Very well equipped Airbnb, loved all the games and little touches, hidden gem! Great place for my family to stay to host a 60th birthday! Only tip I would say is if you have any more than 4 guests showering in the morning, flick the emersion heater on for extra hot water!
Beautiful views off the balcony, peaceful and prefect getaway. The flat was clean and held to a high standard. Bed linen was clean and tidy. Great facilities in kitchen and sitting room everything you needed. The pack man machine the kids love and a great addition to the property. you guys were very accommodating. Even when we where late checking out due to out child being poorly they were very understanding. we shall be returning again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Halloween weekend of fun and dress up Positive: The apartment was very lovely and big. Had space for the children to play games and have fun without bean under the feet of adults. It was very clean and modern. There were games for you to play. The kitchen had every thing you need and more. As we like to seat at the table and serve are selfs. We would love to go back again for a longer time. Negative: The out side of the building but that’s not their fault as it’s was an old hotel. Don’t judge the cover of the book for what you seen inside, was very good. Could do with the key pick up bean a bit earlier about 2pm. The car park is first come first served. Only about 6 place.
Positive: The facility was amazing and a great space in a great location for us as a family. So close to the beach and some nice little extras for the rainy days we had. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the kitchen, bedrooms and living room were.well equipped meaning we needed to think about very little so we could really relaxg Negative: Nothing
This flat is beautifully placed near the town and the beach, with incredible views out to sea. The flat is really spacious and is very clean. What the listing doesn't currently acknowledge is that the flat is directly above the ballroom event space and a bar and the noise coming from both lasted from early afternoon onto 1am. for those out and about on an evening it might not matter too much but we had to stay in with two young kids who couldn't get to sleep due to the noise. there really is no escape from it in the flat and I can't stress h enough how much you hear from downstairs. I would also add that there was a strong smell of weed and lots of litter around the entrance to the flats which is also something to take into consideration if you have kids. Overall the flat has great potential to be a really love lovely place to stay but I'm not sure we would rebook.

I would definitely stay again, great to have parking in Whitby and still be able to walk in the town easily. Main Pros: Finished to a beautiful standard from the decorating to the furnishings excellent throughout. New carpet, underfloor heating in bathrooms, the works! Spotlessly clean, superb! Spacious and everyone had privacy and large bedrooms. Great location, amazing views. Lovely big balcony which we used even in November. Cons: I didn’t realise there is an entertainment hall downstairs so there is noise until 11-12pm, this didn’t disturb us much as we were away for a birthday weekend out ourselves. Apart from this very quiet. There are white noise machines in each room and I always travel with ear plugs anyway. There is an additional insurance charge before you check in which isn’t optional and isn’t stated on the advert. It would be fine if it was stated before you book that’s all. We had a wonderful weekend and would highly recommend this place
first time user of Host and Stay and I have to say I am impressed with the communication we have had. The apartment is in a superb spot with wonderful sea views. very very comfortable to relax in. plenty of space, there were 5 adults. Impressed with the comfortable large beds and lovely bedding. The owners have done a great job in providing what is needed to make life simple, easy and relaxing and the calm colours and unfussy decor was a pleasure to stay in. would definitely go again and we were fortunate not to have the Karaoke downstairs .
We made the best of it. Lucky that one of our party was virtually deaf so they had the noisiest bedr Positive: The balcony, although dirty and we cleaned it ourselves, was lovely to sit and enjoy the view. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was nice and spacious. Negative: Cleanliness was a bit of a problem, left over shampoo and dust behind the bath, sand and dirt in the washing machine, sand in the bedroom drawers makes you wonder how well cleaned everything else was. There was left over spices, sauces, olive oil, soy sauce etc etc in the cupboard that were unusable because of use by date issues. We actually dared to use the olive oil but it had clearly gone off as it had gone creamy. It's nice that dishwashing liquid or laundry liquid is left but food is not appropriate to be left behind. We had to ask booking.com several times if there was a lift in the building because one of our party struggles with stairs. We received differing answers. There turned out to be a lift but it broke down on day 3. AND the music on Friday and Saturday nights was horrendous. Unbeknownst to us there was a music festival on during our stay so the music problem was even worse than stated in the property description. Keys were very difficult to get our of the key box especially if you are not very tall.

