Positive: Lovely comfy cottage, beautiful living room. Very peaceful location just 5 minutes or so from Bamburg. Negative: Nothing! Not for everyone in the winter time but it's such an atmospheric place. Beautiful walks in the beach and near enough to pop up to Edinburgh for the day ☺️
Excellent place to stay Positive: A very nice Cottage, 5 star in our opinion, easy to drive to Bamburgh, Sea Houses and elsewhere so close to the Sea lovely coastal walks we enjoyed highly recommend. Negative: We liked everything we knew the WiFi would not be up to much seing as it was in the middle of the countryside which was what we wanted peace and quiet, however our Mobile Data on phones worked great all the time, so could use that for Facebook news WhatsApp ETC.

Cosy, comfortable and quite holiday cottage - excellent value for money Positive: Excellent facilities, very peaceful and easy to travel to surrounding areas. Even though there are other cottages on site you never heard your neighbour which was excellent. Very comfortable living spaces and lots of kitchen devices available for use (even a slow cooker!)
A lovely quiet cottage located 5 minutes away from Bamburgh and the fantastic coastline. The cottage was immaculately clean, comfortable, warm and is great value for money. Our 3rd stay here and we’ll be back again.
It was a lovely AirBnB, very cosy, clean and rustic modern. Good value for money and would recommend for a nice stay in Northumberland. Very close to Bamburgh castle which is worth visiting. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work at all as it’s very rural, so bare that in mind. 4G is good on phone so we connected the TV to our hotspot to watch Netflix etc.
Fabulous stay at Lavender cottage. Had all the amenities to make us feel right at home from the start. Extra towels were a bonus. You can walk from the door to Budle Bay and over to Bamburgh (9mile) worth it for the views. Actually not in Belford as we expected but more in-between Bamburgh and Belford. Lovely quiet location. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful little place nested in the countryside just a short 5 minute drive to Bamburgh . Lovely and clean, tidy and well presented. Really quiet and quant little area, perfect place for exporting Northumberland and crossing the Scottish border. Really friendly hosts and helpful, gave us all the information we needed. A little struggle with phone signal as others have already pointed out but didn’t bother us too much as we were able to connect to WiFi/ hotspot for the TV, understandable with where it is.
Lavender Cottage was very comfortable and spacious. Good kitchen, relaxing lounge and a large bedroom with good storage with a small clean bathroom off. Ample parking for the set of 5 or 6 cottages. Lane to the cottage is very narrow, with a number of potholes, so drive carefully. The lounge and and bedroom had a large screen TV but the absence of any working WIFI means not streaming services. Note inside the cottage says the WIFI is intermittent; it isn't, it is nonexistent. AirBnB listing needs to be changed to make this clear. The location is near enough to the A1 and the coast to explore this beautiful county. Electric car charging is close by on the A1. Overall a lovely off grid stay, in a well appointed and beautiful cottage. PS the owners mum was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

The rooms were very good size and clean. Furnished nicely. The kitchen was well supplied. All on 1 floor was really nice. I would highly recommend and think it was very good value for money. This is third time my wife and I used Airbnb and we have had 3 very nice experiences.
Lovely, clean, comfortable, warm cottage, in a beautiful part of Northumberland, only a short drive from the stunning Bamburgh beach. Parking immediately outside the cottage. Owner’s family on site (Sandra), super helpful and friendly, took great care of us! Furnishings and accessories are lovely. Liquid soaps, washing liquid, high quality towels and linen etc provided. We were very happy to stay at Lavender Cottage for 11 days, thank you. As an aside, be aware that the Wifi is poor- the owner is aware. We managed to use 4G to access the internet, but this consumed our limited data.

Negative: We had to phone up for a key box code the day before arriving, as we weren't sent any details. email with details arrived next day. A grab rail in the shower for us oldies and a non slip mat outside the shower.

A fantastic stay at a top quality cottage! Positive: Warm , cosy and everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The cottage had its own allocated parking too. Lovely relaxing and peaceful stay at the comfy and cosy Lavender Cottage Positive: The cottage was comfy and cosy. It was so peaceful and really enjoyed staying there. The bedroom was well laid out and we had such a good sleep as the bed was so comfy. The kitchen was well equipped and had a fridge/small freezer compartment that was more than adequate for our stay. Livingroom was cosy especially on a night and the wifi worked great for us dueing our stay. We left feeling refreshed. We loved our stay so will definitely come back and would recommend for a peaceful getaway. Negative: Only thing was we asked for another hair towel and was told it would be arranged. This went on for a few days with messages back and forth over the 4 night stay but never did get the towel. We only had a bath towel each and one hand towel between us. We were told on our our last night that they dont give two hand towels for each guest however in the pictures there is clearly two towels for each person and there was also no bathrobes as in pictures. The reviews said people had plenty of towels. If we had known this we could have brought more towels with us. A few places could have done with a bit more of a deep clean such as bathroom and kitchen as utensils and things where dirty. No sponge either to wash things so had to go out to buy one. Would be handy to have sponge for people to wash things properly.Also the kitchen needs a collinder to be able to drain things. Alot of cobwebs in high places needing dusted but to be expected in a cottage.
Positive: We have a rough start. We got there earlier. I informed company. We was emailed checking was 4pm. When we got in cottage was freezing. Cold. No heating. Phone company after a lot of explaining things over and over again..They contacted owner. I must say her response was amazing within a few minutes she was there. Unfortunately the problem couldn't be Fix. So she own cottage next door which we transfers into it was lovely and warm. Next morning she called to check on us. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing break at Lavender Cottage. Its location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Northumbrian coast. There’s also plenty of choice for dining out in the locality (all a short drive). The cottage is tastefully furnished and had everything we needed.

