Not a double bed as advertised Positive: Apartment on a whole is nice, well situated and in good condition Negative: The bed! Or should I say beds, this doesn't have a double bed as advertised, it is 2 singles that feels like it has a kerb running down the middle, if you like sleeping on opposite sides of the bed to your partner then please book it, otherwise you will have probably the worst night's sleep you've had in a hotel

Very disappointed, no communication regarding issues from the host no TV and a very bad nights sleep Positive: The location was good Negative: There was no remote for the smart TV so it was totally unusable. I messaged the host as soon as I got there telling them I couldn't find it. They ignored my message until the next morning at 9.35am (25 mins before checkout) saying we should check all the cupboards and it was there. Obviously we had checked everywhere including down the back of the sofa and even under the sofa. Also the best was 2 x very small single beds pushed together and the gap in the middle was extremely uncomfortable so neither me or my partner slept well. I messaged all this to them in the morning when they had finally replied to my message and the didn't seem to care at all or offer any solution. The kettle was also disgusting and the place is not anywhere near as nice as it looks in the photos. Anyone thinking of staying there be warned to not expect a good nights sleep on the most uncomfortable bed I have ever experienced in an rental apartment.

On arrival on checking round no tv remote messaged was told one was on order put an app on your phone tried this need tv remote messaged to explain no reply 😡😡my partner rely’s on the tv as doesn’t sleep so well you pay a lot of money and expect to get what you paid for ….advice to future travellers try park outside the property to just drop your luggage parking area W absolute nightmare to park in and you wouldn’t want to carry a lot of luggage from there ….

Dog friendly accomodation in good location Positive: Good location. Dog friendly accomodation. Apartment had everything needed for a weekend break and plenty got tea, coffee and milk. Other reviews stated uncomfortable bed and noise from room above but we didn't experience this. Negative: Had to pay an extra £20 insurance which we didn't know about until after payment had been taken for the apartment. Strange smell in the bedroom. Only half a toilet roll for the whole weekend. Stain on sofa and mould in shower.
Decent place but let down by various factors. Positive: The place was clean and tidy, close to town, parking permit provided.Nice and cosy and warm. Negative: No email providing safe box code for the keys. Had to ring them to get it, then they gave me an incomplete code. took us an hour to get in while my disabled wife has to sit on a clod step. When we finally got in everything seemed ok until we wanted to switch on the TV. There was no remote control so we couldn't switch it on. As we don't go out much the TV is a lifeline for my wife. On ringing them up again, I was told "it was lost and they are ordering another but it has not yet arrived" No good to us so I demanded a relocation asap. They said they would ring me back, guess what?..... no call back. Terrible customer service from a large letting firm who don't care once they have your money......BUYER BEWARE...!!!
Bad holiday Positive: Location Negative: Steps to the property when they said it was all ground floor. Mould in bathroom, musty smell. Dirty carpet and settee. Outside area dirty and dingy. Windows wouldn't open. Checked out after two days. Husband is disabled and the steps were a nightmare

Quiet Alley retreat Positive: Great location... About 5 minutes walk to the swing bridge, plenty of bars, cafés few minutes away! Immaculate property it was surprisingly cool during a stay while we were enduring a heatwave! Negative: Parking like most places in Whitby! If you can get a space to drop off your belongings you are lucky then you have to move to somewhere else to park! Scratch cards provided to park in a certain zone! I parked in the area by the hospital...Few streets by George street are free to park..(TIP)!

Positive: Location and size of the property were good Negative: General cleanliness throughout was below an expected standard and did not feel this was reflected in the price e.g. toilet dirty around rim, lots of areas dusty, sofa cover water stained. Unable to control the TV easily (unsure if this was just remote batteries) or the actual TV.
Positive: Location Negative: Bathroom very dirty tiles had to purchase cleaning products to clean before we could use. Outside area very dirty could do with a fresh paint job and better paving slabs .im disabled and tripped a few times.

