Lovely place, ideally located to explore the area. Great if you have a dog. If you like to get out walking the area is beautiful. Oh and the dark sky... fabulous.

Lovely place, ideally located to explore the area. Great if you have a dog. If you like to get out walking the area is beautiful. Oh and the dark sky... fabulous.
Bedding, towels, bathroom immaculate. Cottage was very dusty with dead spiders hanging all over. A few we could accept due to it being an old cottage. Outside space was very untidy and overgrown. The cottage has fabulous stone walls and has potential if cleaned up. Alwinton is a beautiful tiny village with a great pub serving great food. Ideal for walking and bird watching. No lampost in the village so take your phone for a torch
Alwinton is a lovely place and the cottage is a great base from which to explore the area. The communication from the host and details before arrival was excellent. The cottage has everything you need, almost too much for a place that only sleeps 2. I think it could actually do with a sofa bed in the lounge to accommodate a family. The split mattress on the double bed, isn't massively comfortable, but okay for a few nights. The backyard wasn't really usable.Overall we had a nice stay
Positive: Excellent location it was peaceful and scenic experience. Negative: The garden did not have gates, so it was not safe for a dog.
Great stay in a lovely cosy Cottage Positive: Location and facilities Negative: Nothing
The garden outside the conservatory could do with tidying. Positive: Bedroom Bathroom Kitchen Negative: Lack of hot water spoilt the stay had to leave 2 nights earlier than originally booked.
lovely accommodation and location however, cleanliness could have been better. logs for the fire were stacked outside in the winter weather, totally sodden. couldn't use the conservatory due to no heating or lighting and a tarpaulin over the outer roof, clearly been leaking. smell of must upon arrival. conservatory doors inner & outer wouldn't lock nor would the external key box. entry lobby had a mass of post on the floor along with somebody's hearing aid! No WiFi was a bit of a pain but being off the radar wasn't such an issue. Just offering constructive honest feedback.
Lovely cottage, would stay again! Positive: Fantastic location Welcome biscuits, tea & coffee Dishwasher Cosy and warm Really friendly owner Underfloor heating in the bathroom Electric blanket Fab shower and bathroom with heated towel rail Good sized towels Lots of storage space in the bedroom Convenient parking Lots of info on the surrounding area Negative: No extractor fan in the kitchen so the wall is really stained Cobwebs in the living room, we felt it could all do with a deep clean but the bathroom was really clean as we're the fridge and all floors Lovely Comfy bed but really squeaky as is the bathroom door All minor points which could be easily rectified and we would absolutely stay again.
Cute cottage in a lovely hamlet ! Positive: Lovely warm quirky cottage Heating on arrival made a welcome we won’t forget ! Negative: Controls were a bit difficult to understand for hot water . But host and stay sent me instructions.
