As a family of 10 we had a great stay in Raven House, there was plenty of room for us all to relax after a day out and enough equipment and kitchen space for us to prepare meals and dine in comfort. The house was clean, warm and comfortable. We loved the views over Robin Hood’s Bay, particularly the sunrise on most mornings. Parking for 3 cars was a little tight but we managed to fit in. Overall, Raven House was a lovely place to stay.

We had a lovely few days here, the house is in a beautiful location. The view is amazing and everything is within a short walk. There’s a pub/restaurant on your door step, a nice park nearby which was great for the kids and a bus stop across the road that takes you straight into Whitby or Scarborough. The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness everywhere was quite dusty and the floor wasn’t as clean as you would expect, there were items left from previous people (one being someone’s underwear) . Would have been 5 stars if it didn’t lack the attention to detail from the cleaners. But overall the stay was lovely and we would stay again.

The parking was stated as 3 cars which is slightly misleading. The space accommodates one medium car and two very small cars. We had to find a car park for three days for one car. The kitchen was not very clean and we cleaned all the worktops before using the kitchen. The property would benefit from some maintenance and more attention to detail for eg the curtain hold backs in the main bedroom we’re not secure and had filler around them which was very unsightly. The carpets were stained and the stair carpet from the upper floor was loose from the stairs and therefore a slipping hazard and dangerous, especially with children. We did report that on our arrival but nothing was done about it.

We had a lovely comfortable family time with great views. Positive: Location was great, Good pub next door with good food, beach within 10 mins down the hill, children’s play area nearby, fantastic views from the house. House decor lovely. Negative: A few items in the kitchen… salad bowl and servers, wine glasses, bread knife… otherwise well equipped. Downstairs loo would be good.

Great location. Exactly what we needed. my whole family (12 of us) decided to book this location because it had everything we wanted for our family Christmas break. some lovely walks straight from your front door and also a small drive away. short 10-15 minute drive to Whitby. parking was a little tight but we managed to get a smaller car and 2x SUV's in the spaces.

Awful Positive: 1) No terrestrial channels on tv.This was not stated on write up on [link removed]2)Door plates loose.causing my daughter to stub here toe causing a lot of pain 3)a leaky shower on third floor causing puddles on second floor bathroom.Once found unable to use said shower .4) Tiles fallen off in kitchen 5)Alarm going of every so often.Very annoying 6)A very abrupt customer service operator who really didn’t want to know and couldn’t wait to hang up on me 7)Right hand side of toaster not working.Not helpful when cooking for 9 for breakfast 8)Pts in cupboard dirty 9)Overall standard of decorating pot.Needs some TLC 10)Gate disintegrated in wind Over all experience very disappointing A leak reported and all we had to tell that someone had attended was Hi Craig, just a quick message to let you know our maintenance technician attended the property today with regards to the concerns about a leak that you raised. We loved our stay here as a group with 2 babies. The host was extremely responsive to all queries and offering advice. The house was great - lovely and well decorated rooms, spacious kitchen and dining / living area. Would definitely stay again! The only down side was no family bathroom (besides a toilet / bathroom on the very top floor) but wasn’t really a huge issue. Thanks!

Excellent property, just needs better cleaning. Positive: Location is perfect, spacious property with plenty of room for us as a family of 12! Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Negative: My only complaint would be the floors downstairs weren’t clean. There was bits of food/crumbs and dirt in the kitchen, hallway and living area. Upstairs felt clean. We had two crawling babies with us so it was a shame the floors downstairs were dirty as I didn’t like to put them down on the floor!

Great location, large character house. Positive: Location! A great location in Robin Hood Bay, close to The Victoria Hotel (restaurant & pub!). Parking spaces - 3 in total, spaces 2&3 a bit tight but spaces nonetheless. A lovely well house, large enough for several families, but cosy. Negative: Very minor, could’ve done with a door mat on entry. When visiting in October lots of wet, sandy & muddy boots. We ended up using cardboard to manage this.

