Positive: Great location. Spacious, bright & clean. High quality kitchen. Very close to the beach & Whitby centre only a short walk but there are plenty of steps. Perfect for walking our dogs on the beach. When we stayed it was not busy & the apartment was peaceful. Everything we might have needed was there. No issues. Highly recommended.

The property is well situated with parking, easy access, well equipped for all requirements and value for money. Attenti Positive: The property was well equipped, warm, internet access, lovely view and very well situated for what we required. The value was good and parking was adequate at the time we attended. Access instruction were clear and precise. Negative: The sofa/bed in the lounge was uncomfortable and the double bed mattress, in our opinion, requires replacing.

Value for money, lovely view, needs some home comforts, Positive: The location to all attractions was perfect and the sea view was beautiful Negative: It was quite uncomfortable, we were exhausted on one night and returned after a full day to relax. The settee was like sitting on wooden boards, extremely uncomfortable.

Lovely! Positive: Lovely, clean and well presented. Everything was immaculate. Negative: Only small issue was the bottom only the bath gets VERY slippy and one of the other families staying took the main front door key so we have a little trouble getting it but we sorted it in the end.

Immaculate and modern flat. One of the most expensive we looked at, but worth it for us, due to the sea view, plus proximity to West Cliff prom, dog walks, coffee outlet opposite, and paths down into town centre. ‘Host n Stay’ are rather prolific with messages, but that’s maybe better than too few! In a quiet November slot, we always found a parking spot within 80m, but in summer or events maybe harder! Whitby is rather upgraded from trips in our early days, and even dealt with the coeliac in our party! (Eg Magpie Fish n Chips, plus we found 4 real ale bars!)

Great location and lovely view of the seafront. Bed super comfortable. Lots of space for the both of us. Clean and tidy. WiFi info needs updating in booklet, but easy to find the password on the hub box.

Apartment is in a great location & generally well maintained. Unfortunately, I had some issues during my stay which marred the stay. The bedroom layout was changed after we had booked, from just a king-size bed to a double bed + a single bed. We were assured prior to going that there was still plenty of space for our baby’s crib. Upon arrival, we found this wasn’t the case and had to move the single bed to make space, leaving little floor space. Also, electrical sockets are still set up for the king-size so now located behind bed and not easily accessible. The listing advised a “scratch card” parking permit. This wasn’t there. We were told this would be sorted immediately but nothing done. Once we had left, we were refunded our parking fees but doesn’t take from the fact we had to sort this while away, also having to return to the car to renew tickets etc. We received no apologies for any issues - almost felt as though they were deliberately avoiding so not admitting fault

Birthday break away Was a lovely place to stay, had everything you need, great location looking out at the sea, would definitely like to return.

Very clean, comfortable apartment looking out to the sea. Took us a few minutes for us to find it on arrival, but in a fab location well within walking distance of pubs, restaurants etc. Would definitely recommend

Good location and pleasant accommodation. Positive: Good cliff top location and ease of parking. The accommodation was clean and functional and well equipped.

Building was leaking badly, water pouring in above the bay window for hours when it was raining, was told sorry but they Positive: Its view Negative: We were outside for an hour not being allowed in as they repeatedly said I hadn't paid for early check in which we had .. in the end we had to provide proof to them with evidence of us paying!

Beautiful apartment, peaceful and one of the best views in Whitby. Positive: The property was very clean and very spacious. The apartment had a very modern feel about it. The bed was very comfortable and for a apartment in a block it was very peaceful. The view was right out on to the sea front so absolutely perfect to sit by the big windows watching the sea. We were surprised how easy it was to get parked up, we ended up parking right outside our apartment but, be warned that the parking permits provided are only for W zones, we found that a few people got parking tickets for using the wrong zones. All in all we had an amazing stay and will definitely return.

