Had a lovely few days here with two families celebrating the New Year. Was lovely to have a Christmas Tree up for our festive get together. The surroundings and views from the house are absolutely stunning - was a joy to wake up to sunrise over the hills every morning. The house is equipped with all you need, especially the kitchen. We all slept well. The new shower is perfect - warm, powerful and spacious. The older shower was a little more temperamental so we all tended to use the new one. Lots of space to sit and relax. The fire was all set up ready for us to light on the first evening and kept us toasty warm. Would agree with other reviewers that the sofa isn’t the most comfortable but there are plenty of comfy arm chairs. This was a real home from home and I would love to come back - especially to explore more of the surroundings. Even though it had the benefits of being completely out in the countryside it was easy to get to and Brecon and Hay on Wye were handy for shopping etc.

Absolutely beautiful farmhouse, perfect for a family get together at Christmas. Mush more spacious than the photos showed. Amazingly equipped. Host was very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely beautiful farmhouse, set in a stunning location with views over Pen Y Fan. Our family spent Christmas here and had a fantastic stay! The hosts provided a Christmas tree too which was a lovely extra!We were a little worried about cooking Christmas dinner in a new kitchen, but it was so well equipped with good knives, pans, blender, crockery, the only thing missing is an extra chopping board would be useful! So we had a lovely Christmas for 9 of us, including kids. Great kitchen set up and large table! Lovely high chair and toilet seat which was great for the toddlers. Bedrooms all lovely and warm with comfy beds. Only thing to note the room with 3 single beds is a walkway through room, but still worked well for us! Washing machine and dishwasher all great with an airer int he utility room which was great for wet winter walks! The photos don’t do the house justice..it’s super cosy and really spacious! Would highly recommend!

Lovely homely farmhouse in beautiful location Positive: We had a lovely stay at Penrheol Farmhouse. We were six adults and two young children - and it is spacious, homely and really clean. The rooms are big, beds are comfortable, linen so fresh and clean, big bathrooms, all the things in the kitchen you would need for preparing and cooking, and plenty of space. The location and views are beautiful. We walked to the local pub via the path in the fields which was lovely. A short drive to Brecon town. Communication was great and the the host was very kind and left us cake, fresh milk, tea, coffee and also logs for a very cosy fire. Thank you and we will definitely be returning :-) Negative: Nothing to dislike - we had a wonderful stay.

We had the house for a family weekend celebration and it was the perfect house for a family. There are three toilets a l Positive: The location is so tranquil with the most amazing views. Everything is well appointed it’s nice and warm does plenty of seating photos of the inside don’t quite do it justice. there was also a lovely welcome tray .

Wonderful family home. Positive: Very spacious home with good amenities. Lovely fireplace with wood supplied. A home away from home with a well-supplied kitchen. Lovely views of the farmlands, sheep, and distant hills. Once the heating was turned on, the house was very warm. Comfortable living room with TV and many apps. Lots of hot water with 2 full bathrooms. The dishwasher and washing machine are a bonus. Negative: Towels are small and not fluffy. Some of the mattresses need attention

My family and I had a great experience at Penrheol Farmhouse. When you first arrive you’re greeted by a beautiful view of the Welsh hills which isn’t captured in photos of the stay but would’ve been a major plus for us if known. The drive can probably fit between 3-5 cars on dependant on size. However, this drive is sloped. There is also an additional cabin sized shower room which I don’t remember reading about on the stay’s briefing. The back of the property has two fields with cows in. We woke up on the first morning and ate our breakfast whilst watching the baby cows chase each other round. We then got to see them have their own breakfast. It was a brilliant experience. The kitchen has all the equipment and utensils you’ll need including two large and one small cafetière. However, only a two slot toaster. All bedrooms were tidy and clean but a floor plan would be good. We will be staying again. The hosts communication with us was very good leading up to and during the stay.

We had a lovely family get together in the great farmhouse. Lots of space, amazing comfy beds and very well equipped. We will definitely stay again.

Perfect place for a family getaway. It was cosy and we enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended.

Host greeted us and available if we needed. The rooms and kitchen are big. Bonus toilet downstairs. Clean and everything you need were provided. Quiet area, even cows and sheep's in the field. Thank you for the cake. Big table and perfect for 9 people.

We had a great time staying at the farmhouse. Everything was as described. Kitchen was well equipped and had a big enough table for all 8 of us to sit and eat. The surroundings were very scenic and peaceful. The hosts left us a loaf cake and some milk in the kitchen which was very sweet of them. I will happily stay again when I visit Wales and would recommend to everyone looking for a peaceful home away from home

Positive: The location and views from the house were stunning. The house was tacked away and roomy for 6 adults and 2 children. Equipped kitchen - sitting areas in and out doors. Check in is by key in safe so we haven't met the host, but we were welcomed with a cake and coffee / tea etc. Everyone in the family loved this house. Negative: Late check in time (4:00) and early che k out (10:00) times and owner would not accommodate any flexibility ility ti this which can be a,change for a large group's holiday. We only asked for check in at 3:00 to prepare the house for the group but thus wasn't accommodated - so didn't feel a very welciming start.

A short but sweet 2 night visit, ample space for 8 of us. Truly stunning views and lovely artwork in this old farmhouse. Very responsive host, well equiped kitchen. Brecon town is close by, its a nice town with everything you need. We will stay longer next time! A

Fantastic place to stay, with room for 9 people. Having a table that actually sits how many people are staying was really nice and something most places are lacking. Great stay, in beautiful settings.

It's a fantastic spot with lovely views towards Pen y Fan. The property is private and secluded yet minutes from Brecon. There is a lovely feel to the place. It's warm, very comfortable and well equipped and ideal for larger families/groups. Please note there is a third toilet on the ground floor (not mentioned) and ample off road parking. Would definitely recommend and book again.

