We had a wonderful time at this place, really enjoyed. A beautiful calm and peaceful place for staycation. It felt like home. The house is a mansion and the kids loved the pool. Will recommend to others and will try to come again to this paradise. Thank you so much Host & Stay.

Silton Hall is a beautiful country house, with ample space, great facilities, lovely warm pool, and surrounded by stunning landscapes.
This house is perfect for big family getaways, not far from major cities, and easy to access.
The house has everything you need to get started for a trip, and the hosts were very helpful with recommendations in the local area, and were super responsive.
We would highly recommend!

Just got back from a wonderful stay at Silton Hall. The house was exactly as described and very comfortable with plenty of space. The pool was lovely and warm, even for our two young children. Check In and Out was easy with clear instructions. The pictures do not show how beautiful the view from the house is. We had a lovely time staying at this wonderful property.

We had a fantastic stay with our family! The grounds were beautiful and the pool was fantastic! We will definitely be back.

Fantastic grounds for Silton Hall, had a great family weekend there.
GuestAirbnbFeb 2025
We had an amazing time staying at Silton Hall. It was a gathering of old friends, their kids and dogs and the house suited this perfectly.
Pros:
- Rooms were beautiful& clean & there was plenty of space for different families to have their own spaces and lots of loos and showers.
- garden had stunning views
- pool was bigger than we thought, and perfect temp.
- Kitchen was stocked better than expected
Cons:
- sheep loose in the garden on arrival and had three dogs with us - couldn’t make use of the great garden, in case of an incident. Property management took a while to respond and did not send anyone to help. instead, they suggested we put dogs on leads…
- heating was off on arrival and took a while to heat up. No curtains on the single glazed front door. Would recommend they put heating on for arrival and get some curtains for the doors.
- no kindling and limited fire wood which we needed as the house was so cold
- only a couple of loo rolls provided
GuestAirbnbFeb 2025
Whilst the scenery and accommodation were amazing many things let it down. The biggest disappointment was over the pool we were told it would be between 28 and 28 degrees; it was 20 degrees and would have taken a few days to reach the stated temperature- we were there from Friday evening until Sunday morning.
Basics were missing- salt and pepper, cooking oil, kitchen paper, anti-bac spray and only one roll of toilet paper per toilet! With a full house all using the one toilet downstairs it quickly became an issue.
The dream of an exciting family get together sadly didn’t happen!
GuestAirbnbJan 2025
The property was in a very isolated and
Peaceful location. The house was very individual and suited us as a family really well. Everything was clean and tidy. Tea and coffee and sugar was provided, everything else you need to bring. Plenty of towels, though we could have done with more t-towels. There was no flexibility about checking in which was a shame as it was a late check in 4pm. My only real concern was the house was freezing when we arrived. I immediately turned up the heating which was 10 degrees but it was so cold in the house that even 5 hours later it was only 14 degrees. We had to wear our coats that first night as there were no wood or coal to burn in the two fireplaces. I received no response when I enquired about where there was a wood store outside.
The kitchen was warmer because of the Aga but it was only set at the lowest setting.
So I really suggest that you request the house be preheated and take some wood for the fires.
Overall a really good stay. Pool great.

Our family had the most perfect Christmas at Silton Hall. Plenty of space for all the family to enjoy, beautiful grounds, spacious rooms and great swimming pool which was enjoyed by all of us. I had read a couple of reviews that weren’t so positive however I don’t believe them to be true. Lots of linen and bedding , and plenty of glasses, mugs and crockery for large groups. We have already started planning our trip back to Silton hall. Thank you !

I'd go somewhere else.
Positive: Beautiful grounds and great location for walks in the north Yorkshire moors.
We really enjoyed the indoor pool especially in the unpredictable Yorkshire summer weather. It was nice that the inflatables for previous guests were left, the kids enjoyed that. Beds are comfortable.
Negative: Firstly we contacted the property staff about everything below and we were gaslit and fobbed off at every turn. To the point I thought it was a bot running the account. It's not, it's just terrible staff and abismal service.
The facilities are terrible for a large group. There are no facilities for cooking. There's no big pans or oven dishes. The oven works poorly and is unreliable and is overdue for maintenance. There's not enough chairs or lounge chairs to relax in the garden. There are only four working chairs on the terrace, Two were broken. There are not enough chairs to sit together to eat. We had to bring all the chairs in from other rooms and squash them around the dining table. See picture for arrangement, very squashed. They say there's a bbq in the listing but it was nowhere to be seen, texted the staff and they said there's no bbq. We found it pushed in a cupboard as it was essential to cook for all of us in a state. Cheers it up and managed. House was grubby with stains all over cushions, throws and soft furnishing. Cobwebs and dust in all corners. All kitchen equipment was grubby and needed to be washed before use. Loads of lightbulbs were burned out.

