The lodge was lovely and the hot tub was a great addition we had a lovely time

Absolutely perfect had a really nice relaxing stay it was lovely to thave tvs in all rooms the host could not be better organised well pleased

Lovely place to stay, the area was beautiful and lots of scenery. Hottub area felt very private and peaceful. It was a great getaway weekend !

Really nice tranquil setting and lodge beautifully placed. Couple of niggles but wouldn’t stop us from visiting again. The site is beautifully maintained and JJ restaurant and bar is second to none and the staff were polite and really helpful nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting or staying over

We had a lovely stay overall however there were things that could be improved. The property didn’t feel like it had been given a thorough clean before we arrived even though check out was at 10am and check in wasn’t until 4pm. There was rubbish under the settee, dog hair, a toenail on the carpet, quite a few of the kitchen items needed washing before use, and each bedding had some staining. In the main bathroom the toilet seat and bin were broken. The hot tub was enjoyable, but when the bubbles were turned on it brought up quite a bit of debris that collected around the edges, which wasn’t very pleasant and made it seem like it could do with a deeper clean or maintenance. As, been described as a “luxury lodge”. We were also surprised to receive a message on the morning of arrival about having to choose between a non-refundable £40 damage waiver or a £250 refundable security deposit. It would have been helpful to know about this before booking as it wasn’t something we were expecting

We arrived early and were told to come back at four which is fine, we went to the restaurant on site which was lovely, went back at 4pm to check in, when we arrived there were stains on the bed sheets other than that everything else was clean. We went to the local shops to get food for the kids, when we got back I went to put our food away in the and noticed it had been switched off at the main, which resulted in our ice cream, ice lollies, melting due to how long it took the freezer to set up, the drawers were full of water. Not sure why anyone would turn this off, so best checking if you ever stay. Also, after I booked I got an email to ask for either a £40 non refundable deposit, or a £250 refundable deposit, which wasn’t noticed prior to booking. If you don’t have a spare £250 to give for a week, this would result in people having to pay £40 non refundable deposit, very disappointing for families who can’t afford. Also, the hot tub never got cleaned while we were there.

We had a fantastic week at Allerthorpe. The caravan had all your home comforts and the site is perfectly situated to explore York as well as some other beautiful places including Beverley. Pocklington is a picturesque market town on your doorstep. It was wonderful to head back to the caravan and relax in the hot tub after a day's exploring. Would highly recommend!

Lovely property in a nice location Positive: Nice and spacious although it was only my wife, me and the dog, hot tub was really nice and clean and would probs fit 4 adults easily, only 2 miles from polkington which had a Sainburys and Aldi, the pub and restaurant on site was really nice with a large beer garden, we only ate there once but the food we had was excellent, all the staff were very nice Negative: Nothing really, apart from 1 of the doors of the under sink cupboard didn’t close fully but no big dramas about that.

Me and my wife have just returned from a lovely bank holiday, beautiful lodge , very clean and tidy , hot tub great very relaxing, recommend Sunday lunch at the Melbourne Arms which is 5 minutes drive away , food onsite very nice aswell , definitely will be returning in the summer , only downside was we never stayed longer

Positive: Lovely clean, peaceful lodge Negative: We had a power cut both Friday and Saturday night which is inconvenient in an evening

Positive: Very clean, although hot tub wasnt ready as we booked very last min it didnt take long at all
