Good base Positive: Great location and a huge space! So much room for our group and well thought out rooms. A few niggles but overall a really good base for the weekend. Helpful staff. Negative: The windows didn't open downstairs which was stuffy on a hot day. The ones upstairs I struggled to close. Although it was generally clean it felt like a deep clean was needed. Granted it's a massive space so some things will be missed. It's a little more run down than the photos which I suppose is inevitable for a rental unit.

A lovely hidden gem Positive: Booked this very last minute when our previous booking cancelled with two days notice. Could not be more pleased with our find. It was the perfect location, a very short walk to the sea and lots of local shops, bars and clubs nearby. The house was so spacious, a fantastic living area and huge kitchen. So much space for our group, and spread out over 4 floors we never felt like we were on each others' toes. Communication was amazing, so quick to respond and nothing but helpful. This place really made our weekend special. Thank you!

Extremely upsetting, disappointing and shocking, Host and Stay's customer service was appalling. Positive: Very little! The space was good though. Negative: The place was dirty, dusty, grimy and shabby. It is difficult to say how upsetting and disgusted we all were with the accommodation. Even my 4 young grandchildren didn't want to stay there!

We have a very great time in this house.Was all worth it.🤗 Positive: The poerty was huge and very well organised Negative: We was with small kids and only the stairs was a bit problem for us.

I arrived at Dales an hour after the check in time it was filthy, food and trash strewn about, no clean linens, dirty dishes, people's clothing. When I reached out for help from Host and Stay/Dale I was told that they could not clean the property that night. Would I be willing to stay the night and maybe they could clean it tomorrow? It was so bad I couldn't sleep in that. Host and Stay said they would find me somewhere else to stay. Instead Host and Stay/Dale cancelled my booking. Airbnb tried to find me something else, but it was New Years and not a lot was available. I ended up in a hotel for one night that cost me more than a week at Dales, but when you're stranded what do you do? Airbnb was able to help me into a different property the next day. Overall it was disappointing to arrive at a filthy property, but the lack of responsibility was abhorrent.

Excellent size house for size of our group of 10 - more than enough space to accomodate more. Great location, one street behind sea front and an easy walk to the main bars and restaurants. Beds were comfortable, sheets were clean, towels and shower gel/soap, and kitchen items all supplied clean. Good internet. Host comms were perfect! The only draw backs were that there was a noticeable damp smell througout the property which lasted for our duration (like a musky cave), and that some of the areas weren't properly clean (noticable dust). Property could do with an overhaul as its evident decor is dated and damaged (peeling away wall paper, dents/breaks in furniture, mould in bathrooms). The only reason I would comment on this is due to the damages policy - if something was made worse by a guest, you would be liable to pay for the damage. Overall, the house is of a decent size, has everything you need, great location and the rest can be overlooked if you're having a good time!

The place worked for us. Convenient location to the beach and other places in Brighton. Busy area which made for some noise with windows open, but overall good experience.

Absolutely awful Negative: Unsafe Property and Poor Customer Service Our birthday weekend at Sillwood Street was completely ruined by a series of issues. The property was poorly maintained, with mould, damp smells, dirty bins containing old food, a filthy oven, a broken shower, a faulty bathroom door, and damaged furniture. The most serious issue was the front door lock failing on Saturday morning, leaving us trapped inside the property for most of the day with no alternative escape route, as the downstairs windows were locked and no keys had been provided. Despite reporting this immediately at 9.15am, it took until around 6pm for the issue to be fully resolved, causing us to miss a pre-booked event and spend the day waiting for assistance. What was most disappointing was the lack of urgency shown by both the owner and management company, both during the incident and afterwards. Our formal complaint requesting a refund and compensation has been largely ignored, demonstrating a complete lack of care for guests and the seriousness of the safety concerns raised. We would not recommend this property

Upon arrival, it took us an hour to get in as we were given the wrong code for the digital door code. The place is massive, really good for a large group of people. I wouldn’t want to stay longer than a weekend, the kitchen utensils were dirty and stained. The tiny bin was left full of rubbish. The blinds in the rooms upstairs were so dusty. Stains in the bath on top floor. Black mould on the second floor walk in shower. The place does need touching up. What air bnb doesn’t provide an actual bin?, instead little ones which were useless. We had to get black bin bags for our rubbish. The positives: beds were very comfy, the place is central and close to shops and restaurants, not far from the pier either. There was spare towels and bedding. But no shampoo provided as shown in photos.

