stayed here for a weekend with my family and dog. the place is one of the most peaceful places we have ever stayed, its lushious and beautiful, great for walks, with lovely pubs nearby. the host was ever so thoughtful and the places was seriously immaculate, but also feeling cosy and homely. the host had also gone steps above by listing just about everything that could ever be dreamt of, even local fishing areas with detailed maps etc . Thank you for a sincere and beautiful rest from us all.
Lovely gem by the river! Visited recently with our dog. One of the best accommodations i have stayed. In immaculate condition, sparkling clean, super cosy with beautiful details. Its location was the best, just sitting by the river enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Walking distance or short drive to lovely pubs, lots of hikes in the area and less than 15 min drive from Whitby and other picturesque villages. Really appreciated the helpful guide that it was provided. Could not have asked for a better stay - will definitely visit again.
This place was spotlessly clean, Spacious, and super cosy. The garden was stunning, i really feel like the hosts have thought of everything, and when you book you get sent lots of useful Information. Very generous leaving wood for guests to use in the log burner and basics like milk/coffee/tea/sugar were already there so you could Brew up straight away which was much appreciated after a long car ride. The Area was postcard perfect 👌 We spent our time on long walks chasing waterfalls in the north yorkshire moors.
A very well equipped apartment, with plenty of room. Very peaceful setting with convenient dog walks. Recommend the Postgate pub in the village.
We had a great stay for a wedding at the nearby Egton Estate which is a 5 minute walk. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of wonderful countryside to walk and explore. The accommodation was easy to access and felt newly refurbished with plenty of utensils available in the kitchen. It was very clean with ample towels and bed linen. The wood burning fire was wonderful and having a river at the bottom of the garden was great for relaxing. I was lucky enough to meet the owner at the wedding and he was very approachable and friendly and was only too happy to help is needed. Overall a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this accomodation.

A great cottage in the most idyllic of settings. We had a wonderful time.
Positive: The location was very good. The beds were comfortable, facilities were good. Negative: We were on ground floor the flat above had young children running around constantly, we were woken up for 2 mornings at 6am with the noise above. Which is not ideal on a holiday. To such an extent we didn't stay for our 3rd night. Honestly, it ruined our trip.

Positive: Clean and tidy. Basics provided which was very nice. Comfortable beds and good quality linen. Negative: Draughty front door, bottom brush missing. Shower tray did not empty quick enough liable to flood.

An excellent place to stay with a beautiful garden overlooking the river. The property has everything we needed and felt very private and peaceful. We loved going on walks to explore the surrounding areas and it was a short drive to Whitby beach. A perfect place for a relaxing gateway.

This was a perfect weekend far surpassing my expectations. Riverside was an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area and, to be honest, a destination in itself. I genuinely don't see a way it could have been improved upon. Thank you.
Perfect Retreat Positive: Location was excellent. Very rural with good access to local amenities, I.e. pub. Cake and coffee free on arrival. Spotless and lovely decor throughout. Beautiful period property. River with stepping stones at the end of the garden. Picture postcard perfect. Negative: One of the beds had blown its springs, and the toilet seat hinge kept coming loose. Probably a previous guest. Reported to management who were very nice about it.
