Great location for all Whitby attractions Negative: Parking was an issue initially but as the local workers moved there cars we got parked up for the rest of our stay and no parking fees to pay

Great little cottage Positive: Location was great, it was comfortable, the consoles were a hit with the kids and the facilities were great. Negative: The bedrooms had a fusty smell, couldn't tell if it was from the bedding or the building.

My first problem is that Host and stay have a policy to add accident insurance to the price after booking. It was mandatory and they would not give the access code for the apartment until it was paid. Secondly my instructions was the cottage number was 5 , very confused when found number 5 was occupied by a family, after talking to a few other people found the cottage is actually number 3 around the corner. Thirdly the parking to this property does not exist. the instructions on entering tells you to park down a lane opposite on a first come first served basis. It was full. After unloading moved to Marina car park £9 for 24 hours. Second day got a space across the road so moved my car so it was easy to load up for departure on the Monday morning. This lane is a private road and on Monday on check out the lane was completely blocked with cars from solicitors and hair dressers. It took nearly an hour to get all the people out to move the cars so I could eventually leave. Diabolical

Comfy and quirky with a great location - fab family stay! Positive: The property is lovely (the pictures don’t do it justice!), feels homely, quirky, such thoughtful touches which the host left. Comfortable beds, Sky TV and Netflix, loads of films and games to play. Location is great, few minutes walk from centre and across the road from Pannett Park. Negative: Nothing - no complaints.

Really enjoyed he property and would book again / recommend. Positive: Brilliant set up for a family and the location is superb. Walking distance from all the main sights. Negative: Generally great, but a few of the kitchen items could have been cleaner (cutlery / bowls)… that said everything else was immaculate. I’d like to have seen heavier weight duvets and pillows. And also pillow protectors etc…

Very enjoyable stay Positive: Very spacious plenty to keep the kids entertained, kitchen fully equipped, stocked cupboards very welcome.

Can’t fault the cottage. Great value for money. Good location. Positive: It was a really pretty well equipped cottage with plenty of space. Good location for necessary shopping. The owners ensures we were warm for all our break. Sky TV was great! Negative: Stairs not good for older end. I thought when I’d booked it it had a little parking space but it didn’t. I didn’t like being made to pay £30 breakages insurance which was not returnable … that’s needs altering.

Perfectly located cottage for a small group with great amenities Positive: The beds were so comfy Negative: Not enough room for 5 around the table, you would probably have to do it in sittings The neighbours were very loud during our stay ! Paid for parking for both nights due to none being available near the property

Fantastic 3 Night Break and would use the same Company again Positive: A lovely cosy clean quality cottage with everything in for a comfortable stay. Lovely and modern facilities but with a cottage quaintness. Snug but comfy sitting room with a large smart tv with all the Apps and lots of games & books. A smart TV in the bedroom too. Fantastic location - nice easy flat 5 min walk to the train/bus station. Very good customer service with updates by text with links in case anything went wrong. Excellent value - determined by what we didn't like about the property- which may well not apply to other people. Read the info properly - its very transparent what you do and don't get. Everything was as outlined - so excellent Negative: Loo/Bathroom not on the same floor - and the double beds against the wall (Clearly shown on pics) - so a bit difficult for an older person to get out of bed to go to the loo - also without banging your head on the low beams. Parking could have been a bit of an issue but we managed to get an on-street park very near. Other than that everything was wonderful. Two keys would have been better than just one for 2 couples.

Comfy and ideally situated for a holiday in Whitby. Everything is within walking distance. Instructions were very clear, including helpful hints and tips. Very clean. We would recommend a stay here.

Gorgeous, well equipped cottage. Positive: Lovely cottage, very well equipped with tv's in both bedrooms and a TV with games consoles and DVD player/consoles. Lots of games and dvds to choose from. Also, a trunk with games in. Comfortable beds, Lovely decor, and well equipped kitchen. In a great location not far from train station and co-op, pubs and restaurants. Can see the Abbey from bedroom windows. There's even some binoculars! We didn't meet any staff, but clearly are very good at their jobs from the standard of the place. Definitely recommend, and we would go back. Negative: Nothing i didn't like.

Nice little air B and B maisonette Positive: Close proximity to everything we wanted to do and see in Whitby. It is a cosy maisonette. Yes, there are entrance stairs. The beds were comfy. Had everything we required. Negative: Very unfortunately, the air B and B on the ground floor was very noisy at night till the early hours.The company were very supportive and I am sure it is a EXTREMELY RARE occurrence but 3 nights of very little sleep had a huge impact on our holiday. The noise travelled up the chimney. It did not affect the front bedroom. Just the living room and back bedroom. Parking was a big issue. The lane where it is recommended to park would mean you would get blocked in. We ended up having to pay 12 pounds per 24 hours down at the dock, and even then, finding a space was hard.

Positive: Excellent location and fantastic place to stay. Very homely and warm. Negative: Issue with parking across the road Victoria place as car was continually blocked in. Residents say it's private road and not to be used.th3y say they have talked to landlord previous.

