Runswick Bay is situated within the Sandbeck, a large, fully renovated seafront Victorian house located on Whitby’s West Cliff overlooking the beach and outer harbour. It proudly boasts the best apartments, studios and guest rooms in Whitby with the best sea views.

About this property

Runswick Bay is a newly renovated light and spacious one-bedroom sea view apartment with entrance hall, a large open plan lounge/kitchen, bedroom with double bed and single bed, plus a large shower room. A delightful couple, friends or Triple family apartment.

This fabulous ground floor apartment has not one but two big picture Victorian bay windows. The large Victorian bay windows offer two separate areas, one for eating with built in bench seats and a dining table ready for fine dining and one to kick back and relax drink in hand with padded bench seats, tables and foot stools.

The industrial themed apartment has a spacious open plan lounge/kitchen with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable sofa, coffee table and Smart TV.

Walk into the bedroom and you will find a double bed and a single bed suitable for a small family, couples or friends. Attached is a large ensuite shower room with a large walk-in Shower, WC and LED Mirror over a wash basin.

The area

The Sandbeck is on the seafront of Whitby’s West Cliff. It is in a central location for the beach, harbour and many of Whitby’s attractions. It is a short walk to Captain Cook’s Monument and the Famous Whalebones overlooking the harbour.

Walk a little further and down the Khyber Pass steps and you’ll be at the harbour and the quayside with all its amusements, cafes, bars and famous fish and chips shops and restaurants. Alternatively take a stroll along the West Pier and look back at your accommodation on the West Cliff.

To the front is the path down to the Blue Flag West Cliff beach and the Whitby Pavilion with its many events.

The town centre and all its shops, cafes and restaurants are close by.

Whitby is easily accessible by road and rail, making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking to explore the nearby coastal villages, or simply relax and enjoy the tranquil seaside atmosphere, Whitby offers something for everyone.

Whitby Train Station is located in the town centre and has direct services to Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool, Seaham, Sunderland, Newcastle, Prudhoe and Hexham.

Several bus routes operate in Whitby offering direct access to Guisborough, Leeds, Loftus, Middlesbrough, Scarborough and York.

Teesside International Airport is 45 miles away from Whitby.

“A great two night stay with my friend in a fab location Positive: Loved everything about the Runswick Bay apartment, the location and sea views from the bay windows were lovely, the decor was of great quality and the cleaning was spotless. Home from home, dishwasher tablets, dish cloth, t towel, loo roll, hand wash all in the apartment too. Loved the £2.50 car parking scratch card for Zone W, saved us alot of money as the long stay car park is around 12 for 24hours Negative: the windows on the outside could have been a bit cleaner but it wasnt an issue and didnt spoil the view at all.”
