We had a great stay here, very child and dog friendly. Great secure yard and books and games available. Lovely added touch with the tea, coffee, cake, milk and fresh juice being left in the kitchen. Great location, just a short walk to Whitby harbour. We managed to park right outside the house on the street so very accessible. Will definitely return.

A home away from home! Positive: Stayed with our daughter and friends. Beautiful property, so spacious for 4 adults and 2 babies! Hosts were really helpful and kind. Brilliant location, so easy to walk into the town. I have absolutely nothing to complain about and will definitely be back!

A great family stay Positive: Good location, quiet street and easy walk into Whitby and to coastal path. Comfortable bedrooms and house. Lots of space. Lovely bathroom with great shower and super towels. Well equipped kitchen. Found the area very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend Negative: Be aware that on street parking can be a bit difficult depending on time and stairs up to 3rd bedroom not suitable for less able.

What can I say, what a gem. So clean and every thing was perfect. Beautifully warm and inviting property. Thank you for the milk, cake and biscuits. Would come back again. Telling family and friends what a lovely place. From 3 of us and Kevin the dog. ✅

Property didn’t live up to the photographs or description. Great location. Negative: We found the standard of cleanliness a little disappointing. Shower cubicle looked moldy around the outside. Kitchen cupboard under the sink smelt very musty along with the cupboard in the dining room. We opened up the washing powder compartment of the washing machine, intending to use it, but it was disgusting inside so we decided against using it. It all just felt a little unloved. Chairs in the lounge along with the cushions needed cleaning, recovering or something as they looked dirty and tired. Beds a little uncomfortable and pillows very flat. I appreciate its dog friendly and this can make it a little harder to keep everything ‘spick and span’. However, we’ve stayed in several dog friendly homes all of which have been kept spotless and you wouldn’t have been aware that numerous dogs had stayed there. Location to Whitby Centre was excellent. Parking anywhere near the home was a nightmare. Not anyone’s fault, but the noise from the seagulls at night was extreme to say the least.

Positive: House itself is a lovely house.... location ok .... Negative: Sofa was fabric and as a dog friendly accommodation really not appropriate. Sofa really grubby and we could smell dog .We all have dogs ourselves but we did find this a real problem .

Well appointed property with some really nice touches from the host (milk, juice, biscuits and cake) including feminine hygiene products in the bathroom which was a really nice, thoughtful touch. It’s really nicely decorated and has everything you need. The stairs are quite steep and not ideal for elderly relatives, also the parking is on street not specific to the house - we had to drive streets away and herd a toddler, a grandma and child with additional needs through the streets! I can see on closer inspection that the air bnb ad says ‘on street’ in the small print but the main page is misleading and should be clearer. The house is lovely though and we would stay again.

The listing was misleading saying theres parking on the premises- this is false advertising as there is not any parking. I did contact Host and stay about this, but its not been updated. We couldn’t find street parking so had to pay to park in the marina car park about 10 minutes walk back up a steep hill which is not ideal for disabled or elderly. This aside the property was overall a lovely house. The kitchen was clean and very well equipped. The toilet, bath and sink in the bathroom were clean, floor wasn’t very clean and there’s mould around the shower and between the shower and bath. Nice clean towels and bedding provided. All beds comfortable. Blankets available too and heating worked well. Very steep narrow steps up to the attic room and steps down into the bathroom. Living room was well set up but the once cream sofa was turning grey and needs a clean. It’s a great location, close to town but quiet. Don’t recommend for anyone with physical disability.

Positive: The house was conveniently located-only a 8 minute walk to the centre of Whitby The property was clean and tidy and had a welcoming and comfy feel. The kitchen was fully stocked with all.of.the essentials. I felt we had all of the provisions we needed. I'd definitely stay here if I was ever in Whitby again. Negative: The only downside was the shower. There was an issue with the temperature knob and the only options for the water was hot or hotter. It would be great if the hosts could address the issue as a matter of urgency. This isn't a criticism of the property, it is typical of buildings of this era. I like to mention it for anyone who has mobility concerns. The stairs in the property are steep and so if you struggle to move up and down stairs please consider that there may be difficulty making your way up and down.

Lovely place. Clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Comfortable to relax in and well equipped. Managed to get parked either in same street or on an adjacent street. Fish and chip shop on same street was handy for first night quick tea. Walkable into town. 2 steps down into bathroom from landing, but night light in plug socket kindly provided on landing helped with safety of use at night. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Excellent property in a great location. Perfect period terrace. Positive: The property was fabulous. Clean, spacious and well decorated with lovely furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that you could need to prep meals. We didn't use the outside space but it was nice to have one. There was a huge range of books, games and a PS4 in one of the rooms. We stayed in December and it was decorated really nicely for Christmas. A 10 minute walk or so into town and really easy to find. We managed to park on the street opposite the house but we were given information about car parks before we arrived in case there was no available on-street parking. Negative: nothing, it was fabulous.

Absolutely fabulous property, exceptionally clean and very well presented throughout, The little extras were superb (biscuits, cake, teas coffee, milk & juice ...all great quality & appreciated) The cleaning supplies and basic condiments/oil a real bonus. Linen and Towels excellent quality. Kitchen has everything you might need and more. Games cupboard/PS4 and log burner were fab on the chilly nights. Bathroom was so spacious and the little extras in there a lovely touch. Beds were soo comfy, we all slept superbly. Cot, highchair and child bowls and spoons fabulous and everything very doggy friendly which was priceless for us 👍👍 Outdoor area lovely and very private and safe for children & dogs. Only a 10 min walk to harbour ... bit of a hill to negotiate but definitely manageable. Host very responsive to any needs or problems. We enjoyed every moment and would definitely return without hesitation. Thank you, 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had an amazing time here, we have 2 children age 6 and age 3, it was within walking distance of all local amenities, no need for a buggy, they walked all the way. The property itself is brilliant for small children as it is totally enclosed front and back, again brilliant for our dog. I did not worry at all about any of them getting out onto the road. The house is lovely, so much bigger than I imagined, loads of space for my children to play, really clean and tidy, clean towels lots of extras like washing capsules after getting messy at the beach. Thank-you for a great stay!