A great place and well situated for town. A well equipped kitchen. The seagulls were annoying and woke us up, but I guess that happens at the seaside. A very pleasant weekend stay.

Lovely clean cottage , well furnished with nice touches Positive: The cottage was nice and clean with good facilities. The rooms were thoughtfully and nicely decorated with nice little touches. It was close to the centre of Whitby so easy access. Nice bathroom. Nice view of Whitby abbey in the distance. Liked the games box and other provision. Negative: Beds were a bit lumpy. There was no car parking space available and we ended up parking at a distance and then walking about 10 minutes with our luggage. I'd not booked a cottage before so was unsure about what the rules were and it wasn't clear. Key collection procedure wasn't clear. Would have been good to have a folder with more information relating to the property on site. And I had problems with the TV. Couldn't get BBC and ended up watching sky news instead.

Amazing, comfy and very relaxing Positive: The location is brilliant as it's close to towns and the actual apartment was lovely Negative: The microwave didn't work, there was used glasses in the kitchen on arrival. Also one of the beds seemed to be cracked on the base of the frame covered up in tape.

Very good generally, we enjoyed the Indian restaurant around the corner - passage to India - and the town Positive: Location and quirkiness Negative: The first set of stairs. And the pillows on the bed. TVs at end of bed useless - and got in the way if you had 2 in the bed.

The place is nice and well located. Only problem is we didn’t get any email about the code for lockbox so need to message host again at midnight to get one.

Lovely cottage. Management company let the place down Positive: The place was really nice, cosy and central. Negative: Host & Stay hit you with a £30 non refundable "insurance" or allow you to pay £300 and get £290 of it back? Absolutely criminal. The place was extremely clean but that was because the owners cleaned it themselves. I would happily book the cottage again but not while Host & Stay have any involvement with it.

Very relaxed. The property had everything you could need and more. Beds were very comfortable. Positive: The location was excellent. Finding parking was a little stressful, as couldnt find Silver Street Parking spent about 40 minutes going up and down as it was a one way truning. Gave up in t nd and found Marin Parking which was the best place to park - 4/5 minute walk from the property. The property was very close to everything, park, shops, harbour, Abbey ruin and coffee and eating places. Negative: Trying to find Silver Street parking.

Great fun couple of days in Whitby. Positive: This is a lovely property. The décor is modern but cosy, the rooms are a good size, the bathroom the new-looking with a really great shower and exceptionally clean. The location is ideal, a very easy walk to everything you'd want to see in a short Whitby stay. Negative: The only issue was parking, which I guess is the same across most properties of this type. We parked in the Silver Street car park, which is 6-7mins walk and was very good value.

Positive: Place was amazing. Close to all the amenities and had a great view of the Abbey. Good value for money too. Very impressed.

Negative: The parking was an issue. On check out we found we were blocked in and a man from an estate agent was waving his angry finger at us telling us we weren’t able to park there even though the sign in the flat said to park there.

Great place to stay, location is great , just away from the hustle and bustle of Whitby , but within 5 minute walk to the town, try comfortable cottage. Lacks parking but recommend the parking on the large car park on the harbour, 8 minutes walk to the cottage.

Perfect holiday let in ideal location. Positive: Location excellent. Beautiful decor throughout. The owner has an excellent eye and has used quality furnishings throughout. Lovely and warm, lacking nothing, books, games, magazines, and a full range of TV channels ( Netflix, prime, etc) for the evenings. Faultless vacation, we would highly recommend and intend to visit again in the future. Thank you. Negative: Bathroom radiator red hot, and burnt you if you didn't think to swerve it as you walked past.We were not sure how to lower the temperature( inept on our part). But at least the place was cosy warm, on a positive note.

Very good Positive: It was comfortable, well equipped & in a very good location Negative: There was some mould in the shower which we cleaned. Could have done with a welcome food pack ( including milk in fridge ) as it was quite expensive ( almost £300 for 2 nights )

Positive: We found the cottage very cosy, a home from home. The facilities were excellent. The location was ideal to enjoy Withby, all the main attractions were within walking distance. Negative: The beds were too soft, and the bath towels were too small.

Negative: Dedicated parking would be a real benefit.

Pristine and homely. Positive: Cosy, pristine cottage located in a quiet, yet accessible and convenient, area of Whitby. Very homely feel! Comfortable beds and sofas, lots of board games and TV options for rainy days. Negative: Has its quirks, as the cottage itself is rather vertical and contained. Not an issue, however.

Great location for a stay in Whitby, just a few minutes walk and your right in the centre. Lovely and cosy cottage, felt right at home when we arrived.

We had a great stay in Whitby. The cottage matched the pictures and description perfectly and it was a great location for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area - a perfect base for a weekend away.

Positive: It is a 3-storey small, but stylish house which is located at a 10-minute walking distance away from the train and coach stations and the beautiful harbour. The owner was very kind to provide the key to us to meet our request. Negative: It was not an easy task to move our suitcases to the bed rooms when arrival and subsequently move them downstairs to the front door when departure , but I could comfim that it was a very good exercise to us.
