Stayed there for a month for work, enjoyed every day, owners tentative but respectful of privacy. Will definitely return. Highly recommended. By the way, their home made ice cream is off the charts! Thanks again Wayne

A very pleasant weekend stay

Positive: It was a perfect place for us. Very comfortable and a great destination for the places we wanted to visit. Negative: We arrived in the dark and it was pretty hard to find. Needs more lights on the entrance. We rang the number for host and stay, not helpful at all 😔.

Lovely place to stay... Positive: The accommodation itself was excellent. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was great as we visited Port Lympne. The owner of the property came to greet us after arrival and he was very friendly and was available if we needed anything. Negative: The only thing that let this property down was that we didn't receive the extra check in information required from the company the owner uses, Host & Stay, prior to arrival. The address given on the booking took us to the wrong place on a different road and we weren't sent the code to the lock box for the keys. We didn't realise we needed extra information, otherwise I would've chased it up earlier. Fortunately there was a number to call and each time we got through quite quickly and the problems were resolved but signal in the area is terrible so I had to stand in the rain to sort each problem out. This wouldn't put me off staying here though as the accommodation was lovely once we found it and got in.

Als je echt even onder de radar wil blijven, kun je je daar lekker verschuilen. Positive: De afgelegen plek met de rust en de volledig uitgeruste keuken met apparatuur waaronder zelfs een wasmachine met droog capaciteit. Van diverse direct handige benodigdheden was een startvoorraad aanwezig, scoops voor de vaatwasser en wasmachine, cups voor het koffie apparaat, wc-papier. In de koelkast een flesje melk en een doosje eieren en in de vriezer 2 ijsjes. Negative: Het bankstel was zo ingezakt dat je er niet normaal in kon zitten. Het bed was slechts 160 breed en heel zacht waardoor je daar ook onprettig in weg zakte en aan de kanten er bijna uitrolde. Mijn reispartner was geblesseerd en kon zich zo niet ontspannen. Zijn na 1 nacht vertrokken terwijl we er 3 hadden geboekt. Door de afgelegen ligging, hadden we daar geen telefonisch bereik en het aanwezige wifi-netwerk bood ook onvoldoende signaal om met de buitenwereld te communiceren. Het verzetten van de Eurotunnel boeking vanwege het afbreken van de vakantie lukte daardoor niet, wat voor extra frustratie zorgde.

Lovely quiet barn cottage in the countryside. Positive: We liked the quiet location, which was convenient for all our destinations. We liked the welcoming gifts from the owners, who live on the site. Negative: We were not prepared for 2 nights of mosquito hunting and advise any future guest to be mindful when doors and windows are opened.

Our stay at Oak Barn was the perfect choice for our last couple of nights in The UK. The property was well equipped and very comfortable. The stand out features for us were the lovely comfy bed, the quiet surroundings and the much needed washer/dryer. We really appreciated the thoughtful goodies left by the host that included their own brand of ice cream...a delicious sweet treat. Thank you!

Just Perfect !! No need to say more. Positive: Location was perfect. Quiet, which is what we like, but easy to get to places once you found you way round the country roads. Just ideal. Property excellent - we were in one of the lodges (3) in a row overlooking large lawn with outdoor seating. Had table and seats outside each property also, which was nice especially with the hot weather. Indoor very well laid out and good quality fittings everywhere. Very comfortable and wi-fi was well used. When you look outside at night it is totally black - and quiet... Met Sally the owner who was lovely and helpful. Loved her ice cream which was left for us - will be buying now home !! Appreciated the milk and biscuits too. We loved it and will definitely book again and recommend to others. We did appreciate it that you could book for 3 nights like us, or 1 or 2 nights - not always a full week as for us its not always possible to get 7 days away - this was just perfect. Negative: Bedroom is lovely. Bed very comfortable. A fan was also provided, which was great with this hot weather. If you like lots of clothes etc not a lot of space to put them but to be honest nowhere gives you masses of space for clothing - we were fine with the space but it depends on the individual and how long you were staying.

