Cottage was good value and provided the accommodation we needed for catching up with family in the area. It was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The High St and food shops and restaurants were very convenient and close by. Scenery in the area is outstanding. The en-suite in main bedroom is very small but still useful at night! Overall we were very comfortable in the property and would come again.

The property is roomy, with lots of space for a family of 4 with two older children. The kitchen is well equipped and there are several great coffee shops and restaurants to eat nearby. Stokesley is a great place to stay with a dog; lots of great walks nearby and Whitby only 45 mins away.

Lovely, cosy cottage and much more spacious than expected. Very quiet yet so close to the centre of Stokesley which is a lovely town with lots of restaurants and pubs. The bedrooms were spacious with extremely comfortable beds. We had a great family weekend away and a bonus that we were able to bring the dog. Everything we needed was provided and Charlie from Host&stay was very friendly and communicative before our stay…thank you!

We had a lovely weekend with Family . The cottage was very clean and tidy and was very well laid out . We especially liked having two bathrooms and living rooms . The village was just outside the cottage door , lovely for a morning walk to the local coffee shops for breakfast . Brilliant communication from the host . Would love to visit again . Thankyou for making our family break a special one xx

Perfect location for a short break. We will definitely consider staying at this cottage again. Positive: When we are travelling with children and my elderly father, bathrooms seem to be rather important. This property has a full bathroom upstaris and another upstairs as well as a converted wardrobe in the master bedroom that has a toilet and sink (much to the amusement of our children). Nice, enclosed accessible outdoor/decked area at the back of the property. Great to have a second lounge. gave the children their own space (would be even better if this room could have a TV in though) Nice clean towels and bedding. Negative: The parking wasn't really accessible for us on this trip. There is a small lane (mud with grass down the centre) that was water logged and we didn't want to chance getting our car stuck. We parked on the High Street over night and moved the car at 8am each morning. (Overnight is fine, and then with a parking permit - available in many of the shops on the High Street, free of charge, you can park for 2 hours.) The cottage is an old property and as such, has a few dents and marks (including on doors and carpets). I was initially worried that we could have been blamed for these as there's no mention when the deposit it taken. The kitchen could do with a bit of a sort out. It's as if someone has bought huge amounts from a charity shop or has inherited lots of old crockery and left it in the cottage. Six of everything would be plenty (therefore leaving space in the kitchen to put food) rather than having 20 dinner plates, side plates, bowls of different sizes etc etc.

Great stay in a brilliant location. seconds away from the high St. We were a family of 6. 4 adults and a 5 and 7 year old. Ample space for us all. Property looks small from the outside but it's actually very roomy and clean. Definitely a home from home stay. 2 big bathrooms with bath a d shower and a 3rd toilet in the middle bedroom strategically located in the wardrobe space! Great idea! Lots of local info in the property. Excellent communication with the hosts. No problem with parking. Brilliant stay overall!

We stayed for four nights family of 6 with our dogs and had a relaxing time. The cottage is cosy and very comfortable. The beds were very comfy and the home itself was very clean and tidy. It was a short walk away from shops and restaurants. Had such a lovely stay we hope to stay there again. Super cottage I definitely recommend this place to people.

Good value, central location , ok house, not a great garden due to unwashed/ shabby outdoor furniture making it unus Positive: Location very central. It’s clearly been modernised with new bathrooms and re repurposed kitchen. Comfortable beds and quality bed linen and towels, spacious Negative: No Washington machine! And we were the support team for two walking the coast to coast path, picking them up after six days on their own and needed clean clothes… my fault for not checking this as a standard provision! Garden, though has been paved and fenced, wasn’t well furnished or clean, dirty dog bowls by the bench. Internal doors and exposed pipe work made it look a bit shabby .

Upstairs was fine. 3 clean bedrooms with comfortable beds. Downstairs carpet and furniture were filthy with pet marking. Host promised to clean, then wrote to say the carpet could not be cleaned during our 3 night stay. Spent the 2nd night elsewhere to allow the Host to clean. Hosy refused to refund, Airbnb intervened.

