Fantastic cottage and beautiful location just outside Rothbury Positive: Clean and tidy and very cozy Negative: No outside gate to keep our puppy safe in the garden

Had a superb 3 nights here in Rose Cottage with my 2 grown up daughters. We had an issue with the shower and no power or water from it but this was rectified quickly by the owner and we had a working shower by our return to the cottage in the evening. Certainly would return here again.

For us, it was exactly the right location for our short stay in Northumberland. Nearby pub with good food on an eclectic menu, and a very well stocked local shop at the end of the village. The cottage was everything promised, with very comfortable beds!

Sehr angenehmes und urgemütliches Cottage in reizvoller Lage. Cottage und Garten sind allerdings etwas kleiner, als man es von den Fotos in der Beschreibung vermuten würde. Für 2 Reisende jedoch völlig ausreichend und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Thropton befindet sich indes 2 Meilen westlich von Rothbury.

Had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was in a lovely picturesque location (lovely view out the back bedroom), and the cottage itself was spotless and very cozy.

Rose Cottage was a lovely place to stay, a clean and cozy spot with a well equipped kitchen and nice little outdoor garden. The hosts were great at communicating and sent lots of helpful information prior to our stay. Great experience overall, would recommend!

Great space to base yourself for exploring the Northumberland area. All the hits within an hour’s drive.

A beautiful place

Our end of terrace comfortable Rose cottage was situated in Thropton, Northumberland. Good location, plenty of walks straight from the front door, Rothbury 3 miles by either hilly path or 'riverside' path. Walking distance to a fantastic pub, The Three Wheat Heads Inn, (300 metres 'ish) and a very modern Spa supermarket/petrol station with butchers and deli inside at the other end of the village (700 metres 'ish). We enjoyed our 7 day break!

Wonderful long weekend at Rose Cottage. The local area is beautiful and there are so many options for fantastic walks within 10 mins drive, as well as from the doorstep. The cottage is beautiful, clean and modern. The log fire was so cosy and perfect for a cosy evening in. The beds were really comfy and it was great having a garden for the dog. We really enjoyed our weekend

A perfect stay in a lovely location. Positive: Lovely location. Thought it would have been noisy with it being on the main road, but it was nice and quiet. Love the log burner! Would recommend it! Fab Spa shop just 10 mins up the road. Wonderful walks by the river and cracking pub across the road. What more could you want!? Negative: Maybe a gate at the back garden would keep it safe for dogs and children.

Lovely little cottage. Ideal as a base to go on walks and relax in the countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Small but perfectly formed so luck that you have the fabulous Spa shop so close. Positive: Love how well stocked the kitchen was and the little cottage was a perfect base. Negative: It was a shame that the sitting room felt so dark some fake window mirrors on the wall might help and more corner lights.

Perfect Cottage Stay Positive: Very pretty, fresh and well presented little cottage. Small but perfectly formed. Everything we needed for 3 of us for a 3 night stay. Village has a good shop at the garage and a nice pub with good pub food. We found parking easily right outside. Negative: We are all quite short you may struggle if you are very tall

Schönes, ruhiges Cottage Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten im Ort und im Nachbarort, gutes Pub direkt im Ort. Viele schöne Ausflugsmöglichkeiten im Radizs ca. 1 Stunde um die Unterkunft. Hätten auch länger als 1 Woche bleiben können.

We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad. Het is een mooie cottage in een leuk dorpje, Goede communicatie met de host vooraf en tijdens het verblijf. We zouden zeker terug komen.

Short break Lovely cottage well equipped with all you could need for your stay. Clean and modern interior. Very comfy beds. Easy to park outside. Good dog friendly pub in the village where we had a meal and a drink. Would definitely recommend

A great little cottage - absolutely spotless, had everything you could need. Has a cute titchy garden so we could sit in the sun. A short walk from the pub and the Spar. Nice and warm with hot shower. Fully recommend. We'll definitely be back

Perfect base location for exploring the area. House was immaculate and exactly what you need. The village pub has one of the best beer gardens with a view

Lovely cottage in lovely area Really nice cottage to relax in after the many walks we had. Spar shop and local pub give you all essentials without having to drive. Would visit again but 11:00 check out instead of 10:00 would be much better for future visitors.

Had a fantastic stay at Rose Cottage! Beautiful inside in such a peaceful location that is very handy to get to many places. We got sent through a guide with lots of instructions and helpful recommendations. We would highly recommend it.

rose cottage was delightful. Immaculate place to stay , very clean and very newly renovated much appreciated. In a lovely small village with nearby walks , petrol and shop . lovely pub/ restaurant all within walking distance. They even have a bus service that will take you to Morpeth and then on to Newcastle. We really enjoyed our stay would not hesitate in recommending Rose cottage in the future 😀

Great place to stay. This cottage has been finished to a high standard. Great views from the garden. The only negative could be that large people may find the bathroom impractically small (I'm big but not massive and found it a bit awkward).

Pleasant stay in a nice quiet area. Local pub was nice and lovely walks on the doorstep. Positive: Liked the new facilities being modern. Kitchen was well equipped. Shower was very good. Negative: Toilet we felt was a little high and possibly poorly positioned making it uncomfortable. Bed was very firm but accept all things in property being new.

Fabulous place to stay, spotless cottage, great location for the delights of Northumberland. Would highly recommended, walkable pub and shop in the village.

Modern, clean and cosy cottage.

First the good - This place is beautiful! Clearly the owners had put a lot of effort in and everything was good quality through out! Would not hesitate to recommend the cottage on that basis. And the not so good - The thing that marred it slightly for us was Host and Stay managing it! Not enough warning that you will be charged an additional £25 insurance on top of £60 cleaning fee. Alternative is paying £250 deposit and then getting £240 because of £10 ‘admin fee’. Not clear enough before booking. Also Host and stay were constantly reminding us via various coms about our stay and once we got there they reminded us 3 times to check out on time and we were only there for two nights - it all felt a bit intense! Absolutely couldn’t fault the cottage at all but host and stay might need a rethink on their coms
