Pros: Cottage is beautifully decorated. Bathroom felt very luxurious. We appreciated the fire lighters and it was a short walk to the village store to get wood for the fire. Really snug and the heating plus log burner worked well to quickly warm the house up. Cons: There was dog hair and sand on the sofas in arrival. The house had a general doggy whiff to it. We mentioned on arrival and never heard back. Parking was limited, one or two spots left within 150m of the cottage in winter. The shared path to the cottage was narrow, unlit and uneven through the back gardens of several houses. There were 4 knives, forks and spoons. Twin bedroom is miniature. Smoke alarm in upstairs bathroom is optical. Specifically not designed for use in bathrooms. Despite this it's been installed about a meter from the shower meaning the smoke alarm goes off and woke up our kid. Didn't feel a very personal stay - 4 messages between booking and check out about accidental damage. Not the most welcoming vibe!

Great location, very comfy king size bed, the second room we didn’t use you’d struggle to get into the bed nearest the window. Well equip kitchen and very comfortable sitting room, although we visited in the winter the outside space was good for dog and would be lovely to sit out in summer. We’d recommend this Airbnb, look forward to visiting again. Very pet friendly

Beautiful cottage, really cosy and comfortable, and amazing to just walk down to the beach with the dog every morning. We also really enjoyed the proximity of great cafes, restaurants and pubs.

A very comfortable and relaxed stay and a lovely beech for the dogs , the log fire was a welcome return on a chilly wet day , listening to albums on the record player was a treat.

Absolutely beautiful cottage, clearly well thought out and excellently designed interior. Parking is not as easy as advertised. The nearest parking is on the village high street but it is a busy little tourist village and there were never any spaces in December so you'd have no chance in tourist season. Doesn't come with logs for the fire, and with a very late check-in of 4pm you have to race across the road to buy some. I'd have paid a little extra to have some logs waiting for me! Finding the alleyway was tricky, very unclear where it was in the dark. Excellent responsiveness from the letting agency. Very lovely and luxurious cottage, really well looked after, well appointed kitchen, comfy beds and the records were a treat! Would come again.

Great cottage in Alnmouth Positive: Location. Cottage interior and facilities. Negative: Small 2nd bedroom REALLY small. Difficult to move around and little storage.

Lovely stay at Sonsy cottage- so comfy and homely, plenty of space and slept so well!!! Very near to the beach and also a few lovely pubs and places to eat. Would definitely go back! Thank you!

Generally very enjoyable but would stress that this property is not suitable fo four adults. Positive: Lovely kitchen 2 decent bathrooms and lovely lounge. Negative: Advertised as a double bedroom with en-suite and second bedroom with 2 single beds. (This room was much too small only suitable for children and not adults - the photos were deceptive - Beds were so close together that you had to climb over one to get to the other and the radiator was not working so it was extremely cold. The wardrobe area was dirty and could not be used. The glasses in the kitchen suitable for drinking water/ juice were chipped on the rims and not fit for purpose. These issues could easily put right would make for a wonderful stay.

Couldn't fault anything! Communication with the host company was easy, the house was warm and clean on arrival, and there was everything you might need for a comfortable say.

A beautifully decorated and appointed cottage in the heart of Alnmouth. No parking, but we had no issue finding a space on the main street in early December - might be more problematic in high season! Be aware the 2nd bedroom is very, very small. You open the door and you fall into the bed. No room for bedside tables, lights or even suitcases on the floor. In truth this wasn't a big issue for us, but we were envious of the occupants of the main bedroom with their massive ensuite bathroom (the other bathroom is downstairs, adjacent to the living room)! Great communication with the managing agency.

Lovely cottage in a lovely place - the very centre of Alnmouth close to the sea. The only thing was that the heating in the kitchen didn't work - in November - and, despite good communication with the host, it didn't get mended the whole time we were there. Sure they'll get it fixed eventually, but...
