Extremely pleasant, peaceful stay. Tulip Cottage is in a lovely secluded spot. Quite far from Belford village itself, so it's best to stock up on provisions beforehand, as there's no nearby shops. The bathroom was great. Heated floor. Bed was very comfortable, which is crucial for us. Would definitely stay again.

Tulip Cottage Positive: Excellent location for leisure activities, hiking, walking and visiting historical sites. Cottage was very clean and had all the facilities needed for a holiday break.
Very good, but I wouldn't re book this cottage Positive: Well maintained and good value for money. In excellent location for all Northumberland's beauty spots. Negative: However we found the bed and the settee / chairs quite uncomfortable. The seating is the modern style of very deep front to back cushions which doesn't the leg length of most people. Also, I broke one of my golden rules which is never book a cottage with a WC only on the ground floor. Very good but wouldn't re book this cottage.
Good stay, very near to Bamburgh, would recommend Positive: liked that it had a kitchen which included a cooker, microwave and fridge. Parking was near, it was clean and tidy and each room was warm. Bathroom was on the ground level, to the bottom of the stairs. Negative: communication can be improved by sending through the keycode the day before travel without having to complete check-in instructions. although it says the form only takes a few minutes, on this trip i was staying in several location, each with different instructions and this email was missed. I therefore did not receive the keycode and had to phone up in the evening for it. in this busy world of emails for work emails for home, i'd urge you to remove this step. I was one person, so there's not anything to prepare beforehand. If there was, you should incorporate questions at the point of booking. Also, far too many automated emails during and after my stay, all with the same information! Why? unnecessary.
Positive: Nice, warm place, big and comfortable bed, luxury bathroom. Negative: The internet is very weak, but the hosts warn about it on a note in the kitchen near the entrance door.
Fantastic little getaway cottage. Positive: Everything. It's was clean, comfortable, cosy and everything we needed was there. The host even left us a bottle of prosecco to welcome in the new year. The area was great and not too far from bamburg, anwick and seahouses. It was perfect. We will definitely be back. Negative: Impossible to find anything not to like.
Positive: Nice quiet cottage , we spent most of the time out walking etc , good base , poor Wi-Fi but that didn’t bother me . Plenty of towels etc , we didn’t cook but I’m sure it’s possible . Negative: Management is dire ! I won’t book again for that reason, was told 12 hrs before check in I had to pay another £25 waiver fee or else I couldn’t have access code ! Good job I phoned 3 times & spoke to rude individuals or else we wouldn’t be able to enter ! I’ve read many a complaint regarding this but no action taken , so avoid Host & Stay

Unsuitable for those with mobility issues as there was no mention in the description that the bathroom was downstairs and the listed dishwasher was absent. There were no instructions for any of the equipment. We expected a fridge with a freezer compartment and the remote freezer is a mess, broken door compartment fronts and almost impossible to use. We could not access the 'Welcome pack' as we do not have smart phones and there should be written instructions available. The unmentioned remote nature of the site (no warning of very very narrow lanes) meant that there were no amenities close by and most hosts allow access until 11am on the final day, not 10am. There were no spare bulbs and when the lounge bulb failed we were left without the main light . Final point is that the shower door does not close fully and needs adjusting.
Positive: The quiet location, the space in the rooms. Negative: Beer can from previous guest still on decking area. The decking area was full of cobwebs and in desperate need of painting. The tub on the decking area had one weed in it, no plants or shrubs and the same for the area in front of the decking. Some TLC needed in a couple of areas.

Wonderful little find! Positive: Although located on a one track county road (did give me some anxiety on day 1!) the property was located so close to many attractions it was wonderful. The outside seating area was a real treat and I enjoyed many a late afternoon out there enjoying the peace and tranquility of the place in the wonderful sunshine. I would recommend and be happy to stay again if I happened to return to the area.

