Lovely place, perfect for family weekend away.

Lovely host. Had a wonderful weekend with my family. Very cosy with the log fire and beds very comfortable. Beautiful house and so lovely we could bring our little doggy

A super lovely home. Extremely well kept & pristine clean. We were immediately impressed. I particularly loved the attention to detail in the decor. The kitchen is very well equipped & spacious. We had an extremely relaxing & enjoyable weekend at Rock End. Cosy & comfortable. The indoor fire was particularly high on our list of wants & was centre to family games night. It is at the top of an extremely long & steep hill so walking to the village was a no go for me but the drive is literally only a minute with a huge car park. Would highly recommend.

We had the most lovely stay at this house. There was 4 adults & 3 children aged 2,3&4 The house was super clean, bedrooms were a decent size! One en suite, Comfy beds, one tv in one room & the most beautiful bathroom! Taxis & Ubers around for any journeys out if needed! The stairs are always scary no matter where you are with young kids so we just kept all doors shut when kids were either in the lounge or upstairs we’d lock them in with us, maybe a stair gate for people to put up if coming with kids may be a good idea! Overall was just a super cosy staycation with family & friends, worth the price! Thanks again would happily come back if we ever went back to visit our friends in chesterfield! 10/10 recommendations!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Stunning home! My son remarked “I wish we lived here” and I agree. Driveway while tricky is very doable. Steep stairs so we left our luggage in the dining room for our short stay. Beautiful finishing touches everywhere in the home. Loved the shower too. Beautiful views from the home. Can not fault our stay here. 5 stars without a doubt

Lovely house with everything you need perfect for non pensioners. Really lovely period property with a quirky decor. New kitchen and bathrooms that had all you need. Only issues we had were with the steps to the property as they are a bit steep and uneven for those with knee issues and my parents are in their 70's. The parking at the back is also very difficult especially trying to turn around in a very tight space. It was a long walk down or up very long hills to town which an older perosn would struggle so easier to drive. Great for myself and I would say recommend for under pension age adults.

We had a lovely easter weekend at Rock End! It is a stunning property with lots of lovely furniture and feature’s. Our children loved the Easter decorations and treats left for them which was a lovely extra touch. Location was great for everything we wanted to do. It’s a steep walk up to the property from Matlock centre but we didn’t mind that. We would definitely return.

Lovely clean property. Spacious and tidy. Kitchen was spacious. Bathroom was clean and tidy. Matlock was very nice, lovely local walks, plenty of places to eat and drink. Didn’t know it was at the top of a steep hill which was difficult with a child and pregnant women but easy enough to get a taxi. Highly recommend

Positive: Beautiful house with everything you could possibly need. Spotlessly clean. We had a rare family get-together for mums 85th birthday.Would definitely recommend thank you Negative: Was rather chilly on arrival seem to take ages to warm up.

Accommodation is exactly as indicated in the details Positive: Property was really lovely and well furnished with more than adequate facilities. Negative: Steep steps to the front of the properly proved a slight challenge with a pushchair, as did the steps at the rear of the property. Property advertised as being able to cancel close to the arrival date which isn’t correct and payment has to be made within a fixed period prior to arrival which is non negotiable and non refundable. Prior to arrival further conformation was required of our details and a further payment for insurance which again wasn’t included in the original advert.

House was beautiful, tastefully decorated and well equipped kitchen. Gorgeous views and beds were comfortable apart from the smallest double room which needs a new mattress. There isn't a lot of outside space but we didn't mind at this time of year. With children and a dog, wouldn't suit us in the warmer months. There is parking for 1 car round the back of the property which is tricky to maneuver in and out but we managed it. We would recommend the Sunday roasts at the Thorn Tree in Matlock and the staff were lovely.

This is a beautiful spacious house, perfect to relax in after a day exploring or walking. The wood burner is wonderful to have but the house is very warm and easy to heat. Comfortable beds and beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. The hill back up from town is a killer but good if you are trying to stay fit. We managed it perfectly well but you can always get an inexpensive Uber up there if you are struggling. There are pubs very close that don't involve walking all the way down the hill into the centre of Matlock. We had a great stay and would highly recommend the property.

