Thank you for a wonderful stay. The apartment was beautiful, in the perfect location and fantastic accessibility for my disabled mum.

Whitby is always enjoyable. Perfect location in many ways, but note prohibition of mobility scooter Negative: Why did you say you didnt allow mobility scooters in the building? This spoilt our holiday. If we had known before, perhaps there was a small space in the covered parking area that we could use. I would appreciate some feedback on this. We have visited your apartments twice now but this would stop us returning. Also difficult when you first arrive after a long drive to easily work the television. Clear instructions would be helpful . Also wifi password needs to be clearer, easy to misread - again difficult after a long drive.

Perfect place to stay while visiting Whitby. Delightful to watch the seabirds, and tides. Peaceful and calm. Super tidy yet cosy and quiet. Easy to walk to town, the beach and abbey. Ideal to explore the local area of North Yorkshire National Park.

Wonderful Whitby Weekend Positive: Great view over the harbour area, had everything we needed for the weekend. Lots of wildlife to watch out of the Juliette balcony. Negative: Some information about checking out was confusing. We left at 10am according to Booking.com info and the Host & Stay info said 12pm. Didn't like the self closing doors. They banged if you let them go. Softer close would be better. Walls are a bit thin. You can hear people in the adjoining apartment.

Excellent apartment in an excellent location. Very clean and tidy and good value for money compared to others in the area. We booked through Airbnb but another agency was involved (Host & Stay) with one stating checkout was 10am and the other stating 12pm. Thankfully we were almost ready to leave when the cleaner knocked on the door at exactly 10am. It was just a little rushed for 10 mins whilst the cleaner waited.

It's obvious that the owners of Shipwrights Eskape have gone to a lot of trouble to make the apartment and warm and welcoming place for visitors. It's in a great location, close to the centre of town and makes a great base for exploring Whitby & North Yorkshire. It's well appointed as a whole; but if you were staying for any length of time, there might be a couple of niggles that might start to annoy you. As a bloke, I tend to ignore instruction books, but there are none for any of the appliances in the kitchen. That became a massive oversight when trying to use the main oven. The oven definitely needs some maintenance or replacing as I discovered when after an hour and a half's operation the oven was barely warm and certainly nowhere near the 200º needed to cook my newly purchased gourmet feast. A bigger waste bin would be useful too. Other slight issues are the underpowered shower and a tired looking toilet seat in the bathroom. Hope they sort all these before my next visit!

This is a lovely apartment in a great location, we reckon sn essy fifteen minute's walk into town. Wery well appointed and comfortable, there were teo of us but would easily acomodate four We did feel however that t bathroom needed some attention the heated towel rail didn't work and the cistern sd sometimes intermittent in filling up after a flush. The little unit was also a bit rickety, this room not up to the standard of the rest of the flat. Having said that we wouldn't hesitate in visiting again, we had a lovely stay in Whitby.

Lovely apartment, well located for seeing the town. Positive: Lovely apartment, well located with great views. Clean and comfortable. The artwork on the walls was beautiful. Negative: Disappointing that the twin was set up as a double which meant the kids had to share a bed on the first night. Swiftly rectified on day 2 though and the staff member on duty on day 1 was as helpful as possible.

Very enjoyable stay. Would definitely return. Positive: Nice location away from the crowds overlooking the river and wading birds. Leisurely walk into town. Negative: Having stayed in Booking .com and Host and stay properties quite a few times a year, we had to buy certain kitchen items which usually are provided. Oven gloves, kitchen hand towel, kitchen roll, microfibre cloths, salt and pepper cellars, kitchen tongs, Tupperware container for cheeses/bacon and no icecube tray in the freezer.

Relaxing and beautiful Positive: Very comfortable and amazing view of the river from the open doors of the apartment. Located very near all activities Negative: I would like a TV in my bedroom but that’s just my preference

Amazing apartment, needs more attention paying when cleaning is done. Positive: Amazing location and great views. Negative: Bathroom needs a deep clean and floors were dirty throughout.

Everything was clean and tidy and the beds were really comfortable. Negative: Blackout linings to the curtains would have been better - the rooms get light very early (it was a June visit). This was the perfect place to stay for our five nights in Whitby. It's an easy place to find with a parking space right outside the door. The apartment is bright and spacious, very well equipped, and has great amenities. It is just a 15 minutes walk from the harbour and town where there are good restaurants, and there is ready access to the Coastal Footpath and the Cinder Track which goes all the way to Scarborough. Highly recommended.