A wonderful stay at Silton Hall - we’re already planning our next trip.
Positive: We had the most amazing stay at Silton Hall with extended family. The grounds are beautiful and felt like a real surprise when we arrived - it’s hard to capture the stunning views in just a couple of photographs. The pool was immaculate and had lots of inflatables ready for the children to use which we didn’t expect!
Northallerton is such a bustling little town and not far at all, we visited twice during our stay and also got the train to York from there. A brilliant location.
Negative: Although the kitchen had plenty of plates and glasses, other utensils needed for a big group cooking together were limited or didn’t work very well. We wanted to eat in a couple of nights and struggled to do this without buying some extra dishes to cook food in.
Upstairs is very warm - a few radiators won’t turn off and the bedroom windows wouldn’t open.
GuestAirbnbMay 2024
We had a lovely few days at Silton Hall with all our family. It is in a great location (plenty of great places to visit) and has wonderful views.
The house is spacious and the gardens are beautiful - extensive and well kept.
The pool is fantastic - even larger than expected and a great asset especially if the weather isn’t good!
We would thoroughly recommend the property.

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at Silton Hall. The house was amazing and in a stunning location. Having the private pool made the holiday extra special for the kids. The house was much bigger than it looks in the photos and the hosts were fab. We had a slight issue with a blocked drain on day 4 of our stay and I contacted the hosts within and hour they were out and had it fixed.
Would highly recommend this property
GuestAirbnbFeb 2024
Lovely family break at Silton Hall. The house was nice and clean with plenty or space for a large group. The pool area is great for kids, although it does not retain the heat very well.
GuestAirbnbJan 2024
This is a wonderful opulent property with ample space for large occasions. The swimming pool is a tremendous asset but is a tad cold for young children in the winter. I imagine it is fantastic in the warmer months.Similar to other reviews we found insufficient large pots for cooking and the Aga, although warm was well below a temperature where cooking on it was possible(think it might need a service). The heating was good and easily regulated to suit.
The Gold Cup pub is permanently closed so if the proximity of the pub is one of the reason for booking you’ll be disappointed.
The beds are comfortable and all the bedrooms are well proportioned most with appealing views. Bathrooms are pleasant functional .The house, grounds and views are breath taking even in the winter, but in warmer months I suspect your stay would be elevated to a different level entirely.

Silton Hall is a fantastic place to stay, a beautiful house with ample space, beautiful gardens and surroundings. The instructions from host & stay were perfect and they were easy to contact. The only problem was that the pool wasn’t warm enough, especially as we had young children in our group.

Great place perfect for large family gatherings
Positive: Great facilities, loads of room along with idyllic grounds with fantastic views.
Spotless throughout with fantastic attention to detail from the cleaners

We had a wonderful family weekend staying at Silton Hall. The kids had an amazing time, especially playing in the good sized warm swimming pool.
GuestAirbnbMay 2023
Excellent house. Lots of room for 3 families. Loved the pool!
GuestAirbnbApr 2023
Had a lovely stay with my large family. The pool house was a fabulous added extra. The house and grounds were beautiful.
GuestAirbnbApr 2023
Silton Hall is beautiful, the house has been renovated to a high standard and beds are really comfortable.
The gardens are fantastic, the kids loved playing out there without supervision.
The pool was brilliant, great size, lovely and clean and had everything you needed in the pool room (towels, sun loungers and some inflatables).
There was a couple of things we missed whilst we were there, a few big pots so we could cook for everyone. There are only a few small pans. And we wished we'd brought a speaker as there wasn't anything like that.
The local pub (The Gold Cup) wasn't open the day we tried to go but it looked like it should have been from the website, not sure why.
It has beautiful countryside all around the hall and has a nice walk nearby that takes about an hour so great for the kids.

