Three of us stayed at Sea Watcher and it was perfect for our requirements. The apartment was clean and beds were comfortable. Lovely sea views and close to all the main amenities. We would recommend the apartment for a stay to Whitby.

Excellent stay with great friends Positive: Great property for a couples weekend. value for money. Brilliant views & location. Lots of stairs to go up if your not great on your feet no lift. Some of the bathrooms are a little run down but was ok for a couple of nights. Would definitely recommend & go back. Negative: Cold shower on first night & blinds didnt cover windows fully.

6 of us stayed in this apartment and overall it was a fabulous stay. Bedrooms were lovely, open plan kitchen/diner/living room spacious & awesome views of the sea. 3 separate bathrooms. Slight issue with hot water running out mid shower during 3rd person showering but left it a while and it did warm up again. Very well kitted out. Could do with a mirror in the en-suite bedroom at the front of the property for drying hair but that’s a minor niggle. Very happy with our stay and would definitely stay again.

Apartment was excellent, fabulous views from the living room looking onto the seafront and just a short walk down into Whitby (about 10 mins). The beds were very comfortable and with 5 of us staying there the 3 toilets/bathrooms were greatly appreciated. The only negatives were the electric hob not functioning properly (I noticed this had been pointed out on a previous review by another guest) and the apartment didn't have a toaster. Otherwise everything else was excellent, showers were decent and electric heaters soon warmed up the rooms. Would definitely stay here again

Lovely apartment. Ideal size for a group of 6 adults. Not suitable for people that cannot climb stairs. Just 10 mins walk to the centre of Whitby and beautiful views of the sea.

We stayed early March as a family of 5 incl toddler & dog. Communication via host was superb and answered any queries promptly. The apartment was a great size very cozy with comfy beds and modern bathrooms. The kitchen was a great size but we did find the living area very small in comparison with the rest of the apartment, we had to take turns to sit on the couch! the sea views are beautiful to look out to, very relaxing and the location is 10/10. Accessing the apartment is a hike up 6 flights of steep stairs which myself and partner managed but my parents in their 70s found this a “put off”. Mentioning only to make others aware as do feel it would compromise someone’s trip. There is an amazing restaurant down the road called The Fat Badger and a lovely coffee house over the road which is open every day. We would love to return to Whitby but feel we would prefer one of the apartments on the complex with a balcony. Overall fab stay!!!

Excellent location, nice and clean apartment. Take eye masks! Positive: Excellent location (near the whale bone arch). A nice quite part of Whitby, which was very close to the beach and close enough to easily walk with young children into town. The apartment was nicely decorated and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Negative: The two bedrooms that face the sea were very light in the early hours of the morning as the slated blinds didn't hold back enough light. I'd advise an eye mask for people that find it difficult to sleep in light rooms. Although free parking is stated, the parking we found was for 3 hours only in the day with no return in 2 hours. There is a car park close and we ended up parking there for £10.80 for 24 hours. The apartment is on the fourth floor with no lifts. Not a problem for us, but if you have mobility issues or very young kids the stairs might be a challange.

Beautiful apartment in a great location, very clean. Positive: The location of the property is fab (make sure you know you have a few flights of stairs to climb) the views are amazing. So close to the beach & the middle of town. It’s very clean, bed sheets and towels were lovely and fresh. The shower & baths hot water is great, fast flowing and hot (great for when you’re back from the cold beach!) If booked this for 2 adults and three small children which I would recommend it for (if you don’t have a buggy!) Negative: The bedrooms linen was very clean, although one of the bedrooms smelt like smoke. We only had one roll of toilet paper supplied for three bathrooms. The front door lock had been damaged and the key taken (i have noted this to the office) I was frustrated we’d not been left out the parking permit/scratch card one arrival / the first day. Could do with more than 2 teaspoons, but being fussy now! It’s a lovely place. We will be back to stay in the summer

The apartment was easy to find and within 5 -10 minutes walking distance from the train station. Great surroundings and views. The views from 2 of the bedrooms and the living room is the beach and sea! The apartment was well furnished with the most comfortable beds. The bedrooms and linen were all clean and fresh. We just found that there was hardly any hot water in the showers. It was Luke warm at best. In these winter months it is nice to be able to have a hot shower. We also found that the showers were mouldy. The tiles had mould on them and they just didn’t feel clean. There’s industrial stuff you can get to clean these areas which staff in the hotel I work use which are incredible. Other than that we’ve had an incredible stay! Great choice of accommodation. Lots of pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. Great for families and friends. Thank you!