Lovely location/view apartment if you're ok with smoking under your view window & minimal security Positive: Location location location. Inside it's a lovely apartment with a great view if you're ok with people smoking under your front window (when it's hot and you need the window open) and constatntly leaving the street door unlocked or open, and you don't need the advertised oven to actually work. Negative: Oven didn't work which ruined our plans for a self-catering holiday - especially as we brough a special dinner with us to cook, on the first day we went without, on the second day we had to eat out which upped our costs and changed our plans. This flat is right by the entrance and other smoking people staying in the building all come out and smoke right by the the steps, right under the window for this flat - when we arrived it was so stuffy hot so we opened the front windows but soon after had to close again because of the tobacco smoke wafting in - OK if you're a smoker. When we arrived with a code for the front door and another code for the internal door, the main front door onto the street was open. There was also a hand-written sign stuck to the inside of the front door saying (paraphrasing): "do not lock the front door as there is no key in the front lockbox (there was a key) and other guests won't be able to access....etc etc....." So for half a day I wrestled with this then took the sign down and locked the front door. Guess what, it was left wide open again next day.

Overall really enjoyable, and fabulous location. Positive: Loved how modern the Apartment was inside. Fabulous Location, Sea View and only a short walk to the Town Centre. Everything you needed if you wanted to cook. Bed was comfortable. En-suite came with shower and bath and great shower speed. WiFi was great! Negative: Entrance could do with a touch up of paint including the apartment doors. Cleanliness was overall okay but feedback would be best passed onto the cleaners to check between the sofa as we found someone’s knickers haha, luckily we had a great sense of humour however this could have been a different story.

Great stay, perfect location - close to the beach and short walk to the main areas. Very comfy sleep, all amenities worked well and the flat was perfect for what we needed!

We had a lovely stay here. The location was great, nice and close to the town centre, bars and restaurants, but was still nice and quiet in the evening. Great views out to the sea and the apartment was nice and clean and had everything we needed for our small break in Whitby. Would definitely recommend

Great spot to get into Whitby and handy to get the parking passes included. Apartment was spacious and clean and would recommend. Sofa wasn’t the comfiest, but we spent most of our time exploring and away rather than indoors so wasn’t the end of the world! Overall a great stay and would stay there again

Nice views ! Peaceful Positive: Location perfect parking great we got another parking card so we could park fine no problem at all , easy to get into property stone though from The beach ! Beautiful views. Can walk into the center. Negative: Unfortunately this is are second time staying I would stay again as we love the location but this time around it wasn’t as clean unsure if this was because we was offered an extra night so could be cleaner’s last min clean such a a lot of dust stains cobwebs the cooker hob doesn’t work on the back hobs but we just used the oven & front hobs the bed mattress like previous comments from the last years does need replacing the springs are comming though the actual mattress so it’s can be easily resolved just by a new mattress. But overall would book again. The location is just perfect. Can see Whitby abbey end of road amazing lit up for Halloween. !

It's a cool apartment in a good location. lovely view out of the bay window. very clean, well stocked kitchen (pans, utensils etc.) and as pictured. We had a great time and would recommend. Negatives are: The bed - creaky and therefore noisy. Also quite soft which I personally didn't find comfortable. Parking - From reading reviews it was clear that a parking permit (for the road outside) was included with the property. This is no longer the case (I admit it was not advertised in the property description, but was still mentioned in the written guide in the house) and so we had to find other arrangements which was a bit of a pain. Damage deposit - I get it, they want to protect themselves against vandalism or careless guests but essentially you have to pay £20 extra which is a bit gutting. Sure, you can pay £10 but this means being completely at the mercy of the hosting company to keep the entire £150 deposit for even breaking a mug. It just leaves a bad taste really.

We loved it booked again for October Charlie was excellent we can’t wait to stay again ! Positive: The location was great it was also a very bright property very clean a lot bigger then we thought had everything thing we needed so we have booked again Negative: Our last night a new family checked in to one of the other apartments sadly loud and also kept ringing our buzzer for the door by mistake this wasn’t a fault as your end it was just other guests

Lovely Whitby beach and town close by. Positive: Clean. Great location overlooking the sea. Lovely ice cream and coffee parlour opposite. Whitby is a great place for a UK holiday, and this is just a short walk into town. Negative: Evening time outside can be very busy and noisy especially motor bikes. Bed not very comfortable. It could have been improved with a bit more local knowledge eg about car parking.

I enjoyed it very much and loved the apartment except for the bed being uncomfortable Positive: The apartment was lovely, clean, well equipped and well located. It was quiet. Negative: The beds need replacing, they were rickety and uncomfortable. The lounge sofa needs to be better padded in the seats.