Great house close to town and lovely country walks.

Fab centre for exploring the Peaks We loved staying in Charlie’s property. It was very clean and well maintained and was a gem. Parking was tricky round the back but plenty of on street parking was available. A few trips down the hill into town certainly built the glutes on the return up the hill! Highly recommend Stones restaurant and Sourdough Dave’s bakery for bread in the morning. Matlock is a lovely town and well positioned for walking (Dovedale, Edale, etc all within 30mins) or visiting Bakewell or Chatsworth House.Perfect house for a perfect trip! Thanks Charlie!

My friends and I have just returned from our stay and we had a lovely weekend away. The house was spotless, the kitchen is superb and main bathroom spacious with an excellent shower. We could walk into Matlock (big hill when you come back though!), beautiful views and a quiet street. Comfortable beds and pillows. However, the absolute gem on a rainy Saturday was the log burner for our cosy afternoon!

What a beautiful home! Perfect for our little getaway with friends. Felt like home from home with lovely furnishings, kitchen and bathrooms. Only very slight criticism would be the parking. Very tight for a big car. But certainly not a negative. Would 💯 recommend yr stunning holiday home. Thank you

I stayed here with a group of 5 friends, It is a beautiful accommodation, Clean and comfortable . The kitchen is well equipped and the whole house has a modern, cosy feel about it. We enjoyed the our meals each night in the lovely dinning area. The Bedding was good quality and the beds very comfortable, we all slept well. Excellent location to explore Matlock, Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Chatsworth house and the South of the Peak District. Very friendly and attentive host ,who were quick to solve any issues. There was ample parking spaces on the road infront of the house, for our 2 cars . I would definitely stay there again.

Photos of the inside of this do not do it justice, it’s spacious and perfect for socialising with friends. The outdoor area is small but being December / January we didn’t use it much anyway. It is about a 25 minute walk to the town and main restaurants which is up/down a long hill. Overall a lovely stay that we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and recommend to friends.

We stayed in this property over Christmas, and it was fantastic! Homely, spacious and it contained everything you needed. I'd read the revews about the hill getting into Matlock, which are totally accurate- it's VERY steep, and not something we attempted to walk, so we got dog friendly taxis to take us into Matlock on Christmas Eve. I'd also read the reviews about Parking- we took only 1 car, and yes the space is tight, but we had a huge car to park, which luckily my husband took the reigns with. I would say the road parking for us wasn't an option as there wasnt any available spaces, but it may have been the time of year with people being at home. When we arrived, there were things already in the property, which I thought would be useful to include in the review as we ended up taking some of these with us- Toilet roll (only a coupe of rolls/ toilet)/ Kitchen roll/ Foil Clingfilm/ Dishwasher tablets/ Bin bags/ Cloths/ Tea towel/ Tea & Coffee. We loved it so much we booked for next year

Had a lovely stay here for a weekend away with family. The house is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures don't do it justice and we were all in awe when we walked through the door! Having the fireplace available in winter was a nice touch and definitely helped us dry off after walking through some typical british weather! The house had also been decorated for Christmas including a big Christmas tree which was amazing and unexpected! Lovely bottle of wine and biscuits upon arrival which was very generous. Milk was also provided so we could all have a nice cup of tea straight away! The location is up a steep hill from town, but definitely walkable! The website description does tell you all you need to know before booking and the communication from the host was great.

Very high spec. Nice touches, such as bottle of wine and flowers. Lots of tvs! Also an Alexa. If you don’t fancy walking Positive: Well appointed. Spacious. Good views from upstairs. Negative: Due to location ,difficult to park if more than one vehicle. One space reserved.

Rock House was just beautiful - such high quality throughout, very high spec, we felt very spoilt! Beautiful big light rooms, comfortable beds, super clean throughout, very well laid out, excellent heating system and beautiful bathroom and en suite, high quality bed linen and very comfortable beds - everything we needed was provided including a bottle of milk, a welcome bottle of wine and the fresh flowers! Very quiet location. House is a little out of town and at the top of a steep hill but this didn't bother us as walking down was easy and plenty of taxis available at the local taxi rank to take us back up for just £4, so well worth it. The Wellington Pub just up from the house was warm, friendly and welcoming, superb meals and excellent prices. We had 2 cars - one parked near the house on the road at the front, the rear parking spot is a little tricky to get in and out of but we managed. Host and Stay were fast to answer any queries and checking in and out very easy.