Do not book, customer service left us with a broken front door for the stay Positive: Location was decent Negative: Customer service was horrendous, we had a broken front door for over 24 hours and were forced to leave the door open and ajar overnight to avoid being locked in.

Good but the property needs proper cleaning. Positive: Spacious living room and kitchen. Negative: Hi, We were very disappointed with the condition of the property during our stay. No one came to clean yesterday, and the room remained untidy throughout. The check-out time communication was also confusing. We had received an earlier message advising that we could leave the property by 11:00, so we planned our activities accordingly. Although the house itself is lovely, the overall cleanliness fell well below expectation. Some of the blankets and towels were visibly dusty and marked with dirt, and there was a significant amount of dust under the beds, furniture, and rugs. The mould in the shower room was also very evident, which meant we were unable to use it. Given these issues, I would strongly recommend that proper checks are carried out before future guests arrive to ensure the property is clean, safe, and ready for use. Kind Regards, Elvira and co

Nice and spacious in a great location, with everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay. The place was mostly clean; however, the carpets could really do with a deep clean, as they made the space feel a bit less fresh than it actually was.

Could have been better Positive: Comfortable bed and clean linen. Heating and hot water efficient. Negative: Was mouldy on window frames from condensation. Fridge door jam had mildew. Carpets badly worn out. Grout in bathrooms mouldy.

Filthy, and detrimental to health, refund after chasing for 2 months Positive: It was large with lots of room for guest Negative: Absolutely filthy, I reported this to the agency. Unfortunately because it’s an agency they don’t have the ability to check the cleaning. My calls and emails weren’t answered in the time I needed to rectify the issues. Fortunately, I took a huge amount of photos and videos as evidence, but it took 2 months and a bank dispute to get a part refund. The cleaners hadn’t washed the floors in week, faeces in the toilet and brush, dust on everything we touched, grime on all surfaces, door handles and fridges. The list is too long. The agent who deal with my concerns handled it very well, but due to too many teams requiring good communication, the whole system they have failed. Tragically. I’m certain that after my exposure they would have cleaned up, but check it all properly so you don’t suffer too.

Location fab but needs to address ventilation and cleanliness issues Positive: Spacious and the location was fab. The kitchen would be good for entertaining Negative: Some of the kitchen equipment had not been cleaned and there were only four cups ! I contacted Charlie but nothing was done! It was a property with little ventilation or windows that open or indeed windows at all and therefore some areas had a musty smell and I did ask Charlie for a fan as it was hot in the property. There are many stairs so be warned . It would not suit the elderly or anyone with mobility issues. The shower access was via a very high bath, again not suitable for the elderly or infirm. There was evidence of behind cupboards and beds having not been cleaned properly but linen was clean. There is no outside area to chill and needs some decor tlc .

Positive: We had such a wonderful experience at Host & Stay – Sillwood Seafront. The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The seafront location was absolutely perfect — we loved waking up to the sound of the waves and being just steps away from the beach. Check-in was smooth and easy, and the Host & Stay team were friendly, responsive, and made us feel so welcome. We especially appreciated the customer service the comfortable beds are confrtable It truly felt like a home away from home, and we enjoyed every moment. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway by the sea. Thank you for making our stay so special! Great location but some caveats—good for younger groups Positive: We stayed here for three days and overall had a good time. The location is excellent—very close to the seaside and the high street, which made it easy to explore Brighton on foot. Negative: Amenities were sufficient for our needs. However, the cleanliness could be improved, as some of the bed sheets seemed like they might not have been freshly washed (they had an odd smell). Also worth noting: there are quite a few stairs. The kitchen/dining area is in the basement, with a flight of stairs to the living area, and more stairs to reach the bedrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. I wouldn’t recommend it for families with young children, elderly guests, or anyone with mobility issues. It’s better suited to a younger crowd who won’t mind the layout. Lastly, the neighbourhood is fairly noisy at night—even on weekdays. It’s Brighton, so maybe that’s to be expected, but light sleepers should be aware.

Plenty of space and amenities for all we required. Easy to check-in and close enough to walk to the sea front and centre of town. Responded quickly to questions on the app.
