Upon entering Tulip Cottage, you’ll instantly feel at home. The open plan living and dining area is a welcoming space with comfy sofas and a flat screen TV. When it gets cold outside, put on the fire and enjoy a cosy night in. The kitchen is bright and modern. Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, this space is full of character. There is a dryer, washing machine, fridge, kettle, oven, toaster and microwave for you to use throughout your stay so you’ll have everything you need for your break in Northumberland. Enjoy the great outdoors on the patio area. Perfect for a morning coffee or an evening tipple, sit back and relax as you soak up the peaceful atmosphere. Head to the bedroom and you’ll find a tranquil haven. Pops of turquoise blue brighten up the neutral and calming space. You’ll certainly look forward to your sleep at Tulip Cottage as the comfy bed is a dream. The modern bathroom is complete with a large walk in shower. Please note that whilst the property does have Wi-fi, due to the location of the cottage the signal can be intermittent.

Tulip Cottage is located in between historic Bamburgh and the rural farming life in Belford. Ideally situated between the Northumberland coast and wilderness of the Northumberland National Park, you really do have lots to discover. Surrounded by fields, trees and nature, Poppy Cottage has a lush, green backdrop. You can enjoy long, quiet walks and energetic hikes through the countryside. The area is packed with wildlife and even features a nature reserve, so birds like wildfowl and waders can be seen passing through in droves during the winter. Belford has a thriving and friendly market square at its centre brimming with restaurants and inns. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne can be seen from various points around the village and is within easy reach. It’s an ideal base for those wanting to partake in a spot of fishing and golfing. Tulip Cottage is just a short 10-minute drive from the gorgeous coastal town of Bamburgh. Here you’ll find miles of stunning sandy shores and Bamburgh Castle, which is one of the finest castles in the country. Standing on the Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years, there is a wealth of history to uncover.

Tulip Cottage is located within 20 minutes’ drive time to beautiful areas within Northumberland such as Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. There are excellent travel links as the cottage is only a short distance from the A1. The closest train station is Chathill, which is roughly a 15-minute drive from Tulip Cottage so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail. There are a number of bus stops throughout Belford. Hop on the 418 service to explore Bamburgh, Beadnell, Alnwick and Alnmouth amongst others. The X18 route travels between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed with stops in Morpeth, Amble and Seahorses. Newcastle Airport is roughly one hour away by car.

“Had a lovely stay at Tulip cottage, everything was as described and perfect for what we needed. The location was quiet and tranquil, had assigned off road parking and clear instructions on how to access the property. The weather was kind so had the opportunity to sit out on the deck with a coffee and listen to the birds in the wood opposite. The cottage was definitely value for money and we’ll be back if we need something in the area again.”

“Lovely cottage and wonderful location, would stay again! Positive: Excellent location, very comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, lovely garden space, and fabulous underfloor heating in the bathroom. Very spacious and easy parking. Would definitely stay again. Negative: It was mostly very clean, the bathroom itself was spotless but there was some mould coming on the bathroom blinds and a couple of rouge cobwebs around the stairs and front door, but very good overall.”