The location was stunning with fantastic seaviews. The place was very comfortable and warm with enough room for all 12 of us to sit and eat together and also to sit and relax together. Great oven space and fridge and freezer space - all important when you are catering for a large group. Charlie was very responsive and any queries raised were answered very quickly. Able to park three cars very easily by the property and car parks free for the others in winter. Would highly recommend - we had a great new year here.

No mattress covers only 4 wine glasses for max 12 guests. No basics such as oven gloves, kitchen roll. Maximum 4 dishwasher tabs, no scourer and no washing up liquid. For what we paid I expected a few more basics. Also small front bedroom light not working and some repairs needed. The addition of a downstairs toilet would make a massive difference

there is no shared toilet until the top of the house, none at all on the ground floor. Two on the middle floor are en suite. house sleeps 12 but doesn't seat 12 at finish table. kitchen not well equipped for utensils and serving. beautiful views. great location. easy parking. beautiful furniture. very comfy beds and linen. really good fridge and freezer. stair carpet reported as dangerously detached. Had a response but not fixed during stay. washing machine and tumble dryer not accessible. not sure if they're even part of the listing ?

This Airbnb was gorgeous. I don’t think the photos do enough justice to the decor and views of this place. It was beautiful decorated, felt homely, felt perfect for a large group of people and the views were stunning. It’s a really convenient place right around the corner from a restaurant and easy access to walk to the seafront. The only not as great things were that it was a little confusing where you can park at first, maybe some signage would help including which bit of the front we’re allowed to drop things off at. And it’s worth knowing that the only non-en-suite toilet is on the top floor so we did share the en-suite toilets but one of them is a sliding door that doesn’t lock, perhaps a working lock to the bedroom would help. Didn’t put us off and we’d come back again! highly recommend for a large group stay.

Great location - needs come care and attention. And cleaning properly !! Positive: Was once beautiful. Not tired…. Dishwasher does not work and has not for Some time. Cookerhood not working (which becomes a huge problem when trying to cook for 12!) Cutlery. Pans. Etc very very old and falling apart - almost impossible to cater for 12!! Bathroom taps connected wrong - which is dangerous with children !! Garden had not been swept (ever!) Basically this place is (was!) lovely but needs to be looked after !! Negative: See above !

Great location, parking for 3 big cars. The house itself is spacious with comfy beds and good quality linen. Excellent for a larger gathering. The only downside was the kitchen, is a pretty poor standard and poorly equipped. Poor quality crockery ( no oven serving dishes) cutlery poor, glassware not great. We had an issue with the oven which was addressed, but was dangerous. A few small touches would take this property to the next level.

While the house is in a great location and was plenty big enough for the 8 of us that were staying ( it’s big not for 12) there were many things wrong - many of which have been noted in previous feedback from 6 months ago and no action has been taken to fix them. A list of issues: One toilet was not flushed and contained urine The glass in the oven door was loose and likely to fall out Dishwasher heater element not working so things didn’t dry Nowhere near enough cooking equipment for cooking meals for 8 let alone 12 people Several doors would not latch shut and didn’t have locks ( including the main bathroom - so you had to leave something heavy behind the door to ensure privacy Top floor en-suite door would not full close and had no handle on the inside - again a problem with privacy in the en-suite and the sliding door pelmet was falling off Damp marks on several ceilings from earlier leaks Several Cupboards and drawers with missing handles There is more but I have no more room

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in sehr guter Lage. Etwas ungünstig ist das 3 der Zimmer nicht über ein eigenes Bad verfügen und sich das eine Bad im 2. Obergeschoss. teilen müssen. Die sauberkeit bei Ankunft war ok aber nicht überragend. Der Trockner wie bereits beschrieben defekt, und die Spülmaschiene reinigt nur begrenzt gut. Besteck musste von Hand gewaschen werden. Geschir vorgespült. Wenn man sich darauf einlassen kann ist es trotzdem eine großartige Unterkunft und bei einer Belegung zu 12. ist auch das Preis Leistungsverhältniss sehr gut. Besonders Das Wohnzimmer und das Esszimmer sind super um gemeinsam Zeit zu verbringen und vor dem Kamin zu sitzen.

Great house for a large party of 11 , needs maintenance here and there and a good clean in the kitchen , bathrooms , door handles , bedroom doors all need attention , curtain rails , I could go on , but we loved Robin Hood bay .