Beautiful apartment close to the center of Whitby. Loved the sea views and balcony. The place was spotless! So relaxing. Easy check in as well. Parking is hit and miss but there is a public car park nearby which is £9.00 for 24 hours. We could faintly hear music from the bar below but it didn’t bother us at all, just something to bear in mind. We were there during goth weekend so it’s to be expected and wasn’t too loud to the point where you can’t sleep. Overall a perfect couple of days staying in this apartment in Whitby. Highly recommend and would book again!

So nice we’re going again in a few weeks it is so large you all have your own space to move around and relax it’s so warm and cosy the beds are so comfy that’s a great thing also so quite to say you’re yards away from the sea and main roads stayed in Whitby on many occasions this my 4th time in this building and this apartment wins hands down

Beautiful Location and Facilities. Positive: Cleaning and location was fantastic 👌. Negative: The lift was very old-fashioned and extremely narrow. The management should now consider replacing or upgrading it to meet modern standards. It was particularly difficult for disabled people who need someone to accompany and assist them, especially when using a wheelchair.
We really enjoyed our stay in Whitby. Apartment was spacious and well appointed, rooms and beds were very comfortable. Amazing location on the seafront and a short walk to the town and restaurants... The Chinese downstairs was a real bonus and would encourage you to try the munch box (box filled with salt and pepper chips, other Chinese delights like chicken balls and pot of curry sauce). Pizza West in the park is well worth a visit too. Parking was really easy outside and there was lift which was great for taking our luggage up and down. My son's loved the Pacman games console... but the sea view was the best part, especially at sunset! 🌅😎 Only negatives were the apartment was not properly cleaned when we arrived. They did offer to send the housekeeping team back but we just had a quick clean around and it was fine. Not sure if it was due to the hot weather but the water pressure was very low so the amazing rainfall showers were not great.
This is an extremely spacious and well appointed apartment with fantastic sea views. We arrived during a period when most of England was enduring a heat wave, but the apartment was lovely and cool. We had a great week there. We were a party of four arriving in two cars. We had no problem parking one car on-street using the scratch card permit provided and we left one car in one of the limited number (three or four) spaces on-site. Although both bathrooms have steps leading up to them, the apartment has plenty of motion sensor lights to make sure this is not a problem at night time. The Whitby hop-on hop-off bus stops within 100 yards of the apartment block. There is a Chinese restaurant on the ground floor of this former hotel block and we ate there once and it was good, if somewhat expensive. We also had a great Sunday lunch at the Witching Post Inn, Egton, a lovely family run experience and we also ate at the wonderful pub, the Fox and Hounds at Dalehouse Bank near Staithes.
Lovely, well spaced apartment with beautiful ocean views. Very responsive owners / management firm (thank you Charlie!) - highly recommend to anyone going to Whitby!
As others have said the outside area and entrance is pretty grotty. The accomodation was fine, spacious, nice bathrooms and comfy beds. However we didn't use the balconies as it looked like they had never been cleaned.

