Positive: Great flat, with an amazing location. Well furnished Negative: Need a deep clean, all the kitchen appliances were sticky. The bathrooms where not really up to date.The stairs with small children are a bit dangerous.

Cute, neat, well-located and comfortable. Perfect for a couple of nights by the see with the kids.

Comfortable stay Positive: Location is perfect for Whitstable- beach and high street. Beds are really comfy. Kitchen well equipped. Handy having 2 bathrooms. Negative: Could have been cleaner, the windows in particular need a clean as well as the blinds. Poor blind quality also meant lots of light came in which isn’t ideal for kids, maybe adding curtains would help. The bannister made me a bit anxious with young children too as not to safety regs with missing bannister at top of stairs.

Canadian visitors Family visiting us in Maidstone so decided to have a couple of days at the coast. Apartment was as described though we hadn’t realised there would be a steep flight of stairs and finding parking space could be a bit of a problem. Overall we enjoyed a pleasant few days.

This is a great flat in a perfect location for Whitstable. We stayed for three nights over the bank holiday weekend and it was great for our family of 3. There’s a playground just around the corner while both the beach and high st are a short walk away. The property has character and is well equipped.

Bright and sunny Whitstable holiday home Positive: This is our second time in this apartment and we enjoyed staying here just as much as we did the first time. We love the location, great kitchen facilities, light and spacious layout and effective heating for colder months. Smart t.v. is a bonus and having 2 bathrooms for a couple is just perfect.

Sail Away was in a fabulous location between the beach and the high street. We managed to find a parking space in the road (even in an extremely busy Saturday). Flat was easy to find, spotlessly clean and lovely and cool on a very hot weekend. Would definitely recommend

Excellent location within walking distance to town and beach.

Great location - a quick walk to the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, but still quiet at night. The flat is more spacious inside than the photos suggest, and the hosts were very communicative throughout. The only slight difficulty was parking, as it’s on-street in a very popular area. The hosts did warn us in advance so it’s no fault of theirs, just worth being mindful of before you book. Would happily stay again.

We’d only booked from Thurs evening to Sunday morning and with the festivities we really only used it to sleep in. Positive: The location was perfect for the location of the family wedding and reception/party we were attending. The beds were comfortable and clean. Negative: It hadn’t been cleaned properly. There was sand on the floor, dining table, the fireplace slab, dresser, bedside tables were thick with dust, the cooker job was visibly dirty, there was a carrier bag with old cushions left out in the living area and a glass still in the sink. Worst was there was a pair of ladies pants sticking out from the back of the chest of drawers in the bedroom to the skirting board. Sadly i took mostly video and I can’t upload them so just posting the couple of photos I took. I gave feedback to the property and they’ve apologised for the oversight

Mit ein wenig mehr Sauberkeit und Unterstützung beim Wasserausfall wäre es eine Top-Unterkunft! Positive: Information über die Anreise war vollständig und korrekt. Die Lage in kurzer Entfernung zum Meer und auch zum Ortskern, war sehr gut. Fußläufig in weniger als 5 Minuten erreichbar. Beide Zimmer hatten ein eigenes Bad und Toilette und Fenster zum Innenhof/Garten. Handtücher waren genügend vorhanden. Fernseher mit Möglichkeit auch deutschsprachige Filme über Netflix zu schauen. Negative: Es hätte etwas sauberer sein können. Die Matratzen und Matratzenüberwurf hatten Flecken und auch im Bad und in der Küche hätte 1 x mehr reinigen nicht geschadet. Die Fenster waren sehr verschmutzt. Der Teppichboden war auch voller Flecken. Keine Ersatzmüllbeutel vorhanden. Nach dem Wasserausfall gab es keinen Support vom Vermieter. Keine Bereitstellung von Trinkwasser. Ohne Auto wäre das sehr kompliziert geworden.

Comfortable, well appointed, two bathrooms and close to the beach 5* Positive: Have stayed here before so knew what to expect. It has everything we need and the two bathrooms are a game changer! Loved the quick walk to the beach. Negative: Parking a bit tricky but we managed to fine somewhere very nearby so nota major problem

The apartment is in a fantastic location, moments from the beach. We felt it could have been a bit cleaner, and communication with the host was a little slow/confusing. Other than that the space is great for a short stay.

