We had a lovely time in Whitby but had to use taxis several times due to the location of our apartme Positive: Not applicable. We ate out for most of our time in Whitby. Negative: The shower area could have done with a grab handle as the floor was slippery during use.

Positive: Well equipped. Accessible. Clean. Close enough to town centre. Negative: Took a while to understand controls for hot water etc.

Family time Positive: The apartment was lovely, well equipped, great location, great views and a parking space. Nice to have the chalk board in the hall for the kids to draw or leave comments on each day. We enjoyed looking through the binoculars 😀 Negative: The mattress on the double bed in the family was not very comfortable and could do to be replaced.

Relaxing peaceful 😊 Positive: Lovely bright and clean great location. Really nice to look out on to the river and boat yard Negative: Nothing. Only thing missing for us was a washing machine having three children

Weekend getaway with two dogs Positive: Clean large apartment. Great location close to Whitby centre but still nice and peaceful. Lovely views of the estuary and the steam train passing. Easy enough with the dogs. Would return again. Negative: Would of liked a clearer note about how to get the hot water on in the property. Maybe a more modern bigger TV. But I'm probably being picky.

Great choice for Whitby Positive: Apartment was very well furnished, clean and tidy and the facilities were good. No problems accommodating our cocker spaniel. Short walk to the centre of Whitby. Lovely views over the marina. Negative: The king-sized bed was too firm for us, but that's personal preference. The lock box outside wasn't marked with the flat number and neither were the other seven lock boxes, so finding the right one was ṭrial and error.

So, the accommodation is as good as the pictures and description. Easy to find, park up and lift to the said accommodation. We had a couple of issues which we raised with Charlie at host & stay. The flat was super in terms of layout, the only downside was lack of hot water and when you used the bathroom sink, the water pipes made a dreadful noise as though there was air in the pipes. It’s only a 10 minute walk if that into the centre of Whitby and if you were a bit peckish on your way back to the flat, then riverside fish & chip shop is recommended for sure. Overall, an excellent stay and would recommend this accommodation to couples or families of 4. The main bedroom was a king size bed, then the second bedroom had two beds in there.

Relaxed and lovely stay - we visit each year for our anniversary as we got married in Whitby - this has been our favouri Positive: The property was spacious, clean and light - offering a really relaxed place to stay during our visit. Amenities were great - easy to use and the apartments were quiet. Negative: There was nothing we didn’t like - information was really thought through and we knew how to work everything.

We loved our stay! Great location (we even saw a seal from our window!), spacious and well equipped. We will definitely be back

Fantastic stay. Positive: Very cute flat, perfect for a romantic getaway. The living room with TV and cozy couch was a great feature for snuggling up as nights get darker. The kitchen provided all the cooking utensils and pans we needed to cook meals. Warm throughout flat and clean. Negative: The beds could have been more comfy with thicker mattress toppers.

Excellent place to stay, we'd be more than happy to book again Positive: The location and how well equipped the apartment was. Bedding and towels great quality. An all round lovely place to stay. Negative: It was a little further out than we usually book in Whitby, but all on the level so not really a problem.

We really enjoyed Riverrun. It had a lovely and interesting outlook and was clean and comfortable and thoroughly equipped. Particularly powerful and hot shower. We would visit again. Thank you.

Great location within easy walking distance of Whitby town centre & attractions. Apartment was welcoming & homely with everything we needed for our stay. Great views out on to the harbour; enjoyed watching the wildlife. If we had one criticism, it would be the lack of hot water; it seemed to run out quickly. But it didn’t spoil our stay. Many thanks

Really lovely, well equipped and licated apartment Positive: Exceptionally clean and well equipped apartment. Very comfortable beds with quality linen. Plenty of large fluffy towels. Fantastic view of the river, we loved watching the tidal activity and the coming and going of boats and rowers. Everything we needed was there and lots more beside. Fantastic location, 10 minutes walk to old town. Clear instructions provided prior to arrival on a need to know time line: e.g. the last thing we received on the arrival day was the key box code. Negative: The apartment is obviously used by the owners , it's like bring a guest in their space. This was lovely because it felt so homely but it would be good to know what it's ok to use. For example, there were beach mats, buckets and spades and crabbing buckets, and tea, coffee, etc in the cupboards.