Loveley place, nice cosy property with parking space. Positive: Loveley location. Car parking space. Very cosy property. Nice kitchen and bathroom. Overall superb value for money. Negative: nothing. The weather wasn't great

The property is extremely well-located in the heart of Stokesly, a lovely market town with a selection of pubs, restaurants and cafe's. Overall the cottage provides good value accommodation and a decent amount of space, but I'd echo some of the other reviews in that we felt the property could do with a deep clean & a bit of tlc. Also a washing machine would be a good addition, however it didn't list as having one so that oversight was on us. The hosts communication was excellent throughout.

Positive: The cottage is very well situated and has a lot of character. Negative: There were no wardrobes or cupboard space in two of the bedrooms which made it difficult to store clothes and suitcases. We had rented for 6 people but there were only 3 mugs in the kitchen. We were each given a bath towel but not a hand towel- there was only one in each bathroom. There was a tiny tablet of soap at each handbasin but no other toiletries at all were available. We felt it was a shame as these small details that could be easily solved would have made a difference. .

We had a fabulous time here! The cottage was set in a perfect location in the town and the rooms were very big! The beds were super comfortable and clean and ample amounts of room for 6 guests! We will be staying here again! Thank you !

We have stayed here a couple of times now and would without doubt stay again the Cottage has such a cosy homely feel and met all our requirements including restaurants lovely bars and shops within 5 minutes walk maximum ...Parking was painless even with two vehicles...

Perfect accommodation Positive: Perfect location for our coast to coats walk and accessible to the Stokesley high street . Which has everything you need for a weeks stay. House was clean and comfortable, especially the beds so we all had a good night's rest. Would highly recommend booking this accommodation Negative: Nothing to be honest

Beautiful cottage, very tastefully decorated. Cosy and comfortable. We were disappointed that there were no Christmas decorations since we came from Holland to spend Christmas in Engeland (and had asked about this especially way in advance). And the rental was almost twice the amount during Christmas. That's why otherwise small niggles got bigger now. Like the Nespresso coffee machine not working, no kitchen linnen, only one dishwasher tablet and one toilet roll per toilet, and one bathroom floor not clean. And communication felt a bit like talking to chat gpt.

Very comfortable and well furnished home. Easy walk to shops and restaurants if required. Ideal location for our walking plans on Cleveland Way.

I loved how this house had so much accommodation for our whole group. I felt the layout suited our needs well. The owners have made many thoughtful touches. Staying here allowed us to enjoy the North York Moors and Stokesley.

Stokesley stay A lovely roomy property, like a tardis with lots of hidden corners with plenty of room for a family with teenagers. So nice to find a property that isn’t just double beds as my kids won’t share! It’s in a great location in the village just round the corner from an amazing chippy. Also great for exploring the local area; Roseberry topping is just down the road, as is Osmotherley and even the coast. Loved our stay and would book again.

Great for exploring. Positive: Comfortable,spacious home, 3 bedrooms, 2 lounges, 2 bathrooms and a toilet in a cupboard! well equipped. Heating had been left on for us so it was cosy and warm. Designated parking space is a good thing. Good location for exploring. Recommendation for eating out…. Chapters deli/ bistro. Negative: We had problems in that we found the door to the cottage but couldn’t open the key safe. Then after much trying we decided to try the back door. Found it difficult to identify which was the right cottage from the back as there was no sign or anything to help. Rang host and stay people who then tried several times unsuccessfully to contact the owner. Eventually we took a guess at which cottage it was and we were able to locate a second key safe which we could open! The cottage was generally clean but could do with attention in certain areas, ie skirting boards, cobwebs, nooks and crannies and paintwork.

I was very happy with my two day stay Positive: Privacy, Location and convenience for shops and restaurants Negative: I never did crack getting in to the front door lock box. However it did not matter as I used the rear entrance most of the time and there was a spare front door key inside the cottage when I entered at the back. I never did find the plates in the kitchen , but I am sure they must be there somewhere and my problem not yours

Very enjoyable, will book again. Positive: A good size and great location. Negative: The door in the main bedroom didn't shut so rattled a lot when people walked on the landing. Lock box is temperamental and tricky to Open but did get it in the end.

overall good standard some things need replaced leaky kettle and some cob webs. We had a comflrtable stay and had everything we needed and wanted.