Family & friends weekend break. Great location, spacious house with everything you needed. Great commutation prior to arrival. The only one thing I think the house could do with is a downstairs toilet as the main bathroom is on the top floor. We love Robin Hoods Bay and this is the perfect place to stay for a big group.

Raven House was beautiful, spacious and in the perfect seaside town setting. The views were wonderful, overlooking the sea and the quirky rooftops of Robin Hoods Bay. Just a short walk from the bay with a handful of lovely pubs and cafes. An easy drive to Whitby for a nice trip out, just 15 minutes away. The hosts were very good with communication and the house was clean and very accommodating. I would recommend Raven House for a large family and friends getaway.

We stayed here for the weekend. Perfectly laid for three small families and lots to do in the area and public transport links to Whitby. Location is great easy to drive to and right on edge of the village with beautiful views

Loved the house and the location. All the rooms were very spacious including the hall. We appreciated the large fridge and freezer and the huge dining table for our group. The beds were comfy although recommend bringing own pillows - they were hard!! Place felt very dusty and in need of a deep clean. Bits on all the floors and there was mould in all the showers. We cleaned on arrival as we had young children crawling round and a newborn so it needed to be clean. Also worth mentioning the washing machine is in an outdoor shed and the tumble dryer didn’t work but there was a clothes airer that we set up in the porch. Despite these few issues we would still recommend- we had a wonderful week here

Amazing views, good facilities. Nice to have basic supplies of things to wash up etc and toiletries for bathrooms. Lovely hotel/bar next door with great food and service. Parking a little tight but manageable for a larger car and two more compact. Lovely place to stay for a family get together.

Perfect location with parking for 3 cars. Was easy to find and check in. Plenty of space for 3 families with 3 dogs. The views and location are what make this place. The house could do with a little TLC in places. Nicely decorated but a little dusty and dirty in places. Wine glasses were a bit sparse along with pots and pans for cooking. Overall the house was great for the 10 of us and would go back again.

Christmas We had a brilliant Christmas Everything we needed.

Great spacious house for my birthday celebrations, well appointed kitchen that met our needs, bit grubby in places and the furniture wasn't very comfortable. Biggest gripe was the communal toilet was on the top floor, it was great having so many en suites but a long way to go for a pee in the evening or overnight (we were mainly women of a certain age). But great location next to the pub. Space for three large cars was an exaggeration but we did manage.

Great location - property could do better It wasn’t the greatest stay with several property issues which needed sorting… Where do we give full feedback? Front door locks unopenable on arrival. Back door key snapping on second turn… no spare keys! Locked out day 3 due to key safe jamming beyond repair. Extractor in kitchen not working and filthy. Extractors in bathrooms not working. Flooding in hall during torrential rain- back door leaking after repair. External maintainance to patio poor weedy and littered- front and back. Fire grate filthy when opened to operate. General cleaning poor-crumbs on table on arrival and kitchen surfaces greasy- we gave a thorough clean before using. Minor irritations incl. curtains / bathroom door fittings falling out. Kitchen pans dreadful- no non stick frying All too small for a large group No large serving dishes. Poorly finished grouting in bathroom tiles. Good point incl space and location but for future guests satisfaction a good overhaul is needed to check everything. Your maintenance team did turn up in good time and tried to resolve issues but fact was in total we had Maintenance with us over 5 hours over 3 days. We were also locked out for 2 hours! Overall we will not return and shall not recommend. No Senior representative has contacted us to apologise or to check how we feel- very disappointed…. Not what the offer promised or the price should deliver. This was a family special occasion and your property failed.

A great house for a family holiday, a wonderful location with beautiful views over the bay.

The position of the house was wonderful with gorgeous views of the coast. It was ideal for multi generational family or friends to stay and had everything you needed for a great stay. Limited parking is available but it is free . One space is suitable for a regular car whilst the other two are for smaller cars. The only problems we found were some maintenance issues although the host did respond quickly to our comments and assured us they would be rectified. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great place. Lovely area. Room for 3 cars at a squeeze. Clean and tidy. Only downside I would say is that for a group of 11, more soft furniture to sit on is needed. Plus attic bedroom, en-suite bathroom could do with being modernised. Would book again.

