His royal Highness Jay sue and family... Positive: Close to £8 24 hour car park.. take note.. if you are staying more than one day you would be better paying 24 hours from the morning whatever time you would realistically get out to walk 3 minutes to the car park to give you good time for leaving with all your belongings.... It's also situated close to supermarkets and the town centre and beds were super comfy and more than big enough Negative: Trying to get the key from the box from the key safe because we put the code in then turned the only thing you can turn whilst pulling to no avail! The key safe needs to be updated or better instructions given.

Perfectly decent place, compared to other options was good value, location handy for station and town/beach. Daughter loved the attic room. Kitchen equipment/set up a bit on the basic side, some of the decor and fittings a bit tired and we had trouble with the internet on our final night (never resolved) but nice comfy beds and decent amount of space for 3/4 people.

Satisfactory but only because we weren’t there much Positive: The beds were comfy , the kitchen was adequate. Negative: 3 flights of steep stairs! Hot water took forever to come through. Shower head bracket was broken which made bathing difficult. My grandchildren complained that the flat had a strange smell. Bore no resemblance to the photos on line !!!

8 years they state they have been hosting, Its a family business. They definitely dont put what they offer very clear OR check the details of offer. The location was great for the town, lots to do! The accommodation was quirky in regards to where and decorated, but for what we paid and the issues that started from the minute we arrived. NOT WORTH IT. I have numerous photos and numerous emails in regards to issues, which i shouldnt of had to do but yet here i am. If your here on a stag or boozy long weekend then i would recommend, but with kids etc... oh no. Not happy, will not be using "host and stays" Will be pushing this through for investigation.

Unterkunft schön,Bedingungen katastrophal Positive: Sehr geräumig,sowie bequeme Betten.Insgesamt mit Wohlfühlcharakter. Alles nicht nagelneu,dafür aber sauber. Wir hatten die oberste FW ,mit 2.Schlaf/Kinderzimmer unterm Dach.(Ocean Wave) Negative: Keine Parkmöglichkeit vorm Haus, unbewachter Parkplatz ca. 300 m vom Haus weg.(10€/Tag)….nervig Das Haus liegt in einer ranzigen Gegend,es stinkt auf der Straße. Und am Schlimmsten,man muss erst 250 € Kation bezahlen + 10€ Gebühr,ehe man den Key Code per email bekommt. Das ist sicher kein Standard und hätte mich abgeschreckt,wenn ich diese Information zeitiger über Booking.com erhalten hätte. Fazit: Finger weg.

Good value for money Positive: It was a great location for all amenities Negative: Stairs to loft bedroom not suitable for younger children.

Cosy apartment once your in Positive: The location was really good right at the top of the high street and very near the train station. Once in the property it was comfortable and the beds were nice too. Negative: If you have any kind of mobility issues do not stay here it's up 3.5 sets of stairs and there steep steps too. The shower also is absolutely awful worst shower I've ever used I struggled to get the soap out my hair when I'd washed it. It's situated on an ally way which isn't nice rubbish, dog poo, and some very undesirable people. I was a mum with two girls traveling on my own and I'd not have walked down it in the dark so had to be in before dark. It's also next to a pub, right next to the pub and there was a fight with alot of swearing etc and my youngest child is 8! Not what I want her hearing .

Plenty of space & good value for money. Worth noting not suitable if have mobility issues. Positive: Lovely comfortable bed, & plenty of hot water. Negative: No washing up liquid! That's about it!

Positive: Aldi across the rd and witherspoon round the corner. Negative: No parking so we had to pay an extra £10 a day to leave the car elsewhere and walk to the accommodation. No reply to emails during our stay. Dirty communal area and bathroom very grubby. White shower curtain has turned orange. No essential items such as washing up liquid, cling film etc. One towel for the duration of stay. 3 flights of steep stairs to climb, so beware if disabled.

Positive: Perfectly location, nice apartment if ur young and can manage the stairs, not too good for a 67yr 60 yr Olds with copd n arthritis + a 26yr old with downs syndrome. Negative: Location.

Falsely advertised apartment. Positive: It was clean. Negative: The room we were given did not match the advertised room and pictures. It was smelly and cramped with mismatched furniture. You couldn't use the kitchen unless you shut the door as the stove and fridge were behind the door. There was a steep, narrow staircase to the second bedroom that we knew nothing about from our communication with the company, despite the fact they knew we had mobility issues. We were aware the unit was on the third floor but could manage that once a day. Can you imagine going to the bathroom, which was through the sitting room and through the dining room, during the night? You'd be awake from putting all those lights on!

