The area

Garston, located in the southern part of Liverpool, boasts a rich industrial heritage, having grown around the docks and railway to become a key part of the city’s development.

St. Mary’s Road, where Railway Cottages is situated, serves as the local high street, offering a mix of businesses and amenities.

For scenic views of the River Mersey, visit Cressington Park, a perfect spot for a stroll around the estate of Victorian villas. The park was developed in 1851 and offers a charming blend of history and natural beauty.

You’re also just a short drive from two beautiful parks: Calderstones Park and Sefton Park, ideal for leisurely walks or outdoor activities.

Reynolds Park, located only 8 minutes away by car, is another gem. Recognised with the Best Public Landscape Award for North West Britain, this walled garden offers a serene space for quiet walks or family picnics.

Speke Hall, a stunning Tudor manor house surrounded by beautiful gardens and woodlands, is another nearby must-see destination.

For a local shopping experience, head to Garston Village Market, where you can shop fresh produce, flowers, and other local goods.

If you’re heading towards the city centre, don’t miss Lane Lark, a trendy area known for its flea markets, pop-up cafes at The Old Police Station, and craft shops at Arts 47, as well as a range of independent shops and eateries.

Liverpool City Centre is packed with attractions, from the stunning Liverpool Waterfront and Royal Albert Dock, to the Tate Liverpool for contemporary art. Beatles fans will appreciate the nearby Beatles Shop and The Beatles Story at Liverpool Central.

The nearest train station is Liverpool South Parkway Station on Woolton Road, just a 5-minute drive or a 20-minute walk from the house. Liverpool South Parkway also serves as a major bus interchange. Whether travelling by train or bus, you can reach Liverpool city centre in under 30 minutes.

The 500 bus stops right outside the property, providing a direct connection from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Liverpool ONE.

The Arriva North West Bus 82 passes through Garston, Aigburth, and Toxteth, ending at Liverpool ONE Bus Station in the city centre. This service also stops at the Whitehedge Road bus station, just a 13-minute walk from the property.
