We had an amazing stay at the Seahouses cottage. The location is absolutely perfect, with everything right on your doorstep and so much to do nearby. It’s incredibly dog-friendly, which made the trip even better for us and our little pooch.
Even visiting in the colder time of year, it was beautiful and cosy – the evenings by the log burner were a real highlight and very much enjoyed by the dog too. There are lots of lovely walks close by, the beach is just a 2-minute walk away, and the castle is only a 10-minute drive.
Everything was perfect for our stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!

Great stay in a fabulous location. The Swan is superb and so too is the smoke house (fish heaven alert!). The beach is feet away which is brilliant for the dogs. My only very minor complaint would be that the hoover was pretty lame. However, I expect it would have been more than adequate without labs, and there was a broom.

An excellent position with easy access to all local areas. The harbour and sea are on the doorstep. Two pubs literally across the road which did worry us that it may be noisy but not at all even on New Year’s Eve we heard nothing. Everyone was so friendly we had a great time. The cottage is so cosy and the bed was very comfortable. We would definitely visit again. We totally fell in love with Seahouses.
GuestAirbnbDec 2025
Property is more spacious than expected and well maintained. It's a little draughty in places but you can counteract that with the heating. \n\nThe pub directly across the road was busy and a bit noisy (we did go the week of Xmas so might be to be expected and the noise died down around 11). \n\nWhilst we were there one heater was not working and they only left one large towel and one hand towel per adult per week, which was not ideal. \n\nOther than those bits, the property is well located and Seahouses is a nice place. It's good for dogs and it was worth the cash it was just not a 'wow' experience.

We know the area very well and have admired St Cuthberts Cottage for some time, so it was great to be able to stay here albeit for only 3 nights. Comprehensively equipped and close to all local amenities, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would not hesitate to come back if we didn’t have the rest of the family in tow!

Great place to stay. Had everything we needed and very comfortable. Really handy location close to the centre of the village and the marina. We loved being able to see the sea from the living room. Did lots of coastal walks straight from the house.

We had expected a relaxing holiday with no concerns re the accomodation
Positive: Self catering. Location good.
Negative: Problems with heating rads not working, handle on wardrobe broken, toilet seat broken, sink plug did not seal, very poor response from local rep when we asked for assistance. Overall feeling that the property had not been checked or prepared for our stay.

To date it was our worst Airbnb experience.
The property’s location in particular was dreadful, it might have a glimpse of the sea upstairs but that’s where the positives remain. There are two pubs opposite the cottage, the road is narrow so at night people were within metres of our downstairs bedroom, smoking, drinking and talking/ shouting until 1 in the morning. I had read previous reviews and they had said noise wasn’t a problem and things quietened at 11pm but that was not the case at all. With the door open to the pub, the live music was deafening.
We had to keep the windows shut which was uncomfortably hot at the time. The windows had a strange inner piece of Perspex which served little purpose.
Sadly the property was also on a busy walkway into town.
The carpets were dirty and behind my bedside table was thick with dust and spiders as were most skirting boards.
The bathroom sink was blocked and the bath leaked puddles.
We contacted Host & Stay but they offered no help at all.

Positive: The location was brilliant and perfect for what we needed it for. It was very clean and had everything we needed.
Negative: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
Lovely cottage in a great location very close to harbour and shops. Excellent pub/restaurant (Black Swan) opposite. Very comfortable & well equipped. Bonus of dedicated parking space. We found it a little difficult to find but that’s probably our fault as used car sat nav instead of link sent by Host & Stay.

Positive: Cottage was lovely clean no problems
Negative: Straight across road from a noisy pub contrary to information it’s not just at weekends it’s most nights 1-2 am

We really enjoyed our stay in your lovely property
Positive: The layout was really good. We liked Jed the lounge being upstairs with a bit of view of the sea. The location was excellent, being close to the harbour and town.