Good price, easy instructions,clean Positive: Good price, decent location. Negative: Nothing really, was all ok. Maybe things like bit more washing up liquid, cleaning utensils,teaowels,but was no major issue

The flat is fine for a cheap option in central Scarborough located near the shopping area and train station. The flat is in need of renovation with an old carpet and bad smell.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID Positive: Nothing!! It was filthy... Made numerous call and text messages... requested a cleaner... they clean the bits I pointed out, not the apartment as requested. Felt like a really bad episode of 4 in a bed. They refunded £75... I want the rest back! All the reviews we read when we booked were reasonable. When we came back and looked, everyone had said the same . So they obviously knew the issue before we went. We even looked at booking somewhere else... but everything was ridiculously priced, being a bank holiday. Host and Stay, who we booked with were useless too... Negative: All of it! The filthy, the Sex lube and dirty wipes in the bedroom was the topper ... An awful place. AVOID!

Very disappointed with the excuse when I tried to cancel the booking said i have to give 60 days notice when booking to Positive: It was ok for the little time we spent in there Negative: Stairs going up to top room

All round an ok stay and a good holiday was had Positive: It was very close to the station and an aldi. It was really cheap and nicely decorated. 2 beds. Had everything that was needed. Cute little place. Negative: A query we had about something wasn't really dealt with. Nothing bad happened in the end but I was a little unsatisfied with the response.

Scissor sisters and 60th Birthday celebrations Positive: The location is good, although the street is quite scruffy and very dark at night. The beds were comfy Negative: When we opened the door to the property we were greeted with bird feathers and filthy rugs in the hallway, giving us a bad first impression. We had to walk up three flights of steep stairs, which there was no mention of. When we got into the apartment, there were bits all over the carpet and on the work surfaces, we had to vacuum and wipe around before we unpacked. The steps to the attic bedroom are extremely steep and would not be suited to an elderly or sick person. We were a party of four and there were only 3 cups, which meant we had to take it in turns to have a coffee/tea. We were asked for a £29 insurance bond which was not mentioned when we booked and which we will be asking to be returned as we are not sure that there was anything in the apartment worth £29. We will not be returning to the property.

Scarvados weekend Positive: Location good for our needs Negative: Due to the magnificent sunny weather the top room was very hot. A fan was in the room which helped. No other problems.

Positive: Excellent appointment and location

Avoid Positive: Bed was comfy Negative: It was very very dirty. I dont think anyone had cleaned it before we arrived. Thick in dust. 3 cups for 4 people. Had to wash before use. Luckily didn't need to use anything else. Items left in fridge from previous guests all out of date. Tried to contact host and stay but never got through I was always 4th in the queue. Would not recommend. Luckily did not book a private chef that they kept sending messages about!

Suited our needs Positive: Great location down a side street by main shopping street. 2 chargeable car parks very close and not too expensive Negative: Ideal for a younger fitter person due to lots of steep stairs to 3rd floor

Few nights away. Positive: Overall clean. Well equipped. Near to centre. Negative: Entrance to property needs a good hover. Downstairs residents smoking weed. Bedding has no protectes . On stripping the bed on leaving found stines on mattress. It's not nice to see. .

Adequate for the price. Positive: Centrally located. The apartment was just big enough for the four of us. Negative: Layout didn’t flow. The apartment and common staircase needs a really good deep clean. One roll of toilet paper for 4 people for 5 nights doesn’t meet needs. Up three flights.

Top floor abit of a hike to get upto but nice little flat ,bit of a weird set up with bathroom been next to living area and dining bit upstairs double bed really comfy tho but have to say they really need to sort shower out it was either freezing cold or scalding hot and not very strong water pressure over all would stay again if shower was sorted

Humble apartment in central location Positive: Good amenities and within walking distance of all main attractions. Beds were very comfy Easy to check in and out Negative: Parking was a little tricky, lots of steep stairs to get to the apartment and when you open the apartment door to go out you just have an immediate drop of stairs, was a little dangerous and difficult to get luggage up and down. Also had very noisy neighbours in the apartment below, you can literally hear everything. No freezer facilities Place could do with a dust in a few places. Shower not powerful enough and difficult to get a consistent temperature.

Pleasant stay Positive: Good location for what we enjoy in Scarborough. Clean, compact apartment with everything you need. Beds were extremely comfortable. Negative: Shower head holder was broken, which made showering an unpleasant experience. Also the door handle of the attic room was broken. We reported this damage on arrival as did not want to be held responsible, but the host & Stay seemed unaware.

The house was ok but some areas were dirty and the shower couldn’t be used as it wasn’t secured to the shower hooks and there were other things wrong no knob on the door to the attic bedroom cooker was really dirty and the tea towel was dirty when we got there blinds in the bedroom couldn’t pull the blinds I fixed one myself It was close to the town though

Great stay! Would return if in the area. Host is responsive and gave clear instructions on accessing the property. Had everything we needed for our weeks stay.