A beautiful, spacious, light-filled apartment, with wonderful views over the sea and an easy walk down into Whitby and the harbour. Very nicely furnished and decorated, loved the lights in the lounge! Comfortable beds. Well equipped, modern kitchen with a plentiful supply of basic cooking essentials such as herbs, spices, oil, tea, coffee, sugar etc. For coffee lovers, there are two coffee makers – a L'or pod machine and a fully automatic Delonghi expresso machine which takes beans. As mentioned in previous reviews, the entrance to the building could use some TLC, but entering the apartment is like walking into another world. Parking was easy when we were there midweek, with one space in the car park out front, plus a parking pass provided for the W zones around town, with plenty of spaces available close by. Overall, one of the nicest holiday rental properties we have experienced.
Great location, 5 minute walk to Whitby arch and easy to get to all the main places. Lovely apartment, very spacious and great views. Could do with updating some of the furniture. The settees were looking a bit worn and were very low, not really a problem but we had a few older members of our party who struggled with how low they were. Also the outdoor furniture could have done with sweeping down of the cobwebs and a few corners in the house could have done with a better clean as we saw a few cobwebs. Apart from this everything was very clean. The nightlights were a great touch if you needed the toilet during the night these came on automatically when you walked past them. Great communication from the host, we had a small problem which was dealt with promptly. Overall a great stay and would definitely come back again.
I am currently waiting to see if Host & Stay are going to give a refund as compensation for the lack of cleanliness with the unusable oven, the filthy extractor fans, the dirty and untidy balcony which would have been no pleasure to sit out on. I have complained formally to them, but this review has to be in by tomorrow and they have asked for 10 working days to get back to me about my complaint. The acid test will be whether I get a compensation payment for having to eat out each evening. I do have photographs of all the problems and the state of the oven, extractor fans, balcony, broken cabinet, etc.

Location, Location, Location on the sea front. We had an amazing stay here, I would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. It has 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and is on the first floor, with a lift in the building. Beds were firm but comfortable and everything well cleaned and a well-equipped kitchen. 2 bathrooms perfect for us. Wifi excellent too. Front sea views and balcony (was the metropole hotel originally) and all of us were really pleased. It had everything we needed and more. High ceilings lots of space and large windows, decorated beautifully. Parked in a space in their car park and we got a permit to use around the area. Settled in with stunning views and then went for a walk along the cliff edge with views over Whitby. Good Chinese restaurant at the flats, which you wouldn’t know it’s there. We did pay the £39 insurance it makes it easier! A perfect getaway with my friends.
We really liked the apartment. It was very comfortable, spacious and full of light. The location was great, so near the beach; far enough away from the centre to be peaceful but still easy walking distance. Loved to sea views. Note, there are quite big steps into the bathrooms. I booked to stay with my 86 year old mother so this was not ideal. I worried she’d fall in the night. The parking right outside the door was appreciated as were the parking passes for on street parking in the town. We loved Sandsend - the beachfront cafe is a must! As mentioned by someone else, the entrance lobby and lift for the building are really shabby but once past that the apartment is lovely.

We loved this apartment - stunning views out over the sea and very handy for the beach. It was a short walk into the town centre and everything was easy to find. The kitchen was very well equipped and the kids loved the PacMan game!

Like the other reviews say, the immediate impression of the faded grandeur of the hotel is a bit off putting but once inside the flat is absolutely beautiful! Huge spacious rooms overlooking the sea, amazing! So lovely that every room has a balcony. Great location, handy for all things and a short walk into Whitby to good local bars and restaurants. The flat is amazing and all the games are a lovely addition and helped entertain the kids in the evening!
After getting past the entrance which wasnt a good first impression with flaky paint and signs of moisture the actual accommodation was beautiful. The sea view is fantastic. The facilities are very impressive with games, binoculars and as much kitchen equipment as you need. A delicious coffee machine
Amazing, brilliant and would stay again. Positive: Great location, lovely views, nice and spacious in the apartment which was well equipped and clean. Negative: Water was lukewarm for a shower but we survived the first day, shower was ice cold the second day. Struggling to wash up had to boil the kettle to get hot water.
We loved our stay in Whitby! What a beautiful apartment, and really well equipped. The views were fantastic and the sofas and beds were so comfy! We especially loved the big bathtub. The apartment was a short walk along the beach from the centre of Whitby and we felt so lucky to have a large balcony overlooking the sea! Overall, it was a lovely stay. It was, however, slightly tricky to communicate with Host & Stay to facilitate and pay for an extended checkout. There was no direct phone line to communicate with who I was messaging with and the process to pay for an extended check out felt more complicated than necessary. We got it sorted in the end, but the automated messages from Host and Stay didn’t reflect the extended check out time, which felt confusing!
Positive: The apartment is beautiful and incredibly well equipped, had everything and more someone would need. Views were spectacular, being able to park was great, ideal location. Negative: We felt check in was a little on the late side, appreciate if someone has been staying the night before time for cleaning is needed though. Only minor issue we had were the bins in 2 of the bedrooms has not been emptied and hairs in one of the showers.