Fab stay, would highly recommend this place to all. The view was great and was super comfortable and clean. Positive: Location, affordable, beautifully designed, clean. A bathroom per bedroom. The view was exceptional and just a short walk into Whitby centre.

It was a pleasure to stay at this place. It is newly furnished and the facilities are great and easy to use. Cleanliness was flawless and we really like the sea views and three bathrooms. One thing to improve is the hot water supply in one of the en-suite bathrooms - it was lukewarm water coming out. Other bathrooms were fine. Great value to see a beautiful town and its surroundings. Would definitely come again.

Beautiful views Positive: Perfect location, fantastic facilities and lovely rooms. Couldn't have asked for a better view and great value for money Negative: Cleanliness let the place down. Some of the towels were a little damp, some of the dishes weren't cleaned properly, one of the bathroom bins wasn't changed. Also one of the showers didn't seem to heat up

Lovely large modern apartment with excellent views Positive: The sea view was fantastic and the location is great. Apartment is large with lots of bathrooms and is therefore great for a big group. Negative: It wasn’t a problem for us but some would find the stairs hard but there is nothing the hosts can do about this and it is the nature of many properties in Whitby. We did have an issue where the parking scratchcard wasn’t in the property and wasn’t given to us until we left which didn’t help us pay for parking. They said they would refund our parking costs but haven’t yet and it’s been a few weeks

9.9/10 - Just not wheelchair accessible Positive: The space is plentiful and loads of light while the location is beautiful and perfect The place is exceptionally clean too Really easy check in Cannot fault the place or location, just a couple of niggles but we overcame those Negative: Was not wheelchair accessible as stated against one of the filters I selected Not all the saucepans worked on the induction hob, none of the frying pans did either - these need replacing as I found it hard to cook on the last night

Comfy bed but hated all the stairs Positive: Property very nice & warm. Comfy bed Had all we needed for the few days we were there. Great location for the music festival we attended Negative: My bathroom wasn’t as clean as I think it should have been. Vanity cabinet very dirty & shower head black & mouldy. Had an issue with shower drain but maintenance came to sort that. Was told the appt was second floor but was infact fourth floor. Think it would be a great idea to say as people Less capable could not manage the 68 steps up.

The property is spacious and, for the most part, clean. However, there were areas where dust had built up, particularly above the bed frame and in the bathroom. There were also some cup-ring stains on the window sills, along with stains on the carpets and sofa.I would definitely recommend an end-of-season deep clean to bring everything back up to standard.A few pieces of furniture could also do with some attention. An Allen key or screwdriver would be useful to tighten things up, particularly the dining chairs and the bedroom vanity tables.These are only small things and they certainly didn’t spoil our stay. The property has some great views and we otherwise enjoyed our time there.

Great stay but the cleaning was poor. I have a cleaning business so I am giving a real opinion on th Positive: Location was good as it was near to the royal hotel for evening drinks. The view was great. Car parking was manageable but could be very difficult in peak season. Negative: The carpet needs a clean and the bath drain was blocked and took 15 minutes to go down. The cleaners need some training on how to clean and the cooker hob was so difficult to use we gave up. Apart from that was very good.

whitby was great would not stay in these appartments again Positive: whitby was beautiful the view was wonderful the showers where excellent. parking was easy and quite local. Negative: far too many staires to the appartment broken items in bedrooms {lamp shades x 2} did not look like it had been cleaned, {carpets}. also the matress protector was stained which we only noticed on departure. drawer in bedroom was damaged {the front came off}.

Disappointing Positive: Perfect location with a beautiful view. Negative: Unfortunately, the apartment wasn’t as clean or comfortable as we expected. The blinds were thick with dust (as shown in the videos sent by email), and they didn’t close properly, which meant we were woken early by the sun. There were also no basic essentials provided, such as washing-up liquid or kitchen roll. The sofa was uncomfortable and stained, which was particularly disappointing when returning after a long day of hiking, and with no TVs in the bedrooms there wasn’t really anywhere comfortable to relax in the evening.

Great location and space!

Great location for Whitby and a fantastic view of the ocean from the Lounge/Kitchen and 2 of the 3 bedrooms. its worth noting that this property is 3 flights up, and there is no lift. everything we needed was in the property. its clean and modern but does need some of the Carpets deep cleaned.

Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Positive: Die Lage war perfekt, zentral gelegen und doch ruhig und mit wunderbarem Blick aufs Meer. Den Blick hätten wir noch mehr genossen, wenn das angekündigte Fernrohr vorhanden gewesen wäre. Negative: In zwei Badezimmern waren die Duschen stark verkalkt und die Abläufe total verstopft. Es macht den Eindruck , dass nur sehr oberflächlich geputzt wird. Küchenausstattung soweit gut, teils unsauber. Herd nicht einfach zu nutzen. Bei Gebrauch von mehr als 1 Herdplatte kommt kaum Wärme. Keine Gebrauchsanleitung.

Communication was great - property as described. Could have had a little more comfortable seating in the living room as it was all a bit squashed in for 6 people.Also some of the pans did not work on the induction hob & pans were very small considering the property was for 6 people.

Good apartment, modern and with great sea views, close to town center. Positive: Great location, nice to have three proper sized double bedrooms. Kitchen, dinning and living room is a great space. Apartment is well presented and has a lovely sea view. Negative: Just some minor maintenance issues: Heater didn't work in the two bedrooms with ensuites. The shower in the separate bathroom has low pressure and the kitchen is lacking in mugs and teaspoons. All easily fixable for future guests.

Great location Positive: Apartment is clean and comfortable, the location is good, everything we needed was provided, the beds were very comfortable. Negative: All the steps to the apartment, five flights of stairs with luggage and shopping was exhausting. Some of the cups and glasses weren't cleaned properly. No flexibility on checking in any earlier or just retrieving the scratch card so we could park up.

Nice stay but owners need to address issues. Positive: Lovely views and good location. Comfortable. Negative: Could do with a deep clean especially the carpets and bathrooms. 2 blinds were old and broken. Not enough mugs (5 in a 6 berth accommodation), not enough crockery or teaspoons. Still has a broken corkscrew which was in previous reviews. No oven glove. Only 2 dishwasher tablets for a 4 night stay.shower leaked and needed a bath mat outside it. Couldn’t get the hob to work at all. The owners don’t appear to be actioning the issues.

Whitby is lovely and it was in a lovely position but it’s basic accommodation. Positive: The location was lovely as expected. The beds were comfortable. Negative: It was described as luxury- but it was basic with cheap crockery and flimsy cutlery. No cafetière and a broken bottle opener and pans that didn’t work on the induction hob. The shower was blocked and flooded every time. However after the first day they did send someone to attend to the shower who ignored the sodden towels in the floor used to mop up the flood when they should have replaced them. Then it flooded again- so that after a shower it all poured out of the door. The coffee maker was not specified but it was one of those pod machines with two pods provided. I asked for a cafetière on the first day and they basically said they didn’t have one. The bottle opener was never replaced even though I raised this in the first day. This property and facilities cannot by any stretch of the imagination be called ‘luxury’. It’s at the end of the season and had tired feel about it. There were a few sachets of nescafé and a few of long life milk in the fridge and some teabags which felt rather mean consider considering it’s description. But the most frustrating was the lack of being able to make coffee in the morning and open a bottle of wine in the evening both of which I asked them on the very first day to attend to and they didn’t. They could’ve hoovered the stairs at the same time. I gave them an opportunity to respond to my messages and have left it a few days without any response, which is why I am putting this review on TripAdvisor.

Great location for a couple of nights stay Positive: Rooms were all lovely, living kitchen area had everything you needed. Negative: The amount of stairs leading to the apartment and the times to enter and vacate property 4pm to enter (unless you want to pay an excessive fee!)and 10am to leave !!

The apartment is clean, tidy, spacious and well-equipped, located in the heart of Whitby. We had a great time and would stay there again. The host, Dale, was friendly and responsive.

Beautiful apartment Positive: Location excellent and apartment stunning! So comfortable and would definitely return. Negative: Could have done with some nice scents around as the dated plumbing caused a slight foisty smell

Great location, comfortable stay. Positive: Location great. Views and telescope appreciated. All clean, though bedrooms and showers smelt a bit stale on arrival. Negative: More mugs and glasses and some crockery (so could use dishwasher). Also larger cafetiere. Toaster and cafetiere were faulty. Need larger saucepan and frying pan. No washing up liquid provided. Nor proper washing up brushes or cleaning cloths - difficult to keep kitchen area clean without these.

Excellent place to stay - with a little TLC it would be fabulous. Positive: Location was perfect and generally the apartment was well set up. The stairs were a lot but we expected that from the description. Negative: Kitchen utensils were sparse and the cook top was under powered - you couldn't use more than one ring at a time. The parking pass was not available on check-in. despite sending several messages beforehand to confirm and being assured they would be there on arrival. They were delivered later on in that day.