Apartment was ok however we did not have acceptable heating. When we arrived it was 14° and the boiler was off, would have been nice, seeing as it was winter that the heating was on timed for when we were likely to check in. When sorting out the heat we discovered only half the radiators worked. We reported this and was told tips on how to resolve - why should we be the ones sorting it? But we did try and reported it still wasnt working! We were told someone would attend to fix but that never happened. We spent our trip away cold and uncomfortable. For the price we paid I am very disappointed!

We really enjoyed using the local amenities, going on walks along the beach and a train ride to Deal Positive: Location is excellent for high street with many independent shops and eateries We were able to park outside the flat. Walking distance to buses and railway station. Negative: The entrance hall & staircase to the flat had a very unpleasant smell. There was a bag of cleaning materials left in the hall. Both shower heads need a good descale or changing as the water flow was very poor. The ensuite shower door didn't shut. Ice box in the fridge was so iced up we couldn't use it and it's door did not close. This had defrosted by the end of our stay. The blinds at all windows were difficult for us to use and pull down.

Central and comfortable - cleanliness and curtains need attention! See dust on kitchen towel picture Positive: Very central and because it was out of season we were successful with parking. The facilities at the flat were very good, the beds - exceptionally comfortable. Stairs are steep but we like exercise! Negative: On the first evening I felt wheezy - as I do when I get hayfever. I pulled out the sofa and there was a lot of fluffy dust along the skirting board and thick dust on the window sill. The blinds were also very dusty. There was also a used towel under my bed. The blinds (as I have read in several other reviews) are difficult to pull up and down and are too small for the windows allowing light in down the sides. I phoned the agents and they were very receptive, offering to send back the cleaner. We didn’t want the bother but these issues really need to be addressed. It’s and shame when so much was good about the accommodation.

Very lovely appartment only a few minutes walk from seashore and an easy short walk into main town - shops and buses. Well equipped, clean, and very useful information provided. I got a sense owners had put a lot of thought into providing a welcoming and comfortable place to stay.

Good location but the property condition was very disappointing. Positive: Very convenient position for walking into Whitstable Negative: Property very poorly maintained with a broken shower door, toilet seat not properly fitted. Generally a poor state of cleaning.

A pleasant flat in a very well kept area of Whitstable which met all of our needs Positive: The beds were extremely comfortable and ye kitchen was well equipped. It was within a 10 minute walk from the train station and only 5 minutes from the beach! Negative: The shower door in the en-suite bathroom was broken at the bottom and there was a lack of bins in the bedroom and lounge room. The blinds were fiddly to open and close so I decided to leave them shut for all of our stay

Positive: The location is perfect and flat had everything we need. Parked was fine and loads of local places to visit within short walking distance.

Enjoyable, but cleanliness let the property down Positive: The beds were comfortable and the lounge was nice to relax in. Negative: The cleanliness of the property, particularly the kitchen. The en-suite shower head needs to be descaled, and better blinds in the bedrooms which actually stop light coming in.

The location was great and the apartment would be a lovely place to stay if cleaned. Positive: There was a good amount of room for 4 people though there were only 2 of us staying there. The beds were comfortable and all the linen was clean. There is sufficient cutlery and crockery. The apartment is very close to the High Street and an easy walk to the beach. Negative: The apartment needs a very good clean! The shelves were greasy and dusty. The blind cords were twisted and difficult to pull down. The shower door, in the en-suite, at the bottom had a rubber connector which been pulled apart and needed to be connected again. The parking can be difficult as it seems like people prefer to park in Nelson Street rather than a car park. It was a pity about the cleanliness as it is a very nice apartment. The checking in was difficult as well because the computer had not accepted my check in details. After 40 minutes a lady on the phone, managed to with her computer, get the key lock number for us.

