Gute Ferienwohnung in Strandnähe Positive: gute Nähe zum Strand, dem Bahnhof und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten Es ist ein großes Wohnzimmer sowie Schlafzimmer vorhanden Die Küche ist so eingerichtet das man seine eigenen Mahlzeiten zubereiten kann. Negative: das Apartment liegt in einer etwas dunklen Gasse, wo man sich als alleinreisende Frauen nicht unbedingt sicher fühlt Gäste die im 1. Geschoss wohnen hört man durch die Zimmer laufen und auch reden, was in der Nacht störend sein kann.

Do not stay here! Disgustingly dirty accomodation with exceptionally poor customer service Negative: Disgustingly dirty accomodation with exceptionally poor customer service. As soon as we entered the property there was a distinct smell of mould and damp. There was mud on the bed spread and black mould everywhere in the bathroom. The floor was dirty and there were cobwebs everywhere. The shower gave out freezing cold or boiling hot water only. The bath was not possible to turn on, so we had to wash using a bowl where we mixed the water to a temperature that was bareable. There was leftover grilled cheese in the oven from a previous stay and the bottom of the bathroom door was filthy. I have never stayed somewhere where I have been so uncomfortable or where I felt the conditions were an actual hazard to health. My partner who suffers with allergies had a respiratory reaction to the extent of the black mould whilst we were there. The images used to advertise the accomodation are incredibly misleading and are not an accurate representation of the condition or cleanliness of the property which is a clear breach of the consumer rights act 2015 and the exposure to black mould is a breach of UK Health and Satefy Legislation. After notifying the property of these issues, it is clear no attempt will be made to rectify them. The company (Host and Stay) offered us a 15% discount on another stay with them...you couldn't pay us to stay with them again. Avoid at all costs.

As soon as I walked through the flat door, the smell of damp hit me, after leaving the windows open all week, it faded. It seemed to be coming from the units in the microwave area. I had problems with the remote sticking, for the tv. There was a tap missing on the bath, so I couldn't run the bath normally, I had to use the shower head and there was no hope of warm water, it was either red hot or flat cold. There was no view in the property, as the windows had all been frosted, the entrance hall was dirty. The location is used as a cut through for Aldi, so there's a lot of footfall throughout the day and some people from the dodgy looking flats opposite, like to rev their cars on an evening. There wasn't much noise from the pub next door but the property was on a backstreet that isn't well lit on an evening and it didn't really feel like a safe area after dark. The sofa is probably the hardest sofa that I've ever sat on, it felt more like a wooden bench than a sofa. The water pressure in the kitchen was crazy, it went from slow to rapid fast, with the slightest of touches. It was either slow but manageable or like the rapids in a fast flowing river and usually soaking me because I touched the tap slightly. The crockery and cutlery needed washing before use because they were dirty. I had to ring customer services to get the key code as I was setting off because although I was promised that they would send me it, they never did. I wouldn't book anything with "Host n Stay" again.

Firstly i was told (and the website states) there was parking.. only for me to find on arrival there was infact no parking. Instead i was expected to park 10 mins away at a pay and display car park. (for reference, i was on my own with my young daughter). The cleanliness of the property was DISGUSTING and very unhygienic. We had to stay 1 night and i refused to stay any further, having to find myself alternate accommodation. This company is refusing to give me a refund for the state of the property (i have over 100 photos as evidence). Instead they offered to come in and clean it (this is whilst we were already in the property so mine and my daughters personal belongings were there). And cant understand why this wasnt an acceptable resolution for me! The customer resolutions team have continued to try to intimidate and patronise me also which just sums up this company. Absolutely disgusting! Avoid!

Positive: Apartment was comfortable and had everything for a self catering apartment Negative: The view from the front window. Looking out onto the rear of shops. But no big deal really

Great location ! Dirty apartment Positive: The location it was easy access for town and all amenities Negative: The property was backwards , the living room was bright and tidy , The bedroom was dark , no windows , damp and cold . To get to the kitchen and bathroom you have to walk through the bedroom which was tight as the bed is basically 2 single beds pushed together. The cleanliness was appalling , dirty throw on the bed all stained , dust was a major factor also cobwebs all over the ceilings which have been there for quite a while . You can also hear every noise from the apartment above . Also the shower curtain is held up with cable ties

Never Again Positive: The location was great, and the bed was super comfortable. Negative: Doors to the flat are very dodgy , main door was constantly left unlocked ! The door lock to flat was a nightmare to open and very unsafe if there was a fire. Carpets were filthy and sticky. The kitchen is off the bedroom, and you have to switch kitchen light on for the bathroom to go on ! The shower is very difficult to regulate it was either scalding hot or freezing. The outside was all weeds, and windows were covered in bird feaces.

