Beautiful location over looking the sea for cosy picturesque mornings with the whalebones and town a short walk away. Perfect for a couples getaway with parking very close. This is my 6th and favourite stay in Whitby.

Great apartment in a beautiful position. Recommend The Fat Badger for a drink and bite to eat . Positive: Location was brilliant with a great sea view. Negative: There was a very nice Nespresso coffee machine but with only 3 pods between 2 of us on a 3 night stay . Would have been good if there were a few more.

My husband and I were taking a weekend break away, we found that this apartment met our needs perfectly. The views are a Positive: Beautiful apartment, clean, cosy. Wonderful location and views. Negative: The only thing we noticed was the bathroom, there was a dull smell of drains.

accommodation wad clean, tidy and near the areas we needed to get too. only things we didn't like was the size of the bed was too small for both of us.

Was a horrendous ammonia/fishy/chemical smell in the bathroom. Was told on 3 separate occasions they would sort and did not. It was unbearable to be in. Made myself, daughter and partner feel sick. We couldn’t sleep and spent as little time as possible in the apartment. It’s clear this is an ongoing problem as I have now found lots of reviews from the past year expressing the same things. This property is not fit to stay in and should not be allowed on air bnb to rent. The owners need serious work doing to the property to make this fit to stay in. It is going to cause someone to be seriously ill especially if they have lung/respiratory problems

Birthday week Positive: We liked absolutely everything about the property it was amazing home from home. All the appliances and furnishings were first class and most importantly spotlessly clean. We had a superb view across Royal Gardens to the sea! The position was good and we’ve had the most wonderful week a real treat for my birthday 🍷💕 Negative: Only that the lift was out of order and we had 54 stairs to go up and down each day, with cases it was difficult fortunately going up first day some kind young man 2 floors down carried them up the last two flights!

The place is cosy and as per photos. It is clean and very conveniently located, with a great view too. Hosts were very responsive. Unfortunately, a little issue that we had was that the hot water cuts off after 11pm and that there is a fishy smell in the toilet. It helped that there was an air freshener in it that we could use.

Positive: Everything is just beautiful, such an amazing apartment.

Positive: The appartment was clean and adequately furnished for our short break. The beds where comfortable and the location was great. A10min walk into town with great views of the coasline. Negative: Elrctric car cjarging was nearly impossible.

Nice stay but a few blips need sorting. Positive: Bright and cheerful. Sofa comfortable, kitchen has all you need for a short stay, good location, double bed with nice linen. Walk in shower with some toiletries. Tea and coffee left in jars for use. WiFi east to get into. Negative: Pillow very flat and no spare to correct this. Awful damp smell in bathroom even with the fan on all the time Fan very noisy even at night First info for entry to building didn’t arrive for 30 Minutes after check in so took a while to get in Check out was awful. Information at booking said 7.30-10.30. We received an email at 9.30pm the night before saying 9am check out. We didn’t open email till the next morning at 8.15 so only had 45 mins to get up, showered, packed and have breakfast.

Such a great stay, would recommend to anyone. The view from the window is stunning and it’s a lovely walk to the centre.

A very pleasant apartment in a great location, offering easy access to Whitby attractions Positive: Good kitchen facilities for self-catering with a full-sized fridge-freezer Apartment was clean and spacious. Location was excellent- easy to find and walking distance to town, beach, abbey etc Negative: The property was well-equipped for a self-catering stay but it might be helpful to provide washing-up liquid and a dishcloth/J-cloth or advise in the facilities details that customers should bring these themselves.

Negative: This could have easily been a 4-5 star review however we were unfortunately incredibly let down. Firstly we were only given the postcode of the address, instead of telling us the number and name of the house the apartment is located in, so it was a bit of a struggle to find at first but once we were in it was a beautiful apartment (some scuffs and scrapes but still lovely). There were 3 of us staying there and we were only provided with 2 towels, 1 toilet roll and limited body wash. After hunting through the place for the bedding for the sofa bed (located in a under the sofa drawer by lifting the right side of the sofa up) no directions were given for that you’ve got to find them yourself we found a duvet and pillows but no sheets, duvet cover or pillow cases. When we messaged to tell them we were missing a towel and bedding instead of offering to supply them they insisted they were in the apartment. They weren’t. We looked in every nook and cranny and every drawer etc in the place. We told them this and they basically called us liars and didn’t offer any solution. They said we could file a complaint but the link they sent us had been removed so we couldn’t even do that. Unfortunately the toilet smells of drains after just one flush. It was just a really unfortunate turn of events because if the supplies and customer service had been better this would have been a really lovely stay but as it stands, it was not.