Rose Cottage is in a perfect location for our needs when travelling to see friends in the area. We arrived at around 6pm, and struggled to locate the actual parking space for the property. This was mainly because the description talked of double gates. To be clear, the double gates at the back of the row of properties does NOT lead to the parking. This is accessible via an unlit single track. There are no double gates. There is a sign pointing towards Rose Cottage, but given that we arrived at night, this was not immediately visible. I contacted Host & Stay when it became evident there was an issue, but was continually told to access via the double gates. This indicates that the instructions need to be amended. The key safe at the front of the property needs replacing. Other guests have provided this feedback, and it would pay for this to happen for ease of access ratings to improve.

Very comfortable and warm house with good beds and plenty of towels. Good position - very central. Negative: Key safe at front door difficult to open. Had to telephone Host and Stay twice as to how to open it. Second phone call - Ryan - very helpful. No instructions as to how to open back door - eventually discovered there was a button to push and then push the door. However there was a keyhole in door and the key in the key safe didnt fit so rather confusing. Very few instructions in the house as to appliances. Nowhere to store dried goods - owners items in the cupboard and shelves. Fire couldnt be turned on although it was plugged in - is this ornamental? Urine stain on carpet at the bottom of the stairs..

Carpets stained, rugs dirty and old. Not clean like the photos. Pet hair on the chairs, black mould in the bathrooms and the downstairs shower didn’t work.

The house was very comfortable and more than enough room for 6 people. Easy access to the shops and cafes. Lovely village. The parking area for the cottage could be better signposted and the lock box for the keys was tricky to open but otherwise a nice property

The cottage is well paced in Stokesley. We were visiting relatives so know the area well. Plenty of space and general feel of the cottage is good. Parking to the rear and a visitor resident parking accessible all from north street. Generally need a needs a deep clean as some areas dusty and not just from recent guests. Feels homely but too much crockery and stuff in cupboard/sides - just needs decluttering. Some general maintenance would go a long way. Saying this we had a good time and would use again.

The house in it self is very good, the Check in was not good. We did not receive any informations, I phoned to get this info after 16.00 on the day of arrival. And got the informations after, and the automated email with this info did not come automatically until Monday, we checked in Friday. Also the cleanliness was not satisfactory, the carpets were dirty, floor in kitchen still seemed dirty. Bathroom upstairs had mold marks. There is s lot of dust behind the large sofa and by the windows. The extra room downstairs has no heating and is very cold. The twin beds could do with changing. Lovely with parking at the back of the house. Possibly mention in the Check in that there is a sign on North Road to Rose Cottage.

Much enjoyed but not very clean. Had to wash crockery and cutlery before use. Positive: Location good. Not easy to find. Negative: Kitchen tap awful, got wet every time we used it. Couldn’t control heating. No controls by fridge as stated.

Lovely little cottage in Stokesley. We were visiting family who live close by so was perfect. The house was clean, comfy and felt very at home. We will be back in the summer hopefully.

Positive: Very convenient location. Negative: The parking was a little difficult to find. Driveway was a muddy goat track. Coffee pods left for the machine were the wrong size.

Rose Cottage is potentially a great stay. The location is excellent with convenient off street parking. The property is furnished to a high standard and it has a lovely, modern kitchen. Unfortunately it was let down on this occasion by a lack of attention to detail by the management company. We paid a 15% premium over similar properties, expecting to get some extra 'luxury'. We were left disappointed. There were too many small niggles which could easily be avoided. Host & Stay were responsive, but the overall impression was that we should be grateful for what we did get, even though on arrival the 1st thing we had to do was go shopping for what we thought were essentials (like toilet roll). We provided feedback during our stay. Hopefully this will be used to improve the experience for future guests. The niggles didn't put us off enjoying the facilities in walking distance of Rose Cottage, but next time we visit the area we will try one of the other properties, not hosted by Host & Stay

Not one for complaining . But simple jobs could be done to make the stay as they described it . Positive: All was just ok overall Negative: Places were not cleaned . Behind the chair to turn the lamp on . Bathroom door lock broken !!! . Someone locked in for 5 mins (panic ) , simple to replace , a job that could have been done . Got blocked in with parking one day . Then couldn’t park the next day . ( lady in chip shop)

We all had a lovely time and we’re very comfortable. Positive: The position . Negative: Could have been cleaner in parts and oven had never been cleaned looking at the colour of it!!