A very quiet and comfortable flat. We especially loved the view from the Juliet balcony.

Spacious apartment with lovely views of the river. Great to have a parking space outside and not far to walk to town. Nice extra touches such as board games and tea/ coffee/ milk on arrival. Had difficulty making sure there was enough hot water during our stay and didn't realise we had to turn it on when we arrived as that wasn't included in welcome information. Could have been cleaner - the kitchen wasn't very clean and there was dust on all light fittings and skirting boards. Overall, nice break and would recommend to others.

We had a lovely stay at Shipwright's Escape in Whitby. The apartment was great with a beautiful view. Only a short walk into the main part of Whitby to enjoy everything on offer. The app with local information was brilliant touch. We visited some nearby beauty spots too. Would definitely recommend staying here. The host was brilliant, very quick to respond to any questions and kept us fully informed of check-in and check-out processes etc. Thanks for a great stay!

This was the second time we've stayed in this apartment, it's very well presented and comfortable. The location is perfect, an easy stroll into town, from the lounge window there are lovely views over the river Esk, and the designated parking space is right atbthe front door, all in all highly recommended.

Really happy with the apartment, hosts extremely helpful, apartment had everything you would need for a long or short stay. You could see a lot of thought had gone into what was in the apartment from utensils to hairdryer.

We have just had a lovely stay at Shipwrights Eskape. It’s a fantastic property really well located with a short flat walk into the centre of Whitby. The apartment is well furnished and equipped and was spotlessly clean. The parking space and lift are a bonus. Would stay here again and would recommend.

Positive: The view. Bed was ok. Negative: Rubbish strewn on the floor, apartment smelled of burgers. Crumbs on both sofas and underneath sofas. Self closing doors slammed shut and were difficult to open and other flats slamming doors could be heard easily. Tables had finger prints and greasy marks all over them. Had to go and buy cleaning sprays etc to clean it. Car park crazy system for numbering spaces. Don't expect no 6 to be alongside 4 and 5. No instructions for oven.Host and stay need to improve their housekeeping because it definitely spoiled our holiday.

Positive: Location. Negative: Dust throughout - you could write name in dust on lamps in bedrooms, in dressing table drawer, wardrobe drawers and bedside drawers. All skirting boards thick with dust. Cobweb on kitchen light over sink. Hairs and dust plus pieces of paper / cellophane found on various areas on floors throughout and chair in riverside bedroom also thick with dust towards back of seat cushion, with hairs. Side tables thick with dust. Chairs and dining table had crumbs and smudges and needed wiping down. Marks in  walls in various places, from scuff marks to food stains. Stain and hair on bed sheet on riverside room. Headboard full of dust along grooves. Various dirt spot on various pillow covers. No dressing table facilities in back bedroom. No instructions for appliances. Attention should be brought in the pack to hot water notices in the cleaning cupboard in hall as guests need to know to switch hot water on in there as soon as they arrive. Microwave dirty with splashed food. Icebox needed cleaning and defrosting. Top edge of fridge door broken off. Bathroom tiles dirty in various places as was bathroom paintwork and shower smelt foisty. Grouting in shower needed cleaning and refreshing. Black mildew in several places. One of the 3 riverside bedroom windows doesn't open. Clock in lounge not work. Stool between bathroom and riverside bedroom door marked with paint and top lifts off & lower part thick with dust. Samsung channel changer right, down and enter buttons not work. Which are needed when altering audio settings on TV if hearing appliances required by guests. Had to buy one at Argos at Sainsbury's. Had to bring own DVD / CD player. Needs making clear in property information that there isnt one. Clearer instructions for key box needed as different to most eg to press button at bottom to clear previous attempts, put in number and at that point press top button down. Property Info says no lift but there is one.

Lovely flat in a great location for walking into Whitby. Nice view and quiet location. Watching the tide come in and out was a nice bonus! Well furnished and comfortable.

this apartment is in the perfect location. overlooking the River and whitby. The private parking space is a God send. you can easily walk into whitby if you don't want to use the car. The apartment is clean and has everything required for a holiday. Very comfortable private and quiet.

