we only stayed one night , kitchen facilities all looked spot on . Instant coffees / tea and milk was a nice touch . Would stay again :) Negative: Nothing Major , big shower head had a crack in the centre so didn’t work properly. Bathroom was a bit tight for space but that was expected and manageable. I noticed there was a few suspicious looking stains on the Sofa however I didn’t take a close look . Overall a very nice apartment .

Great location Positive: The apartment was compact, and there were plenty of kitchen utensils and equipment Negative: The bedroom has very low eaves, which caused you to bang your head constantly. There is not enough storage space to keep clothes. Would advise an additional wardrobe. Also, may a coat rack be added in the hallway. Their are two flights of steps leading up to the flat, I wouldn't recommend this for elderly people.

Nice stay but just sort out the drains smell. Positive: Good location and nicely decorated. Bed was comfy. Negative: Bathroom very small but adequate for a couple of nights stay. Unfortunately there was a really bad smell when we entered the apartment. It was like bad drains. I think a plumber needs to investigate where the smell originates. Like a sewerage smell and was overpowering so we didn’t want to spend too much time in the room. It’s a nice apartment but this really needs addressing. Kitchen area was good and well equipped. Parking space too small for our car so parked by the bins.

It was good just slightly deterred by the bathroom aroma and tiny parking space. Positive: The location was good. Heating worked well. Nice decor/ carpets. Interesting layout uses the available space well… but mind your head. Lots of cooking/ dinning stuff provided. Included tea coffee and sugar plus salt. Wine fridge as well but did not seem to work. Internet worked well. Shower was very good. Negative: Unfortunate aroma in the toilet/ bathroom. We had to buy air freshener. The toilet seat was misaligned at 1st but I managed to nudge it position. It was good to have a parking space but it’s very small and tight. My car was blocked in for at least 24 hours by a car not parked in an allocated space. The heating boiler also boomed at times which was a little disconcerting. The oven trays and grille were a little yucky but then there was no way of cleaning them other than regular washing up liquid and dish cloth.

We had a lovely stay. The flat is ideally located for walking to the shops and restaurants along the harbour.

Check the comment above regarding the boiler Positive: Small but comfortable, good location. The boiler needs looking at, when on it is vibrating when pumping the water around the heating and the boiler is vibrating the wall quite badly.

Previously good apartment missing essential items that are advertised but not actually there, complained but no action f Positive: The property was clearly once a great but small apartment, located a 5/10min walk from the centre of Whitby, parking is included but there is a height restriction my discovery and roof tent only just got in. Negative: The advert is simply not accurate and this isn’t really acceptable, it’s not clear there is an additional £20 insurance, there isn’t a coffee machine, hairdryer, drying rail or any toiletries not even soap to wash your hands.

On the whole the location was great, being so close to the centre plus other attractions. Walking distance. The parking is really tough, it should say in description that for a small car only. The signage and door number could do with updating to make more clear. The apartment did smell a little on arrival of stagnant water, we bleached every day and it did stay away. Not sure what they could have done as we did notice every street in Whitby had drains that were blocked. Very limited cutlery, only a bread knife to chop,cut things. We did enjoy it and were able to cope with what they had. Just missed little touches like cleaning the velux windows, moping the floor, crumbs all over the sofa, stained mugs. Just felt like it could do with a deep clean and some fresh mugs etc. Good location which helped as once I had managed to park the car I didn’t fancy moving it again. We were lucky that the parking space next to ours had a small car and was understanding.

We managed okay but poor attention to detail. Positive: Good location and comfortable. Negative: Difficult to find the property. The address we were given on the booking confirmation/directions was number 8 but the property was actually number 6. The sign for the property was very hidden. The 2 apartment doors were not numbered so we had to try both doors. Poor kitchen utensils, everything to thrown into a draw and not organised. Cups and plates were dirty. Only saucepans, no frying pan which is quite a common item needed for breakfast. No washing up liquid provided, which would explain why the things in the cupboard were dirty.

Positive: The property was lovely- light and airy. Perfect location and within a short walking distance of all amenities. Access to the property was easy with really clear instructions. Negative: The parking situation was terrible! The bay is more like half a bay and would only accommodate the smallest of cars. I had to move three giant industrial wheeley bins, just to be able to get out! As well as this, I was sent three separate addresses for the property. This was confusing.

Very very disappointing, I am confused by all the positive reviews. Pros: - good location & easy to check in - had potential to be a nice space if it was clean Cons: - smelt awful when we arrived - unclean, dust everywhere, foil left in the oven, food all over the floor - hairdryer set on fire, not only did the host not seem to care about this as an electrical hazard, but they did not replace it even though we asked multiple times. They actually said they had replaced it at one point but they hadn’t - communication was very slow, when reporting incident with hairdryer and reporting cleaning issues, it took a long time to get any response - towels had holes in them - fees unclear up front, added on an additional £25 or the option of transferring them £250 (?!) as an insurance fee, with an admin fee to get it back, makes the property appear good value but it’s not in reality - bed is under eaves which are very low for anyone who isn’t very short Would absolutely not recommend

The place was lovely and located in the perfect spot. However, some basic essentials were missing from the property. We only had 1 bread knife to use for any food prep which wasn’t ideal, also no oven gloves so had to use the tea towel to get things out the oven. Also the hairdryer was broken and completely unusable. Apart from this everything was great!

