Great location. Stains on the carpets but acceptable due to it being pet friendly. very reasonably priced.

Lovely big apartment. Great location. Bed comfy and towels and linen white and fresh. Kitchen modern and clean. The only thing that let it down was the stained carpets and general cleanliness. TV unit had also seen better days. Could do with a general deep clean and freshen up. Another thing to be aware of when booking is that the property is accessed by a steep narrow staircase which is a bit tricky with bags and a dog but we managed ok.

Lovely couple of days with the family in a nice apartment for the price. Would recommend. Positive: Location and price excellent. Apartment large modern and spacious for four adults and a dog. Nice decor and well equipped kitchen. Negative: Some radiators didn't work on arrival but someone did come quickly to rectify. The frying pan hadn't been cleaned from previous occupants. We ended up with a parking fine...Beware the zone on the street closest to apartment is not for the permit.

Great location but the flat was mucky. Had dog hair on the floors, scuff marks so hadn’t been mopped. Thick dust on the shelves and lights and black mould on the windows. It is a great location but was mucky which ruined our one and only night stay there

Bright & Welcoming Apartment in a fantastic central location close to all amenities. Positive: We loved the Apartment`s location. It's very spacious & clean and dog friendly which was an added bonus. Negative: The host could have provided a few little extras like washing up liquid, scourer, more than 1 dishwasher tablet, dust pan & brush & more loos rolls for 4 guests.

Disappointed Positive: Had it been cleaned, the apartment would be basic but OK. The central location was ideal. Negative: On arrival, there was not a single sheet of toilet paper anywhere (not great when you arrive late on a Friday night), a.nd the room was full of dog hair, on the settee, all over laminate floors and on carpets in every bedroom. Coffee machine covered in dust with one coffee pod to share between four of us. Further more no sign of parking permit that was promised, and just to cap the weekend off on Saturday night, the TV cabinet fell off the wall. Luckily, nobody was injured.

I wouldn’t recommend this for a young family to stay in due to the tight access. The location was fine but the issue was around the poor cleanliness of the property which forced us to eat out a lot more than expected as we didn’t want to be there more than needed.

A wonderful stay for family with a child Positive: Fantastic apartment for our short stay in Whitby. Great location, facilities and customer engagement. Quite possibly the best stay we have had in Whitby and we have stayed a number of times. Best nights sleep too. Negative: My only negative comment would be something the accommodation providers can do little about. Parking in the zone on your complimentary ticket was a real challenge. Spaces close by were impossible to come by so I would advise to pack light or use the public car park on back St Hilda's street which is only a short walk away.

Good location, comfortable, could do with a freshen up. Positive: The location was great, comfortable stay. Negative: There was no scratch card for parking on arrival and this wasn’t resolved until the next day meaning we had to pay for parking which is a bit disappointing when you’re expecting it to be included and on check in they ask how you will be travelling so they were aware we would need a scratch card. The cabinet below the TV is broken, looks like it is missing two legs which caused it to bow in the middle. We had a toddler with us and were worried this would collapse onto him. There were a lot of stains on the carpets and sofa which would have come up with a carpet cleaner.

Acceptable but needs deep clean. Poor access Positive: Overall acceptable. Good size bedrooms. Poor cleanliness really let's the place down. Also lots of bits that need freshening up like the carpets and flooring in the bathroom. Negative: Place had clearly only gets superficially cleaned between guests. Badly in need of deep clean-cobwebs all over the light fittings, dusty, blind in main bedroom didn't close properly, carpets need cleaning and flooring in bathroom very scruffy. Entrance hall very messy...looks like a student bedsit with piles of unopened mail. I don't think it was clear how difficult access would be from the information online when we booked. Street very small and no car access to even drop stuff, very steep stairs inside front door. Very tricky to get large cases up and buggy/pram access would be very difficult.