Had a lovely stay at Tulip cottage, everything was as described and perfect for what we needed. The location was quiet and tranquil, had assigned off road parking and clear instructions on how to access the property. The weather was kind so had the opportunity to sit out on the deck with a coffee and listen to the birds in the wood opposite. The cottage was definitely value for money and we’ll be back if we need something in the area again.
We had a problem with bees in the bedroom - dead ones on the windowsill that hadn't been cleaned away and live ones flying around, which meant we could not sleep in the bedroom. We reported the issue to Host and Stay straight away but still haven't heard anything from them. In the end, we had to contact the owner direct - they contacted us back and came and investigated while we were out but did nothing to resolve the problem, nor clean the dead bees away. Not impressed!
Peaceful,Comfortable and well furished Positive: Well furnished carprt appeared quite new and was comfortable to walk on, bed large and comfortable (we found pillows particularly comfortable,) quiet scenic location, Felt as if in heart of country yet only 5 minutes by car from Bamborough. Negative: Fear an trepedation getting to property as single track road in both directions. That said we never met anyone coming the otherway. As mentioned well furnished but some of the utilities in short supply. Cleaning liquid and clothes should be in both kitchen and bathroom. Crockery and Cutlery just about adequate.
Lovely cottage and wonderful location, would stay again! Positive: Excellent location, very comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, lovely garden space, and fabulous underfloor heating in the bathroom. Very spacious and easy parking. Would definitely stay again. Negative: It was mostly very clean, the bathroom itself was spotless but there was some mould coming on the bathroom blinds and a couple of rouge cobwebs around the stairs and front door, but very good overall.

Positive: A very comfortable and roomy semi detached cottage. A lovely large bedroom with very comfortable double bed and modern bathroom, Allotted car parking space directly outside of the cottage in the courtyard. All the facilities required - freezer was located across the yard in a shared utility room. 10 min drive down to Bamburgh although the lane you have to travel down to get there is quite pot-holed - we almost expect that now unfortunately. Communication with the letting company was good and the information about picking up the key from the key locker came through efficiently. Negative: No issues

Lovely cottage in very peaceful place. Positive: Great location and easy access to visiting sites,Iike Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses, Alnwick, Berwick on Tweed. Very peaceful and tranquil. Cottage nice and cosy, nice touches like tea coffee and sugar there ad milk on arrival. Heating on so cottage was nice and warm. Very comfy bed and underfloor heating in the bathroom a plus. Overall a fantastic stay. Bathobes, towels all nice touches, all utensils, and cooking facilities, glasses, there provided for you. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it. Negative: The grill pan had been left with a layer of fat in the bottom so we had to clean it even though we didn't use this. We had to unblock the outside drain it was full of leaves food waste and fat. The cooker and oven had fat splatter on the glass front. These could have been left by a previous guest, however should have been check before new quests arrive. This was our only gripe. Not a major issue but could have been avoided. Would still come back and would recommend it to others wishing for a love cottage staycation.

Cosy cottage Positive: The cottage is great a finished to a high standard Negative: The location is a bit remote, no local facilities. Nearest shops seahouses. It's also difficult to walk in the local area as footpaths are not maintained, and in many cases they are just obstructed by fencing or large numbers of trees felled.

A perfect location for those who want to explore the sights, Holy Island was only a 25 minute drive and Bamburgh Castle was a 15 minute drive or 50 minute walk The property had everything you could need
Calm and peaceful, a very comfortable stay. Positive: Property was beautifully set out and host provided a welcome pack. Lots of big soft towels and bath robes were provided. Negative: Property is a couple of miles from the main road on a B road. Fine for us but you definitely need a car.
Tulip Cottage was a perfect place to stay. In a lovely peaceful location but just two miles away from the wonderful village of Bamburgh. The cottage was immaculate on arrival and coffee and milk in the fridge was a lovely surprise. Highly recommended.

Positive: Lovely location, clean and well equipped Negative: Only slight negative was that I scanned the QR code and it gave incorrect login and password. I then clicked the link in the email from the property. They mentioned another login and password and they were different again, but also incorrect. I emailed and got no response. Fortunately found the correct info on the windowsill. Minor niggle but links/QR info need updating.

We loved it Positive: The cottage was immaculate. We were provided with everything we needed. A lot of thought went into anticipating the needs of guests and we really appreciated that. Negative: I cannot think of anything we didn't like.
Another lovely stay in this gem of a cottage. Positive: Cottage, price, location all excellent. Negative: Links to online guide to cottage were removed from Booking.com emails and website - so I couldn't access the document in advance. On arrival I found a QR code in the cottage itself. This worked.

Overall the accommodation was very comfortable and clean. However, our stay was hampered by an uncomfortable bed, which we reported to Dale during our stay and we understand he is working on resolving the issue. The location was perfect for us close to Bamburgh castle, Seahouses and many other points of natural and historical interest.

