We all felt at home from the moment we arrived at the lodge including our furry boy. It was immaculate and the furnishings were clean and very comfy exactly as shown in the photos. The comms from the owners for check in and recommendations were spot on We loved Runswick Bay the beach and both pubs highly recommend. The only issue was the steepness of the hill to get to the village and the beach which we did daily and was like a workout but definitely worth it. Will return as the North Yorkshire coast is so beautiful and the lodge is a great place to stay.

Beautiful lodge - spacious, clean, comfortable plenty of equipment, plus fully enclosed small veranda for dog. Quiet location, near Runswick beach, plus there are lots of other clean, dog-friendly beaches nearby. The bottom carpark at Runswick Bay is near the beach - there are a few steps down, but totally manageable for most people.We loved Whitby beach too - great for dog-walking. We had a couple of queries about the lodge when we arrived, but they were professionallydealt with within the hour. Thank you very much for our wonderful holiday.

Loved it, so peaceful, really clean, plenty of country side and beaches near by, dog loved it too.

Lovely location, we felt right at home . The lodge was very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space to relax inside and out . It was nice that the decking area was fenced off and secure , so we knew that our 4 year old grandchild and dog could go outside and be safe . The lodge was equipped with everything we needed and more . Runswick Bay hotel was only a short walk away and they provided a good menu to suit everyone and the portions are plentiful. The village itself is beautiful and Whitby was only a short drive away . We would definitely return and we’ll recommend this to friends and family .

Host&Stay were great at communicating the standard check-in and check-out messages. We were hit with a planned power cut that we weren’t made aware of. Our neighbours had received a communication. Clearly this wasn’t relayed to us. We would have arrange ourselves with small children (bathing and cooking) around the power cut. We found the house manual inadequate for resetting the oven post the power cut. Unnecessary stress that could have been avoided.

Bright and air properly. The lodge is situated on an excellent plot. Exactly what we needed for some relaxing family time. Beach close by.

We had a fantastic time, Runswick Bay is charming and the lodge was fantastic. We had a week of glorious sunshine so the outside seating was spectacular, we had sunrise on the main balcony and then sunset at the 2nd balcony at the back. The kitchen was fantastic and had everything we needed to enjoy some family meal times. Having 2 separate bathrooms was great too and made everyone feel very comfortable. There was plenty of room for our newborns travel cot in the main bedroom and our dog slept in her bed just outside the door. The secure gates on the terrace meant our dog could roam around in safety and we could relax knowing she couldn't get out. Me and my Partner love a morning sea dip and with Runswick Bay being a short 10 minute walk down the bank we went every morning before breakfast. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay again. The only thing that we would like to see is a recycling bin as there was only one bin for all rubbish.

The Lodge is absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and homely. Just what you want from an Air BnB. The location is fab, a short walk from Runswick Bay and also a lovely walk to Staithes along the cliff tops, with a simple bus ride back if you don't fancy walking. I would definitely recommend this lodge. My only (small) criticism is that the directions should have been clearer - number 14 is in the second gate you come to, not the first and there needs to be some hooks in the bedroom for dressing gown/towels.

Absolutely fantastic lodge, so spacious, really private, quiet and secure. Stunning surroundings, beautiful walks, scenery and pubs and walks on the doorstep. One of the best breaks for a long time! Thankyou!

Excellent couple of days with friends. Positive: Spacious, very clean, ideal location, really comfy beds! Negative: The tv was difficult to work!

Positive: It is the perfect place for a quiet getaway with friends. Comfortable, clean, and with all you would need to enjoy a relaxing time and set in a beautiful seaside village.

Positive: Great location, comfortable beds, windows let in a lot of light so there was a good atmosphere. Kitchen had enough bowls, plates, glasses and cutlery etc for everyone in the group and the dishwasher was very useful. The oven and stove were easy to use. Very grateful to have free WiFi and the TVs allowed us to log in to Netflix so all in all the facilities were wonderful! Negative: It would have been useful to have another bin as with our group of six cooking every day the bin became full very quickly. It also would have been good to have a couple extra rolls of toilet roll in addition to what was provided as we had to go buy some more on the 3rd day of our stay.

