Positive: Perfect for all our needs. No.8 was comfortable, modern, clean and well situated for staying in Alnwick and visiting the surrounding area. Even the car had it's own undercover parking spot ! Would definitely stay there again when next in the area. We stayed for 2 weeks. Loved it ! 😃

The apartment was nice, clean and well located. But the washing machine and dishwasher were not working for our longer stay which was annoying and inconvenient. Both had been broken for some time and despite frequent messages nothing was rectified. We found Host&Stay were quick to send messages, often in the middle of the night, but took no action to sort the problems out. The washing machine was broken for at least two weeks before we arrived, and the inside of the dishwasher was mouldy - so these were not new issues. I do not think I could recommend Host&Stay, which is disappointing as the apartment itself was lovely just let down by poor maintenance.

As we were only using it as a base to sleep and breakfast it met our needs. Will not be returning. Positive: I was within 100 yards of where my family live. Negative: Had to ring on the day of our departure to obtain the key box code. There was black mould in the grouting between the bathroom tiles. There was also a screw loose on the top of the shower screen which fell into the bath. There was no connection to the main channels on the television (no Sky or Freesat/Freeview). The door on the kitchen cupboard which housed the rubbish bag was ill fitting and did not close completely. The welcome pack consisted of a few tea bags, sugar and milk sachets. Although it was Xmas there was no effort made to make it festive.

Positive: UNIT CLEAN, BEING ON SECOND FLOOR WAS DISAPPOINTING, I USE A CANE. SHOWER SPALSHED EVERYWHERE A WRAP AROUND CURTAIN IS NEEDED OR BETTER YET A WALK IN SHOWER = I HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING IN AND OUT. LASTLY A CUTTING BOARD IN THE KITCHEN WOULD BE NICE.

Perfect Alnwick Apartment Positive: A very nicely appointed apartment which was perfect for two couples. Alnwick Castle in walking distance which was high on our list to visit. Other local amenities also within walking distance. Highly recommended. Negative: Nothing really to complain about. Our only very minor gripe was that for four people for four days there was just a single loo roll! Another spare wouldn’t have gone a miss 😊

Everything you need, so nice and great value for money! Positive: Really nicely presented, loved the shampoos etc and that there was washing up liquid etc to use! Loved that you had the ikea kids stuff too! It was such a nice apartment and we will definitely be back! Negative: Only fault was the floor wasn’t hoovered on the rug in the living room so my son was picking bits up off the floor. And the door needs a chain lock higher up as our son could unlock and open the door himself which is hard to stop with a 2.5 year old. But that’s such a minor feedback. Everything else was the best!

Great location, comfortable but lacking in certain amenties. Positive: It's in a great location, easy to walk into Alnwick. The bedrooms were comfortable. It has a living room with nice sofas and kitchen. Also has it's own parking space. Negative: The facilities could be better. There was only one toilet roll for 2 of us for a few days which I thought was bad. Also no bathroom amenities such as shower gel which was advertised. No sponge for washing up in the kitchen. I did ask for these but they weren't supplied. So I'd bring you're own things if you stay here.

Very pleasant stay for just a few days. Positive: Very clean and as described. Good location for shops and castle. Good heating when needed. Negative: Second floor and no lift, so carrying luggage up not easy for us over 70s! Fixed shower which was difficult to control and flooded window sill.

Positive: Great location only 5mins walk into Alnwick. Private parking was handy. Overall the flat was clean and tidy so no complaints

Exactly as expected. Very modern and clean . Shower very powerful but difficult to control. We extended our stay to make the most of Alnwick. Lovely area with amazing seasides and castles.

We had a great stay here and would stay again. The parking area was good and instructions for the key easy to follow. It is comfortable and quiet, but near the Castle, Gardens, Barter Books, restaurants, bars and shops. It had all the facilites and appliances that we needed for a relaxing stay. There is a folder with all the manuals in if needed for the appliances, eg induction hob. We stayed during the heatwave and all the windows can be opened to let the breeze in. The shower is good, but water does stand on the window ledge, but soon dried in the hot weather. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The apartment is on the second floor and helped with our fitness regime, but some people may need to take this into account. The communication with the host was very good and he replied very quickly. Thanks again for a great stay!

Studio No.8 was the perfect base for our stay. Clean and tidy, with everything we needed to feel at home. A short walk to the town and there are plenty of options for eating out. The private parking space is a great addition too. We very much hope to stay again in the future.

Loved the location, very close to Alnwick town, lots of pubs/bars (Ale Gate a favourite!) nearby, and especially great for Barter Books which was a huge plus point for us. The castle was easy to walk to and it meant we didn't have to worry too much about parking. Was also great to have a dedicated, covered car park space for us. The flat on the whole was nice, good size, bathroom and kitchen were nice. Unfortunately, on arrival we noticed how incredibly uncomfortable both beds were, with springs protruding from the mattresses. I messaged Host and Stay and credit to them they got back to us straight away. They ordered mattress toppers right away (though we did have to suggest this!) which were delivered the next day, and these really did help. Though it may be a suggestion to invest in some new mattresses? Also, almost every kitchen item had to be handwashed/put through dishwasher before we could use them due to food stains etc. Sadly, the place just lacked a bit of care.

