Positive: Lovely house, well looked after and well equipped. Beds are ok. Very clean. Excellent location.
Negative: There was a funny smell on the ground floor from the en suite bathroom. Also something aggravated our daughters' coughs. But it was fine

Great stay for family at Birchover. Close to lots of spots in the Peak District but also nice pub and caves on doorstep

We had a wonderful few days stay in Birchover. The local area is fantastic for walking. The property is quirky with great decor making it feel homely and it is adequately equipped. The cleanliness and house keeping needs improving. We arrived to the main bathroom having not had a thorough clean. Dirty toilet/sink. Multiple cobwebbs/dust build-up through out the property, including the kitchen. Thankfully, we had great weather and enjoyed most of our time outside in the lovely Peak District.

Lovely House in a Lovely Village
Positive: A lovely house in a lovely village. The house is unusual (being either a chapel or school conversion), it is beautifully decorated and comfortable. It has everything you might need for your stay.
Negative: Nothing

Lovely upstairs space but damp bedrooms and lack of outdoor space
Positive: Living space was lovely.
The hosts left enough basics, toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc.
Great spot for walking
Negative: I found it surprising and felt anxious about the hosts willingness to only share entry instructions 6 hours before arrival. I had a lengthy email with the host and they then sent the instructions 24 hours before arrival. The venue is an upside down arrangement. The bedrooms downstairs felt damp and were noisy by either internal water issues or lack of ventilation.
The venue has no garden, just a very very small patio, 2m square.
The neighbours were noisy (another holiday house) in same chapel, they stood at the front door (no garden) which was near to our bedrooms.
There needs to be double the amount of plates and cutlery.

Lovely converted church that was warm and inviting. Only 2 issues were the beds mattresses which should be replaced. There was noise from radiators system and drain/roof dripping during rain which affected sleep. Otherwise two pubs very close by and park/football pitch opposite which is very handy.

A comfortable well equipped cottage in a great location for walking and sight seeing. We would stay
Positive: The location was good for access to countryside and houses we wanted to visit., It was quiet and spacious living area with a well equipped kitchen.
Negative: The mattresses were uncomfortable. not enough storage for clothes. We couldn't get the TV to work and couldn't find any user guides for TV or kitchen appliances.