Avoid Host & Stay! They are dishonest and openly lie. I have all the emails to prove it. Positive: Location was nice, great view and lovely short walk to town/beach. Wifi was good and toiletries were good quality. Small cafe over the road was great, and opens late. Well worth a visit for a coffee or ice cream. Negative: The listing stated a parking disc was included, well it wasn't. I called owners, they said oh that's an error, we don't have the discs. They said simply pay for the parking and we'll issue a refund once you send a picture of all your parking tickets. I sent an email as requested 23 days ago as of today (25th June) and confirmed via phone and email by Emma my refund has been issued. Since then I've spoken to Chalie via email multiple times and various colleagues over the phone, they all say the same thing, "I've passed this to the finance team who will issue the refund" I still haven't has my £32 back... it leaves a sour taste to what should have been a nice holiday. On a couple of occasions I received standardised AI replies which didn't help and only intensified my frustration. So look out for those should you need to speak to their customer services. The property overall was okay however beds weren't the best, sofa dreadfully uncomfortable, small spots of blood on the bed sheets which wasn't pleasant.

Overall it’s a fab apartment that is let down by a few minor things needs Positive: Location was fab, kitchen had everything needed & felt spacious for 2 people Negative: Sofa was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever sat on, impossible to relax on ! Blinds in bedroom were thick dust We were on the ground floor (seaview retreat) & the door going to the stairs for the other apartments slams shut every time somebody heads through it, it was constantly slamming both evenings on a regular occurrence by other guests coming & going so maybe a soft closing door should be there as not pleasant to be awoken at 12, 1 & 2 each evening

Great stay. Easy check in and great location. Place spotlessly clean and even though it was an apartment we didn’t hear a peep from the neighbours.

Great stay, few niggles but overall thumbs up. Positive: Location is great. Negative: It hasn’t been cleaned upon our arrival and had to call to have someone come out. Very disappointing. Also, insufficient parking permits provided. Had to pay for more which wasn’t expected. Bit poor.

Would have been a dream if the front door would have worked. Positive: It's a breathtaking place, incredibly beautiful apartment - nice style and a lot of attention to detail. The view ist absolutely stunning. Everything is very clean and comfortable. Negative: We were unable to enter via the front door on the second day. The door was broken and despite calling the Hotline, door of the building was still not fixed the next day.

Absolutely loved the property. Was sorry we had to leave day early due to family bereavement Negative: Used the hob once and took 1/2 hour to cook bacon. I have same hob at home so used to cooking on it. Maybe needs looking in to.

Nice clean apartment in a good location. Being a ground floor property next to the entrance meant that it was quite noisy, lots of banging doors and people stomping up and down stairs. The hosting process with Host and Stay was very corporate and efficient, although the insurance registration requirement was initially quite off-putting and felt like some kind of scam.

Just returned from a 5 day stay at the Seaview Retreat. A lovely apartment with a fabulous view, 10 mins walk down to the pier. The apartment is clean and well maintained, check in was easy and so was the parking (please make sure you fill the parking scratch cards out correctly - year, month & (1st day of your stay only) we saw lots of people get tickets cos thwy either missed off the year or month or scratched all the days of there stay, which makes card invalid. It really is a lovely place ans we wouldn't hesitate returning

Fantastic location but needs some cosmetic/furnishings upkeep Positive: Fantastic location. Negative: The sofa is extremely uncomfortable and the bed was so noisy. Every time you turned over in bed you woke up. Also having to drag a chair to the windows to open and close the blinds as the strings are too short wasn’t ideal. Anyone with mobility problems would find this really difficult. The outside of the building/garden is desperately in need of some tlc. Hate being so negative but the property needs some attention before the rating goes down.

Parking is definitely a problem. We got two tickets - once for having the letter R of the last letter of the license plate look too much like an P. The second time was for putting the “disc” in the middle of the dashboard. The reason given was that it wasn’t clearly displayed. The suite is lovely though- clean , lots of coffee and tea. We had dinner at Pizza West just a short walk from the suite and was so amazing ! Highly recommend

Positive: Fantastic location on the West Cliff, closest to the beach which is short walk down directly opposite the front door of the property. Pavilion is right there too and also a rest area and little coffee/sweet shop that opens 9am every morning if want a drink or an ice cream. View is amazing!! The town center is very close also and is short walk down some stairs from the cliff in multiple places or if want a more gentle walk down you can follow the road behind which brings you to the center of town. Property was very comfortable for the two of us and access/arrangements were made easy thanks to the property management company, including a parking scratch card which allows you to use the allocated parking areas near the property for the length of our stay.