The location is top tier. Apartment is spacious and great for what we needed. Was almost perfect but just needs a good deep clean. Very responsive host and it was grand for what we needed. We were barely in the house as there’s so much to do! Thanks

Great location but could do a lot, lot better Positive: Location, lift to 3rd floor, view of West Cliff bay, Negative: There was a lot we didn't like Only two large towels, one toilet roll, no welcome or hello ! gifts like bottled water. There was a coffee pods machine but no pods. Only 3 tea bags, no milk and the pans and plates were dirty, some with stale food. The frying pan was disgusting. The toilet/bathroom stank like a sewer. I complained and someone called Karen promised to" look into it" but nothing happened. There were 2 sachets of shampoo/bodywash and one half sachet that had been pre used. I don't normally give a bad or even a poor review but the whole 4 day break was spoilt by these factors. It's not pleasant having to wash up someone's elses filth. Obviously no one checked Two other points. One the double bed was smaller than the normal king or queen size Secondly after booking we were constantly bombarded with emails from Host and Stay. Many were for a private chef, the others were constant reminders, confirmation of booking, discounts etc. It was a constant bombardment and I guess automatically generated If 'Karen' had got back I would have asked for a partial refund, but of course because we'd only booked 4 nights she didn't So to sum up nice place, super location, but seriously let down by the very simple things that make a difference. There was absolutely no customer service and Host and Stay skimped on the little details. Also I noted quite a lot of minor damage, nothing to do with us but things that were easily fixed they didn't do. Very disappointing 😞

Comfy bed Negative: Dust in places, especially bathroom fan & Crumbs between sofa cushions. I found the Sofa was uncomfortable. Broken picture & toilet roll holder No parking disc or scratch card advice Small bed and no tv. No shelf in shower unit No coffee pods provided and change of departure time from 10 to 9am the night before leaving.

We had a wonderful time. Great accommodation, very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Fabulous sea views and walkable into Whitby. All we needed.

Nice apartment in an excellent location. Positive: Excellent location close to shops,bars and restaurants and the beach. Sea view too. Good size apartment with everything you need for your stay. The lift upto the 3rd floor much appreciated. Straightforward check in. Car parking available close by. Negative: Sofa could gave been a bit more comfortable and the shower taps need some minor fixes - part of the front of one was missing. Would have preferred a bigger sized double bed.

Superb position on the seafront and well kept and modern flat. All facilities were excellent and the lift was much needed after walking all day around this beautiful part of the world.

Positive: Location and amenities were excellent Negative: Directions to find the apartment were poor, we had to ask a local resident as when we contacted the letting agent they could not us directions. On walking into the apartment I can only describe it as smelling of "dirty mop" which was particularly apparent in the bathroom with it having no windows. The fridge smelt of fish, and we had to scrub this out immediately as I have a fish allergy.

We enjoyed out stay it is in a very convenient area close to amenities and areas of interest Positive: The view from the flat were amazing - it was in a very convenient spot. Very walkable into town and the pier Negative: Parking was a bit of an issue as the closest parking area the pay station was not working and we had a difficult time trying to locate a pay station that would issue a 24hr tickets (they work out a lot cheaper)

Good location Positive: Perfect location, very modern high spec with lovely views. Negative: Unfortunately, it was not very clean, dirty cutlery and utensils, very dusty and the floor was dirty. Disagree with the insurance they put on you a few days before you go, not mentioned when booking! And they don't release the access codes before you pay it! It's a shame of the cleanliness as it's a beautiful apartment, but you shouldn't have to clean cutlery and the microwave before you use them after paying the amount we did, I understand that it was probably the people before us that left it, however they do have cleaners before the next customer arrives.