Beautiful location, Silton Hall is a lovely large house, plenty of space for everyone.
Great kitchen with everything you need to host large group of people.
The house could do with a bit of maintenance but that did not affect our stay in anyway.
Very large swimming pool, beautiful gardens. Plenty of parking.

Great house. Plenty of room for all 14 of us! The pool is a fantastic addition. The open fire in the tower living room was wonderful on an evening. Would definitely book again and recommend to friends.

We had a very enjoyable stay with our group of 8 adults and 6 children. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. The pool area was fantastic, easy to access and clean. Overall, a great place for a large group. Thank you :)
GuestAirbnbSep 2025
The house was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and it was great to have the pool.
The host was very responsive and answered questions quickly during our stay.
There were just a couple of small issues to note. The kitchen was pretty poorly kitted out to host that number of guests. There were no larger serving bowls or pots, no scissors, only 10 forks (despite there being 14 guests). The pool doesn’t have any loungers anymore and there were only 5 plastics chairs instead.
We would still recommend and stay again. Thank you.
GuestAirbnbSep 2025
We had a great stay at Silton Hall . We were a party of 12 and there was so much space for us all.Bedrooms were very nice ,clean and comfortable.4 bathrooms and a downstairs w.c . The electric shower in the small shower room was a bit hit and miss, hot and cold and not very powerful and all bathrooms need a shelf to put toiletries on , other than these small niggles everything else was good.Dining room was great for a large party to all sit together. We found there to be enough pans and dishes for us , however there were not enough forks for us all , plenty of glasses and cups, plates etc.The pool was excellent and we loved it especially the kids, as the pool is in a separate building from the house , it’s was very dark getting to it at night and it could do with few lights along the path . We never sat outside as the weather was not suitable, but there was only one table and 5 chairs , as the house sleeps up to 14 people a few more outdoor chairs . We loved our stay and would return
GuestAirbnbJul 2025
All as described a lovely place to stay. Comfortable spacious bedrooms.
Lovely sitting rooms, plenty of places to sit quietly in the house and gardens for those who required a little downtime. Swimming pool was well used by us, warm and larger than expected with plenty of poolside towels available. Splendid gardens and plenty of places to run around and play ball games etc. Nine adults in our group, not one had an adverse comment and of course the children enjoyed it.
GuestAirbnbJul 2025
Lack of pans suitable for catering for 12 people, no large serving plates or salad bowls. House described as luxury. It was more comfortable. Swimming pool good.
Check in and out times strict unless you pay extra. Not had that with an Airbnb before.
GuestAirbnbJun 2025
It's a great house, perfect for large groups. Plenty of quality spaces to gather together in or to spend some quiet time.
The pool was great - larger than expected - but it was the grounds that surpassed all expectations. They're extensive and well- maintained with wonderful views.

Overall our stay at Silton Hall was amazing , the place is absolutely huge! We were a party of 12 and didn’t use half of the downstairs rooms!, the pool was fab and was a lovely temperature , the grounds are stunning and well maintained. I wouldn’t hesitate at returning , and would recommend.

Positive: Great place for a big group with lovely outdoor space too. Plenty of room and facilities were great. Good communication prior to and during stay.
Negative: Pool was very cold and there were no logs provided for the open fires
GuestAirbnbNov 2024
The grounds of Silton Hall are stunning. it's just a shame that the house itself doesn't match up to them. We had a number of issues during our stay - the main one being the pool hadn't been turned on, despite the fact I had been told it would be ready for our arrival. The kitchen is no where near well equipped enough to deal with large groups and none of the basics (salt & pepper/oil etc) were provided despite the fact this place is being advertised as luxury. The beds were uncomfortable and the bedding wasn't high end as in the description. it's a real shame as it could be a great place to stay but everything inside is cheap and the company obviously don't want to spend the money and so the luxury element doesn't exist and it felt like a real waste of money.
GuestAirbnbMar 2024
Beautiful location, impressive building and vast grounds. 14 of us plus a dog had a long weekend here and it couldn't of been more perfect. More than enough space so that we could all hang out as a group but also enjoy our own space at times. The pool was perfectly warm enough and amenities where spot on. Would happily stay again!
HarryBooking.comMar 2024
Perfect for large group
Positive: The location is fantastic, the size of the house is amazing and was great for the size of our group. There was enough space and bathrooms for 14 people without making it uncomfortable.
Negative: The house was very cold, i appreciate it is a large house but a better heating system could be used. There was mould in some of the older bathrooms with poor showers (particularly in one bathroom. There also appeared to be an infestation of lady birds in the top bedroom
GuestAirbnbJan 2024
We had a great time at Silton Hall, based on a lovely location, the use of the pool and spending time with our family. We found the rooms spacious and well laid out and the boiler room, which acted as a drying room, was a welcome addition after being outside in December and drying walking shoes and swimming costumes. The grounds are excellent and enjoyed by everyone, especially the dogs.
We were a party of 12 and if we hadn’t taken some additional cooking items, we would have found it more difficult to cater for a large group.