Positive: Great location Negative: Unfortunately none of the windows in the property opened this was reported the Friday on arrival and after finally a maintenance man turned up on the Sunday, yes should have been the Saturday,who said they were not going to open as units had failed and asked if we had fans 😞. Due to the weather being warm we decided we couldn't take another night and left. It's now 3 weeks on and I've had no feedback from host and stay , unfortunately this ruined our bank holiday and won't be using them in the future

Positive: It was in a good location and just what we were after for a weekend away. Negative: It was noisy. No fault of the apartment itself but we could hear the kids upstairs running about constantly, crying in the night, waking us up early in the morning. Loud bangs etc. It was only peaceful when they went out or were in bed! Floor needs to be reinforced.
Positive: great location, central but quiet, a modern little place to stay in. Negative: The outside furniture needs some tlc, it was rusted and dirty. The extraction fan in the bathroom didn't work, nor did the light in the mirror. There was a dirty towel left in the vanity unit.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. One thing I would suggest is getting new mattress. It is quite worn and lumpy. Apart from that it's a great place.

An extremely painful, expensive stay Positive: All ok inside Negative: Uneven step as you go out,lighting not working so totally pitch black as entrance is down an alleyway, fell & badly sprained my ankle on first night. Spent next day resting on sofa & day after managed to make it into a taxi to go home, company admit lighting needed repair but refuse to refund my money as I didn’t notify them the day it happened, not that it would have helped as ankle was out of action for a good week or so!

Staffordshire place, Whitby. Negative: No heating on first night ( maintenance replaced thermostat batteries next day ) Fridge door awkward to close due to ill fitted cabinet door.
Location was absolutely fantastic with easy access to all the local spots. Host was easily reachable and we appreciated all the things left to enhance our stay including the coffee capsules, tea, milk, dishwasher tablets, shower gel/shampoo etc. Space was as described, facilities were good and it was very clean. Cons included parking being a little further than expected, as we were given permits for zone W, whereas the parking outside the residence was zone H. Possibly a map may be helpful for future guests so they can locate the parking permit zones? The thermosat for the heating was not working at all and the apartment was extremely hot upon arrival. This meant the windows needed to be kept open whenever we were in the property, but it also took a long time to cool down as there were only two very small openable windows in the entire apartment. Unfortunately only one loo roll was provided for the stay of 3 nights and the double bed turned out to be two attached singles, which made sleeping uncomfortable. However, overall the location and standard of the apartment resulted in an enjoyable stay.

Whitby Positive: The hideaway is situated up a courtyard alleyway opposite the Yorkshire building society on flower gate road, in-between the rows of shops there. The parking zone 'w' is on the road leading up to this saint hilda's rd. You can park briefly there to unpack your vehicle then move to the said zone 'w'. The keys are in a key safe by the front door. Its a basement style flat with a sitting area outside in the courtyard. The living area is well lit and warm, we found it well kept clean and modern open plan kitchen and living area. Nice large shower good size to and a double bedroom with space to hang your clothes. The towels and bedding where spotless to. Only stayed one night so was out and about mostly in Whitby. The location is ideal as it is quite central and the shops , pubs and harbour front are all close by so once parked up...parking permit supplied by the host ...there was no need to travel except by foot Well worth a visit enjoyed the place. Negative: Nothing bad really👍👍
Unfortunately Gone Downhill Positive: Great central location Negative: Not clean, cracker crumbs on stained sofa, shower area not cleaned, stains on radiator, floor not mopped. Outside front area dirty. Lots of noise from upstairs flat, chair dragging, heavy footsteps. We've been before and it was spotless then, so a shame

Positive: Location great and close to everything we needed…… Negative: Not being able to check in until 4pm so we really only spent the bear minimum Time in the apartment….when asked about checking in early we understood we could but had to pay extra money depending on how early we decided to check in…🙁 decided not too…. No TV in the bedroom …. Collecting the parking scratch card when we first arrived in Whitby would have been very helpful..(collection point….?) Everything else was all good ….👍

Positive: What a joke. One of the worst places I've ever stayed in. The place was dirty. The cooker didn't work and it took 2 days for them to come out and fix it. Noisy room above us through the night. No remote for the tv and when telling them on numerous occasions I got no response. Very dirty alleyway to the flat. The bed was just 2 singles pushed together and had springs poking out of the mattresses. The place was a nightmare and I wouldn't put my dog in there

Amazing location, flat was lovely, blinds and under the sofa were very dusty. We were disappointed that there was no TV remote, after a long day out walking it was a shame that we couldn’t get a channel on the tv that we wanted to watch. Overall this would have been 5* for me if the blinds and under the sofa were given a deep clean.