SHOCKING Positive: -first of all when you walk into the accommodation it stinks of musty oldness, when you get into the apartment the smell is horrific old musty like something has died in there. The smell was so bad we had to go get candle burners to mask the smell. And keep on at all times we were there, that's the only way you could put up with it. It does not go away. You can only open the bedroom windows slightly in the bedroom next to kitchen. The lounge window does not open so can't let any air in and the bathroom window which has bird poo alover when you open the bathroom window it smells so bad of bird poo which is dangerous to inhail and you look onto a courtyard dwelling which is totally covered in pigeon/seagull poo wanted to vomit when opened the window which also had poo allover the outside of it had to close window and keep close as dangerous to inhail. Top floor bedroom window has bird poo on it and then when open birds could poo inside property. No ventilation in property apart from window mentioned that was safe to open in bedroom. -secondly, property was dirty floors dirty rugs filthy stained, sideboards, shelfs not been wiped over the dust was terrible, cooker top filthy, toilet brush left on floor not in brush holder, windows not been cleaned , nothing wiped over properly. The pictures of the property do not show the actual property in its actual rundown old poor state. The only thing that was clean was the bedding. I spent 2 hrs cleaning before I could even try to come to terms with staying in this top floor flat which it actually is. Everything is old rundown and needs updating. -thirdly heating did not work no matter how many times we tried, contacted property, and they just quoted exactly what was in manual. Contacted them again didn't get back to us until second night at 10.50 pm when we were in bed asking if the heating was working. We froze for 2 nights in property with no heating. Nobody coming to sort issue.

Lovely place as described Would definitely stay again

Great location but unclean. Positive: Location was great. Negative: Cleanliness wasn't great. Towels were dirty. Bathroom needed cleaning. Couch was filthy. Hallways leading up to the room was very dirty.

Cleanliness let it down. Positive: Location good for town centre. Railway station nearby for cheap parking. Apartment was well equipped with 2 double beds. Negative: On arrival chips (as in the food type) and found on nest of tables in the living area. Underside of dishes/plates dirty. Few stains on bed cushions. Holes in bed linen. If contractors are being used then maybe a quiet word is needed.

Negative: Wasn't exceptionally clean. The kitchen and bathroom were dirty and the floors hadn't been hoovered. Had to clean the bath before use as it was filthy and had hair in it. Quite a lot of sitting dust on skirtings. Could do with being deep cleaned.

A nice holiday flat in a perfect location, 3min away from the train station. Positive: All good, it's a very nice flat, with everything you need for a holiday stay. Negative: Stairs to the flat and up into the second bedroom are really steep and narrow. We were ok, but it's not suitable for people with mobility issues.

If not a marvellous weather it would be a disappointment. Positive: location, proximity to high street and beaches, spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds. Negative: The property wasn’t cleaned properly. The toilet rim was dirty, the carpet wasn’t cleaned and hoovered. We kept finding garbage under the sofa, on the carpet and other places around. There’s black mould around the bathtub. Dining table is far away from the kitchen (it’s near the bathroom) and have to cross the entire living room. The blinds were broken in one of the bedrooms. Top 3rd floor, narrow staircase and almost none existing landing area. It’s the same managing company that let Old Cottage in Whitby, which we loved. So we were quite shocked to find this apartment in Scarborough in such a poor condition.

Amazing week away that I will always treasure Positive: The location was soo handy,right near the train station and town and an Aldi just 5 minutes walk,I loved the lay out of the property and how their was an attic room with a sky light, I loved where the bathroom was and how it was downstairs,the sofabed was great too. How it had everything I needed and the decorations etc. Negative: The water was too hot!! And out the back it looks dirty and smelt but I didn’t look out or smell it so didn’t cause any problem and very minor detail,

We had a lovely time, unfortunately the weather was against us Positive: Great location. The apartment was lovely. Negative: Could have been cleaner. Did not expect as many stairs.

Great little flat. It’s a little bit away from the main beaches, but easy walking distance. A few changes could really help to Improve our stay- Original listing says free parking available, this isn’t the case. The train station is very close with parking but you have to pay. We had a message to say check out was 12, then on the day of check out another message which said 10, this was confusing and I’m still not sure what time check out should have been. Few broken items like the bin lid, and light in the bathroom above mirror not working these being fixed would just add the finishing touches. Otherwise the flat was very clean and we would stay here again. Hosts were great at replying to Messages and provided plenty of information.