Fantastic stay at River run! 12 min walk into the centre of Whitby. River run was super clean a real joy to stay there. The parking bay was a bonus too.

Lovely apartment , good location with car parking easy outside the apartment. Very relaxed break and just what we wanted and the apartment felt just like being at home and couldn’t ask for anything more.. Communication with the owners excellent and very caring even on the small detail. Will definitely go back. Well done.

The quieter end of Whitby made it even better. Positive: Very well equipped, clean and well presented. Negative: For 5 of us, 5 dining chairs would have been helpful, plus an extra parking place

Really enjoyed our stay here. However, it was a bit chilly in the evenings and we couldn’t use the lounge fire as there were no instructions, and we couldn’t work out how to use it.

Positive: The view and location were great. It was comfortable and spacious. Negative: The WiFi didn't work which was a little annoying but it didn't spoil our stay.

All in all a lovely experience - very comfortable accommodation in a great location. Positive: Superb location. Negative: Wi-Fi didn’t work.

Great potential but frustrating at best Positive: The location was good as it was close to the main centre, but only after locating the correct flat block. That was not easy. Negative: There was no hot water when we arrived and the process to get it was convoluted. The window broke so we couldn’t lock it. The cooker hob was cryptic and not easy to turn on. And finally, the heating in the main room kept turning off, so we were left cold. Again, there may have been a way to do all these things easily, but it was not simple to work out. Also, there was so much stuff/bits/tatt in the place that it made finding things hard, and as a result things needed a good dust/clean.

This is excellent. Fantastic views well apppointed appartment and lots of cups plates etc. Really postive and clean and spacious. Superb all round. 15 min walk to centre of whitby and near a good fish and chip shop.

No cooking utensils. Take your own! Positive: Convenient location, spacious. Negative: There are no cooking utensils, I spent the whole time communicating this and was assured there were. Seems cutlery is the same as utensils to Host and Stay. They state they only provide the basics, well a single wooden spoon is all you get. We cook whilst away to save the costs of eating out. There are no tongs, slotted spoons, egg flippers, or pizza cutter. I did not appreciate the way Host and Stay bombarded me on the lead up to the break with adverts for gin or chefs.

Seashells Positive: Pleasing atmosphere, liked the decor, fun, and the veiw. good location, everything you need, and more in the apartment. Negative: No information about the hot water, shower went cold, no information about local shop for milk bread etc, found a headband on the carpet, which must have been overlooked by cleaners

Positive: We stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it! The apartment was amazing—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had a fantastic view. It was also just a short walk to town, which made everything super convenient. The rooms were very comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. A perfect stay overall—highly recommend!

Fantastuc stay in Whitby for 4 nights. Would highly recommend this property. Positive: Great location - 5 to 10 minute walk into town. Great to have an allocated parking space which as far as I can see is a rarity in Whitby. Had everything in the apartment we needed. Spotlessly clean. Very spacious. Negative: There were numerous keyboxes - none of which were numbered. This meant trial and error to find the correct box. I'm sure there was a system but as this type of box can be a bit fiddly we missed the correct one the first time.

Relaxing stay in a clean and comfortable apartment with fabulous location. Positive: Immaculate property. Excellent location. Easy walk to town centre. Negative: Key safe not very clear signage for apartment! Didn’t read the small print about ‘home’ which is how you identify.

Lovely accommodation in a great spot. In easy walking distance of the town. Would recommend to others and definitely would stay here again.

Immaculate, central and comfy.....

Positive: The flat was spotless, very well presented and very comfortable (all beds and seating). Perfect temperature throughout, and very quiet area. Negative: Nothing.

Fab, thanks! Negative: Having property name or number on key box would have been easier, rather than us having to use a process of elimination but understand if this is omitted for security reasons. Maybe a coloured sticker and then provide that via email/app.

Ideal, albeit cold at times. Positive: The size, location and furnishing were all perfect. Negative: The heating system was temperamental, so hot water not always available and quite cold. Heater in triple bedroom not working either.