I planned a surprise for my boyfriend for his birthday where his friends would be there when we arrive (he thought we were staying in a glamping pod) and it was the perfect weekend. The pictures don’t do it justice how beautiful this place is. We had the best time and couldn’t stop talking about how great the place was.
The only criticism (if any) is that there was no salt and pepper and could have had more coffee, sugar and tea for the amount of people that stay.
Other than that, no faults at all and will definitely be booking again! The best weekend I have had in a long time. Also appreciated the fast replies and how seamless it was to check in and out.

We had a wonderful weekend at Silton Hall. The place is beautiful, the house is incredible and well worth every penny. Perfect for large family getaways and for groups of friends having a weekend away together. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!
HelenBooking.comAug 2024
A wonderful weekend in a gorgeous big house, despite some details.
Positive: A gorgeous house big enough for a large group to enjoy without feeling too crammed in, with spectacular grounds and a fabulous pool. We loved spending a long weekend swimming and lounging on the grass, and the living spaces were great for playing games in.
Negative: There didn’t seem to be nearly enough by way of pots and pans to cook for a group of 12 people.
Three guests, myself included, had specifically checked the listing beforehand and seen a barbecue listed under facilities, so we brought food along for one. There was no barbecue, and when a guest called up the hosts to find out why, it sounded like the customer service wasn’t great.
One of the legs on a chair at the outdoor table was bent/broken and crumpled beneath a guest who grazed and bruised her leg. A couple of the loungers in the pool also seemed to be falling apart.
I think the decor throughout could be more thoughtful (eg. mirrors and cheap pictures from IKEA put up wonky) and in keeping with the age and character of the property to give a more ‘wow’ experience inside as well as out.
GuestAirbnbJun 2024
I regret to say that our stay at this property was quite disappointing. Communication with the host was poor, with responses often being very slow or ignoring previous comments altogether. At one point, someone answered the phone saying, “Who tf is calling at this time,” which was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.
The pool was left dirty for the first two days of our stay, rendering it unusable until a housekeeper could be arranged. Additionally, many areas of the house were dusty with cobwebs, indicating a lack of proper cleaning prior to our arrival.
The kitchen was poorly stocked, missing most basic necessities like bin bags and kitchen roll, which made it inconvenient for our group. Furthermore, the bathrooms were inadequate for the number of guests, with only one toilet each for 15 people.
The one thing that was above expectations, were the grounds. The garden had plenty of space for our group and was relatively well maintained.

Myself and my friends had a fantastic time staying at Silton hall, the grounds are beautiful, it was so peaceful! The house was equipped with everything we needed and the house itself was gorgeous, we all felt like we were in saltburn!

Beautiful, stunning Easter egg hunt family gathering!
Positive: I booked this house for a family gathering. My parents live 5 minutes away but wanted somewhere big enough for everyone. It was definitely a WOW house and exceeded my expectations. The views, the location. Just breathtaking! We had some young children there and it was perfect for an Easter egg hunt and the weather was on our side. The pool was great and warm enough. The house got a little chilly but I managed to use the thermostat and soon warmed up. Towels were really nice and big and soft and plenty of them. Beds were comfy and nicely made up. I wanted to stay longer and will definitely be returning!
Negative: There’s only a couple of things, some areas were a little tired and could do with a bit of TLC. I also requested a later check out, just an hour but it wasn’t allowed as other guests were arriving and the cleaners needed to get in there at 10am. Which is fair enough. But it was quite a push to get everyone and everything out by 10am. And I later found out the cleaners weren’t going in that day. Never mind.
GuestAirbnbSep 2023
Pros: very clean, looks as pictured, beautiful gardens and scenery, lovely pool and good temp for adults/ older children, tvs and WiFi worked easily, decent toys for children to play, board games for aduts with, nice local walks
Cons: lukewarm water in the bathrooms (apart from the electric shower) pool too cold for our 15-month-old, not much to do locally other than walking, no handsoap in the toilets
Overall, we were happy and enjoyed our stay. Great if you want to spend time as a family away from it all

