Host & Stay | Stone Beck Lodge — Guest Reviews

When we arrived we noticed the property was damaged before even opening the door . The door catch didn’t even line up and as we walked in a piece of trim fell off. A cupboard door hinge also hanging off. There was no hand soap after using the toilet and bugs and dead flies in the bed when we pulled the covers open. We tried to use the other beds but they were the same and had stains on the sheets . The mattress was not fit for purpose the maintenance team came and said they will report it back to the host and stay . The hot tub had mould in the grids and the outside furniture was damaged and unsafe to sit on. Worst place I’ve ever stayed and the host refused a refund after admitting the bed was not fit for sleeping on. We went home early because we could not sleep another night on that bed. How I was charged for somewhere not fit to sleep and disgusting with bugs in the sheets is beyond fathomable . Do not waste your money at this site.

The place was lovely and in a very nice area. Received a check in form a few hours before check in and had the choice to pay a £40 fee or £250 deposit to cover potential damages and stated that a even a spillage will cost a £200 cleaning fee. There was no prior information about this and receiving it only a few hours before we were due to be there put a negative start to the trip. It was overall a beautiful lodge in a very nice area.

Positive: the location is beautiful Negative: not clean enough...

The perfect weekend getaway, great resturant and drink facilities on site, really enjoyed!