This was great value for money and met all the groups expectations. The house was warm and the beds very comfortable - lots of nice extras in the kitchen and in the bathroom. We would definitely stay here again.

5 Star accommodation for us. For 3 thirty something males, this was ideal and within walking distance to the town etc. For anyone a little bit less mobile, please be aware that it is a short walk away from the town and up hill/steps.

We had a fab stay for my husband's birthday. The cottage is very spacious, clean and has absolutely everything you need. In a great location just a few mins walk from Whitby centre. Thank you!

Lovely property with spacious bedrooms and bathroom. Beautifully furnished and great location for us. Slightly difficult to find the exact property but got there in the end. Managed to get parking on the street the two nights we stayed but can imagine this could be tricky at points. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Lovely clean and tidy cottage. Near the town got used to the hill after a few days. Had everything you needed even books and games for the kids (and adults).Nice to have welcome pack biscuits milk etc nice thought.Rooms nice and large tvs in all bedrooms. Bonus to have washing machine and dishwasher (not that we used). Cottage was well furnished and homely. We were lucky we had no issues with parking.Def recommend. Thank you

Positive: Very close to the town centre. The house provided everything you could think of and there was a nice welcome back. Negative: It would have been nice to have an extra bathroom, there was just one. It was not a problem.

The house was lovely, clean and spacious. The 2 issues were the parking, having a disabled mother is was difficult to get the items from the car. I wouldn’t describe the parking close by. The other was the 3 rd bedroom in the attic the stairs were extremely steep. Of these 2 things don’t matter this Is a perfect property

Perfect home away from home in Whitby Positive: Lovely house with everything you could ask for to feel at home. I stayed here with my mum and sister and it was a wonderful base to explore Whitby and the surrounding areas. We loved how well equipped the kitchen is which made cooking a pleasure. Very clean and comfortable with friendly and responsive hosts. Thank you, we’ll be back!

Perfect oasis in Whitby Positive: We had a lovely stay and would happily recommend this Airbnb. The property is beautiful, with lots of thoughtful finishing touches that made it feel welcoming and comfortable. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bed linen was excellent – we all slept really well.

Excellent house would be delighted to stay there again Positive: Beautiful well equipped, clean house, with everything we could possibly need for our stay. Gorgeous French doors inside and out. A great little courtyard with comfortable seating. Kitchen had absolutely everything you could wish for, coffee, tea , milk and cakes all provided Negative: Freezer could do with a defrost and removal of ice.

Lovely house, very clean and as described! Had everything you needed for your stay! Only downside is quite a steep hill if you’re walking back to town, but doable and managed with a pram.

Really lovely stay at the Railmans Rest in Whitby. The decor and furnishings were great quality, the place was immaculate and lovely quiet residential feel location that was walkable to the centre. We were able to find on street parking the next road along to the house which made the stay even easier! We would stay again

We’ve just returned from a weekend at the Railman’s Rest. What a beautiful place, the photos don’t do it justice! Everything you need is provided and more. Even a lovely welcome pack with cookies, cake and a few essentials. We really couldn’t fault it ☺️ It’s a short walk to the centre of Whitby, shops and pubs/restaurants. We had a fabulous time and will definitely return.

what a find in Whitby if I was to score the cottage it would be 11 out of 10 , fantastic lovely house and the owner had lovely taste , highly recomended to any one visiting Whitby , had eveything that any one would want Approx 10 min walk to the center , plenty to see and do around the harbour

Lovely property We couldn’t fault the property at all. Lovejy welcome goodies milk in the fridge, was much appreciated. Unfortunately we only spent one nigbt at the property, as we really didn’t like Whitby, it wasn’t what we thought.

The back courtyard was not nice at all but the front garden was lovely but didn’t have anywhere to sit. None of the televisions worked and the light over the dining table flashed on and off constantly- there was no other light so staying in for the night was not the best experience!

We stayed at Dale’s place for 2 nights and it was absolutely wonderful! We were so happy with the house, it’s really beautiful and had everything we needed and more. It’s bright and cosy and Dale provided all the information we needed for a great stay. It’s in a fabulous location which is easy to find and only a short walk into town. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, we would highly recommend! 😊

Positive: Lovely how it’s been done out. Just a few little things that let it down. Negative: Cleanliness. Cob webs on landing and to coving in bedrooms. Under beds need hoovering. Kitchen cupboards need wiping out. Serious parking issues, we ended up with a parking ticket.

Really lovely stay! Positive: Warm, comfortable and clean. Really thoughtfully equipped and well looked after. Very nice to have some firewood available and milk and juice in the fridge. It must be the first holiday let I have stayed in where I don't have a single thing to complain about ha ha.

Lovely place to stay - really comfortable Immaculate and had everything you could possibly need The owners were lovely and really helpful and really take pride in their Airbnb . Its beautiful. Little disappointed that due to being managed by a company , the company added on a last minute insurance charge - I would rather have had this included in the original price However other than this, the stay was perfect .
