Great location, comfortable place Positive: Great place -really close to shops and sea front. The kids slept really well - comfortable beds! Negative: Didn’t get key code before we arrived. They sent a message after 10pm. Luckily a kind neighbour had the number - we were lucky he was passing. The house info link didn’t work. Parking was tight but ok for one car
Positive: Lovely cottage, which had everything we needed and more. Excellent location and private parking was brilliant. Negative: Nothing
Positive: Great location, everything you needed in cottage, very close to all amenities in Seahouses, had a wonderful stay.
The cottage was great for catching up with friends. Spacious inside and clean and comfortable. Lovely central location and coast and pubs just a few mins walk away. We slept well in beds and very quiet location even though next to pub. Car access could be tight but we didn’t use car while there so not a problem for us. Just a short walk to swallow fish to get a fresh kipper in a bun for breakfast too!
We had a lovely visit to Northumberland and Puffin Cottage is lovely, well equipped, very clean and comfortable. It's location in the villge couldn't be better - steps from the harbour and a few minutes walk from the shops etc. the kitchen is well equipped, the shower works well. Unfortunately as others have said, the noise through the bedroom wall from the pub next door was hard to ignore. The second bedroom was not affected by this. And - as parents of a one year old - it didn't stop us sleeping altogether but if you're sensitive to noise and want to be in bed before 11pm I would look elsewhere. It was particularly noisy on the Saturday night. Parking isn't easy for one car, so I doubt you could realistically get two in - wheelie bins and cars parked outside the cottages across the track make it tight to navigate (even with cameras and sensors), but we managed it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and probably would stay again, but not sure it is suitable for everyone.
We enjoyed being in this location in a gorgeous town- thank you Positive: Fab location and well equipped and clean
Puffin Cottage was lovely, a really nice space in a great location, only a few minutes walk from the sea and Seahouses main street. The place was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The next door pub was lively, and you can hear the music very clearly through the walls, but they turned it down from 11pm on both Friday and Saturday. Parking is tight, fine for one car with some manoeuvring but quite difficult to find space if you have more cars with you as a lot of the other properties have bollards to reserve parking.
Pleasantly surprised at property. Larger than we imagined. The bed was massive!! All mod cons available. Very clean for an old cottage. Location 50 meters from the harbour with parking!! Though parking is tight, it is easily manageable. No walk in shower but overbath shower quite powerful.. would definitely recommend !!
Good cottage in a great location. Quick to walk to Main Street or the harbour. Had to message twice to get the check in details but the host was very quick to respond. There was noise from the pub next door, particularly live music on the Sunday I was there. But it was a nice cottage to stay for a few days.
The cottage was lovely and very welcoming, and had been cleaned to a high standard. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge cosy, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The access can be a little tricky if there are large cars parked directly opposite in the lane, but having a parking space with the cottage was very helpful. The stay was great and in one of my favourite parts of the world, the only downside was the noise coming pub next door late at night. My friend and I were staying to participate in a charity hike, and needed to be up early 2 out of the 3 mornings we were there. The pub on Friday night had karaoke as a previous guest mentioned, but they played loud music until after 11, and until even later on Saturday. This, plus the noise of multiple beer barrels being placed outside, as well as general 'people' noise through the walls, did not make for a great night sleep. I would stay again and I do recommend this cottage, it is lovely, but advise bringing ear plugs.
We recently stayed at Puffin Cottage. Great location really close to the town centre of Seahouses. Property was spacious and well equipped for a family. Lots of places to eat - our favourite for food was the Olde Ship Inn. Lovely walk along the beach to Bamburgh Castle (and Bamburgh) makes for a great day out. Would overall recommend
Excellent 👌 Positive: Spacious, good location, clean , private parking and well equipped
Lovely stay at Puffin Cottage. Host responsive on messages and the space itself was lovely and relaxing. I liked that the thistle outside had been left because it had Painted Lady caterpillars on it - as a nature lover it's great to see things like this. I'll be back!
We were pleased with the property and would happily stay there again. Positive: The property was clean and had everything that we needed. It was in a great location that was close to the centre and the harbour. Negative: The property was fine and there was parking space but this is only suitable for one car.
House is well situated for amenities and was clean and tidy on arrival. I had a problem with initial communication as the check in details would only be sent once an online form was completed. This form wasn't sent and once I had chased it up with the owner it seemed to be a repeat of our details which are already on Airbnb. However, I completed it and was then told check in details would be sent 6 hours prior to check in. They weren't and I once again had to chase up the owner. Once we'd got the details it was very easy to get in but a word of warning if you were wanting to park 2 cars on the drive as it would be very difficult due to the width of the drive and cars parking opposite. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Puffin cottage.
Comfortable cottage ideal for a few days stay Positive: Very comfortable holiday cottage with plenty of facilities. Kitchen well equiped and lots of games/dvd's if you want to stay in. Location ideal for staying in Seahouses and exploring surrounding areas. Beds comfortable, wifi good, water pressure good. Negative: Noise from adjoining pub loud on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, so much so that you could sing along to the music being played when they had a live band and although we knew there was a pub we didn't expect it to be so bad. Getting onto driveway difficult because of vehicles parked directly opposite opening. Removing the walls at the end of the driveway would make it easier to manoeuvre
Positive: Location was excellent Spotlessly clean and comfortable Negative: Ok for anyone not requiring outside space for sitting in the evening Car space ok Directions could have been easier
Puffin Cottage is a lovely two-bedroom property that comfortably accommodates up to five people. It has a spacious sitting room with a cosy log burner and a generous kitchen-diner with a large larder. While the cottage was clean and functional, it lacked the warmth and thoughtful touches that make a holiday home feel welcoming. The front patio could have done with weeding, there were no basic condiments, and one duvet cover was ripped. The bedroom TV cable was also untidily fixed to the wall. The biggest issue was the bathroom. The extractor fan was extremely noisy, disturbing anyone sleeping when used at night. The shower pull cord also failed, leaving us without a shower for the final two days. Although a technician attended on the last evening and disconnected the fan, the shower was not repaired before we left. The location is excellent, next to the Schooner Inn and just a short walk from the harbour.
Good hosts, great location, no issues. Would stay again.
A great property in a fantastic location. Plenty of space for a family of 4. Children loved the bunk beds. Really liked the added touches such as boardgames available. Helpful having a parking space but it was sometimes difficult to manoeuvre due to the quantity of vehicles parked on a narrow street. There was some karaoke in the pub to the side of the property on Friday night, but they stopped at a reasonable hour and didn't impact our stay in the slightest. Would definitely stay again!
Lovely well equipped cottage in great location. Positive: Very spacious and homely . Tastefully decorated . Huge bed . Well equipped. Good location . Negative: Parking was a bit tight when other cars are parked opposite. Didn’t have the key code in advance and had to call to get it sent to us . A few more tea bags would have been nice . Bathroom extractor was a bit noisy when on.
Excellent stay! Positive: Excellent location, very comfortable and cosy cottage. The mattress was superb! Negative: Nothing not to like.
Positive: The position of the property, it was a perfect size for our party. It was clean and very well equipped. Negative: We could hear the public house next door, but we did stay over the weekend.