Such a Beautiful & well equipped house. Beds were super comfy and the house was really lovely. There are great bars very near by and a array of restaurants in the town just down hill all walkable. We were on a hiking weekend and the trials literally go past the house. Totally recommend Matlock and the surrounding areas.

Relaxing, beautiful house, perfectly located. Positive: A beautiful house that was well equipped with everything you could want and more. The house felt very relaxing and was very clean and well maintained. The milk, biscuits, wine and daffodils on arrival was a real surprise and a great welcome. The location was perfect for getting around the Peak District and we will definitely stay again when visiting the Peak District. Parking was not an issue for us as you can park on Wellington Street or if not there is a parking space for the house at the back. It is a little tricky at first but my husband had a large ford wildtrack pickup and managed to park even at night in the dark, so I would not let that put me off at all, as the house more than makes up for it taking a extra few minutes to park.

Great spacious and very comfortable house. Beautiful kitchen, dining and living room. Lots to do within 30 mins drive of Matlock. Countryside, villages and towns really interesting and picturesque. Fab cinema in Wirksworth. The house is at the top of very steep hills and only walkable to those really fit, so you do really need a car. Lovely holiday- thank you

Great house, lovely period features and furniture and some nice touches on arrival with logs and fire ready to go which was very welcome indeed. Cleaned and great beds and rooms and fab bathroom too. Picture on website showed stone outside area but this is linked to and open road which we thought was possible enclosed, apart from that super house.

Very enjoyable despite the weather. Positive: Very nice interior design. Well appointed with quality items. Comfortable, warm surroundings. Great views. Negative: Parking is a bit of a challenge. Would have been nice to have kinderling and fire lighters for the lounge wood burner.

Great property, awful customer service Positive: Great location for vehicular travel around the locality. Very nicely appointed property. Peaceful part of Matlock, and a short walk to a nice little pub. Negative: Customer service is awful. Duplicate charges made without authorisation and not (yet) paid back despite numerous promises. No way of contacting them directly. Significantly tarnished our view of the property Single parking space to rear of property is helpful, but not easy to access in a large vehicle.

A Hidden Gem Positive: A beautiful house set about half a mile from the town centre at the top of a very steep hill, beware not for the faint hearted! The house is furnished to perfection with lovely finishing touches and everything we could need for our stay. We had a very comfortable stay and will most certainly return. Negative: There is one parking space to the rear of the property which is reasonably easy to access but in my experience a nightmare to get out of. Next time I think I'll stick to parking on the road outside the property which didn't appear to be a problem.

A beautiful house located approx 1 mile away from Matlock Town Centre. The house had everything we needed, and more. Host & Stay were great with communications and responding times. Would recommend Stones for somewhere nice to eat!

Lovely place, gorgeous views, the property is a lot more spacious in person, the pictures really don’t do it justice. Great price for the location- it’s very close to many walking trails and the Matlock city centre is less than a 5 minute drive from the house.

Beautiful house with lovely features. Positive: The property was fabulous. It felt like a home, lovely decor, comfy beds, plenty of space and parking on the doorstep. There were flowers, biscuits, milk and prosecco in the fridge on arrival which was a lovely touch. There was everything that you needed if you wanted to stay in and cook too. We loved staying here and would definitely return in the near future.

This is a beautifully put together house and it was immaculately clean throughout. Check-in was no problem and the location was great. If you are not a good walker, you might struggle with the trudge up the steep hill from Matlock to the house: we decided it meant the cheese and wine was well earned!! There is some confusion in the listing about the bedrooms: B1 is listed as having a king size bed: the picture is of the smallest room which has a small double. The other two rooms have regular-sized doubles - there is no king bed (in case that is a deal breaker for anyone).We enjoyed the welcome pack of white wine, cookies and flowers - a lovely touch. Communication with the letting company was a bit patchy in places: I asked about coffee facilities and was told it was just a kettle: in fact there was a cafetiere. I asked if there was an ice cube tray - did not get a reply to this. Finally, there was no shampoo or shower gel provided despite these being listed - the agency insisted they had been provided. These little oversights did not mar a wonderful stay in a beautiful, tranquil and well-equipped home. Thank you.