All good. A couple of minor details. The toilet seat lid needs replacing. We would have liked a grab rail for when climbing into the bath (we are used to walk in showers).

Great flat with a good location

A lovely flat. Location was perfect with parking provided. Flat was clean and useful amenities provided.

Well situated close to the town centre, Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Also ideal area to explore Northumberland. Flat was clean and had all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The only criticisms are that the fridge didn’t close or stay shut properly unless it was forced, and the mattress was very soft and not the most comfortable.

Lovely apartment and we would stay again if it were not for the tv which did not work at all when we arrived, and still did not work properly during our three day stay and we are still waiting for compensation. We were also totally ripped off paying £40 to check in 2.5hrs early (at 1.30pm). I would not recommend using Host and Stay! Had we realised there was a third party involved re this apartment we may have thought again. It was a lovely apartment but the failure to provide any tv instructions and the failure of the owner to provide any was absolutely shocking. There was also a very misleading WIFI code, and the £40 fee was the last straw!

Studio 8 was spotlessly clean with excellent amenities. It was within walking distance of the town centre and a great base for exploring the wider area. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Good stay all in all - perfect location for Alnwick. Let down by beds! Positive: Location was great, apartment was really clean - with one exception (see below). Negative: Beds were not comfortable and that would stop us staying again. Old mattresses with springs that dug into you making sleep quite difficult. The shower was a step over both job - the bath mat to stop you skidding in the bath was really dirty which was a shame as everything else was so clean. Surely for the sake of a few £'s this bath mat should have been replaced.

the flat is nice and well equipped. The fridge, however, is rather small and not well sealed so froze most of the food. the shower head is fixed so cannot be adjusted. being on the second floor would mean you are best being a light packer as it was quite difficult to carry suitcases through so many flights of stairs. overall, an enjoyable stay and great location to town and public transport.

Overall enjoyable stay. Up two flights of stairs though so worth considering this if you have any mobility issues. Quiet of an evening. Alnwick centre was easily walkable as was a supermarket (Lidl). Apartment was clean and modern so no complaints.

Great apartment in the middle of Alnwick, world definitely stay again

Excellent location in Alnwick with the most powerful shower ever experienced! Positive: This property couldn’t have been better located in Alnwick - right by Barter Books and a Lidl and easy walking distance into the town, castle and gardens-perfect! Everything you needed was provided, although only one toilet roll - luckily we had another in our van! The shower was out of this world - super powerful! Negative: Main gripe was that we couldn’t use the fridge on arrival as the freezer compartment door had been left open so had completely frosted up. This therefore meant that the fridge door wouldnt close either, so we had to do some defrosting and ice chipping before the doors would close and we could use the fridge. Mattress and pillows were too soft for my liking but I’m just fussy!

Highly recommended for a stay in Alnwick, to explore the town & surrounding area! Positive: Bright and airy apartment, well decorated and very well equipped. Great communication from the owner/agent. Ideally located within the town, quiet area but a 5-10 min walk from the center. Negative: Maybe some hooks on the backs of bedroom doors for dressing gowns, coats etc would make things easier for guests. Smaller bedroom has limited clothes storage space.

Excellent apartment very conveniently located for all sights and restaurants/shops in Alnwick. Our second visit and would not hesitate to book again.

This is a great flat in a brilliant location. Lots of great pubs and restaurants - all walkable. Also a good location to explore. We managed Holy Island, Hadrian’s Wall and Newcastle city centre.

Positive: Location was very convenient for what we wanted to do.

Negative: The mattress could have been better quality and it would have been useful to have maybe glass dishes/casserole dishes suitable for microwave.

Positive: We loved the light and spaciousness in this apartment, it was so clean and fresh and in perfect order for us. We loved the quiet location and its convenience to the town too. Great spot in lovely Alnwick. Positive: The fact the bedding and towels had been professionally laundered and didn’t therefore smell of fabric conditioner - as someone with skin allergies this is hugely appreciated. The location and the decor/tidiness. Negative: The dishwasher was mouldy, filthy and unusable and no washing up liquid/sponge had been left so had to go and buy our owns

Very nice quiet apartment Positive: Parking space. Very nice apartment and very clean with all the essential equipment. Peaceful place. 10' walk from shops and restaurants. We did not see the hosts because we collected the key in a safe after calling them. They send us the code upon check-in after agreeing they will keep GBP 10.00 for a handling fee. Negative: It was mentioned that a security deposit of GBP 250 would be charged to our credit card and fully refunded within 14 days of departure. But just before taking the key we must accept that GBP 10.00 will be used for the administration fee. So they only refund you GBP 240.00 and this fee should be mentioned on the booking.com website. I contacted the hosts but the GBP is not refunded in any case and I think that is not very correct not to say it before booking.

Positive: Pulizia, accessori e ambienti…ma soprattutto la posizione con supermercato a 100 metri e la favolosa Burter books praticamente davanti! Incantevole!

Everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Alnwick, would happily stay again. Positive: Apartment very well located for everything in Alnwick but was also in a very quiet area. Reserved parking was great bonus.