I spent a lovely few days at Rose Cottage with my sister and niece. We were visiting family in the area and it was located beautifully for us. The cottage had a lovely comfortable lounge, it was maybe a little cluttered with a table in the middle of it and extra chairs. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and bright.

Great guests who communicated very well throughout their stay. We would love to welcome you back in the future!

Great place to stay.

Delightful property, very cosy and comfortable and would recommend. Positive: Very comfortable for three people to have own rooms and great location. Convenient parking nearby on High Street. Stokesley a lovely village. Negative: The key safe by the front door was very difficult to open and needs replacing. The rear safe good. Couldn’t turn on downstairs shower, and a loose tap in en-suite. Also need to be aware of steps up and down into rooms. No instructions re electric fire.

Positive: Lovely area. House was amazing, comfortable beds and comfortable sofas, we were there just for a weekend and enjoyed it.

Mini break Property was very clean and had all the facilities required for a pleasant stay. Booking of property was confusing due to both parties offering damage waivers - started the stay off on wrong foot as paid both. Although, the property itself helped dilute this additional payment.

Great short break in Stockley Our stay at Rose cottage was wonderfull just what we needed. It was tucked just off the High Street so we had all we needed on our door step but very quite.

Positive: Excellent location, close to the High Street in Stokesley

The cottage is in a great location, with lots of lovely eating options and easy access to great places. Positive: the location Negative: the property was ok, but it was very dated, which was ok. the problem was cleanliness, it didn’t feel very clean. The skirting boards were very dusty and the floor of the kitchen area wasn’t clean, as our socks became very dirty straight away. There was stuff everywhere in the kitchen and the tea towel, that had been put out for us had a hair on it and it didn’t feel clean. There was a kitchen brush, next to the sink that was very grubby. The shower in the downstairs bathroom didn’t work and the light switch sometimes didn’t switch on and sometimes didn’t switch off. The second lounge and the bedroom above it were freezing, even with the heating on. The car parking space, is just on mud and no path to the rear of the property.

A good-sized place to stay and enjoy Stokesley Positive: Lovely house for the weekend - bigger than expected with two receptions and decent sized bedrooms. Really great location just of the high street of Stokesley which punches well above it's weight for cafes, pubs and restaurants. Easy drive to the hills. Negative: Parking was a bit odd and down a track that some cars might struggle with. But not a big deal as the road is only 50m away and has plenty of space.

Comfortable and well equipped Very enjoyable stay in a surprisingly roomy terraced property. Quiet location yet very close to centre of Stokesley. High standard of cleaning and equipment. Our only issues were directions to the property, key in the wrong place and a microwave problem. We believe all of these points are being addressed.

The property is fantastically located in the centre of Stokesley. Numerous bars and shops on the doorstep. Lots to do in the local area as well. The photos show the property at it's best and some areas could do with a bit of TLC, but comfortable and functional. Fine for the price.

Lovely cottage in quiet, characterful alleyway convenient for shops and restaurants in the beautiful Yorkshire market town of Stokesley. Cottage is well equipped and is deceptively large on the inside.

A nice place to stay. Very centrally located - just off the Main Street but very quiet. A bit like the Tardis - looks tiny from the outside but a deceptive amount of space inside. Finding the location can be a little tricky - but once you've tracked it down it is a doddle. Clean - comfy - well equipped - would highly recommend it. Would happily stay again

I have tried to be kind with scoring 3/5... This property is in need of maintenance and is very tired throughout. Upon arrival there was what looked like brick dust all over kitchen side that had not been cleaned up after works. The upstairs toilet was broken and needed to remove the toilet top to be able to manually work the flush mechanism There were dirty pots and dishes in cupboards Thick dust on most doors One of the couches looked like it was ready for the tip... all worn and faded The boiler leaked onto the microwave Overall very poor standard & value for money! Shame really as location is superb for central Stokesley

Lovely cottage in a very good location to the high street. Parking onsite down a little lane was perfect after we incorrectly tried to park in a neighbouring gated car park.

Perfect location and comfortable accommodation. Positive: Perfect location, great back up from hosts. We had a great stay. Negative: More info on the parking prior to arrival. We managed to get parked but it was quite a walk to transport our luggage. However, once we had settled in it was apparent there is adequate parking accessed by a very difficult to find driveway.