Whitstable brilliant, restaurants very good, accommodation proximity to everything great. Positive: Very close to Whitstable High Street. Beds and lounge comfortable. Deceptively spacious. Two bathrooms, one en-suite. Dishwasher. Negative: Hot water was not working for the first night. This was resolved next day when our 2nd msg to the owner/management Co asked us to check various possibilities A switch behind microwave had been turned off by someone, not ourselves. Stairs up to first floor was a bit steep for my friend who has slight arthritis in one knee. It was very hot weather during our stay and the bedrooms, particularly the back bedroom were like a greenhouse. We took our own fan but we should’ve taken two. We would have appreciated a dish cloth or similar to wipe down kitchen surfaces when needed. Back bedroom toilet is quite tight for someone of average build. Parking can be difficult as people park in the road to save on parking fees. I could usually find a space around 7/8pm.

Positive: Beliggenhet og rolig nabolag! Godt utstyrt kjøkken. Negative: Synes det var dårlig renhold. Badene var ikke tilfredsstillende. Sluk i badekar var tett, og dusj var skittent. Kjøkkenet, og spesielt rundt komfyr kunne vært vasket bedre!

Dirty and tired The property wasn’t well cleaned. There was a thick layer of dust coating surfaces and some areas had dead flies and other debris. The dishwasher had old food in the bottom. Everywhere looks tired and in need of painting, chipped paint and scuffed everywhere. It smelt musty on arrival. Location is great, shower is good and the property is really well equipped.Just needs updating and cleaning. Also couldnt get a response when I fed back about the cleaning issues.

Perfect place for a few days, spacious apartment with everything you need. Beds were comfortable. The only downsides for me were the lack of curtains in the bedrooms as the blinds do not block out the light, and the bathroom sinks could do with unblocking as they do not drain well.

Very nice though a little impersonal Positive: Very convenient location. Close to the beach and town. Comfortable with plenty of space and appliances. Negative: The communication was very impersonal and often automated, handled by a company with very little personal touch. Also if you a looking for a little flexibility on check out they have very strict very early check out time

Excellent location in the heart of Whitstable Positive: Excellent location, big front room and comfortable beds Negative: The communication from the company was excessive. They sent me far too many emails which were all basically about the same thing. The bathrooms are also quite tight

Although we didn’t spend a lot of time in the property we liked it. I Negative: It would be better if a bath mat was available when stepping out of the shower. It is dangerous stepping out of the shower onto a wood floor. We ended up putting a towel on the floor to stand on. We also felt the rooms needed a freshen up.

It suited us because it was so close to my daughter. Little things would add enormously to the stay. Positive: Great location for us. Negative: Could have been a lot cleaner. And it would be nice to have some connection with the hosts.

Light and airy, generously proportioned, clean and comfortable home, perfect location Positive: Light everywhere, neighbourhood view from the lounge, great t.v. options, fast wifi, 2 bathrooms, well laid out kitchen, beautiful art on the walls, ceiling music in kitchen, very clean and spacious.

Positive: Spacious living room, rooms are a decent size but bathroom are rather small. Negative: They will ask for extra payment for insurance, and rhis is not made completely clear from the start. If i knew this, I wouldn't have booked. Fiddly window, and rooms cannon be entirely dark. The flat is accessible through a steep narrow stairs entrance.

Lovely apartment but not happy with policy changes with Booking.com Positive: Location excellent Negative: I would like to express my concerns over this booking and very late changes to your guidelines This booking was arranged well before my holiday began. I received confirmation of my booking and a form which clearly states I had to pay a waiver of GBP250 on arrival for any damages and not beforehand. I did not receive any emails from your Company until two days after my arrival in the UK and had no access to the internet and was unaware of the changes that had been made. I obviously had this amount readily available on the day, to pay as stated and, upon arriving at the premises there was no-one there to pay and I had to retrieve my Booking form and number to contact your Company outside the premises and was given the following information There was no mention of a GBP25 non-refundable deposit including administration costs on any correspondence received from you of which I feel I had already paid for in my booking, nor to my agreeing to transfer GBP250 direct from my credit card in any emails, which I was requested to do on the day of my arrival to gain entry with the number code. The young lady refused my entry unless I agreed to either of the above I eventually paid the GBP25 as to pay from my credit card and receive a refund in 14 days would have incurred me a different and much more expensive rate with the currency exchange between British pounds and Australian dollars Whilst I was very happy with the accommodation, I am not at all sure I will use Booking.com in the future when changes to your policy at the very last-minute covering costs for damaged goods is the way in which these bookings are conducted. I should have been informed of this in order to make a clarified decision as to how this would be paid. Being a respectable and conscientious female in someone else’s home there were no damages to anything within the apartment when I left I look forward to your reply and reimbursement Yours faithfully