Positive: Liked the fact had 2 bedrooms and it was in central location. It was clean and had everything for a self catering break. Negative: The stairs to it were a bit steep. There was no where in the bathroom to hang your towels to dry or while you were having a shower. There was no where close to park the car. Although the bed in the main room was large it was made up of two mattresses so there was a lump in the middle

We enjoyed Scarborough and just used the flat for sleeping. Positive: It was a very comfortable and well equipped flat Negative: The entrance on the ground floor was dirty there was a bath mat that looked like it had human excrement on!!! There was a glass table that was dirty and the whole place needed a good clean.

Comfortable! Positive: The beds were amazing! Perfect space with all of the facilities you could need. Really cosy space!

Well decorated apartment in a great location spoilt by poor cleaning. Positive: Great location - 10 min walk from south shore. Negative: The smell…. After much searching found a milk spillage under the sink. Apparently apartment had been cleaned for our arrival, but how the cleaner did not smell an issue I don’t know. It stunk! Cleaned best we could but smell lingered.

Positive: The beds were great and location good. Negative: There was a really strong smell of 'gone off milk' which was coming from the kitchen. It was really bad....on further inspection we could see spilt milk under the fridge...NEEDS CLEANING PROPERLY !! Would also suggest new fridge as can't store anything in the door - all shelves broken. Bathroom was OK but could maybe do with an upgrade....

Great location, nicely decorated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Scarborough, even feather duvets!

Reasonable accommodation in an unappealing location. Positive: It was bright in the bedrooms. It was not too far from the beach and amenities. It had all the basic utensils and utilities. Negative: The lounge was dark and cluttered. The shower was poor. It did not feel especially clean. It was in a back street which seemed very sinister and unwelcoming.

Positive: Nice location. 2 level apartment. There are everything you need in apartment. Really very comfortable beds. But not nice smell, especially in attic bedroom Negative: Smell

Positive: Good location and close to all amenities, comfortable beds, well equipped. Negative: Cleanliness wasn't up to standards and has previously been commented on by previous guess, need to be more thorough with this and take on board guess comments.

Positive: The apartment was central and decorated lovley. The beds were vprtb really comfy a d the towels and linen were of a very high standard Negative: The numbers on the intercoms didn't match up so I disturbed a poor stranger. The intercom buzzer didn't work so my brother had to descend the 3 flights Io let me in. The living room whilst looking nice was not comfortable in the slightest and was really dark due to no natural. Light as the dining room window was diffused, the stairs were really steep. And rbe outer door opened onto the stairs.

Cleaning issue Positive: The apartment was good and it had had a lot of money spent on it. It was comfortable and the bedding etc was lovely. Negative: The appartment was very dirty. The kitchen and bathroom especially. We had to ask for a re clean but it was very poorly done. Please get cleaners who actually care as after reading the reviews, this is a constant problem.

Lovely stay in centre of Scarborough Positive: The apartment on the whole was perfect. Great facilities, well decorated, comfy beds. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal and the owners are very friendly and courteous. Negative: The bedroom shutters didn't really keep the sunlight out which made it a little difficult to sleep. Also, it would be nice if it was dog friendly.

Home from home. Positive: The layout of the property. Negative: Having to phone because the toilet wouldn't flush. To be fair though they sorted it asap so thanks for that! 🙂 Also, no parking, a shame you can't get some kind of permit for the parking spaces directly opposite the flat!

Very enjoyable, we will book to stay here again Positive: The location was great! A couple of minutes walk from the train station and Wetherspoons just around the corner :-) close to an Aldi and other pubs and shops. The beds were very comfortable with lovely crisp white bedding on and the living room was very cosy with throws to put over yourself while watching tv at night. We will stay here again Negative: The stairs to the apartment were a big disappointment because I wasn’t aware we had to go up 4 flights to get to the apartment we had booked but once in the apartment we was more than happy

I went with a group of friends for a birthday and it did not disappoint! We had a lovely time! Positive: Had a lovely stay in ocean wave! The rooms were very nicely decorated and there was a coffee machine which was a lovely touch! Extremely comfortable beds, slept like a baby! The beach was round the corner and some gorgeous restaurants too! We will definitely be back! Thank you😊 Negative: We had one very cold day! Had to wrap up warm👍🏼

We had a fabulous stay in ocean wave! The flat was lovely and cozy and exceeded our expectations. Positive: The beds were so comfortable and we liked the fact the hosts had thought of everything. The kitchen had everything and we loved our morning coffee with the coffee machine! We travelled down to York Christmas market for the day so the location was perfect! (2 minute walk) The flats were located in a great location and there was lots of Christmas decorations which was a lovely touch! There are some lovely cafes and bars in Scarborough and something for everyone! Have already recommended ocean wave to friends and will definitely be back.