We loved Silton Hall, beautiful gardens, clean warm pool. There was plenty of space and amenities. Beds comfy and towels and linen good. There was 13 of us and two dogs and there was more than enough room for us all. The only disappointment was that the plates had been put away dirty by previous guests, cutlery and baking trays needed re-washed but that was the only fault.
We had a truly fantastic time.
GuestAirbnbDec 2023
A lovely spacious property. We went with 8 adults, four young children and a labrador dog, there was plenty of room and choice of nice spaces to help our long weekend work well. A few details made for a 4 rather than 5 star response - a light circuit not working in the dining room, a large en suite bathroom with no surfaces on which to put anything and a few other small niggles which we fed back. Overall however a great place to stay for a larger group.

House ok,probably much better in summer, would not book again as better options available .
Positive: Lots of Space, lovely gds, great location for thirsk and Sutton bank walking centre.
Negative: House a bit tired, downstairs toilet could not flush properly as drains could not cope, pool cold, not enough pans and kitchen ware.
Biggest gripe-chasing £500 damage deposit return , passed over to another site, took nearly a month..

Have just spent the last 4 days at Silton Hall with my family of 15.
the property was just as it was advertised, kitchen was well equipped, common areas were all big enough for my family, maybe slightly bigger sofa in the lounge for us all to watch the darts final😄
the Internet was not the best and would buffer often when both tv were been used.
sleeping arrangements had good feedback from all, with comfy beds and plenty of bathrooms.
we used the pool area which was warm and used by us all, only draw back was when walking from the house to the pool in the dark the path could have done with some artificial lighting.
we enjoyed some local walks and plenty of trails to satisfy all abilities and great to finish your walk with a pint in the local pub, the gold cup inn.
would highly recommend Silton Hall for a large family get together😃😃

Birthday stay
We were disappointed when we arrived because the house hadn’t been heated. It was 14 degrees and we had to spend the evening in the kitchen with our coats on to keep warm.
It wasn’t obvious how to change the heating so it reached 16 degrees maximum and was absolutely freezing at night. We have a 3 month old baby so I spent the night worrying he was too cold.
The next day my husband did manage to fix the heating only to find out the pool wasn’t heated much to the kids disappointment.
The cooking facilities were also poor for big parties with very few big pans etc.
Overall I felt our short stay was tainted by these things and it wasn’t worth the money. It’s such a shame as it looked great on the listing!
I was thinking about asking for a partial refund as it almost ruined my 40th and my sisters 50th celebration.
For future stays I suggest the cleaners make sure the heating is on as it will be bitter in the winter for people and you will get more bad reviews

Positive: This is an amazing property set on beautiful grounds we travelled as a large family and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax in the stunning house.
Negative: Unfortunately when we arrived one of the bedrooms had several ladybird nests in it meaning the couple that had chosen that room slept on the sofa in the living room for the entire stay due to poor communication and a slow response from Host and Stay.
We left with this matter still in dispute and after 10 long weeks of several emails and telephone calls we eventually received a small refund. Although for the most part we had a lovely stay the customer service after leaving was horrendous and would put me off booking any properties managed by Host and Stay in the future.

Stunning property in a great location for our family trip
Positive: Silton Hall was a great location for our family get together for a 70th birthday. It had plenty of space and everything we needed for a weekend away with a group of all different ages. We loved the swimming pool which was clean and warm, and the kitchen and dining area was big enough and fully equipped for us all to cook and eat together which was ideal. Due to the age of the property there was the odd creaky floorboard or imperfections but this added to the character of the property and is expected. Would highly recommend!
Negative: Nothing-the property was as expected and perfect for our weekend together as a family.