Chilled and relaxed in beautiful surroundings in a beautiful location Positive: The location of the property was perfect for our needs. Nice quaint village, with a fantastic local pub that served amazing food. The property had all the features needed, tea, coffee, milk and sugar were provided for our arrival. All kitchen appliances were available. There was ice awaiting us in the freezer and the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The owners of this property have put a lot of thought into the needs and comforts of their customers. Would I stay there again….too right I would. Negative: 🤔🤔🤔🤔 can’t think of anything

A very high quality lodge on a quiet park. I would stay here again. Positive: It was well furnished, clean and all on one level which was ideal for people with poor mobility. Just a few steps to get into the lodge with a rail.

Very nice lodge, spotlessly clean on a peaceful development of other lodges. Right on the Cleveland trail for nice walks along the cliffs and plenty of things to do within half an hour or so. Only minor thing was we did ask if there was a high chair to which we were told no so we took our own, however, there was one at the property (which was very well equipped). I suspect it was just an error on the part of the hosting company but for info there is one there (but no travel cot), save lugging your own. Three very nice bedrooms, smart TV, decent sized fridge/freezer and good shower/bathroom facilities. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and would recommend.

Amazing accommodation and amazing location Positive: Everything was exceptional and the place was very well equipped with everything you’d need for your stay. The welcome pack was very useful and helped with the use of heating in the accommodation and local information was very useful too. I would highly recommend Host and Stay. Negative: The only thing was the bathroom door did not close looked like water damage on the bottom of the door causing it to expand and swell stopping it from shutting and one of the skylights had some damage to the wood panelling like it was coming away from the sides. Apart from that everything else was amazing.

Overall a nice place to stay Negative: I had to phone for the gate number and key code for the lodge In the utility room there was a smell like the drains it wasn’t very pleasant All other lodges we have stayed in have left a welcome pack but not even a toilet roll was left Otherwise a good lodge

Cannot recommend this lodge and location enough. The lodge itself was absolutely perfect. It was immaculately clean, very stylish and extremely comfortable. It had everything we needed and is absolutely beautiful.

I have nothing but great things to say about the property but also the response times from the host. Firstly, it is in a beautiful place, plenty of parking, not overlooked and pretty much exactly as the pictures show. The host was great, extremely responsive and no question too silly. I must say the check in process was brilliant, so much detail but easy to digest. If there was one consideration point, albeit not an issue for us an 11am check out would be a great option. We will be back again!

Lovely place for short break Positive: Really nice and comfy lodge. I love everything about it. Beautiful place for a short break. Very Clean house and well presented, and hopefully we can come back there again. We spend there lovely two nights and I will recommend to everyone to visit this place. Negative: Customer service, waiting almost 1 hour to call back and help with information regarding access to the property but apart of that lovely stay.

Perfect holiday home! Positive: Such a beautiful and well decorated holiday home! It has a real seaside feel to it and a nice vibe! Negative: We liked it all, but maybe a thick mattress topper on the 2 single beds and a little bedside lamp in the same room as the room only has sealing light! Apart from that there is nothing else we would change!

Would happily go again but customer service and communication needs to be improved. Positive: Lovely property, spacious and good location Negative: Communication difficulties regarding beds and splitting and then difficulty arranging this to be altered with conflicting messages. Kitchen equipment that was not there and then promised never materialised which was frustrating.

Perfect for a weekend with easy access to the Bay. Positive: Quiet location so close to the Bay, cleanliness and brightness and beautifully turned out. Negative: The en suite bathroom didn't smell great. Smell coming from the toilet. The en suite bedroom was really small; I couldn't spend more than a wknd there.

Positive: The size of the place and position had a good view and was quiet beds very comfortable Negative: Blinds in bathrooms very dusty,no teatowels or Pan scrubber to wash pots with, no washing detergent, not even a little.

Positive: Very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. fully stocked with any utensil you could possible imagine!

Lovely peaceful location the beach is in close walking distance and lovely and quiet. Easy access to Whitby on the local bus.

What a lovely lodge and in a perfect location. The lodge was great in size and had plenty of room to spread out. It was clean and fresh, only down side was the oven was a bit dirty and some cobwebs around the roof. Normally wouldn't mind but for £90 cleaning fee for 2 nights I would expect it to be spotless. Please read the description as you are required to pay £25 for their own insurance before you can stay, this came as a shock as I hadn't seen this and got an email 2 weeks before asking for payment or we couldn't stay. We would return as it is a lovely part of the world and the lodge suits us.

Lovely weekend break at Salt and Seaweed. We loved the open plan spacious feel plus it’s located on the end of a row so not surrounded. Would definitely recommend it.

