I needed to visit Filey at short notice and was a little dubious booking this as the reviews were not flattering. However, I spoke with Home and Stay who assured me that all the issues raised had been rectified. They had! And the property was as described although a little dated. Bedding and towels were spotless. Tea, coffee and milk sachets were provided as were soap and toilet rolls. Wifi available and working, as was the TV. View from the front windows were glorious

Positive: The flat was clean, tidy and had plenty of utensils and everything you would expect. Beds were comfortable with the larger of which being the most. Amazing views and parking access is great if you can get a spot.
Negative: Not so much a criticism as it's a top floor flat but the steps into the flat are a little steep. But that aside nothing to criticise.

Great location, comfy bed, beautiful views but wouldn’t return
Positive: Fantastic view right on the sea front
Negative: The window in the front room didn’t unlock. The stairs to the property were extremely steep on the verge of dangerous. The front bedroom window open fully which was beautiful to sit and read or people watch but it was a sheer drop of four stories if you tripped. Wouldn’t want children to stay in this property.

Not yet fit for purpose - what would you expect if you were paying £117 per night? Very disappointed
Positive: The location - the property is right across the road from the beach, lovely beach walks. There is parking but be aware that outside the property is a designated disabled parking bay and traffic wardens do check. You may have to park elsewhere initially - usually spaces after 6pm.
The view - wonderful view, morning sunrise over Filey Brigg, watching the tides come and go.
The beds were very comfortable, the bedlinen and towels were of good quality.
Plenty of hot water, the shower is electric.
Plenty of tea and coffee sachets provided and some UHT milk portions.
Keys were in a lockbox on arrival. Earliest check-in 4pm instructions not provided until then. Checkout by 10am.
We paid £352 for 3 nights for 2 people but it can be booked for 4.
Negative: This rental property needs urgent attention:
Shortly after booking we were advised that there was no WIFI and there wouldn't be during our stay - unacceptable as once in the property it was obvious that there has not been WIFI for some time, we would not have booked if we'd known.
There is little point in a 50" Smart TV when there was no internet/broadband, when I raised this it was not addressed as it should have been. DVDs provided no DVDs. With TV not working no other source of entertainment, no radio etc as it was all on the TV.
Entrance door is stiff to open and needs attention - flies, unpleasant smell and a dirty towel on the coat rack , the property is a Victorian building and this apartment is on the top floor i.e. 42 steps from entrance hall to door of apartment and the last flight are incredibly steep and narrow with carpet fraying on the top step an obvious and dangerous trip hazard. It was difficult to know who else was in the property as the main entrance door was often left unlocked, despite signs to say lock it. Kitchen-dirty cups, shelf in the fridge stuck with parcel tape, the toaster gave off green sparks the one time we used it so didn't re-use. Needs more glasses of different sizes. Salt & pepper nothing else. Overlooked from the back.
Living area - strip between kitchen and living area needs securing, it is a trip hazard. There is a dining table and two chairs but not really the space to utilise this and if you are a party of four there are only two chairs. Two sofas but they are lacking in support. Plug sockets not working and dusty lampshades. Filthy window - which spoiled the view.
Bathroom - the shower doors do not close properly, left door not on the guide track properly.
Bedroom 1 (front) - the curtains are on rings on a curtain pole, that do not fit properly, curtains are too light for a morning sun (4.30am). Filthy window. Bedroom 2 (back) - wardrobe full of items, had to remove to use.

Disappointing
Positive: The location being right opposite Filey Beach.
Negative: The apartment was advertised as 3rd floor but was in fact 4 floors up.
When you opened the door of the 3rd floor apartment it was in fact up a further flight of extremely steep narrow stairs. Totally unsuitable for anyone with a mobility issue and was never stated on the original description. There was a problem with the shower door which continually came off the tracking and there was no WIFI, to be fair I was advised on arrival, but the fact the TV was accessed by the internet, made that unusable for us, despite a written note that we could access it through live TV on settings we were unable to find the sat imput setting. There was also a problem with closing one set of bedroom curtains as there were no hooks to hang them from. I did leave a text report to the contact name given on apartment info provided but have had no response. I also informed cleaners of problem with shower door.

Very tired. Curtains and blinds hanging off. Sofa and beds uncomfortable. Pillows terrible and only one each. Shower door off rail so couldn’t close. Only a couple of glasses for 4 people. 3 mugs for 4 people. Gardens are not communal which a neighbour told us to our embarrassment. No outside bin so we had to take our rubbish across the road to a communal bin. Up 4 flights of really steep staircases so take this into consideration if you struggle. No WiFi and no phone signal.
And to top it off my husband left a couple of aftershaves on the dresser but they said nothing was there a few hours later when I messaged them.