Positive: The location was perfect. Right on the beach front and a 2 minute walk from the harbour. Negative: The front door didn’t work, it took us lots of attempts every evening to get back in. The handle was awful & didn’t open most of the time. Massively disappointed that we wanted self catering due to me being 8 months pregnant we didn’t want to be going out all of the time but this ended up happening as the hob/cooker didn’t work. For over £100 a night we expected more & then ended up spending more money to eat out.

Fantastic place in a great location, and very clean and comfortable. Only niggles would be the blinds that let in a lot of light, and the (very, very comfortable) bed which makes a loud squeaking noise with every movement.

Great location and well equipped apartment, would recommend it Positive: Good location, very comfortable bed, nicely presented apartment with all we needed for a week, including washing machine and dishwasher and a good shower with plenty of hot water. Very clean apartment with freshly painted decor and good condition carpets and furniture. Negative: Sofa looked nice but wasn't very comfortable so had to put plenty of pillows and cushions on it. It was a bit bright in the bedroom in the mornings with only blinds so curtains would have helped. Squeaky bed although very comfortable.

Great location and sea views Positive: The location on the seafront was very good with a great sea view. The contact from the booking company was excellent. Parking with the provided card was easy. The flat was very clean and tidy and had everything needed for a nice stay.. Negative: .Could do with more instructions. The TV needs a basic guide as it took a while to figure it out. Also someone has set the cooker so it wouldn't work. Had to ask for help which was provided quickly. Plastic plants and black and white decor was a little plain and functional. Although I loved the blue chairs in the window as a splash of colour.. Some "clutter" would be nice, such as playing cards, books, local magazines, tourist info, etc. Creaky metal bed is not as shown in the pictures.

Lovely, clean apartment in a great location.

There are issues Positive: Excellent location and ground floor. Easy free parking with the free scratch cards provided. The kitchen was well equipped with the added bonus of a dishwasher. Negative: The whole point of an apartment is that you can relax, especially if you have been out walking all day, however there is absolutely no way you could ever get comfy on that terrible terrible settee, design has definitely been picked over comfort. The bed was far too soft for us but I also understand that is a very personal choice. The bathroom has a shower over it and to adjust the temperature you have to adjust the taps on the bath!! I believe this was refurbished only 18 months ago but some of the decisions are strange. This property could be so much more but the issues mean we wouldn’t return which is an absolute shame because we have stayed with Host & Stay previously.

I stayed with a friend on a long weekend in February, the whole process was seamless from checking in to finding where to park. The apartment is perfectly located in Whitby, easy to walk to everything and has a beautiful sea view to enjoy a coffee in the morning.

Negative: Had many problems with to front door, key and code, like the other couple who stayed. Not good late at night.

Great stay definitely worth booking

Could be good, but lots of improvement needed. Positive: Location of this property was brilliant, not even a minutes walk to the whalebones. Rooms were bright and of a decent size. Good facilities provided. Milk in the fridge is always a nice touch aswell. Negative: Few minor things, such as a pile of dried muck met us on the carpet as we 1st entered which had been cleaned for our arrival, sofa was quite hard and uncomfortable and I had to tighten the bolts on the bed by hand as it was all loose and squeaky. A wardrobe is needed, considering size of bedroom, not just a little hanging thing off the wall, also if you're bigger than an average person, then getting by the bed to the bathroom could prove difficult. The toilet seat hadn't been cleaned as throughly as it should've been. The electric heaters in all rooms were absolutely rubbish, heated up briefly when 1st turned on then cut out with error codes, had to reset these about every hour and obviously through the night it became quite cold as these would cut out. Reported this 1st morning, think maintenance came out however this didn't get resolved. The other issue we had was the bay window in the living room leaked quite badly from the ceiling, guessing from the flat roof another 2 floors up.

Negative: front door system a bit baffling and other residents can lock you in , needing the key. sofa looks great, but is uncomfortable to sit on.

Had a as fabulous time. Positive: Fabulous apartment, decor not as photos but still comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher Negative: Not that important but the vertical blind cords designed for tall people. Bed creaks!!!!