Avoid Positive: Beds were comfortable and bedding actually looked clean. Location good, but parking bit of a nightmare to find as the 'W' zones with the permit are a bit further from the property and often full. Negative: We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Routh Walk in Whitby. I am not one to complain but I am so disappointed with the deception of the lovely photos of this place. Firstly, it says this is a ground floor apartment, which is isn't it is up a steep staircase which my mum struggled with due to a knee injury, people have even asked in the Q+A section about this as they are disabled and the property has had the audacity to reply saying it is ground floor. The biggest issue we had was the total lack of cleanliness of the place. On entering the steep stairs up to the property you're met with stained carpets and an awful musty smell. Then entering the property you're met with yet more stained carpets. The amount of reviews stating this from even a couple of years ago and yet the owners clearly haven't done anything about it is pure laziness. All the surfaces were covered in dust and cobwebs all over the ceiling, fabric sofa stained and dirty looking. The toilet seat was dirty and the lino in the bathroom floor was absolutely filthy, we put a baby wipe over it and the amount of dirt that easily came up from it just speaks volumes on the shear laziness and money making hosts of this property. The overall cleanliness was awful but these were the main issues. There was also no hot water in the property (luckily the shower was electric so all fine) it states on the property guide to turn the emersion heater on when you arrive, but with no instructions on how to find this. I am really disappointed with this stay, you expect more from a company that owns multiple properties, but clearly it is just a money making scheme for them and they don't care about ensuring guests have a comfortable stay. £70 of the booking cost is a CLEANING fee might I add, yet we had to somewhat clean it when we got there to make it liveable, disgusting.

Lovely apartment to stay in Whitby for our Christmas break. Positive: The location was ideal. Negative: To be honest it was pretty much what we were expecting so to say there was something we didn’t like wouldn’t be fair

Overall, worthy the money Positive: Beds were very comfortable. Specious. Nice Day light. Parking ticket was given, which was the most exclusive. Negative: Carpet was not clean enough on the corridor. Cooking pan was with so much damage that could not use it. Used shampoo packets and a towel was left from previous guest I think. Toilet papers was given but used toilet roll was left on the toilet

Negative: Stained main hall way carpet on entering property - more stained than last year. Tv was not linked to wiifi network only able to watch BBC1. Reported problem but noone came to sort. Shower door handle loose and shower bar rail loose on wall as was last year and power very poor.

Positive: Bed was comfy, good location Negative: The apartment was filthy skirting boards were thick with dirt. Under the settee cushions had dirt and dog hairs underneath. As you walked in the stairs carpet was black with muck. There was one coat hanger no where to hang clothes. The blinds in one bedroom did not shit flush so let in bright light and were thick with dust.. The shower had black mould near the door and the grouting was dirty. The walls were dirty the door frames all chipped and dirty. I am very disappointed as this apartment was advertised as luxury when it was far from luxury

Positive: Spacious modern apartment. Great location, comfy beds. Negative: The WiFi wasn't brilliant. We had a lot of messing about trying to get the television to work and had to try and re tune it every time we wanted it on.

The property was lovely and clean . The check in process was easy and parking close by . Was an overall lovely stay !

Positive: Great location. Spacious apartment with all the amenities you could need. The included parking and the tea and coffee was a nice, unexpected touch, but some milk would have been very much appreciated. There's a newsagents across the road so wasn't a big deal. Very helpful staff (online) - we had a few questions during our stay and when we messaged them we received an answer more or less straight away every time. Kitchen and bathroom very clean! Negative: In general, it wasn't the cleanest place. There were stains on the carpet, scuff marks on the walls and all of the surfaces (shelves/desk) were covered in dust. The booking in process was tedious after a long drive. You have to phone a number to get the code for the key safe sent to you but this took us just under 45 minutes. I would recommend phoning them on route. Also, if you have a dog the closest grass area for them to have a wee is around a 2 minute walk away which can be a pain in the middle of the night!

Easy checkin, Then it all went wrong..coffee mug with lipstick on it in cupboard..carpets need a clean..dirty mouldy bedding..broken slats on both beds..dirty windows, covered in cobwebs and dead insects..incomplete first aid kit..no parking permit..no hand soap..no lock on toilet door.

We chose this property as it stated there was free parking via a scratch card, but there was no scratch card & considering it was 9pm, pouring with rain and the end of a 5 hour drive this was extremely annoying. It's a one way system outside and so I had to drive about to find a pay & display car park & walk back. I contacted the host and they said that a person with a scratch card would be at the apartment by 9am the following day, and no one came - so I had to use the local pay & display car park for the remainder of our weekend - no refund from host as yet! It states that the TV is a 'smart tv' - but it doesn't connect to the Wi-Fi so we only had the basic channels. It states it hosts 4 people and a fully equipped kitchen but only 1 wine glass & 3 breakfast bowls. Host's package states you get coffee pods - no coffee pods. Only 4 tea bags and 2 milk sachets too. Don't rely on free parking, tea, milk and toiletries as these are the very bare minimum. Great location though!