Perfect for a peaceful break with easy access to the town for when you want to go there. Lift was a blessing and flat was a delight . Excellent.

Had a nice few days at Shipwright’s Eskape. Apartment was comfortable and a 10 min walk from the middle of Whitby. Dale and the team were very responsive and answered any questions I had within minutes. Would happily stay there again.

Positive: Appalling didn't stay..complained and got re-located Negative: Filthy,big dead meat flies on bedding.. dirty nappy in bedroom bin. Not cleaned...totally scruffy made our skin crawl.....building like a drug den quite eerie.....very up-setting

The apartment was very nice, however a few issues we reported were not resolved. One hand towel and one toilet roll for 3 guests for a 4 night stay! Grimy grouting in the shower. Minimal crockery and 2 wine glasses. Not sure why you provide coffee pods if there is no coffee machine. A few Christmas decorations would have been a nice touch

Apart from key and parking details being late the place was excellent. Negative: Not received details on code for obtaining key and where to park, had to ring day before we went?

Lovely apartment and brilliant location. Just far enough away from the centre to enjoy the peace and quiet of the location but within walking distance to all amenities. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation.

I’d be happy to stay there again. Positive: Lovely location just out of town and so it was quiet. Beautiful location on the river. The property was clean and comfortable. Negative: The only thing I’d mention was that the shower was quite slippery and could have done with a non-slip mat. A spare toilet roll would have been useful, too!

Positive: The location and communication from the owners. It's everything you need for a short stay in Whitby. Negative: Spring loaded doors were annoying and no blinds in one of the bedrooms which is annoying this time of year. Small probs but worth noting.

Excellent flat, in a great position, with its own parking spot. Some people have commented on the bathroom and hot water, but I think they must have been completely renewed. It's all excellent. The only reason for 4 stars was a slight lingering smell of stale cooking oil in the kitchen/lounge and a few bits of cleaning overlooked. Otherwise, it was perfect. 😄 Note that the listing did advertise a washing machine and dryer under facilities. However, there aren't any laundry facilities. I think the listing has now been corrected.

Pleasant clean apartment, but.... Positive: Comfortable sitting area. Comfortable bed Well equipped kitchen Negative: Hot water availibilty. Boost system not explained fully and hidden in airing cupboard. Hot water not on for arrival. This is not hot water on demand as stated. No instruction folder. Leaving time in online info stated 12.00 told 10.00 by text an hour before 10.00. Not good enough unprofessional.

Great place, pleasant walk into the centre of Whitby Would certainly use again

First 12 hours VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Negative: The apartment was freezing on arrival -2 cent outside matched by a similar temperature inside. Has to put 3 duvets on the bed on the first night. NO HOT WATER even using over-ride for the first 12 hours so unable to take a hot bath not even a luke warm one. Once we got over the initial shock we really enjoyed the apartment. *** Would we stay here again during the winter months, certainly not unless the owners bit the bullet and pre heated the property both the rooms and the water***. Would we stay during the summer months without doubt. Just a little forethought would have made all the difference.

Very enjoyable. Positive: Good location within walking distance to the town. Pleasant outlook over the river and moorings towards town. Spacious, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and sitting area. Negative: We managed with the cooker, heating and tv but would have like some instructions on how to use them correctly. They are very different from the appliances that we have at home and step by step instructions would help many guests.

Positive: The apartment ,the location ,the price, the views Negative: There was a towel left for us on entering that had brown marks on it, it looked dirty ? There was an oven to use in the kitchen but no oven gloves so I had to use a towel to get the tray out of the oven, or is that what happened to the towel that was left for us after the previous occupants?

Positive: It is a lovely modern apartment with all necessary facilities and designated onsite parking. It was clean and well presented. The apartment also has a wonderful view of the harbour through the double opened bay windows/doors.

Great stay, was good to know you had a comfortable place to rest at the end of the day. Positive: Access was made easy with information sent through email. Rooms were clean and expansive, kitchen well equipped. Beds were comfortable and both bedrooms had walk in wardrobes. Louie area was very comfortable. Really great apartment, would happily book again. Negative: Nothing not to like.

Whitby is a special place and the location helped us make the most of our stay. Positive: views and location Negative: cleanliness NOT acceptable dust under furniture and dirty toilet in bathroom!
