The area

Robin Lodge sits in the village of Burgh Castle, where the River Waveney meets Breydon Water on the edge of the Norfolk Broads.

On your doorstep

• Burgh Castle Roman Fort: one of Britain's best-preserved Roman walls, a short walk away with river views
• Waveney riverside walks, plus Breydon Water, a nature reserve known for its birdlife
• Fritton Lake: walks, boating and the Fritton Arms (about 5 mins' drive)

Coast (about 5 mins' drive)

• Gorleston: a wide sandy beach, promenade and cafés, and a quieter alternative to Yarmouth
• Great Yarmouth: Golden Mile, piers, the Sea Life Centre and the Hippodrome Circus

Days out

• Pleasurewood Hills theme park, Lowestoft (about 20 mins)
• Norwich: cathedral, castle and shopping (about 40 mins)
• Broads boat hire at Oulton Broad and Wroxham

Everyday essentials
Supermarkets and shops are in nearby Bradwell and Gorleston, and the James Paget University Hospital is about 5 minutes away.

This area benefits from a well-connected transport network, providing convenient access to local destinations and the wider region. The A47 is easily accessible, offering direct road links to Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Norwich, and the wider Norfolk and Suffolk road network. This makes the area suitable for commuters as well as those travelling for business or leisure.

Public transport is well established, with regular bus services operating throughout Gorleston-on-Sea and connecting residents to Great Yarmouth town centre, James Paget University Hospital, Lowestoft, Norwich, and surrounding villages. Great Yarmouth railway station, located approximately 4 miles from the postcode, provides rail services to Norwich, where connections are available to destinations including Cambridge, London, and the wider national rail network.

The area is also well suited to active travel. A network of footpaths and cycle routes provides safe access to local schools, shopping facilities, healthcare services, parks, and Gorleston Beach. The relatively level terrain makes walking and cycling practical for many everyday journeys.

“The property was as discribed, was hard to find as we did not expect the property to be in a car park and right next to an outdoor swimming pool and public house/banquet hall. On one of the nights we stayed, there was a wedding and guests were walking around the property as they thought it was part of the banquet hall. Cars were parking right outside the property so there was no real privacy when you had patio doors open.”