Positive: Location excellent Negative: Very stuffy carpets need a good wash

Perfect location Positive: The apartment was close to all amenities. Negative: The front door was a bit tricky to lock, But apart from that minor problem everything was fine

Positive: Excellent location for the train station, very clean and everything you needed..will definitely book it again

Positive: Confertable bed, great location. Negative: Cooking utensils, pots and pans needed a clean. Mixer tap on shower washardto get correct temperature. Either scolding or freezing with a slight touch of tap.

Very clean and tidy accommodation. Good location just around the corner from the station. The beds are two single beds pushed together but very comfortable. This is a place I'd definitely stay again.

Positive: Bright and welcoming. Quirky. Comfiest bed EVER Negative: En suite kitchen was just odd and parking an added expense. Cost us an additional £70!

The Flat was a super little base to explore the area. It was clean and had all the equipment you needed

it was okay. Positive: The location was good and the apartment overall were nice Negative: The toaster didn’t work, the shower head weren’t working, mould in the cupboards which was then found on plates and the wifi was absolutely terrible.

Positive: Das Apartment war angenehm groß und ruhig gelegen. Negative: Das Bett war sehr weich und für uns unbequem und die restliche Einrichtung war auch leider nicht sonderlich gemütlich. Die Eingangstür zum Gebäude war fast konstant offen da sie nicht automatisch schließt. Das ist vor allem unangenehm da die Wohnung in einer relativ dunklen Seitenstraße liegt.

A little disappointing but we had a good time. Negative: We would have liked more hand towels. The kitchen only had the very basics. The cups and some of the cutlery were dirty and the toaster did not work. On the plus side the bed was lovely but we were surprised there wasn’t a mattress protector on it, it was already getting stained and I would have thought that would have been a priority on such a good bed.

Brilliant location , Very Helpful staff who are in constant communication making sure you are happy. Fully recommend and Positive: Perfect located for train station and city centre especially with my dad being 79. Located next Aldi and other shops too for essentials on evening too. Negative: Nothing at all really ☺️

There was an incredible amount of flies in the property. I reported this to the host who promised to get rid of them. Whilst I was out someone had been round but done an inadequate job as there were still many flies. I purchased fly spray and did the job myself which is not really fair considering what I paid for 2 days. I asked the host to provide a cleaner to sweep up the many dead flies, no one turned up despite promises. Whilst the host has apologised many times this really is not at all a satisfactory way to deal with complaints. At the very least I should be offered a decent compensation for the inconvenience caused. The property itself was in good order.

Enjoyable trip spoilt by customer service Positive: Good location. Very clean and tidy, large comfy bed. Easy key access. Good information pack given Negative: Watch out for hidden extras in the price. I had to pay refundable £250 damage waiver which I knew about before booking. Once I booked was given the option of the £250 or a non refundable £25 as a damage insurance. I thought this was a scam as I have holiday insurance I was then told I would be charged £10 service charge. When I contacted customer service I was dealt with by numerous people one of which promised me a refund, one said I was lying and a third refused to refund it. I have still not received a refund of the £250 damage waiver.

Good base for holiday. Positive: Very close to town centre, but not on main road. Parking nearby. Negative: A small issue with the cleaning. Hosts offered to come out when reported, but I had already dealt with it.

A beautiful apartment,perfect as a base while going for days out. Positive: the apartment was beautifully furnished and clean.The bed was extremely comfortable and I was impressed with the quality of the bedding and towels left for us.The kitchen was well equipped basically a home from home.I also loved how close to everything the apartment was in regards to the beach etc.It’s a straight 10-15 min walk straight through town to the sea front and a 2 min walk to the train station where you can catch buses frequently to get to places like Whitby,Bridlington etc and they are cheap to ride to so perfect for days out.Also close to Aldi,one stops and takeaways.I loved that a folder was left with all the information about buses and local tourist spots. Negative: My only gripe is the kitchen and bathroom light been on the same switch but nothing that hindered the holiday

Lovely stay. Great location

Positive: The decor and it was in town. Negative: Next door to a pub and located on a busy alley/ walk through. View was the front of maisonettes. The fridge was smelly and had rotten veg from previous occupants. No change of bedding linen, even when I asked domestic/ housekeeper. He informed me that he would bring some at the agreed time of 5 pm on Friday 7th. Never showed up. it's just the little things that can put a dampener on doing a return visit.

Positive: The location was good for shops and entertainment Negative: The flat was in need of refurbishment the heating system didnt work properly none the internal doors closed I had trouble receiving phone calls they kept cutting out

Positive: Brilliant location, excellent communication from the property renters.everything you needed was there and very comfortable bed. Negative: Nothing really.