Well equipped flat with sea views on edge of Whitby Positive: Beautiful large 1st floor flat, clean and well equiped with sea views. Big comfortable beds, quiet during our stay even tho its over a pub. Lots of board games. Heating worked well once you know how to work it ;) Shame about the letting agent. Negative: Flat was very cold on arrival (especially bathrooms!) and without hot water plus there was a bad smell in one of the bedrooms - Host & Stay did not respond to our request for help with this so it took a while to work out how to use the 'smart' system and wait for immersion to heat tank. We didnt trace the smell, so opened patio doors to air daily, not ideal! Not sure if Host & Stay is AI as we got robotic answers and were not allowed check in any earlier than 4pm even tho flat had obviously been empty for a while.
from the outside it's very deceiving, then when you walk in the apartment,it's absolutely stunning, the decor is amazing, and the sea views you can sit and watch all day. simply the best apartment we have ever stayed in, and will definitely be booking again.

Beautiful flat, amazing location, amazing views. The kitchen was well kitted out and was very clean, apart from a slight smell of cigarette smoke. Only thing to note is that the pub below was very loud till 2am on the karaoke. However, the place is amazng and I would visit again.
We booked the Metropole at the last minute for a mid-week stay and were really impressed with the apartment. Really nice views from the balconies and a great location for exploring Whitby. Very comfortable bedrooms, spacious living room and kitchen. Hosts were very responsive.

Negative: Downside was the bar underneath, horrendous racket weekend nights, everyone doesn't want to go out till the early hours, I know it can't be helped but there should be a proper warning not just saying there might be abit of noise, that's an understatement, otherwise great place.
Lovely apartment. Positive: Apartment was really lovely inside. Excellent bathrooms, kitchen well equipped. Lovely sea view. Negative: The noise from the bar and other residents made it difficult to relax in the evenings. There was a fight in the street outside on our first evening, it made me feel a little unsafe to be out in the evenings.
What a wonderful apartment. incredibly comfy and very spacious. Very well equipped and we loved the beautiful big windows which looked out to the sea view. Location was also brilliant and Whitby center was only a few minutes walk with plenty on the street available too including mini golf and outdoor pool and direct beach access. The host was very informative and it was great that the apartment had everything from board games to white noise machined to parking passes to make our stay a breeze. The only thing of note I'd say is that I think the listing should be clearer that the apartment sits above a busy bar and for our stay there was karaoke every night which we could hear loudly until late. This didn't bother us but had we have been travelling with younger children this would certainly be an issue I'd want to know about.
Lovely stay in a great location, but experience spoiled a little by noise from karaoke and unclean balcony. Positive: Lots of space, great amenities throughout the apartment with large bedrooms and communal area. Comfortable beds and modern bathrooms; one with a large bath. Great location near to the beach. Negative: Extensive balcony area wasn’t clean so we couldn’t use it. Having to pay £25 Damage Waiver or £250 bond seems excessive. Apartment is located above a bar/pub. Second night was karaoke night and music was very loud until after midnight.
Great stay spoiled by the points noted above. Would hesitate dealing with Host & Stay as a result. Positive: Location was excellent and amenities were faultless. Beds very comfortable. Negative: Laborious booking procedures. Need to cough up £250 in order to obntain access code. No parking disc available. Balcony was unusable due to cigaratte ends and other detritus.

Fantastic place to stay. parking as always round whitby is a little tricky at times. but we managed to get parked at the property. everything you need a genuine home from home with sea views and whitby centre 10 min walk away. Good pub downstairs that does a great breakfast every morning. we can't wait wait to go back and would definitely recommend staying here.