Raven House is in a stunning location with outstanding views over Robin Hood’s Bay to the headland further up the coast and out to sea; whether you are lucky enough to have one of the bedrooms with a view or sitting out in the front garden. Parking is for 3 cars and if you have more cars than this in your party, you have to leave your car in the pay and display car park nearby. The open plan lounge and dining room is a lovely place to spend time together. Be aware if anyone has mobility issues that the main bathroom is on the top floor of the house. We did have a lovely stay and the location of Raven House and the views would be hard to beat.

Ravens house is a great sociable house in a good spot at the top of the hill in Robin hoods bay. Beds are comfortable there is planty of room. The kitchen is well equipped. As mentioned in other reviews a downstairs toilet would be ideal as the only communal bathroom (ie not en suite) is on the very top floor. Other small issues included a lack of bathroom cabinet/shelf for toiletries/ toothbrush etc and we had an issue with the outside bin being totally full on arrival but this was sorted out by the company after a couple of emails. Overall a very pleasant stay, great for a large group

Beautiful Stay Lovely property perfect for a big family We enjoyed our stay here very good location walking distance to the beach restaurants and shops. Parking is very tight but we managed it and also very close car park near by if needed.The house was very clean and tidy on arrival. Option or later check out was also greatly appreciated as when your staying with a large family nice to not have to rush. Would definitely recommend and hopefully return ourselves one day.

Great property and easily walkable to local pubs and restaurants. Fabulous ses views from 3 of the bedrooms. If you are careful you can park 2 larger vehicles there we parked 2 Ford Rangers in the parking area. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you

Perfect position for our large family Positive: The house was well presented and had most things. Negative: It was the little things like no kitchen roll. Scissors or pan scrub. We could not open windows and noted a lot of dust under beds. Downstairs nice but upstairs and bathroom less than optimum ie only one toilet roll per room.

This is a beautiful house with gorgeous views over Robin Hoods Bay. The house itself is very well done and was totally happy with everything apart from the bathrooms. The house desperately needs a toilet downstairs. The family bathroom is upstairs in the attic. The other two bathrooms are en-suites in peoples bedrooms. This needs thinking about to me. The location is brilliant as two pubs are right nearby and the local shop. You couldn’t ask for more. Parking great too.

Fantastic location & space but with problems you shouldn’t encounter at that price. Positive: It was very roomy, well decorated and in an excellent location. Negative: We had no hot water for two days and had to have the heating on to get warm water the rest of the time. The hard floors were very grubby and there was no washing machine.

This was an excellent place to stay for a trip with friends - loads of space, modern, decent price, and the view was absolutely incredible. We loved it!

In need of another toilet for the amount of guests that don’t get an en-suite and some much needed TLC for what could be an amazing house great size location just disappointed that the repairs where needed were not made good and cut corners on curtain rails to the point that they couldn’t be closed and no heating was on when we arrived and it had snowed and hadn’t been let previous days we had to go out until it warmed up and a large house to heat up.Didn’t let these problems spoil our break away will just look for an alt next year

We had the best weekend staying in Robin Hoods Bay! The house is perfect location and amazing views over the bay. The house was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay and plenty of room for us all!

This is a grand home which is beautifully decorated, has magnificent views, and is at the top of Robin Hood's Bay, just steps from the bus stop. But there are a few things you need to be mindful of... The only bathroom that isn't en-suite is on the top (2nd floor). That means those in the ground floor lounge or or in one of the first floor rooms that isn't an en-suite will have to get upstairs to use the loo. The kitchen had no paper towels, oven mits or dish soap. There is no laundry facilities and 3 of the bedrooms don't have bathrooms and will have to share the top floor bath. This is managed by a corporation and it feels very corporate (canned e-mails, an app to access information, and no real instructions for things like the fire place, radiator system, etc. we much prefer working with an owner/host and miss the personal connection when it's a corporate manager. Beautiful location and the house could be great. It could have been cleaner unfortunately which was a shame.