Really nice house to stay in, clean, tidy and very spacious. Location is good for exploring although the road can be busy at times. There is a parking space at the back, but if there’s more than one car I suggest parking on the road behind the house, rather than the main road. Very enjoyable stay and the hosts were quick to respond to queries.

Positive: The presentation and the decor was lovely, it had a lovely deep bath and lots of modern appliances Negative: My sleep was awful, the main bedroom at the front has NO curtains or black out blinds. The blinds thst are there are normal day blinds. Therefor as soon as it gets light outside from about 4am the Erin is light up like daytime. Also the road noise is bad. The owners really should get some black out curtains because l felt ill will how little sleep l got

A lovely house for a stay in the Peak District

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Matlock and our stay at Rock End. The house was immaculate. The kitchen was very equipped with everything you could think of and more. Would recommend a stay at Rock End without hesitation.

Rock End is a beautiful property in a lovely area perfect for exploring. Immaculately presented with great facilities and was very comfortable. Beware if you issues with steep stairs.

Host was very quick to answer when I contacted them. Negative: My bed sadly was the worst I ever slept in. It was like sleeping on a sponge. Every time I moved I sank into the bed. and the pillows were the same.The other two beds were fine.

This home was the perfect spot for us to relax, cook and explore the surrounding area. The house was spotlessly clean and well located, the house was cosy and well furnished and instructions were easy to follow. I cannot recommend this stay enough.

Fabulous Victorian property with modern touches just outside Matlock. The owners had thought of everything to make our stay perfect, including fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and chocolate biscuits. Beds were comfortable, lovely linen and fresh towels. Kitchen had all the normal amenities and more including an air fryer. Cosy lounge seating with log burner, just perfect. Elevated position, great views, a couple of pubs within easy walking distance. Highly recommend and would love to return.

**5-Star Review** We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this Airbnb! The house was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The hosts were excellent communicators, always clear and friendly, making the whole process smooth and easy. One thing to mention (and a bit of a workout bonus!)—the hill up from Matlock town center is definitely a climb. Let’s just say you’ll have burnt off your dinner before you reach the house after walking back from town. Overall, this was a five-star stay!

Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and lovely property Positive: Very easy to access the property and was lovely inside home from home feeling as soon as you walk through the door Would definitely recommend and stay again Negative: Nothing really it is a steep hill from the town centre as people have mentioned but there is a frequent bus that stops a few minutes walk away if required. We parked at the front the first evening no problem and moved around the back the next day, some people have mentioned it’s a bit tight but not a problem for most confident drivers I have 3 series BMW saloon and wasn’t a problem.

Very late check in times and late check out times - so not ideal when traveling from far. House bigger than looks online, it was clean and comfortable

We had a lovely couple of days as there are some nice walks in the area. Positive: The house was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very comfortable for 6 adults. Checking in was very easy as all the info needed was on the app. Negative: The house was up a very steep hill which made the walk back up from the centre of Matlock rather challenging. The parking at the back of the house was very tight, so not suitable for nervous drivers.

Lovely long weekend Positive: The house is lovely and there was everything you needed plus more, the ensuite bathroom has a fixed electric tooth brush charger that I was surprised to see and in the kitchen a Ninja air fryer. As we were there for a long weekend we didn't cook and only used the toaster! If you were there longer it would be easy to cook for yourselves as it was well stocked with all the pots and pans etc. Negative: The parking is difficult as the space is to the rear of the property, down a narrow lane that isn't lit very well. Luckily we took my little Yaris so it was not too bad but I think you would struggle with a large car as there isn't any real turning places with the other cars parked down there. Also, you can't park outside the property as there's double yellow lines and the steps up to the property are quite steep and uneven so a bit difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