Lovely cottage nicely decorated clean yet the grill wasn’t, so I popped it in dishwasher. The foil was changed but there
Positive: Location, bed so comfortable, nicely decorated
Negative: Heating only one radiator worked in lounge having to put boiler on 30 mins before

We had a lovely stay at this beautifully presented cottage. Perfect location for exploring Seahouses and the local area, you can see the sea from the windows. Massive bonus having parking for the cottage. Opposite a pub but very quite, we were there on a busy week and there was no noise.
Only negative would be the customer service. Managed by a company, rather than private host, and when I asked for late check out, I was twice sent an automated message that late check in wasn't available. I corrected them, and stated it was check out i was looking for, and only half an hour but again I got just an automated message. Also, when we arrived at the property the map link took us to the rear, but entry and parking was at the front. When I phoned the number, the lady only read out the instructions that I had already been sent and wasnt able to provide further clarity which was hugely frustrating. A bit of improvement to make it a more personalised experience would help.

Positive: Little natural ventilation. Perfect in April but could be an issue in the summer

Convenience was a big plus-point, as it is located very close to the main harbour from which the boat trips depart, it is just a short walk into town, opposite two pubs and has its own parking spot. The house was very spacious and had everything that we needed, and was good value-for-money.It is on the Northumberland Coastal Path, and we did two linear coastal walks by taking the bus to Budle Bay (north) and to Craster Harbour (south) then walking back. (Both have pubs & castles en route, and one has the Grace Darling memorial.)Our boat trip included an hour on Inner Farne which was amazing, with puffins, razorbills etc aplenty. We also drove to Lindisfarne followed by Berwick-Upon-Tweed.Plenty to occupy us during what was a fantastic 5-night stay!
GuestAirbnbMay 2026
The cottage was exactly as advertised, with a dedicated parking space right next to the property which was really convenient. The bed and pillows were lovely and very comfortable, plus an electric blanket which was a lovely idea, and we slept really well throughout our stay.
One of the radiators in the living room wasn’t working, however there was a log fire which we used both evenings, and all logs were provided which was a nice touch. The cottage is also right next to a pub, and although we could hear some noise at times, it certainly wasn’t enough to spoil our stay or disturb our sleep.
One of the days was very wet and rainy, so we stayed in for the day. If you enjoy playing games or spending cosy evenings indoors, I’d recommend bringing a few with you as there weren’t any provided in the cottage.
Overall, the location is excellent and within easy reach of all amenities. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage in Seahouses, Northumberland. We stayed for 5 nights and the cottage had everything we needed including things like an iron and washing machine. Excellent location opposite The Black Swan inn and The Schooner inn, we only tried The Black Swan and it was lovely. The cottage is minutes walking distance from the shops with a good selection of restaurants and general places in the village centre for a mooch around. It’s perfect location for the boat tours which are literally a short walk down the hill. We kept ourselves occupied in the evenings with the TV which has Netflix etc and there’s a nice little book swap in the cottage which we thought was really sweet. Bamburgh castle is literally the next village over and Beadnell the other side which has a great restaurant called The Landing. We also found the bed and bedding in the cottage exceptionally comfy and cosy.

Had a lovely three night stay at St Cuthberts cottage. This property is in an amazing locations with the little high street a couple of minutes walk away (where there are shops and lots places to eat) and the beach is a 5 min walk. The cottage was lovely and clean, nicely decorated and the allocated parking space was a huge bonus. We felt very much at home during our stay. Communications from host and stay were excellent. Would highly recommend!

Fabulous short break
Positive: Great little cottage, located across from 2 pubs but we did not hear any noise. Good location and parking space
Negative: Comfortable warm upstairs in the living area but cold bedroom and bedroom downstairs even with heating on. It is an old cottage and it was winter and it would not stop me staying again

We were really looking forward to our stay at St. Cuthbert’s and it didn’t disappoint. A lovely cottage close to the harbour and right opposite a great restaurant (The Black Swan). Perfect location to visit the beautiful surroundings of the Northumbrian coast. The cottage had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and homely and we will definitely be returning.

We had an incredible few nights stay in this truly lovely property near the harbour in Seahouses - it was so comfortable and had everything we could possibly need for a short stay. Although it is opposite two popular pubs we were not disturbed at all by noise - a fantastic little break, much needed, thank you to host.

Super lovely place to stay. Lovely welcome with a warm fire and nice surprise gift in the kitchen. Perfect bed and facilities. Internet just wouldn’t work resulting in no TV facilities. No reponse from Host and Stay about it but it didn’t spoil a lovely break. Would definitely rebook. Thank you!!