Great little place, great location. Positive: Decent enough, did the trick. Nothing too fancy but slept comfortably and had all the necessary amenities Negative: slightly dated decor but this wasn't an issue as we enjoyed our stay there and had more than enough positives. Parking was very difficult, ended up parking in a car park close by - 30ish quid for 24 hours

Nice property in great location Positive: It was a decent comfortable property in a good location. Negative: The toilet in the main bathroom was a little cramped and there was mould around the bath which could have been removed easily really. The blinds in the property didn’t really block out the sun light in the early mornings. Could have done with a wardrobe

Good house. Terrible booking and check-in experiece Positive: Fairly speaking, the flat itself is good, clean and tidy. The location is good, 3 mins to the sea, although parking around sometimes could be very busy especially over the weekend. The bed is not too soft which we like, so slept well. The sitting room is spacious. The dining table is a bit unusual. it’s a big rectangular one right beside the wall, so felt a bit strange when we had meals together, as two of us were facing the wall. However this is not a big issue, and others might like this layout. Wipe cloth, sponge, washing liquid, toilet rolls were all provided. The kitchen has enough cutleries and cooking pans for four of us. Some basic cooking ingredients like black pepper, salt and some herbs were provided. There is a dishwasher but we didn’t use. Negative: The agency is a nightmare. My booking confirmation says £250 refundable deposit, but I was asked for £300 & £10 admin fee for processing it. I told them this wasn’t said on the confirmation which is the contract between us and which they should follow! one of their staff initially recognised this and apologised, but next day this same person ask £300 deposit again like nothing happened! I was totally shocked. I contacted the agency’s customer service, but was only told “sorry, our deposit has now increased to £300”. This is too unreliable and tricky. I couldn’t trust them to pay full deposit and went for the damage waiver eventually (extra £30, NOT refundable). We still rate 7, cos it would be unfair for the house itself if we give 1.

Lovely property - shame about the letting agents. Positive: The property itself was great & in a fantastic location Negative: At the point of booking the total price of the reservation was paid up front, non-refundable. So imagine my surprise when a week before the trip I was told I had to pay a further £25 before check-in instructions would be provided. This was to cover potential damage - but no mention of this was made at the point of booking. I refused to pay it as it wasn't part of our contractual arrangement & Host & Stay agreed to waive it. But the following day they changed their mind & tried to insist it was payable. Again I refused to pay it & they eventually agreed to waive it. So if they haven't changed their stanve be aware that "Host & Stay" will try to rip you off for £25 before agreeing to provide check in details.

Well-positioned but needs some TLC Positive: It is a well-positioned flat - handy for the beach, high street and buses. The living room was roomy and there was plenty of light. The heating was very efficient. Negative: Asking for extra money for insurance for damages after confirmation is cheeky (if not unethical). All costs should be up front. In light of this it was disappointing to find chipped mugs and plates as well as damaged kitchen surfaces. The kitchen was not as clean as expected.

Positive: The apartment was very light and airy. Beds were comfortable. Location was brilliant, everything is a short walk away. Negative: The whole place was very dusty. Would benefit from having a washing machine.

The accommodation was in a great location to explore the delights of Whitstable. Good size and comfortable beds. Nice and quiet area. Would come again.

We absolutely loved our stay! They are clear pros, the pre-trip email had a mini website to reference. Onsite there’s a great manual, and check out the same online resources. It was immaculately clean and the Netflix amenity was welcomed with the nice selection of books. No faults at all. The fridge is smaller, so take a peek before you commit to groceries. It was perfect for us. We’ll be back and will happily rebook here.