Positive: Location was good close to centre, size of rooms were good, nice kitchen. Beds very comfortable Negative: We entered the property up a flight of stairs which were steep, for us not a problem but some people may struggle. Opened the front door the carpet was full of stains it needs a deep clean or replacing, the place wasn't very clean there was a dirty pair of socks on the floor under the sofa , lots of crumbs and rubbish under sofa cushions, the bathroom was dirty skirting boards were very dusty, and a lot of hair in the shower, only one toilet roll left for a four night stay. One bedroom had no hanging space or drawers for clothes the other had a rail but only 2 coat hangers. The blinds in the bedroom let in light so awake as soon as the sun comes up. We could only watch sky on the TV, could not connect to Netflix and YouTube. The kitchen lacked essentials , no frying pan, no washing up liquid or scourer to clean pots, it does have a dishwasher but only 2 dishwasher tabs left this place could be beautiful with a bit of attention a deep clean and better facilities if all this was done we would stay again but as it is definitely would not stay again

Positive: Comfortable Bed. Negative: There was no permit as promised so that cost 33 pound for the 3 nights . Nothing on fridge door to put milk in . Blind in on of the bedrooms wouldn't come down therefore pure daylight at 8am shining in eyes.

Would stay again as ideal location Positive: Great central location for getting out and about. In a nice side street with no access to cars so very quiet. Close to lots of shops/cafes etc. All amenities are available for the stay and comfortably accommodates 4 adults with plenty of space. Parking scratch cards left in the property which cover the whole stay too (just cannot park near property) Negative: Not the cleanest of places. (Toilet bowl dirty with grime, shelves covered in dust and carpets dirty/stained) The communal hallway smelt strongly of damp and the carpet heavily stained but a note up to say had a recent leak which explains it. Beds comfy but broken slats so end of the bed dips down which isn’t ideal.

Suitable for young people but not conducive for older people who might have mobility issues. Positive: The unit itself was well set out, beds were comfortable Negative: The street access was dirty, stairs were very steep, location was hard to find, there were no instructions on how to use the shower, parking was a nightmare even with the permit.

Grubby Positive: Location Negative: Bedding was stained and dirty. Took several calls and emails to get replacement bedding after three days. Whole place did not look like it had been cleaned between lettings. Also one of the bedroom blinds would not close so no chance of a lie in once sun rose

Great location, great stay Positive: Location, layout of property, cleanliness and kitchen fittings / appliances. The property was very comfortable and had all we needed for our stay. Some minor issues (more maintenance matters) Negative: The long shelf in the lounge appears to be sagging in the middle (appears legs missing?). Carpets a little dirty (but had been cleaned)

Avoid avoid avoid! Positive: It was in Whitby. Negative: First of all the guy who was messaging me told me there were scratch cards for parking zone W in the apartment. On entrance there were no scratch cards,then I received another message to say there was no scratch cards but there was chargeable car parks nearby. Ok i would have been fine with that if it had been made clear from the outset instead it added another £20 to already steep fees. The apartment is grubby,it smells awful,the hall carpet is stained and smelly,and despite many many reviews saying the same and the response being that they will clean it,it clearly falls on deaf ears. The skirting boards are dirty, there were fingerprints on the sky box and the unit under the tv is bowed in the middle. The sofa is tiny,and uncomfortable and the whole place felt unkempt. There is a clothes unit in 2nd bedroom but no hangers on which to hang clothes and only a tiny dresser drawer that was full of make up debris so basically it's live out of a suitcase. The entrance to the property is accessible by a set of deep, dirty carpeted stairs. I've paid a lot less for a lot better in other places. Please save your money and book elsewhere.

Positive: It was close to town Negative: The place needs a full up grade the entrance was damp and smelt terrible the stair carpet was wet the flat needs a good clean and painting threw out.there was cobwebs everywhere in the living room the bathroom vent needs cleaning please get proper size quilts for the beds not a double for a king-sized bed???

Positive: Location and the facilities

Overall would recommend Positive: The location is great. Make sure you park in the W parking area. The road outside is H and the parking permit is not valid there. You are provide with everything you need for your stay. Towels, shampoo and soap. Coffee and tea making facilities too. The apartment does need a good clean, the carpets were quite stained but the beds and bedding was very clean. For the price I would highly recommend. 5 mins walk from the centre. Host excellent. Negative: Carpets very stained but beds comfy and clean.