Lovely place and beautiful views, nice rooms and nice furniture inside the house. A shame about the lack of kitchen equipment, especially dishes to serve the food in. And the washing machine in the shed is an issue: we haven’t been able to use it for the whole duration of the rent.

Beautiful home. Great location. Property is let down by attention to detail. Bathrooms were all extremely clean but the kitchen could have been much better. Some of the cupboards were dirty inside and had to wash plates, cups etc before use. Some items of clothing were left in one of the wardrobes from a previous person and also some medication was left on the floor of one of the bedrooms.

A real gem of a place. Fantastically located with amazing views and near to the lovely Victoria Hotel. The living accommodation is much more spacious than it looks on the photos. Very comfy beds. Very relaxing would be happy to return.

The house was everything we expected and in a great location, wonderful views, it was clean and tidy on arrival. The kitchen was fairly well stocked, but not if you’re cooking for a crowd.

Lovely house in a beautiful location and view. The only issue was the top floor ensuite toilet seemed to have an intermittent flush. The bathroom sink again on the top floor was slow in draining the water. However, we all enjoyed our stay in a very comfortable home

Positive: The house was warm and inviting with every room clean and tidy...The kitchen was large and the equipment easy to use...as has been mentioned a downstairs toilet would be a huge addition to a very large house full of character...lovely views across the bay...situated at the top of the hill its location is great with access to all amenities...would highly recommend staying here...👌 Negative: Could benefit from a downstairs toilet and also a fire in the front room would add an extra cosiness to a lovely house...gas, electric or even better a real fire or a multi fuel stove....👌

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. The location was fantastic, near to beautiful views of the bay, restaurants and public transport. The house was clean and well equipped too. Our only minor drawbacks were to do with communication around the waiver charge and only having the contact details for Host and Stay and not the owner.

Mostly great but some issues with broken shower cubicle door and bed frame in one bedroom. Coffee machine and extractor fan in kitchen not working

Positive: The bed was comfortable Negative: Building noise from next door. Semi detached so very close. Horrendous noise I cried my dream holiday was totally ruined. Started at 7.30am every day. Someone needs to accept responsibility for this and refund some of my fee. Sofa's look good but not comfortable you can't put your head back some stains. Carpets on stairs very stained. Lots of light bulbs in pendants not working. Surface clean of property is ok but floors dirty my white slippers came back black on bottoms. No downstairs toilet was a pain. Cutlery has wobbly handles. Finish in kitchen needs attention for £1500 for 4 nights I expect better. Bins from Victoria Hotel are outside property that was fun at 7am collection not!

Lovely location, just a five minute walk to the the old town. Very quiet and a nice space! Most rooms have en suites to boot. Would definitely consider another stay 👍

Comfortable but not cleaned properly Positive: Spacious comfortable and in a great location with lovely views at the front Negative: Some poor standards of cleanliness There were dirty pans in the kitchen cupboard when we arrived The spray arms and jets in the dishwasher were absolutely filthy blocked and with black grime . They hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom door handle, toilet roll holder and sliding bathroom door in the ensuite on the 2nd floor were all in a state of disrepair when we arrived.

Was a fab place to stay to accommodate us all. Positive: It was in a fabulous location not far from the beach. Negative: The property had loads of potential but lots of things didn’t work - extractor fan in the kitchen, doors didn’t close, back door lock was very stiff.

This property is absolutely stunning, so spacious, so peaceful and an ideal location, however, the property is not maintained to an acceptable standard. Not one single door in the property closes the way that it should, the carpet is coming away on the stairs causing a trip hazard, the dining table is scratched and full of holes, every drawer in the bedroom furniture is either broken, missing a knob, or coming away from the runner, there are light fitting missing in various rooms, the plug socket in one of the rooms comes away from the wall when removing a plug, the curtain pole in one of the rooms is so close to the ceiling you cannot close the curtains, some of the tie back holders have come away from the wall. Lastly, the property cannot have been "cleaned" prior to arrival. Admittedly the beds were made up and there was fresh towels, but there had been no dusting/sweeping/mopping carried out for quite some time. We are leaving the property cleaner than when we arrived...