Beautiful little cabin, very cosy and clean. Had a love few days staying here and will definitely come back again.

Perfect for our needs. Positive: Quiet, cosy, perfect private retreat after a days sightseeing. Comfortable bed, great shower. Negative: I found the appliances a little tricky to operate. Could have done with recycling bins outside

Wonderful well equipped cottage, very comfortable & peaceful Positive: This is a lovely comfortable cottage & very well equipped kitchen. Great communication from the hosts and a lovely welcome pack.

A lovely place to relax. Well needed at the time. Positive: The size of the place, peaceful and very clean Negative: Would have liked a slip mat in shower, and being a small person couldn't reach the crockery too well as cupboards were high, but that's my problem not the hosts.

Ietwat klein maar gezellig huisje waar alles is wat je nodig hebt. Alleen een kast voor kleding is er niet maar met een ladekastje en de nachtkastjes kwamen we een heel eind. Een mooie omgeving. De plek zelf is rustig met vogeltjes om je heen en ook de eekhoorn laat zich geregeld zien. Erg vriendelijke gastheer en gastvrouw.

Positive: It was so peaceful. I enjoyed sitting on the patio eating breakfast. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable.

The Oak Barn was a very cosy and comfortable stay, everything we needed was at hand! They even provided eggs, milk and ice cream for us to enjoy! The communication was quick and friendly! Definitely another reason to come back! Thank you!

A beautiful place to stay pretty much a home away from home equipped with everything you may need. Beautiful serene surroundings. Hosts were lovely and proactive with ensuring nothing extra was needed and that we had settled in nicely. Check in was easy and stress free finding the cabins was easy too as described. We definitely recommend a stay here to friends and family and to come back soon!

Really Lovely Place Positive: Really lovely place, clean, tidy and well looked after. Comfy bed, and lovely new facilities. We will definitely consider coming back again we loved it! Negative: The WIFI signal was dreadful :( we barely got any signals on our phones and the TV lagged so much whilst trying to watch films or YouTube. Maybe it could do with upgrading? Very small and petty thing, the welcome book said we should find some butter and bread, however we didn't get this only the milk,eggs and honey, but not a big deal!

It's middle of nowhere and very isolating, good for old folks Positive: It's just in the middle of no where, felt like one was imprisoned and quite difficult to locate. D whole compound or so to speak porch had very dirty surroundings filled with fallen leaves that hasnt seen a broom in ages, it wasnt fair to pay that kind of amount to come into a dirty surrounding. The inside had good facilities, but very tight cottage felt like those cottages in d old story book of the 16th centuries. Honestly not good for young vibrant guests. You'd be mad at yourselves n feel very isolated like in a far away cave . Transportation is almost non existence bus times r not honored which frm google n passerby happens only once or twice a day and u'd endup just waiting endlessly. Woe beside d person if it begins to rain while at it. Well, without a rented car, you are OYO (on your own). Good for vacation for very old people in their 80s to 100s. Mayb for 1 person certainly not for two bcos you'd practically be bombing into each other to move around in there.... didn't even take any single photo shoot in there bcos i was counting, days , mins hrs and secs to quickly exhaust the stay since it's non refundable Negative: State of the environment was dirty. felt very isolated like in a far away cave . Transportation is almost non existence. No side attractions No where to go etc Was not happy that it's total booking value is non refundable its not fair to clients that want to cancel n r willing to pay a fraction of booking fee

The accommodation is lovely, we had a very comfortable stay and would recommend for a quiet rural stay but still pretty central, close to many places in Kent and East Sussex, e.g Dover, Canterbury, Rye.

Great place would stay again. Not sure if it’s mentioned on the page about paying the minimum of £25 for insurance against damages - we were surprised by that one. But all in all very good.

This stay was so cozy and so secluded.. We loved the scenery and the host was so lovely on our first day. We definitely recommend it for people who wants a lovely staycation. Highly recommended and close to Canterbury if you want to visit. Lovely safari also close by