Overall a good stay with some positives, but more negatives. All listed below.
Positives
Great location, plenty of space, grounds well maintained, private, good sized pool, multiple living areas were great, outdoor seating area was good, good bathrooms with good shower pressure.
Negatives
Flies throughout house. Spiders / Cobwebs and musty smell, house was not clean. Stained carpets. Not sure where refurbishment has been completed. Do not agree on luxury status. Poor lighting in living areas, kitchen and bedrooms, needs immediate improvement. Kitchen equipment requires deep clean. Ceiling in front room peeling off and section missing in smallest living area.
Pool showed loungers none there. Flies, hair and dirt floating in pool. Needs net to allow guest to maintain. Outdoor seating area needs to be bigger.

We had a very good week-end in Silton Hall. The house was perfect for our large family group - spacious, comfortable, clean and in good condition. The swimming-pool was warm and there was always lots of hot water for washing-up and showers. Excellent.

Its a beautiful house/manor. We really did love our stay and we all had one of the best weekends ever there for my sister's Hen Do. However we did find the pool looking a light shade of green and there were bugs in it and no net available to fish them out. We also found a bad leak in the smaller living room as well as a broken toilet seat upstairs in one of the bathrooms. The floors were pretty grimy, I don't think they've been mopped for a while as all our feet were coming out black by the time we went to bed on the first day. There was also a strange damp smell from a couple of the rooms. The bin situation was very confusing. We did the best we could and seperated some things but I'm not convinced we did it right. There were instructions to put all glass in a wheely bin that wasn't the big biffa bin. However, there wasn't a wheely bin in sight. So we left them all in a plastic box that was provided for rubbish. We also found some dirty crockery upon arrival, a couple of mugs and a bowl. The house however is beautiful, had a very rustic charm and the views are impeccable. You can see over a farm and the national park. The photos in the listing don't do it justice. There's also a lovely table and chairs outside for eating which isn't photographed but should be, that we used a few times. Overall, a lovely stay but definitely in need of a little more TLC.
GuestAirbnbJul 2026
Silton Hall had absolutely everything we needed for a great week away with friends. The pool was fab and kept the kids happy throughout the week and the garden was incredible. The house was spacious and clean and the bedrooms were all great sizes. I would definitely recommend it to people looking for a getaway.
GuestAirbnbJun 2026
POOL NOT USEABLE DUE TO TEMPERATURE!! We stayed in this property during a hot few days in May and the pool was 23 degrees, should be around 30 degrees. When calling 'Host & Stay' they are slow to answer the telephone, they know nothing of the property you are in. They will do nothing to get the pool to a better temperature. This has been reported by multiple people.
The property overall is poorly maintained and quite tatty, there was a swarm of bees which had nested in a wall of the tower which made two rooms unusable. We were told by Home & Stay that there would be no cot but there were 2 in a cupboard. Clean beds but lots of dust on walls, blinds and fittings. Dirty walls. Holes in walls, water damage marks on furniture, lots of mould.
Overall impression was more of a student let than a luxury stay.

A beautiful stay here, by the far the most grand place I’ve ever stayed in. For 8 adults and 6 kids it was perfect, the grounds were amazing it felt like we had our own private park. The views were beautiful and the house was wonderfully decorated, all the rooms and bathrooms had everything we needed for a short stay. The location is excellent with it being only a short drive to Thirsk and Northallerton so there’s plenty to do on a day trip. My only wish is that there was some nice patio furniture or sofas outside as there was only one sitting area out the back which was just a table and chairs, a proper sofa area would’ve been tip top. A fantastic and enjoyable stay

We had a lovely weekend here at Silton Hall.
The grounds are stunning and perfect for our dogs. The pool was lovely but very cold - not sure if we just struggled with the heater or if we were just a bit unlucky with the sun not being out to heat it through the glass, but it was still such a great extra we used a lot!
All rooms were a decent size, including the living rooms, dining room and huge kitchen. There was a lot of lady birds inside the house especially around the door frames and windows but it didn’t bother us too much.
The accommodation was a 15 minute drive from Cod Beck Reservoir which was a really beautiful walk. The Gold Cup Inn is a five minute walk max from the property and is a community run pub. We went for their Indian street food pop up and coffee van which were lovely to have so close by. Staff there were really welcoming.
Would definitely recommend this property for a group holiday ☺️

The house is great, but severely disapponted with the heating situation. Even though i was informed maintenance staff wo
Positive: Lovely rooms, large and huge gardens. Outdoor was great
Negative: There was no upstairs heating, which in sub zero temperatures was absolutely shocking.