Great location and easy to find. Parking space is a little bit tight however it's manageable. Check in was quick and easy. Cleaning in the Kitchen area, such as in the draws and cupboards could have been ever so slightly better as well as the Bathroom however it did not spoil our stay at all. We will absolutely stay at the Bird's Nest again. Thank you!

Appalling treatment Positive: Despite regular contract prior to arrival. When we arrived the keys were not in the key box. We contacted the host, who initially told us to look for the spare in a separate box (nowhere to be found). When we eventually spoke to the host we were told the apartment had been double booked and had to arrange an alternative accommodation. Negative: Never saw it.

Great for a weeekend break, we really enjoyed it. Positive: Ideal location and really clean. Great communication from the owners. Negative: Low sloped ceiling was lower than expected and struggled to walk around the bed.

comfy but cold Negative: the boiler stopped working after a day and half, so no heating or hot water, the standard of cleanliness wasnt great and the was a bad smell coming from the shower room toilet when i returned. i left a day early and would like to discuss compensation

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, perfect size for 2 people. Ideal location only 5 minute walk from town centre. Very clean, tidy and well kept Noticed other reviews regarding finding the location. It is not hard at all, and parking space is only tight if you drive a bus.

Extremely disappointed... Positive: Location.. parking.. internet.. TV.. Negative: Boiler making an absolute racket all night.. we felt very unsure whether to stay or not.. didn't feel safe.. if we hadn't have had a drink we would have left that night and gone home..all cups were stained and dirty.. not been washed in a long time..

Pleasant and enjoyable would definitely stay there again Positive: Good parking, nice and clean room all the facilities you needed and close to town Negative: Signed could do to be a bit bigger got a little bit confusing. On arrival a lot of the properties next door to one another, have similar names and numbers. Just a little bit hard to see

Overall we had a pleasant short break in Whitby. Shame we had initial issues with heat & cleaning. Positive: A light modern apartment in a good location. Has parking, though quite a tight space. Negative: The cleanliness wasn't best and on arrival in mid October needing heating, found the heating thermostat batteries flat. Host & Stay did however organise a re-clean and fresh batteries sorted the heating, so once this was in place we had a pleasant stay.

could have been so much better. Positive: great location. shower was good despite being a tiny shower room. Negative: not obvious which was our parking space and when finally discovered it was a tiny space which you shoehorn yourself into. we phoned Host & stay and they were unhelpful. the insurance payment ON TOP of the booking!! NEVER EVER had this with any booking! took 2 weeks to get my £250 back. upon arrival, saw dirty marks on the carpet, scuffs on the wall so felt I had to cover myself and video the place, evidencing it was not caused by us. really takes the edge off a trip but this is how this booking made us feel! 2 children in the property below clearly playing football 1st thing in the morning and waking us up! cups were disgusting and heavily stained! frying pan looked like it had been put back in the draw after use likewise some of the cutlery. no blackout blinds and really bright. this could have been a great little stay without all of the above, the insurance being the biggest issue leading to the fact we will never return to this place. I never like to leave a bad review and if the above issues were fixed, I would actually recommend, so I hope the feedback is taken is received to not have future guest feeling like we did on what should have been a much needed, quick, relaxing getaway.

Positive: Clean and well maintained. Very comfortable Negative: There was no loo roll at all when we arrived and there were a few things that we could have done with in the kitchen as well eg cooking oil, cheese grater etc.

Average but Whitby is lovely Positive: Close to the town, had a parking space, had everything we needed in the flat. Negative: Bed was really uncomfortable, room was dusty, windows didn’t block any sound and two had no coverings so it was really bright from early in the morning. It looked nice from a distance. Whitby has boy racers that travel a circuit until approx 1am, blowing out their exhausts so we got little sleep.

Disappointing stay because of the incorrect description and lack of drying facilities in a wet and windy Whitby! Positive: The location was good, with a great view. The bed was comfy. Access to smart TV with Netflix etc. Negative: Not as advertised: there was no dishwasher as I had expected as I deliberately choose this property because of that. There is nowhere to hang our out door coats or wet clothes as the radiator hanger is quite small. This also means there is no where to hang your towel after a shower. ( which was lovely and fluffy!) The on site parking is great, but the space is very small.

Relax unwind and enjoy Positive: We have used this property before and it’s great ,quiet, comfortable, very convenient position to get into Whitby . Negative: There were some snagging issues, marks to paint work, damage to the skirting board which weren’t there on our last visit . Some of the kitchen wear was stained ,would have helped to have a pan scrubber as black coffee dose stain the white mugs .

Happy holidays Positive: It was in a perfect location very peaceful and had everything we needed.. Negative: The bed, although very comfortable was very tight in and was the sort the mattress sat in, I banged my legs so many times it was quite painful, some sort of buffer needed on the corners.