Beautiful home in an excellent location. We stayed with a group of 8 and the house was ideal for that number. The house was clean and well equipped. It feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but Brecon is less than 10 min by car.

We loved our stay at this house! And would love to visit again. Incredibly spacious and charming, felt bigger than in the pictures. And cozy and comfortable for a group of friends. The wood burner and baths were perfect after some long hikes

Idyllisches Landhaus in wunderschöner Lage Positive: Das Haus liegt sehr idyllisch, hat einen wildromantischen Garten mit schönem Sitzplatz vorm Haus. Die Zimmer waren liebevoll ausgestattet bis ins letzte Detail. Man kam an und fühlte sich sofort wie bei Freunden Zuhause. Die vollen Bücherregale, geschmackvolle Bilder an der Wand, ein Willkommensgruß in der Küche mit Kuchen und Kaffee und frische Blumen auf dem Tisch. Das Highlight war das Wohnzimmer mit riesigem offenem Kamin und großem Kuschelsofa. Jeder Raum war ganz individuell gestaltet, bis ins kleinste Detail hüsch arrangiert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und auch mit 7 Leuten war ausreichend Platz, alles sehr großzügig.

What a lovely place! We travelled down from North Wales for a family get together while one member of the family attended a lime plastering course in Brecon. All 8 of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic value for money. Stunning house and garden with fantastic views. Warm log fire at night was a great bonus. Dale was really friendly and came and said hello when we arrived. We also accidentally ruined the lawn when our car slid down it but he was extremely understanding and didn't make a fuss. Would fully recommend to anyone!

Fantastic house with amazing views! Positive: Fantastic location with amazing views. Spacious, very comfortable and well-equipped house with a good sized garden. We were 3 adults and 4 teenagers and there was plenty of space to all be together or to have our own space if needed. So many small touches that made the house feel special, like fresh flowers and a delicious Bara Brith cake on arrival! I can't recommend this place highly enough. Negative: I cannot fault this property. The landlord even has a book in the house to note breakages and suggestions for improvements, which he goes through and implements where practical. Amazing!

Penrheol Farmhouse is a fabulous, homely farmhouse in a stunning location, with gorgeous, far-reaching countryside views. There is lovely garden, with patio and plenty of space for children to run around, anda very pretty walk around the grounds. The sitting room is very pleasant, but the armchairs and sofa are not very comfortable! The only other improvement is to provide blankets for extra bedding. In general, it is a gorgeous and well-equipped home-from-home, and we would all love to return. Even my 3-year-old nephew, when it was time to go home, said "me want to stay at the holiday house"!

Beautiful house, great to put the fire on after we did the local park run and play board games while the clouds rolled over Pen y Fan. Would recommend, the property is spacious and well appointed and would love to stay again

Great Stay, comfy beds, lovely views Positive: we used the property as a base for a construction job we were working on, we always prefer to stay in a house together rather than seperate rooms in a Travelodge etc. great showering facilities and a spacious property. Negative: access into the property of a steep grass path, if this was stoned or had steps it would be safer all round, I would imagine in really wet weather it would get a bit dangerous.

Superbe semaine dans la ferme de Penrheol. Maison très confortable pour nos 2 familles... Magnifiques randonnées aux alentours. Jardin fleuri splendide, entouré de vaches, offrant un spectacle vivant tout au long de la journée. Maison propre, lumineuse, spacieuse, bien équipée et très paisible. Superbe vue sur le PenY Fan

We enjoyed a lovely holiday in Penrheol Farmhouse. Great accommodation for an extended family to enjoy themselves. We also met the host who was very helpful and told us of some facts about the village and county which were very interesting. We look forward to going there again. A great place to unwind.

A great place to stay - felt like home. Positive: So much room but felt cozy and comfortable. The eat in kitchen was great as were the views from the windows there and some of the upstairs bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen with a nice welcome flowers and bread. So fun watching the cows and sheep against the backdrop of then beacons. Well located for many day trips we had in mind. Four bedrooms would comfortably hold 9 guests (we had 5 with plenty of room). I enjoyed the bathtub and the skylight in my bedroom. Definitely recommend. Negative: It was a little hard to find at first and difficult to get in and out or by car but we managed.

Gorgeous property. Just superb. Positive: Absolutely outstanding property. Loved the cows and the sunny little reading nook in one of the bedrooms. Has a beautiful feel about it. Close to everything. Enjoyed reading about the history of the house’s owners. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Fantastic 3 night stay here. Location is great - we enjoyed the views over the hills and the entertainment watching the neighbors (cows and sheep ;). The house is spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs, and large kitchen, living room, and extra bathroom downstairs. The driveway entrance is through a gate (no lock - just to keep livestock out), and parking was close enough to house, little bit of maneuvering required to turn around in driveway but we had no trouble. Would definitely stay here again!

Penrheol Farmhouse was spotlessly clean, spacious and elegantly designed. Beautiful views over rolling fields, cows and sheep. The owner came to say hi and we felt all communications were excellent. Beautiful base to explore Brecon and visit the Hay on Wye Literary Festival. We would return again for sure! Thank you.

Really lovely farmhouse, perfect for what we needed. Hadn’t realised that your had to walk through the bedroom with single beds to get to the master bedroom but wasn’t a problem for us. Great location, beautiful surroundings. Plenty of kitchen equipment to cook meals. Comfy beds and hot shower. Would recommend!

A lovely house to stay in, extremely clean and the communication with the host team was great. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for self-catering, dishwasher and washing machine tablets supplied. The garden is beautiful and incredible views looking out to Pen y Fan. Extremely quiet location with a short walk across a field to a pub - food was amazing! Highly recommended this stay, would definitely choose again if returning to the area.