Gem of a find Positive: Absolute gem of a place. Owner has got a fabulous balance of rustic and modern with lots of attention to detail. I can't think of anything I could have needed that wasn't in the cottage . Full size tv in both lounge and bedroom .pure comfort , even down the the lovely thick cushions on the dining chairs , definitely functional as well as decorative. Kitchen very well equipped , little touches like oil , salt and pepper made a difference . Plenty of towels and not the dreaded white towels , functional aubergine which went with the decor , very thick and soft . Just cannot praise this property enough . Highly recommended Negative: Nothing not to like

An opportunity to explore the delights of north Northumberland from a peaceful base. Positive: The accommodation was well-appointed and beautifully decorated. It was in a quiet location with an allotted car parking space. The kitchen was a lovely size and the cooker easy to use. Negative: There was nothing I didn't like, except that we didn't have time to stay for longer. It was a perfect location for Bamburgh, Holy Island and Alnick.

Well hosted and a very comfortable stay Positive: The property was spacious and airy. It was well furnished and so light so light! The kitchen was clean and again well kitted out. This property definitely deserves 5*. It had just about everything needed fir a comfortable stay. I had booked as I wanted to visit Lindisfarne, which was only about 30 minutes journey.
Great location and very peaceful. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Kitchen utensils need a refresh as does the glassware. A deep clean of the shower cubicle and kitchen is needed.

Negative: Wifi didn’t work, speed of dial up. Shower needs some more detail cleaning (shower tube had a bit of mould) Not enough shower and shampoo gels for number of nights. Missing cleaning products for the kitchen.

Beautiful cottage in lovely peaceful surroundings. It was really spacious and extremely comfortable and had everything you might need. The WiFi wasn’t great if you wanted to watch Netflix etc but we had been warned about that and it didn’t bother us. We still had full access to our phones and emails. It gave us time for what we wanted, to relax and spend time reading, and enjoying the area. Enjoyed walking around the area and some lovely lunches. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

Lavender Cottage. Bamburgh Positive: Such a pleasant, peaceful and quiet location. Close to Bamburgh and Holy Island it is perfectly situated. The cottage itself is comfortable, clean, homely and very well provisioned. The perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Negative: The WiFi internet and phone signal was as good as nonexistent for us, however, we quickly saw this as a bonus!

A quiet gem. Positive: Location was great - really quiet, lovely clear skies. Very convenient for place like Maburgh Castle and Holy Island. Negative: It was very cold inside when we first arrived (only 12C) and it took quite a while for the place to warm up. Once warmed up, though, everything was fine.
Great find and would definitely use again. Cottage to a high standard. So nice to have fabric sofas that both reclined rather than slippy leather ones. TV’s worked great on free view, didn’t try streaming as WiFi intermittent but this did not worry us at all.

Had a great break and thoroughly enjoyed it. Positive: Standard of accommodation was excellent and very clean. Parking allocated and near to cottage. Location quiet, but near to Bamburgh. Negative: Only thing we missed was a dishwasher. Site says WiFi intermittent, but actually very slow and impractical for anything except email. Smart TVs OK for Freeview but Internet apps wouldn't work.

Our accommodation was very nice, extremely clean and a very quiet location. The host (Charlie) was also very responsive to any messages. However, I don have 2 grumbles: There was little / no wifi which meant even trying to open up emails was impossible. This has also been mentioned for a number of months in the guest book (Feb 2023) and still an issue that exists. Once you’ve booked and paid, you’re then obliged to pay an additional insurance fee “for peace and mind” which also comes with an admin fee…hmmm. If you don’t require wifi or mind an additional fee, then this place is highly recommended. You’re in a very quiet location but only 5 minutes drive from Bamburgh Castle or 20 minutes from Holy Island.

We stayed second weekend in December - we were the only people in the vicinity and it was very peaceful/ practically no cars coming through and neighbours very quiet. The WiFi is noted as being not very strong but we managed to get around this by hot-spotting off our phones with no issues. We’ll definitely be staying again in the future
Lavender Cottage Positive: Beautiful, quiet rural location which was perfect for a relaxing break. Lavender Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Clean and comfortable bed, plenty of towels and loo roll in the ensuite bathroom. Bedroom is huge with plenty of storage and lots of plug sockets for hairdryer/straighteners phone charger. . Kitchen facilities were all you needed with decent kettle, toaster, fridge and easy to use hob, oven and microwave. Beautiful living room with two very comfy reclining sofas, 2 large velux windows in the roof void made this room beautiful and light all day long. The electric fire also came in handy and made the room very cosy on an evening. Negative: Handheld vac in utility cupboard didn't have a cable in order to charge up and use, but I'm sure this can be easily rectified. WiFi is a real struggle at the cottage however, mobile signal was adequate.

Nice property for a visit. Positive: Lovely property and good location for the many places of interest nearby. Negative: I understand that this is a rural location but the internet provision was not intermittent as the notice in the property indicates but virtually non-existent. Access is via a narrow country lane.