The stay was fantastic. Bit of a walk to Bamburgh (50 minutes) but ok. The hosts were not amenable Negative: That the hosts offered damage / insurance cover. Told us that it was refundable than refused to refund and stated it was our option to take it - that was not explained before paying.
The house was absolutely great. Spotlessly clean and had everything we needed within. Situated so close to the Points of Interest such as Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne, Berwick upon Tweed, Seahouses etc. WIFI was really hit and miss. Roads close by were narrow and more like tracks which could be a bit of a mission in the dark and rain though very little traffic to contend with to be fair

Amazing location for everything within 30 min drive. Negative: Older people may struggle with bathroom downstairs from bedroom. Curtain needed over back door. Hooks in bedroom for robes? Shower door a bit temperamental. WiFi poor.
Comfortable Stay Positive: Loved the large bedroom, the colour scheme in all the cottage, liked having the washer /dryer available. The decking was great- though only got to use it once due to bad weather! Negative: Only having freeview as tv package! If weather had been better it might not have mattered as much. An ice box would have been good- too far to keep going to the freezer in the laundry room for ice for drinks! This is first cottage we've stayed in without a welcome pack- but we're grateful for bottle of milk.
Cottage was in a tranquil location, unexpected extra insurance charges post booking disappointing. Positive: Great sized shower and well-appointed bathroom. Laundry facilities were clean. Lovely quiet and picturesque location. Negative: The unexpected extra charge for insurance after the booking was paid months in advance of our stay. The constant emails reminding us that damages would be charged if there was any damage or if the property was not left tidy when we left. It took the shine off the stay. Suggestion would be to clearly mark out the parking spaces for the 3 cottages as we returned several times over the course of the week to find other guests parking in the middle and not leaving enough space for 3 cars to park.
We had an absolutely wonderful time. Positive: The cottage was spotlessly clean and cosy. The cottage is tastefully decorated with every amenity you could possibly need catered for. It is extremely comfortable and set in a very peaceful location but it is a little isolated. Negative: There is no upstairs bathroom/toilet facilities.

Negative: Host & Stay were very annoying, too many emails and asking for damage waiver just before the holiday which wasn’t mentioned at time of booking and they keep the deposit even when you don’t break anything, so for this reason we would not stay again

What an idyllic setting we felt relaxed from the minute we arrived, absolutely beautiful place. Positive: We loved everything about our stay at Tulip cottage. The cottage itself was spotless and very well kitted out with everything we needed for our self catering stay. The location was beautiful, sitting on the decking with nothing but the sound of the birds and a nearby stream was so relaxing and tranquil. The cottage itself was close to several very impressive historical sights some of which we visited during our stay. We cannot fault Tulip cottage or our hosts, we thoroughly enjoyed our short break infact we would have loved to stay for longer. Everything was perfect thankyou. Negative: Nothing
We were hoping for a holiday where we could relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We certainly got that. Tulip Cottage is set in a tranquil and beautiful location but only minutes away from fantastic castles and amazing coastline. With new furnishings literally delivered while we were there, we found everything comfortable and clean plus well equipped kitchen. The downstairs bathroom took a little getting used to especially in the night. We would definitely go back to the cottage and the region.

VERY isolated location, which we were not made aware of. Cobwebs on the stair ceiling and behind bathroom door. Kitchen waste bin was half full of the last tenants. Lack of storage space for food. Disliked the number of messages bombarded with from Host and stay. Also disliked having to,pay £25 2 weeks before our trip for any damages - I feel this was included in the initial payment and a money maker for Host and Stay. Booking.com please be aware of this. I use booking.com regularly but won’t use Host and Stay again if you are selling them
We really liked siting on the balcony watching the stream. The place was quiet and well cared for. We would love to stay there again.

Get rid of Host and Stay and Ill be back Positive: Property had a few 'wear and tear' fixes that needed doing ie. leaking window in bathroom & cold water tap in kitchen but on the whole, I would stay again as it was lovely. Negative: The Hosts "Host & Stay". A nightmare volume of emails asking for information that was already clearly on the original Booking. Like, what's my email address, what's my phone number and a whole load more that really became very frustrating. Being told after the booking that I needed to pay another £25 for insurance wasnt good either! I dont rate this company at all !