Positive: Lovely appartment very clean and well presented with a great view , also it was great to have an elevator in the building as by the time you walk down to the harbour and walk around the shops and back up to the appartment you are glad you don't need to climb the stairs Negative: This not a criticism , but it is very complicated to work out the radiators, the information from the owners said you could adjust them manually with the control in the hall but there was no control there . We tried to read the manual but it was very complicated so did not bother . Also the shower was not easy to work out either , could only get very hot could not work out how to adjust it . A not on the outside of the door with instructions would have been helpful . However this did not spoil our stay in the appartment

Really enjoyed our weekend and would definitely use host and stay again. Positive: Good size and layout, nice decoration and great location. Negative: We found there to be a bad smell in the bathroom like a musty smell which we didn’t know where it was coming from.

Good Positive: The apartment was really good, clean and had all the amenities we needed. The bathroom smell noted by other guests prevailed. I guess the owner or Host and Stay don’t really care to sort this out. Good location of the flat. Negative: Host and Stay were terrible. They gave me lots of useless information prior to my trip, but failed to give me actual useful info such as the apartment number, key code etc, until I rang them multiple times

Sandcastles in Whitby Positive: The apartment was in a great location for walking into town and across the bridge to the old town and Abbey steps. The apartment itself was warm with modern furnishings. Negative: The bathroom had a vile smell, possibly extreme damp or sewage backflow. This was very disappointing as it had been noted in a previous review and distracted from a lovely apartment.

Positive: Great location. Negative: There was a strange smell in the bathroom and some of the surfaces were quite dusty. I didn't like the surprise additional costs for insurance that were compulsory, but only mentioned after you had booked.

Needs addressing with a plumber as smell turns stomach and this is what would prevent us from staying again. Also maybe a portable fab for the summer months as bedroom soo warm even without radiators .Car park expensive £9 a day

Don’t book a host and stay booking Positive: I cancelled this booking so these question are a waist of time. I will be very wary of using booking.com again as this Host and stay booking included extra charges that were not clearly listed. I also got direct emails from host and stay, where is the data protection. Negative: Nothing

Good location nice warm flat Positive: Great flat lovely Negative: It was dirty in places, hair in shower, pubic hair under basic, unclean surfaces. Reported this and did not receive a reply that indicated they were too bothered, however we paid £50 for cleaning and expected it to be near to spotless

Perfect for a short relaxing mini break in Whitby. Positive: Perfect location, furnished to high standard, comfortable with great views. Negative: Lift was out of order which meant climbing 56 steps. No washing up liquid or dish clothes.

Negative: there needs to be a tv in the bedroom. there is a socket on the wall for it . also I think the sofa in the living room should be replaced for a sofa bed . 1 to make it mor comfortable and 2 it allows to extra ppl to stay. the main door to the apartment has a big gap to the carpet making it very noisy when others are entering and leave their own apartments

Short and Expensive for not a lot! Positive: Nice location. Negative: No parking available for user. Local parking is expensive. Very expensive room/stay considering check in is at 1600 and check out is 0900 (should have been 1000, but email stating you have to leave), not even 24hrs for £175. Smell of drains/other toilets/blockage in the bathroom. Temperature of room on arrival (was 28 degrees).

Great location to explore Whitby. Positive: The apartment was in a great location for exploring Whitby. Facilities in the apartment were excellent. Negative: Was a long process with the booking as had to send off a photograph for my ID.

Positive: Lovely little place, very clean and tidy and helpful phone staff Negative: Check out was 10am but we got a message the evening before saying check out was 10am but please leave by 9am for cleaning. This isn't right, if check out is 10am, it's 10am. Also, the bathrooms of other properties seem to be linked to the same system as the bathroom got a bit smelly when we hadn't even used it.

Positive: The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Lovely view of the gardens and sea from the windows. Negative: The fact we weren't given the code to get into the building and had to wait on the doorstep for another guest to let us have the code. We rang the company twice before leaving to ask for details.which they finally sent two hours into our journey-but no door code !!

I really enjoyed my few days away and would stay in the apartment again if I came bsck to Whitby. Negative: Parking was £9 per day for 24hrs