Positive: Bed was really comfortable. The apartment was laid out nice Negative: Parking facilities, carpets heavily stained, no toilet rolls, no dishcloth. Very confusing directions to the keysafe . Passer by helped us to locate the key as its not numbered or named well

Relaxing and lovely

Very nice place in a good location. Could do with a sensor light out the front as pitch black at night. Could also do with some lamps as only has big lights. Communication was very good until we checked in and then as soon as we checked in did not hear anything else. The apartment was freezing when we arrived you could tell the heating had not been on for days and it took 2 full days to get warm, we had to sleep with two duvets and fully clothed on night 1 as it was absolutely freezing. The bathroom radiator never worked and we did message saying that on two occasions but got no reply. Very nice place but would not stay again due to the heating issues.

Stayed for 2 nights in February, the flat is ideally located for easy access to the town, only a 5 minute walk down to the harbour or beach. The flat is set back off the main street so was a bit quieter at night. Had a good stay and a great weekend.

Had a fabulous time in Whitby and would book the same accommodation if issues with cleanliness and clean furniture and c Positive: Fantastic location, comfortable beds Negative: Arrived at the apartment and found a set of very steep stairs to climb up to entrance., used toiletries had been left in staircase. Stair carpet looked like it hadn’t been hoovered for months. Opened apartment door to a filthy passage carpet. There were stains on the sofa, cobwebs on the light fittings, bathroom Lino very grubby and lifting in places, grouting around tiles at bottom of shower were black. Finally when turning on the hair dryer there was no sound but the element inside glowed red then heard a popping noise! There was a smell of burning and it became too hot to hold! On closer inspection the hair dryer had not been PAT tested since 2023!!!!! The apartment need a good clean, new carpets, Lino and a new hair dryer!!! What I don’t understand is that lots of users have already commented on the above over the last year so why has nothing been done???

Overall the flat was functional and adequate . It was generally clean and bedding was clean. Negative: Didn’t like the parking issues - The carpet was very stained and looked dirty Didn’t like having to pay £25 for insurance when we arrived. And the TV was not easy to work.

Positive: It was in a good position. Negative: The fact that you had to buy an insurance against damage bond and only find out how much it cost after payment which you weren't able to cancel. Also there is a flight of steep stairs up to the flat which was hard to navigate. The windows in the bedroom was very narrow and would be difficult to climb out of if there was a fire, the fire blanket in the kitchen has not been folded away properly. There is a chip in the bathroom sink and the hall carpet is stained.

Excellent apartment and location but cleanliness is an issue. Positive: Excellent modern, comfortable apartment in terms of layout, location and facilities. Generally clean and well presented (apart from a couple of key areas). Negative: The hallway carpet to the apartment is filthy - it really should be replaced with hard flooring as per the kitchen/lounge. It’s a bad first impression. Also the sofa is dirty in places. The shower is quite weak which isn’t helped by the fact that the hose was broken and the red piece of electrician’s tape that was wrapped around it didn’t really help. You can get a new hose for about £5 so I’m not sure why this hadn’t been attended to.

Routh walk Positive: Location was perfect. Modern apartment, everything you need Negative: Not very clean. A flight of stairs as soon as you enter the doorway.

The apartment was lovely and modern. However the standard of cleaning was poor Positive: Very modern. Liked the app for the welcome and info Negative: Standard of cleaning was poor. Bathroom in particular felt dirty. The lino was ingrained with stains and hadnt been cleaned around the door and bin where there was hair and dirt. Also there was a stale smell of cigarettes in the bathroom that lingered and never went away. We are not smokers and this had an even bigger impact on us.

Don't bother renting Routh Lane Positive: The fact that the flat was in a good vicinity to everything we wanted to do it was good not having to use the car for a few days Negative: The flat was dirty and slightly musky smelling. Wr got the impression that the cleaners just come in walk round and then go. The settee was stained the telly didn't work. To say it had been updated well it hasn't been touched for years. There was thick dust on all the skirting boards the carpets were dirty the tap in the kitchen didn't run hot water. The bed we slept in was broken.personally I think the company had a cheek asking for 250.00 pounds we certainly will not be using that business again the outside of the flat had been used as a giant ashtray somebody had left rubbish bags outside the flat seagulls attacked it and rubbish was strewn all over the place

Overall l liked our stay and would come again Positive: The property has been recently modernised with nice flooring and wall tiles and was very quiet and comfortable, we don’t cook when we go away but the kitchen looked more than adequate. Negative: Little things like loose toilet seat and no curtains to block the morning light, let the place down a bit.

Nice cozy apartment, very well situated in town centre, close to shops pubs and restaurants. Owner provided parking discs so it is worthy to check good spot to park before accommodation. I recommend without a doubt.

Negative: My only small gripe is that there was no scratch card for parking in the apartment despite asking ahead for this. Same happened when we stayed there before but we didn’t need it that time. It was delivered when I rang though.