Silton hall is found in a great location in rural countryside but a village feel . The house is in need of some little attention in areas for the price you are paying per night for example rusty toilet roll holder and very old baking trays. Photo of pool we felt was not accurate as shown as there were no pool loungers as shown in photos in air BnB sadly which would have been ideal for relaxing and recuperation

A lovely house in beautiful grounds surrounded by countryside.
The house is very spacious. Very secure and private. Heating was great and kept us cosy. The gardens & pool are brilliant.
The gardens are well maintained. There is a little patio area with a table & a few wooden chairs but it would have been great to have some other outdoor furniture you can move (but this is just a wish and not a criticism) . The kitchen was well stocked for cutlery & kitchen equipment and plenty of coffee pods & tea bags.
Would we stay again? Yes we would but I would like to see the following improvements:
1. The walls to be washed down or repainted as they were a bit grubby.
2. Washing up liquid & brush.
3. Better toiletries - they were a little sad & sparse.
4. Hand soap in kitchen .
5. Host and stay to ensure the damage deposit information is correct! Advertised as £250 but wanted to charge £500. We did have a bit of a battle about this!
Recommend the Dog & Gun pub for food. Very, very good!

Silton Hall itself is absolutely beautiful, a great place to get away for the weekend. The surroundings are beautiful, and the property is so large, both internally and the grounds, that, if well prepared, you really don't need to leave.
We enjoyed breaking up our stay with a trip to the pub in the village which was very welcoming.
The only issue we had, was that the online guide didn't work on the first day which meant we couldn't use the swimming pool, and when we asked for help there was no resolution, which meant we couldn't do what we'd planned on our first day. Luckily the online guide started working the next day, but it was somewhat frustrating.
All in all, the property was exactly what we wanted and I think anyone would struggle to have a bad time, the pool issue was annoying as we couldn't get through to anyone to resolve it.

I absolutely loved staying here, the only issue was the heating was on and it was 22 degrees and sunny so upstairs was extremely hot. My friend burnt her leg in the middle of the night on the radiator as it was next to the bed. When asked where the thermostat was, we received an automatic response which wasn’t helpful. I would take bits like extra dishwasher tablets/bin bags/tin foil/toilet as there wasn’t many provided

Fantastic property, amazing pool, bedrooms very spacious and lovely living area. The kitchen is really well laid out with plenty of fridge/freezer space however it lacks cooking pots, sharp knives, serving dishes etc. the grounds are really well kept and location is great for walks etc.

A beautiful building in fabulous surroundings for a peaceful weekend away. It was a shame the village pub was closed but we had a great Sunday lunch at the dog and gun in Knayton which was only 10 mins away. The pool is a great facility and the hosts were very responsive in any contact. Will certainly visit again.

Nice place but issues
The property itself was fine, except the listing did not list some very important things
number one none of the windows could open they seem to be sealed shut with paint or someone nailed or screwed shut so we were not able to open any windows. This is a major problem because it was too hot, especially in the bedrooms upstairs and secondly we need fresh air and the house smells of paint. We would not have picked this property if We knew the windows would not open.
Number two we picked this because in the listing it said you could walk to the pub just a few minutes away. However, that pub has been closed completely for well over a year so this was very very misleading would not have gone there, I don’
Communication between the Hostandstay and S was very slow and I’m not always helpful
We were also told when asked that some of the food delivery apps such as Deliveroo did deliver to this property, well, they did not
The Sun lounges in the pool quite a few of them had staple sticking directly up with a sharp point upwards which is dangerous
The main bedroom ceiling started leaking on us when we were asleep in the middle of the week there
It seems to be that this problem has been there for awhile because of the marks on the ceiling which were there since we arrived. We had to sleep in the bedroom directly above the aga so it was very hot and Ellis, see above regarding Windows not openable. We were not offered anything for the inconvenience or hassle

Had a really fantastic stay at Silton Hall! Hosts were super responsive and helpful dealing with all my requests. Would recommend for a short stay weekend away, will be back!