Lovely apartment but situated in a back street... Positive: Self catering. Close to shops, cafes, takeaways and restaurants. Beach was around 10 mins walk. The bed was very comfortable and felt like a Queen size. Negative: In the photographs, on Booking.com, it did not show that a pub was immediately attached to the house. Just felt slightly uncomfortable when returning in the evening due to the volume of the pub customers (but that's just a personal opinion).

Well recommend staying here again lovely place Positive: How lovely and homely abd clean it was, couldn't find a fault with the place Negative: There wasn't anything I didn't like

relaxing, a great location would definitely return Positive: the property was very central but still quiet and very well decorated and kept clean Negative: kept tripping over the corner of the rug in the bedroom as we came in from the kitchen and shower curtain wouldn’t go all the way across/ around so water was getting everywhere

Acceptable Positive: Very large, comfortable bed Negative: Location- a rear terraced property next door to a pub and with very poor outlook. No parking.

I’ve included it above . it’s central for most things can’t go wrong Positive: our stay was good centeral only downside was no parking. Negative: with the greatest of respect a bit more detailed cleaning ie mirrors and little things wouldn’t go a miss. razor light didn’t work needs chain on bath plug. these are things I would suggest needs attention when general maintenance is done as I wouldn’t suggest sending maintenance out specially as this would cost too much.

Beautiful property, with beautiful decor. In a prime location only a stones through away from the train station which was perfect for us. The property had the perfect amount of amenities Smart tv being a great touch. We felt very much at home with a very comfy layout ideal for couples weekends as it’s so central. Definitely a place we would revisit happily and recommend to others. X

Lovely but not great Positive: Location was good, close to town centre, and beach/sea. Lovely apartment, very clean tidy and comfortable. Negative: When we arrived at 3.35pm which was after booking time of 3pm the cleaner was still there cleaning room so we had to go away and come back half hour later, which wasn't ideal. There was a dead pigeon in the yard, which we could see from the kitchen window. And the rug corners were curled over so we kept tripping over them

I went for business and a break. It is a shame the place has declined. Positive: The location was very good to reach all the attractions but I did not like the situation of the apartment. Very scruffy area. Negative: I like Scarborough itself but unfortunately it is some of the locals that spoil it.

perfect getaway spot Positive: property was in a perfect location, a 2 min to the town centre a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 2 min walk from an Aldi for bits and pieces we needed to pick up for the weekend. property was lovely and clean with there being coffee pods and tea bags already there when we arrived which I thought was a nice touch. perfect for a nice few days away as flat is pretty big so you don’t feel cramped into a small space.

Dreadful..not adhering to covid standards Bbc Positive: Location was fine Negative: Water was haphazard..hot and then cold when showering Glass table top was loose and needing moving to sit at table...it all came apart which had then to be held by 2 adults to support back on plinth ..could have been really dangerous The bin stank The towels were old and smelt of tobacco smoke The apartment was top flat up 3 flights of fairly narrow stairs and lights were not working ..we had to use torch to see our way On last day when we checked drawers to make sure we hadn't left anything there were several pairs of underwear in bedroom drawer If this is an example of covid compliance it appears that this was lacking as obviously place not cleaned as underwear would have been noticed If we'd seen this when we first arrived we would have not stayed and demanded a refund as this is particularly disgusting and has been the last straw as we were already disappointed

Great little place. First impressions when you find it are that it isn’t in the prettiest of places. However, the fact it is just off the main town (easy short walk) actually means it’s lovely and quiet. Facilities are perfect. Everything you could need. Lovely and clean. Easy check in and out. Massive and incredibly comfortable bed with crisp white bedding felt really luxurious. Top hotel standard. Clean bathroom. Essentials all provided. Can recommend. Had a lovely three day stay.

Review of Gallery apartments Positive: The bed is comfortable. Negative: Unfortunately there is a stale smoke smell in the apartment. The layout isn't very good as the kitchen is in between the bathroom and bedroom. The street is not appealing. Okay but definitely not worth the price.

Great central location. Living area looks deceiving bigger in photos. Still very comfortable for a few days stay. Parking at train station was only a 5 walk away and wasn't much money for the few days either. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Very bad customer service! We was charged extra £40 for cleaning service! (Should be included like all other places,never happened to me before) and then when me and my partner arrived in place we tried to refresh our self and enjoy rest of our evening but we couldn’t because in room we didn’t have towels,soap or and worst bedsheets!!! We was waiting outside 3h for someone to clean place and put fresh towels,bedsheet itc Is a joke because day before someone explain to us that £40 is for service! And that’s not the end of this because day before we was planning to check out I get the message with instructions how to clean place before we leave! Not recommend! I will never go back there again!
