Firstly, there is a damages waiver that isn’t included in the price you pay with Airbnb. A £40 non refundable payment that covers up to £500 accidental damage, or £250 refundable payment on your arrival, which covers £250 on accidental damage. Secondly, the lodge itself was ok, but there were many issues that when you are paying £200 per night, were not great. Soft furnishings were stained, cobwebs, dishwasher was dirty and broken (someone came to fix it during our stay), saucepan with dried food in it, dirty pizza tray in the oven, a false nail in the nest of tables and a mouldy kitchen bin. We also had a problem with the heating and hot water, which I fixed because it was the day we were leaving, my family and I all needed showers and we had to leave the premises by 10am. The hot tub was the saving grace of a pretty stressful break with my children for Mother’s Day.