Beautiful flat, fantastic views and location, cleanliness let it down Positive: Great location, well furnished and equipped kitchen, perfect location and views. This is our second time staying here, the number of rooms and each room having it's own bathroom is perfect for us. Negative: The cleanliness of the flat let us down a bit. The grill tray in the oven wasn't clean, there were smears of some kind of skin cream in the bathroom cupboard in one room. The bathroom sink in one room got blocked and one dial on the microwave was broken. We called Host and Stay about it and they said they'd send someone to fix it but they never did.

A short break spoilt by Guest Services of Host & Stay Positive: The location is excellent and the property is clean and comfortable. Negative: When we arrived, there was no scratch card for the parking at the property. I phoned Host & Stay to check what to do and was first told to check all the drawers in the property. After this, I was told to pay for parking and then send a photo of the parking tickets for reimbursement. There have been several email exchanges and promises that the money will be paid but, nearly two months later, I have still not received the reimbursement.

Could of been the best but let down from the start Positive: Nice location Negative: The stairs . But we knew that before arriving. But on arrival we were given the wrong keys to the apartment (we had to swap keys from another tenant ) and no parking card as promised . We even tried to make contact with the hosts with very little response apart from ‘we will reach out to the team and get back to you ‘ but no team ever came back to us .

Positive: Good location is all I can say about the property. Negative: Cleanliness was awful. Window seals full of dead flies. Defiantly hadn’t been cleaned before we checked in, floors were filthy / not hoovered, the apartment stunk of fast food when we arrived, bed linen had blood stains and a cigarette burn in. Pans didn’t work on hob either. Photos are defiantly outdated on this place as it doesn’t look as clean and new as the photos show.

Lovely stay but disappointed not to have been provided with the advertised parking permits as we’re told they’d run out Positive: Lovely location, clean, spacious and well equipped. Negative: Some small areas of wear & tear but no big deal.

Enjoyable couple of days. Positive: Great location, comfortable and nicely furnished. Negative: Only one saucepan, hob lacked any power, large frying pan didn’t work on hob. A little maintenance required on property, stains and a burn on carpets, shower door not sealing and mouldy tiles with no grout. Door stop hanging off, walls quite badly marked as you walk up the stairs to the property. We were only there 2 days so didn’t cause us a problem but just needed a little tlc.

Avoid unless you like being overcharged Positive: Location Negative: The apartment was very dirty upon our arrival. It is in a poor state of repair throughout. Broken window blinds, broken showers in 2 of the bathrooms (unusable). Walls covered in dirt and scuffs in every room. Black mould growing in the sealant around the shower enclosure (ensuite double). Dead spider on bathroom wall. Just awful..... really awful! A weekend away ruined 😪 Avoid at all costs... this is a grossly overpriced 2 star property!

Satisfactory Positive: Location , really comfortable beds. Negative: The hob didn’t work and the showers were cold. Lots of stairs to apartment. Would have liked to have been informed of that prior to booking. Would have gone for a lower apartment option.

The apartment is beautifully decorated and the sea view is perfect. However as other reviews have stated the shower is not hot ! It does not match the luxury of the decor. The en-suite shower was cold water. The shower was dirty with a lot of black mould on the hose. The middle bath/shower was warmer but was still not hot enough. There was loads of hot water in the kitchen so the problem is specific to the showers. All the bathrooms smelled unpleasant . I know this can be a problem in apartments. An air freshener would have helped to mask the problem. The apartment is lovely and the shower situation spoils the experience. I was glad we only stayed two nights.

Lovely place to stay, great views over the sea. Apartment was clean and modern. Had an issue getting in as the key is almost impossible to put back in the lock box! Also had a problem with the water in one of the showers not being hot enough, and then all hot water started to go cold. Contacted the property and they were very responsive and helpful. There are still a couple of saucepans/frying pans in the property that don't work because they are not compatible with the induction hob. Over all lovely place and fantastic location.

A comfy and quiet apartment with great sea views. Positive: Good location with a great view across the harbour mouth and the sea. The rooms were clean and linen, towels, etc were good and of good quality. The kitchen was well-equipped and the inbuilt appliances all seemed to work well (of those we used). Negative: The front door key pad lock (to all the properties) was on its last legs. Consequently it continually proved difficult to open, sometimes needing multiple attempts. The offer of a "damage waiver" at extra cost was not mentioned in the original booking details. More emphasis needs to be put on the multiple stairs which guests need to climb to get to the apartment. The telescope (tripod) provided is broken and therefore is of limited use.
