On entering, we noticed how dusty and mouldy/damp the property is. There are old damp stains on the walls and humidifiers in each of the rooms, indicating they are aware of the issue. for 3 evenings we noticed small slugs entering the kitchen from a crack under the floor. we took them out but there'd me more the next day. And to top things off the carpet had completely come away from the stairs, exposing nails which I stepped on. We put a towel down on those steps to prevent my children from stepping on the nails.
Cleaners clearly struggle to keep the property dust-free given the amount of clutter. Cupboards and drawers are dust-filled and smelly. In the kitchen, a dirty cracked sponge and no dish cloth was left for us so we bought our own. Despite the wonderful location, the place was a serious disappointment. It's agency-managed with plenty of rules that are sent immediately and spelt out firmly (and rudely in my view). But it needs a lot of maintenance and repair before reletting.
Temple street is perfect for a group and its location is fantastic .
Would definitely recommend
peaceful and perfectly positioned Brighton stay, 10/10
Positive: beautiful house, excellent amenities
We had a lovely stay on a quiet street.Just so easy for shopping and dining out.Waitrose and coop 5 mins away.Sea 10 mins walk.Comfortable accommodation.
Felt like a home away from home.
Positive: Great & efficient communication. Lovely large & comfortable family home in a great location. Close to everything but still quiet. We enjoyed it so much, we immediately booked another stay next week when we’re back in Brighton.
Negative: Nothing
Had a great stay. Property is as described, spacious and well maintained. The outside terrace and courtyard off the kitchen are a bonus.
It's extremely central, short walk to the beach and other local amenities. Easy walk to the lanes.
Waitrose and Sainsbury's 5min walk away.
Would thoroughly recommend
The property is in an excellent location and centre of Brighton is a 15 min walk. The lack of parking is a problem and this reflects in my ‘value rating’. We parked nearer to Hove to avoid the extortionate local parking fees. The house is large but it’s NOT a 4 bedroom property. The 4th room is a box room at the end of the kitchen with a small sofa bed and next to a smelly bathroom. It’s not an attractive or comfortable room to sleep in. The listing should amend to 3 bedroom.
The bathroom upstairs is fine but the toilet brush is old and stained. Change these for every guest please? They’re £1.99!
The Hosting Co were professional and prompt in all dealings but I would ask? Is this someone’s home or a professional let? There was unopened mail on the mantelpiece. There were unlocked kitchen cupboards with wine in them….are they for the guests? There are lots of half eaten boxes of food etc but no complimentary milk in the fridge.
I expect more for the price.
The house is in a wonderful location, central & quiet, very close to the sea and shops. It is spacious, with a fabulous kitchen and eating space. The outdoor deck (on the first floor) is ideal. The two bedrooms are large (though the third is the walk through to the deck, so not ideal for everyone). The lounge is lovely. The kitchen was well stocked & the appliances worked.
Our problem was the main bathroom, or rather the Host's lack of adequate response to the bathroom problem. On arrival, we found the main toilet cistern lid turned upside down & the cistern empty (no flush). The cleaning team had clearly left it like this, so we expected the matter to be dealt with. I informed the Host, sending pictures. The Host responded quickly & positively, but did not resolve the problem, or make any real effort to do so during our stay (three nights).
There's a downstairs toilet, so we were ok. But it detracted from our stay. The Host seems keen on guests' obligations, but less so on their own.
We had a wonderful time in the accommodation which was really well equipped and very comfortable, in a great location.
Good location, great facilities
Excellent place to stay in Brighton. Really well located in a vibrant area a stones throw from the beach. The terrace is such a great outdoor space! Recommend.
What a beautiful property, in a fabulous location. Our host was responsive and helpful. We loved our stay, thank you.
Beautiful house, huge spaces and very comfortable bedrooms.
Despite it being a bit humid, it definitely proved to be what we were looking for!
A fabulous stay. Exactly how you would expect a seaside townhouse to be. Incredibly location, lots of space and quiet. Absolutely perfect for a weekend break.
It was a lovely home in a very good location! It was easy to get to the pier and the main town. The place itself was clean and had all the amenities!
Lovely spacious house close to beach and everything you need nearby.
Dale cancelled our booking 10 minutes after our check in time, leaving us without accommodation. Literally the worst behaviour I have ever seen on this platform.
A lovely place to stay in a great location! Would definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful week in this excellent house. It’s incredibly spacious, very well equipped and on a lovely, quiet residential road, which is close to the sea front as well as the centre of Brighton. The super king bed was very comfortable and is next to the large, luxurious bathroom. Can’t fault it and highly recommend.