Nice peaceful location and well equipped lodge

Good holiday location Positive: Communication and access to the property were good. Negative: Mixed messaging. On Saturday I received an email saying checkout was by 12pm contradicting previous emails. 24 hours later I received a further email saying checkout was at 10am. I didn't see this email until after the property had been vacated but it could have been awkward.

Positive: The standard of the facilities was excellent. We knew the village well and we're not disappointed Negative: We received conflicting messages about the check out time. One said 1000 and the other 1200. We planned for ten left by 1015 and the cleaner had already arrived.

Outstanding and modern holiday home! Positive: Really modern and beautiful decorated holiday home! Very crisp and clean with a perfect location and 2 parking spots just outside the door! Negative: We loved our stay and couldn’t fault anything! Perfect!

Excellent place, lovely area, just what we wanted, faultless

A beautiful lodge that was reasonably clean and very well equipped. Would definitely go there again. Two negatives - the original write up when I was booking said it is on a small development of 5 lodges. There are about 30. If all the other residents had been there it would have been a little claustrophobic. And the instructions for finding the lodge were not entirely accurate (should have said second turn right, not first turn). And ignore the instructions for the Wi-Fi, they are wrong, just use the code on the back of the modem. But overall, a very good few days.

Beautiful lodge, fantastic location :) Positive: The location of the lodge (far corner) was perfect, nice and quiet and not overlooked. The lodge itself was immaculate, beautiful decor and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of room for all 5 of us to sit inside, and outside there were two seating areas so we could move with the sun! A 20 minute drive into Whitby and Runswick bay was only a 5 minute walk away. Negative: The only thing that was lacking was a shop on site for essentials. The lodge itself had everything we needed but in terms of getting bits in for breakfast, a shop/supermarket close by would have been ideal, but that's a very tiny negative!

High quality accommodation in a great location - would love to stay again

An amazing property in a stunning location. Positive: The property was amazing, fantastic open plan living, dining and kitchen area, a high ceiling with loads of light, just stunning. Everything we needed was there. The location was perfect for exploring. Negative: I can honestly say there was nothing we didn’t love about it.

A super few days in a really comfortable and delightful lodge. It was absolutely spotless, can't wait to re-book.

Lovely place

We were rather annoyed to be hit by a £25 insurance surcharge 10 days before arriving. Given high cost of the booking this should have been incorporated into original costs. Receiving over a dozen messages (on top of anything personal), was also overkill and intrusive. The lodge is lovely but the park was weirdly quiet (it was half term week) with half the lodges being clearly not used (too expensive perhaps?). The office was never open for our entire stay. Runswick itself is a delight as ever. We will always return to Runswick but unlikely to pay that price again.

Runswick bay is stunning and the lodge was a great spot to explore - decent walk to the beach but return walk is not for the faint hearted and car park gets full - the lodge is spacious well equipped and ver clean - excellent kitchen facilities which we used

The cabin was in a perfect location, it was walking distance from the bay and close enough to drive to bigger towns. The cabin was bright and clean and perfect for what we needed, it came with all the amenities listed and really easy to find and check in. Would recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay in this area :)

We spent a long weekend for my sons 22nd birthday. The accommodation and site were amazing, the lodge had everything you could need. The communication was brilliant. Will definitely be back!

We had a great long weekend staying at ‘Salt and Seaweed’. It was quiet, spacious, clean and had all the mod cons. Really great location so we were able to get to all the local beaches in no time at all. We will definitely be booking again and would highly recommend to others. Thank you!

A good base if you are wanting to visit Whitby, Staithes and Saltburn- no more than a 20 minute travel time. The lodge is located on a small and secure gated holiday park with super facilities- just be mindful that the local tv mast is damaged so only catch up and app style tv watching available.

Lovely peaceful spot close to the beautiful Runswick Bay. The lodge has all the cooking equipment you’d need and the toiletries were a nice touch. The lodge is warm and cosy at night time and plenty spacious for a large family. We couldn’t fault it and only wish we could have stayed longer!

Salt and Seaweed in on a small development of luxury lodges and is a very quiet and tranquil place to stay. Runswick Bay is small itself but it is perfectly placed for exploring that part of the Yorkshire coastline. If visiting soon then please be aware that the local television transmittor is currently out of action. The TV in the lodge does have access to things like iplayer, Netflix etc, so not a big deal.