ENJOYED STAY. PLEANTY OF TOWELS AND BLANKETS ETC COMPFY BEDS AND ENOUGH SPACE TV A LITTLE SMALL LOTS OF BATHROOM LITTLE BOTTLES FOR US TO USE IF WE WANTED Negative: PROBLEM WITH GETTING KEYS FROM THE KEY BOX AS THERE WERE 6 OR 8 KEY BOXES AND NONE OF THEM WERE NUMBERED. THE APARTMENT WAS LOVLEY HOWEVER THERE WAS A MUCKY RIM ON THE OUSIDE OF THE TOILET SEAT UNDER NEATH. THERE WAS LOTS OF TOWLES AND BLANKETS IN THE WARDROBE AND THIS MADE IT AWKWARD TO PUT OUR CLOTHES AND COATS ON HANGERS. TV A LITTLE SMALL THE EMERSION HEATER WAS TURNED OFF AND WE RUN OUT OF WATER TWO DAYS BEFORE LEAVING AND IT WASNT VERY CLEAR WHERE WE HAD TO TURN ON THE WATER, A SIMPLE LIST WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD INSTEAD WE HAD TO TRAWL THRUGH THE BOOK WITH ALL THE FITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR EVERYTHING THAT HAD BEEN PUT IN THE APARTMENT. THE TORCH IN THE BOILER CUPBOARD WAS NOT WORKING AND THE MIRROR IN THE BATHROOM DID NOT WORK (AGAIN ) TRIED TO FIND INSTRUCTIONS BUT COULD NOT GET IT TO WORK. THE KITCHEN CUPBOARDS AND DRAWS WERE NOT REALLY ORGANISED WELLNEEDS A GOOD SORT AND PAPER NOTES INSIDE THEM SAYING WHAT WAS IN THEM BUT THEY WERE A LITTLE MIXED UP . NO CUPBOARD FOR US TO PUT OUR OWN DRY FOOD IN, CERIAL , BISCUITS CAKE ETC .SINK DRAINER LOOKED GROTTY . FELT LIKE IT NEEDED A DEEP CLEAN END OF YEAR POSSIBLY.

Lovely apartment in a fabulous position, a bit of TLC would make it great. Positive: Lovely property in a brilliant location, great views across the river Esk and to the Abbey. 15 minute walk on the flat to the centre of Whitby. Clear instructions for arrival and key location. Negative: Cleanliness of the apartment could have been better in particular the mirrors and kitchen equipment. Definitely needs a "clutter" clear out as mentioned in a previous review, there's simply too much stuff which isn't required. A smart tv wouldn't be asking too much in this day and age surely. Well they did ask what we didn't like.

Comfortable property with great views. Positive: Location facing the river. Comfortable bedrooms. Kitchen well stocked with crockery, glasses & utensils, plus large electrical goods. Hot water in the shower. Negative: No tumble drier - the list said there was one. Another toilet would have been good.

enjoyed Whitby Positive: Fantastic location view from the window . The apartment is very nice and easy to find Negative: Cleanliness was bad. Dirty towels left on the bathroom floor Dirty towel left on the bedroom door. Plates and cutlery were still on the side of the sink they had not been put into their drawers etc. very little storage space in the double bedroom as the wardrobe was over half full of trunk, bedlinen and wash basket

A good location for the East side of Whitby with easy parking. Positive: We enjoyed having a view of the river. A quiet location. About 10 minutes walk to the old cobbled streets. A well equipped apartment. Negative: Check-in could only be arranged after registering with a third party website for a refundable deposit plus a non-refundable £10. This was not made clear in the original Booking.com information. There were a few anxious phone calls at the last minute when we hadn't received check-in information.

Positive: Excellent apartment, great location and facilities. Very clean and comfortable. We loved our stay. Negative: There was just one heater in the 2nd bedroom that was not working properly.

Riverrun Whitby Positive: Riverrun is in an ideal location 5 minute walk to the main harbour bars and restaurants. The property has everything you need for your stay and the rooms are nice and large. Negative: Nothing

Overall the accommodation was really nice. The apartment had fabulous views of the river and harbour. Unfortunately some of the local children were vandalising boats and setting fires to areas of the town, which made some people feel a bit uneasy about leaving their cars in the vicinity.