Stayed for two nights, few stains in the kitchen cupboards and kitchen tops slightly dusty, other than that can't complain. Found ourselves having to park a 5 minute walk away but nothing to complain about. Right near shops and pubs, quiet and hidden.
The venue was absolutely beautiful. Spotless inside and the directions to find it were clear and concise. As was the communication with Dale himself, he was helpful and always available if we needed anything. My only slight gripe was that the bed was slightly uncomfortable as you could feel the springs in the mattress ad you laid on it. But was more than doable for a night. Any more than a weekend, though and I could see it becoming an issue. Overall it was a lovely time away and would be more than happy to stay with you again.

Over night stay. Lovely property however not cleaned to very high standard’s. Check in time is 4pm however you have to leave by 10am. We called to ask for an early check in considering check out is 10am and got told this wasn’t possible, however we arrived at 2.45 and the property was ready and available. The company said they would call if property was available earlier however no call.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Worst Airbnb Experience in 10 Years As 5-star rated Airbnb guests, we’ve never felt the need to complain until now. Our recent stay was shocking. We were offered a full £170 refund by Airbnb after submitting evidence, with no dispute. Upon arrival at 9:30 PM for a quick overnight stay, it was clear the property hadn’t been cleaned properly, possibly for multiple guests. • Dirty Surfaces: Crumbs and residue on the coffee and dining tables. • Unhygienic Kitchen: Used coffee pods left in the machine and a filthy sink. • Dirty Sofa: Dust and dirt on the cushions, with more filth underneath. • Unkempt Bedroom: Cobwebs, an unvacuumed floor, and poorly arranged, uncomfortable single mattresses. • Filthy Bathroom: Slime in the grout and pubic hair on the tiles. I would write more but I don’t have enough space left ! After a 7-hour drive, we couldn’t even relax. We had no choice but to leave early. This was by far the worst Airbnb experience ever.
A aesthetically pleasing little flat with good amenities. However we were a little disappointed with the cleanliness. Kitchen had stains and bathroom had a bad smell and leftover soaps in shower from previous visitor.

My worst stay so far!! Positive: The location of the property was close to everything. Negative: The main description was wrong on the original booking as it said parking and there wasn't any. The shower and bedroom carpet had not been cleaned. There was also what looked to be sanitary towels still in the bathroom bin from the previous people. Also, the room just smelt damp from the moment we entered. Also, the fact that Host and Stay push for a deposit to cover incase of accidental damage. which, for me, should be included in the price of the property. I would not recommend this company. I'm not usually one to complain, too. But this was my worst stay with booking.com
Note: there is a compulsory damage deposit hidden in the small print. Airbnb reimbursed me for ours because - as I understood it - it’s against Airbnb policy for hosts to ask for additional payments separate to the listing. The location was very good, central, easy to walk around and the flat itself was nice - though we thought it was a bit damp smelling at first. It wasn’t easy to park in front of the entrance, which was located down a tiny alley between two shops, with only small spaces to park on temporarily (had to park a walk away from the flat for the duration using parking passes). The bed was pretty uncomfortable too, could have done with a new mattress. But despite the quibbles, the location and decor made up for it. Stylish flat well kitted out and surrounded by the bustle of the town - but surprisingly quiet in the evenings. All in all would consider coming again.

Central location to town centre, modern and clean apartment. Positive: Amazingly well appointed property, with fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine, coffee maker, good sized sofa and great shower room. Right in the centre of whitby so once parked up you don't need the car until you leave. Negative: Difficult to find, we found it by accident, needs signage outside the gate to the alleyway. Carpet in the bedroom needs cleaned or replaced as does the mattress in the bedroom. The biggest issue is with sound proofing from the property above, you can hear them stomping about. No parking near the property, but can park within 15 mins walk.
Positive: Nice large space Negative: Took too long to get key code for door. Was left waiting to check in for hrs. Had to pay extra damage insurance b4 code for door was given. This should be included in price. One payment not extra hidden payment unexplained untill payed for room and then cant get in room until paying for extras. Totally unaxeptable.left waiting to access room for hrs. Bad .
